(2 Raja-raja 7:9)Renungan: Di zaman Israel kuno, salah satu penyakit yang paling ditakuti adalah kusta. Mengapa? Karena penyakit ini tak hanya memberikan rasa sakit secara fisik, tapi juga menyerang mental penderitanya. Bagaimana tidak? Orang kusta akan dicap sebagai orang yang kena tulah dan dikutuk Allah. Orang kusta juga diasingkan dan begitu direndahkan. Bacaan kita hari ini sungguh menarik untuk kita renungkan. Orang kusta yang selama ini diremehkan justru menjadi pahlawan Israel. Sementara rakyat Israel mengalami kelaparan hebat, orang-orang kusta inilah yang memberi tahu mereka bahwa tentara Aram sudah meninggalkan perkemahannya dan meninggalkan banyak perbekalan. Padahal bisa saja orang-orang kusta itu "balas dendam" dan membiarkan rakyat Israel kelaparan sementara mereka bisa menikmati makanan secara berlimpah. Bisa kita bayangkan betapa malunya rakyat Israel saat mengetahui bahwa orang-orang kusta inilah yang menolong mereka dengan mengabarkan berita baik itu. Orang-orang yang selama ini mereka rendahkan justru menjadi pahlawan bagi mereka. Apa yang bisa kita pelajari dari kisah ini? Janganlah kita suka meremehkan, merendahkan, melakukan hal yang jahat, atau memusuhi seseorang. Kita tidak pernah tahu bahwa orang yang kita jahati adalah orang yang kelak kita mintai pertolongan! Bayangkan betapa malunya kita jika hal itu sampai terjadi. Lebih malu lagi kalau orang itu bersedia menolong kita! Orang yang kita remehkan, bisa saja kelak menjadi orang terhormat. Orang yang kita anggap bawahan, bisa saja menjadi atasan kita. Orang yang kita sangka buruk, bisa saja ternyata adalah orang baik yang tidak pernah memamerkan kebaikannya. Orang yang kita jahati, bisa saja orang itu membalasnya dengan berbuat baik kepada kita. Karena itu marilah kita tidak jemu-jemu berbuat baik kepada setiap orang. Singkirkan prasangka-prasangka dan penilaian lahiriah yang nyatanya sering terbukti salah itu. Kita tidak pernah tahu bahwa kita sedang menabur kebaikan yang suatu kali kelak akan kita tuai pada waktu yang tepat. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, berilah aku hati seperti hati-Mu. (Lukas 6:31)Renungan: Seorang pria bercerita: "Waktu kecil, aku ingat suatu malam ketika Ibu menyiapkan makan malam setelah seharian kerja yang melelahkan. Saat itu, la menghidangkan telur dadar, sosis, dan beberapa biskuit gosong di hadapan ayahku. Aku menunggu reaksi kaget atau protes ayahku. Tapi, yang Ayah lakukan saat itu justru langsung mengambil biskuit itu, memakannya, sambil bertanya apa yang terjadi di sekolahku hari itu. Sesaat setelah itu, aku mendengar Ibu meminta maaf pada Ayah karena biskuitnya sedikit gosong. Dan Ayah menjawab: 'Tidak apa-apa Sayang, enak kok biskuitnya. Penasaran, aku pun bertanya pada Ayah mengenai apakah ia benar-benar menyukai biskuit gosong ketika kami hanya berdua di kamar. Ayah pun memelukku sambil menjawab: 'Ibumu sudah bekerja keras seharian dan ia sudah lelah. Lagipula, biskuit yang sedikit gosong juga tidak akan membuat perut Ayah atau perutmu sakit, kan?'" Dalam hidup keseharian, kita akan sering menemukan ketidaksempurnaan seperti itu. Biskuit gosong di atas adalah perlambang dari segala kelemahan/perbedaan orang-orang yang ada di sekitar kita. Orang tua kita mungkin bukanlah orang kaya yang bisa memberi kita berbagai macam fasilitas. Sahabat kita orangnya mungkin sedikit lemot. Teman sekolah kita mungkin punya hobi suka menggosip. Atau, rekan kantor kita mungkin ada yang maunya di zona aman terus, cenderung pasif, dan susah diajak maju. Tapi, coba lihat diri kita sendiri, bukankah kita juga punya kelemahan? Sebagai rekan kerja, misalnya, kita mungkin cenderung berani dan punya ambisi kuat, tapi di sisi lain kita mungkin adalah seorang pelupa. Atau sebagai sahabat, kita mungkin pinter, tapi di sisi lain kita orangnya kurang tepat waktu. Maka, lebih baik syukuri kelemahan dan perbedaan itu daripada mengeluhkan apalagi mengutukinya. Kita tidak mungkin berharap semua orang punya karakter yang baik dan sesuai keinginan kita. Menerima kelemahan orang-orang yang ada di sekitar kita dan perbedaan yang ada, adalah salah satu kunci penting buat menciptakan relasi atau hubungan yang sehat, selalu bertumbuh, dan bertahan lama. Yang penting bukan "biskuit gosongnya", tapi "relasi" kita dengan orang-orang yang ada di sekitar kita. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, berilah aku rahmat kerendahan hati sehingga dapat menerima kekurangan orang-orang di sekitarku dan mampu memotivasi mereka untuk melangkah lebih maju. Amin. (Dod).

Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Senin, 25 Mei 2026Bacaan: "Segala berkat ini akan datang kepadamu dan menjadi bagianmu, jika engkau mendengarkan suara TUHAN, Allahmu." (Ulangan 28:2)Renungan: Pascabayar dan prabayakit kedua istilah ini pasti tidak asing bagi kita, para pengguna telepon seluler atau jaringan internet tanpa kabel. Ya, ini adalah sistem pembayaran tagihan pulsa atau kuota kita. Mau bayar di muka atau bayar belakangan? Diri sendirilah yang menentukan pilihan. Namun, tahukah kita bahwa sistem pembayaran ini juga dipakai ketika kita menerima berkat dan melakukan dosa? Bacaan di atas menyatakan dengan jelas bahwa berkat itu datang dan menjadi bagian kita, kalau kita mendengarkan suara-Nya. Berkat itu ada syaratnya. Berkat itu ada harga yang harus dibayar di muka sebelum menerimanya. Jadi, tidak ada berkat yang dinikmati dahulu baru dibayar harganya. Tidak ada berkat yang gratis dan seenak kita dalam menggunakannya. Lain halnya dengan dosa bahwa setiap orang dicobai oleh keinginannya sendiri, karena keinginan itu menyeret dan memikatnya (Yak. 1:14-15). Kalau keinginan itu memikat pasti keinginan itu menyenangkan, indah, dan memuaskan. Namun, jika keinginan yang memikat itu dibuahi dalam perbuatan, muncullah dosa. Lalu, dari dosa lahirlah maut. Dosa itu membayarnya selalu belakangan, karena dosa selalu menawarkan kenikmatan, kesenangan, kepuasan, dll. Itu sebabnya dosa selalu memikat manusia. Awalnya memang enak, tetapi akhirnya harus membayar mahal bahkan membayar dengan maut. Bagaimana dengan diri sendiri? Setelah membaca firman Tuhan dan renungan pagi ini, kiranya kita lebih menyukai berkat ketimbang dosa. Sekalipun untuk memperoleh berkat, kita harus membayar harganya dahulu, yaitu ketaatan serta kesetiaan kepada Tuhan dan firman-Nya. Pertanyaan sekali lagi untuk kita, pilih pascabayar atau prabayar? Pilih dosa atau berkat? Mari kita jalani kehidupan penuh berkat dengan membayarnya lebih dahulu. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, berilah aku hikmat, agar sebelum aku bertindak, aku senantiasa menyadari bahwa aku adalah anak-Mu, sehingga apa yang kulakukan seperti yang Kau inginkan. Amin. (Dod).

Untuk menjalin relasi dengan orang lain bukan hal yang mudah, tetapi justru lebih mudah untuk menghancurkan relasi tersebut. Kenyataannya memang untuk mempertahankan relasi itu cukup sulit, karena kebanyakan orang hanya mementingkan kepentingan dirinya sendiri. Hal inilah yang sering menjadi awal dari perpecahan. Permasalahan inilah yang menjadi keprihatinan Rasul Paulus terhadap orang-orang Kristen di Efesus. Relasi di dalam jemaat Efesus kala itu adalah relasi yang baru terbentuk sehingga memiliki resiko yang tinggi terhadap munculnya konflik dan perpecahan. Rasul Paulus menasihati mereka untuk membuang segala rasa sakit hati di antara satu dengan yang lain sebagai umat Tuhan. Mereka harus melandaskan hidup mereka dengan mengingat akan kasih Kristus yang telah diberikan kepada mereka. Harapan Paulus dengan berlandaskan kasih Kristus, dapat terbangun keramahan untuk saling merangkul dan sikap saling mengampuni. Akhirnya dapat terwujud kehidupan bersama sebagai Tubuh Kristus. Hal yang sama juga Tuhan kehendaki dalam kehidupan kita sehari-hari. Membangun relasi dengan orang-orang yang berbeda latar belakang keluarga, pendidikan, lingkungan dsb, bukan hal mudah karena setiap orang mempunyai ego masing-masing. Namun kita harus menyadari bahwa salah satu hal terindah dalam kehidupan adalah terjalinnya relasi yang baik antar sesama. Sebab itu ciptakanlah relasi yang dapat bertahan dan menyatu membentuk ikatan yang menghidupkan. Landaskan kehidupan ini dengan kasih Kristus, kasih yang mengajarkan keramahan dan saling memaafkan. Dengan demikian kita mampu membangun relasi yang indah, termasuk dengan mereka yang di luar Kristus. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, bantulah aku agar dapat menerima setiap orang apa adanya sebagaimana Engkau mau menerima aku apa adanya. Amin. (Dod).

Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Kamis, 2 April 2026Bacaan: "Maka marahlah anak sulung itu dan ia tidak mau masuk. Lalu ayahnya keluar dan berbicara dengan dia." (Lukas 15:28)Renungan: Kisah anak yang hilang tentu sudah sering kita dengar. Kisah ini sering dipakai untuk menunjukkan betapa besar kasih Bapa kepada mereka yang mau bertobat, bahwa la bukan hanya mengampuni, tapi juga akan memberi segala yang baik kepadanya. Selain itu, kisah anak yang hilang juga sering dipakai untuk menunjukkan bagaimana anak Tuhan juga bisa "hilang" walau sehari-hari tampak dekat dengan Tuhan. Tandanya adalah ketika ia tidak lagi bisa mengasihi orang yang berdosa, tapi justru iri ketika Tuhan menerima kembali mereka yang mau bertobat. Tanda lainnya adalah ketika ia merasa tak diberkati padahal ia sendiri tak pernah meminta kepada Bapa yang sangat baik. Kisah ini begitu luar biasa karena memberikan harapan bagi mereka yang belum percaya tapi juga mengingatkan orang percaya bahwa sebagai anak Tuhan, kita tidak hanya harus punya hati seperti Tuhan tapi juga harus bersyukur karena telah dilayakkan menerima kasih karunia dan berkat-Nya. Nah, ada satu hal yang mungkin luput kita perhatikan. Lihatlah bagaimana perhatian bapa kepada si sulung. Meski si sulung merasa dikesampingkan, sesungguhnya perhatian sang bapa kepadanya sangat istimewa. Sang bapa memang rindu kepada si bungsu, tapi ia tidak pergi mencarinya. Setelah anak itu bertobat, baru ia menyongsong dan menerima si bungsu dengan sukacita. Lain halnya dengan si sulung saat ia "terhilang". Saat ia marah karena ada pesta untuk adiknya, si sulung tak mau masuk ke rumah. Namun, apa yang dilakukan bapanya? Bapanya melangkahkan kaki ke luar untuk bertemu dia. Jangan pernah mengira Tuhan itu seperti Bapa yang cuek. Apalagi kepada orang percaya, yang telah bekerja keras melayani Tuhan, sesungguhnya perhatian Tuhan sangat istimewa. la sendiri yang akan datang menghampiri dan menghibur kita. Pertanyaannya, apakah kita menyadarinya? Atau kita justru terus fokus pada masalah, atau bahkan merasa iri kepada orang lain yang tampak diberkati lebih dari kita? Ingat kita punya Bapa yang baik dan penuh kasih, peduli pada anak-anak-Nya. Tidak perlu urusi berkat orang lain, ingatlah bahwa hidup dekat pada Allah pun sudah jadi berkat tersendiri, karena asal dekat Allah, maka kita bisa tenang sebab Dialah sumber pertolongan kita. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, ampuni aku, karena adanya rasa iri dan dendam di hatiku, membuat aku terhilang dari hadapan-Mu. Lepaskanlah perasaan negatif itu dari diriku agar aku dapat kembali masuk dalam hati-Mu. Amin. (Dod).
