We now get into theory number two on the list of 12 found in the Royal Masonic Cyclopedia of 1877 where we explore the theory that Freemasonry derives from the pagan mysteries. I read an email from one of my listeners, Worshipful Master Jamey Sterrett from Temple Lodge No. 70 A.F. & A.M. in Texas. The stars shine bright, all through the night, DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!!! We get into some pretty serious stuff. Paganism Paganism, in the broadest sense, includes all religions other than the true one revealed by God, and, in a narrower sense, all except Christianity, Judaism, and Mohammedanism. The term is also used as the equivalent of Polytheism. It is derived from the Latin pagus, whence pagani (i.e. those who live in the country), a name given to the country folk who remained heathen after the cities had become Christian – Catholic Encyclopedia 1910 The Pocket History of Freemasonry by Fred L. Bérengere Saunière, sacerdote di Rennes-le-Château , decise di ristrutturare in parte la chiesa della chiesa del villaggio nel 1891.
On Thursday March 30th the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon (or Roygnon) will review and discuss the 1982 Bestseller "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln. This is the book that generated "The Da Vinci Code" and is the first mainstream modern speculation on Jesus being married to Mary Magdalene and possibly having heirs who become The Grail Family and, according to the author's become the magical, holy bloodline of the Legendary Merovingian dynasty of French Kings in the days of King Arthur. This bloodline is perpetuated and protected by a medieval secret society that still exists in modern France, The Priory of Sion (Zion). The book is a door-stopper and not very well organized. They try to make it read like a detective story rather than a straight forward documentary presentation. Unless you are fascinated by the subject you may get bogged down with all the mystery before you reach the solution -- but if you stick with it the overall effect is convincing. And to devout Christians perhaps shocking. There are some problems, not with the idea of the Grail family. That is very well presented, but with the authenticity of the Priory of Sion itself. Yes there was one back in medieval times -- but is today's fraternity and its family leadership directly connected to the early medieval Merovingians? In any case the book is a great introduction to this fascinating subject. It certainly got me to looking into my old French antecedents. I discovered the Merovingian "golden bees" on the Roygnon family crest and began to wonder if I had a little of this magical blood? I recall Hamlet said: "To bee or not to bee." I wonder if he was Merovingian. Tune in and we'll explore the mystery of the Grail Family.

In this show, I am joined by the prolific historian of Astrology and Cultural Astronomy, Nicholas Campion. It's a meandering conversation, yet the banks of its flow are held by our topic of Mundane Astrology. You see, Nicholas wrote a book by that title with two others a year after I was born in 1984. Charles Harvey and Michael Baigent are the co-authors. For those of you who listen frequently, know that I now am somewhat a part of the Baigent family these days and have full access to Michael's library. Because of that, I've been reading lots of his and Nicholas's books as of late. Mundane Astrology is my favorite. I highly recommend getting a copy. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this conversation. In this show, Tansy and I share our story. It's been a year since we met and we've been talking about doing a show together since the beginning-yet, the time was never right. It seems now is a good time. We also explore her father's legacy a bit (Michael Baigent, author of many esoteric and astrological books). Really, it's a show that is meant for those who have yet to find their perfect mirror. It's a show to awaken that part of your heart where a temple exists for Venus. Hopefully, it inspires you to light a fire in there again. podcast art: Hans Walor To support the Podcast: www.Patreon.com/adamsommer My site: www.Holestoheavens.com Tansy's site: www.Tansyalexandra.com
In this episode I’m joined by Corjan Mol to discuss a mystery centered around a small village in the mountains of southern France called Rennes-le-Chateau. In the late 1800s there was a notable change in the financial situation of the local priest, who went from a state of abject poverty to one where he was able to spend considerable amounts of money on various building projects around Rennes. Rumours soon spread that he had found a fantastic treasure somewhere in or near the church, but the location and exact nature of that find has never been confirmed. Many people have researched and investigated the activities of the enigmatic priest since however, with compelling theories on the source of his wealth proposed and numerous books being written on the subject, the most famous perhaps being Holy Blood, Holy Grail by Henry Lincoln, Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh, which really helped to popularise the mystery. Corjan has been investigating for over 25 years and has put together a comprehensive repository of information on his website about Rennes, including a podcast series, featuring interviews with some of the best known researchers of the mystery. He has also participated in a number of documentary series like Forbidden History and recently appeared in the current season of The Curse of Oak Island. The Rennes-le-Chateau mystery is something that has interested me for a long time and it was fantastic to be able to talk with someone as knowledgeable on the subject as Corjan. Enjoy! The Some Other Sphere theme is from Purple Planet Music. ‘Hubbub’ by Chris Martyn/Geoff Harvey
For centuries scholars, church officials, historians and skeptics alike have argued back and forth about the evolution of Christianity, the life and deeds of Jesus Christ and more. For many one version of another of the official narrative is satisfactory -- to others, however, there may be much more to the story. Join the guys as they interview Tansy Baigent, the daughter of prolific Grail theorist and author Michael Baigent. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://news.iheart.com/podcast-advertisers
