Ryan and Cindy go home once again, for one of them at least, as they review the 1999 United States version of No Mercy from Cleveland! Topics include: Ryan gushing over the No  Mercy video game for N64. Cindy talking about her most vivid memories of the Gund Arena/Quicken Loans Arena/Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The continuation and growth of the Hardy Boys against Edge and Christian feud in the Terri Invitational Tournament. (Silly acronym just a coincidence).  The departure of head writers Vince Russo and Ed Ferrera and what it would mean for the WWF and WCW.  We talk about the Godfather's proper role in the opening match, probably not against Mideon for 8 minutes.  After that we get 76 year old Fabulous Moolah defeating Ivory to become the oldest Women's Champ. The Holly's screw up their own Tag Team Title match on the Smackdown before, costing the New Age Outlaws the Tag Team titles and then defeating them by DQ. We talk about Jeff Jarrett's contract rolling over and him making sure he got a nice advance on his match with Chyna.  We talk about the Good Housekeeping match, the kind of rules that only make sense when they need to.  We get another quickie Rock match, reminiscent of the SummerSlam match against Billy Gunn, where Rock dispatches someone not in his league quickly.  We then have the front-runner for Match of the Year for 1999 and definitely the Match of the Night between Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boys as they totally revolutionize ladder matches in the WWF, delivering in a big way when given the spotlight.  We get another strange elevation match as Val Venis, last seen feuding with Steve Blackman over dildos, against Mankind, the person who was World Champ a little less than six weeks ago. The match is not great.  Steve Austin and Triple H have a very good 1999 WWF main event brawl. Weapons, including a boom camera, brawling all over the arena, Rock interference backfiring, a very cromulent end to the show. We look at Raw the next night where Mankind gives Rock his copy of Have A Nice Day. Mankind then gives one of his last great fired up promos, accusing the Rock of throwing out his book. Ryan shares his story of meeting Mick Foley for the first time about a week after

Episode Ninety Eight - No Mercy 1999 (UK)Very few things in wrestling remainly fairly rare. Nowadays wrestling storylines and angles tend to be rehashed versions of the old. Most wrestlers feel very much old hat after a year or so on a roster, but back in 1999 WWF did something fairly rare. That was to hold two pay per views called No Mercy, five months apart. One held in the UK and one held in the US, and featuring Triple H and Stone Cold in each main event, and Mideon...plenty of Mideon! We are checking out both events back to back to round out our first century of podcast's before we celebrate our one Hundred! So which country had it better, well, we start with the UK version, a show that may on the surface seem cobbled together, Droz versus Blackman, Mankind versus Billy Gunn, but in reality, was this show that bad? Only one way to find out, you'd better call creative and find out!

July 19th, 1999: Vince McMahon decides to shake things up a bit by pitting Corporate Ministry members The Undertaker and Triple-H against each other, with the winner facing Steve Austin for the WWF Title this Sunday at "Fully Loaded." And speaking of "Stone Cold," he arrives in a very unusual vehicle and vows to extract some blood from Vince's skull before the night is over! The Rock squares off with reigning King of the Ring Billy Gunn, who has been on a bit of a losing streak lately. The Big Show & Hardcore Holly face X-Pac & Kane, with the highlight being a post-match moment where "The Big Red Machine" decides whether or not to join up with his brother. Shane McMahon pledges to apologize to his sister Stephanie after accidentally elbowing her in the face last week.... but instead, he ends up blaming Test. And later on, the aforementioned Test steps into the ring with Steve Blackman. "The Road Dogg" Jesse James is slated to face Chyna in a Dogg Pound Match, where both competitors are forced to wear dog collars around their necks. The Hardy Boyz put their WWF Tag Team Titles on the line in a four-team Elimination Match which also features The Godfather & Val Venis, The Acolytes, and Droz & Prince Albert. June 14th, 1999: After being appointed as the CEO of the company last week, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin heads to WWF Headquarters and institutes some very interesting changes. Meanwhile back in the arena, Vince and Shane McMahon contemplate what the stipulation for their "King of the Ring" match should be, so they make several stipulation matches tonight on "Raw." The Rock challenges The Undertaker to a title match at "King of the Ring," but he will first have to beat 'Taker in a non-title match tonight.... and possibly someone else as well. Pat Patterson & Gerald Brisco disagree with Vince's authoritarian tactics, so the chairman forces them to compete in a match against Mideon & Viscera. Because he took Stephanie McMahon out on a date last week, Test is ordered to face The Big Boss Man in a Blind Date Match, where Test must wear a blindfold. WWF Tag Team Champions The Acolytes defend their titles in a Handicap Match against Kane (yes, you read that correctly). "The Road Dogg" Jesse James squares off with his former tag team partner "Mr. Ass" in a Dogg Pound Match where both men are joined at the neck by a dog collar. In a non-title match, WWF Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett faces Ken Shamrock in a Straitjacket Match where only Shamrock has to wrestle in a straitjacket. X-Pac is scheduled to face The Big Show in a David vs. Goliath Match, but the big man seemingly wants no part of it. Debra defends her WWF Women's Title against Ivory, who is somehow in line for a title shot even though she hasn't wrestled on "Raw" in months. Commissioner Shawn Michaels shows up on the TitanTron live from back home in San Antonio, where he proceeds to schedule a whole bunch of matches. In our main event, WWF Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin teams with The Rock and Vince McMahon to take on Corporate Ministry members The Undertaker, Triple-H, and Shane McMahon. In a Hardcore Handicap Match, Mideon & Viscera team up to face an opponent who is returning for one night only: Cactus Jack! Pat Patterson & Gerald Brisco once again step into the ring with The Mean Street Posse, but this time the losing team must leave the WWF forever. The Big Boss Man does battle with Test in what you could say is Boss Man's signature match: a Nightstick-on-a-Pole Match. WWF Women's Champion Sable puts her title on the line against Debra in an Evening Gown Match, with surprising results. Chyna screwed over Ken Shamrock last week, so she must confront "The World's Most Dangerous Man" tonight. One half of the WWF Tag Team Champions Kane squares off with former DX member Billy Gunn. Jeff Jarrett clobbers Val Venis with a guitar, and then later on the two of them have a pretty solid match. Paul Bearer is forced to compete in his first ever match in the WWF...... against The Big Show. Faarooq and Bradshaw are ordered to face each other in a match which could potentially tear The Acolytes apart. But before that can happen, it appears that 'Taker has some plans of his own for Stephanie: marrying her against her will in front of the world! Because The Rock was unsuccessful at regaining the WWF Championship last night, Shane McMahon proceeds to fire him from The Corporation... so Rock challenges him to a match tonight! The dysfunctional team of X-Pac & Kane defend their WWF Tag Team Titles against Gangrel & Edge, but a post-match bloodbath throws things into further disarray. Mankind & The Big Show team up to face Corporation members The Big Boss Man & Test.
