The Message Bible—Romans 5:1-5. By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide-open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. There's more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we're hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! (Romans 5:1-5 MSG) Let's personalize these scriptures… God has made you right with Him through Christ. That's what He wanted for you when He created you. God has thrown open the doors of Heaven to you. He wants you to throw open the doors of your heart, your mind, your spirit to Him. And now you are standing where you have always hoped to stand—out in the wide-open spaces of His grace and glory. Let's take a few moments … I want to ask you to express Your praise to God. Whether you shout or you are silent, take a moment to worship like Paul expressed, as he calls it standing tall and shouting our praise. Please know that the enemy of God and the ways of this world do not want you to know who you truly are in Christ. So that is exactly why the battle is so strong on so many of your days to pull you down and keep you down. But please, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking … never stop. Know who you are and only go deeper in your relationship with Christ. You will never find the end of Him this side of Heaven, so I want to inspire you to dive deep in His grace and in His glory. Let's pray: “Heavenly Father, we worship You today as the One who gives us our life, our breath, and our identity. You alone establish our worth and our value. Help me, lead me, to just keep asking, seeking, and knocking to know You deeper and higher and farther and longer in Your love until I come home to be with You. As above, so below.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 MSG You've all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You're after one that's gold eternally. I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! I'm staying alert and in top condition. I'm not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself. Paul used runners in a race as a metaphor for the Christian life. Notice he never mentioned the prospect of losing, only what must be done to win. A major mental and emotional dynamic of serious athletes is to constantly envision winning. For you to set and attain your goals in life, try to take losing off the table. Run to win. Train hard. Give it everything you've got. Stay alert. Envision winning. Why? Because we tend fulfill the personal prophesies that we create in our minds. Listen again to Paul's inspirational speech: Everyone runs; one wins. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27 MSG) What do you need to let go of, or what do you need to start doing to race like you never have before? Let's declare Paul's words out loud: I run to win. I will give it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! I will stay alert and in top condition. (from 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 MSG) Let's pray together: “Father, I desire to win any and everything that You intend for me to win in life. Teach me to think Your thoughts and live as one who desires to win and cross Your finish line. As above, so below.”

How do I hear the voice of God? We serve a speaking God. John 10:3-5 // “The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice.” Proverbs 3:6 (MSG) // Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. Luke 8:8 // “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” God doesn't have a speaking problem, we have a listening problem. Luke 8:5-8 // “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.” When he said this, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” Luke 8:11 // “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.” 1. The polluted heart. Luke 8:12 // Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. James 1:21 (NLT) // Get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the message God has planted in your hearts, for it is strong enough to save your soul. Repent - Turn Around 2. The distracted heart. Luke 8:13 (NLT) // “The rocky soil represents those who hear the message with joy. But like young plants in such soil, their roots don't go very deep. They believe for a while, but they wilt when the hot winds of testing blow.” Luke 10:39-40 (AMP) // And she had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord's feet and was listening to His teaching. But Martha [overly occupied and too busy] was distracted with much serving. 3. The immature heart. Luke 8:14 // “The seed that fell among weeds stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way, they are choked by life's worries, riches, and pleasures, and they don't mature.” Proverbs 12:15 // The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice. Maturity comes when we stop making excuses and start making changes. 4. The prepared heart. Luke 8:15 // But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. How do we prepare our heart? Repent. Refocus. Revive. 2 Corinthians 7:1 (MSG) // Let's make a clean break with everything that defiles or distracts us, both within and without. Let's make our entire lives fit and holy temples for the worship of God. God's voice is clearest in a prepared environment.

While the themes of Advent are peace, hope, love and joy, sometimes it is difficult to feel or experience them in the busyness of life and the many happenings of this world! But the prophet Amos has a divine Word that reminds us of the hope that is on its way on Christmas day! As believers, we can experience HOPE through the coming of Jesus--God made flesh, Emmanuel! Tune in to today's show for a spontaneous download of what God has spoken to me from Amos 9:11-15 MSG: Let's decree and declare, God is going to SUDDENLY do it! “But also on that Judgment Day I will restore David's house that has fallen to pieces. I'll repair the holes in the roof, replace the broken windows, fix it up like new. David's people will be strong again and seize what's left of enemy Edom, plus everyone else under my sovereign judgment.” God's Decree. He will do this. 13-15 “Yes indeed, it won't be long now.” God's Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won't be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I'll make everything right again for my people Israel: “They'll rebuild their ruined cities. They'll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They'll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I'll plant them, plant them on their own land. They'll never again be uprooted from the land I've given them.” God, your God, says so. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frannie-foltz/support

(Ephesians 2:10; John 9:4) For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” Ephesians 2:10 AMP “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4 KJV The dictionary meaning states ‘handiwork', ‘expertise', ‘artwork', ‘design'. God designed us uniquely for a purpose. God fashioned us to be an expertise to serve our generation according to His will. Halleluyah! We need to be energetically at work for the One who sent me here, working while the sun shines. When night falls, the workday is over. There is urgent need to energetically do the good works God has called us to do. John 9:3-5 MSG Let's remember this truth. Let this truth dominate our mind so that we can work excellently wherever we are because God has filled us with His Spirit of excellence. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/abimbola-arawande/message
At the beginning of every New Year, we see the marketing begin for “a new you.” Diets, weight loss programs, fitness centers, fitness gear, financial programs, all the tools we might need to make positive changes come at us to buy or join up. Even Home Depot and Lowes put all their advertising dollars into pushing bins, tubs, shelves, and organizational items. And then of course there’s the new specialty calendars. More than anyone, God knows we need opportunities for fresh starts and new beginnings. Today, I want to offer you another resource for your new year. I want to introduce and invite you to take part in a spiritual concept that could help drive real change in your life. I’ll offer you two approaches to this concept: First, what if you looked through your Bible, went through the concordance in the back, or searched online and found a Bible verse or passage that will be your theme for 2021? A verse you will claim for your life and pray into your life all year long. Second, you might even want to consider adopting a life verse. Find a verse or passage that becomes like a mission statement, a life filter for you that helps you make decisions, choose direction, and apply to every aspect of your life. What if when questions or crises arise, temptations fly in your face, or offers are presented, you quoted your verse to yourself and then answered honestly how that truth affects your dilemma? You can memorize your verse, write it on a 3 X 5 card and put it on your car dash, write it in Sharpie on your bathroom mirror, or record it on a voice memo so you can play it as often as you need to hear it. What if your life verse or your 2021verse was Micah 6:8? How might this help you navigate choices this year? No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. (NLT) What about Ephesians 4:31-32? Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. (NLT) If you want to see real change this next year, adopting a verse can create a great “litmus test” or a mission statement for your life. Pray, read, look up, and ask God to lead you to what He might want you to apply and focus on this next year. He will show You. After all, it’s His Word. There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 MSG) Let’s pray: “Heavenly Father, I ask You to show me a verse in Your Word that I can place into my life as my mission statement for 2021. Give me a personal word from You for my life. I know You can show me and Your Word will help me. As above, so below.”
For our final day this week, I can’t wait for us to read a passage from The Message Bible—Romans 5:1-5. Remember on the first day this week when I spoke of a newness and excitement that we can experience when we choose to receive our new identity in Christ, accept His worth into our hearts, and begin to discover who we truly are? Well, this passage is a great sum-up and send-off for the week in trying to live in this new mindset as a Christ-follower. Please close your eyes. Take this truth in. Visualize yourself in the scenes that the Scripture describes. By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! (Romans 5:1-5 MSG) Let’s personalize these scriptures… God has made you right with Him through Christ. That’s what He wanted for you when He created you. God has thrown open the doors of Heaven to you. He wants you to throw open the doors of your heart, your mind, your spirit to Him. And now you are standing where you have always hoped to stand—out in the wide open spaces of His grace and glory. Let’s take a few moments … I want to ask you to express Your praise to God. Whether you shout or you are silent, take a moment to worship like Paul expressed, as he calls it standing tall and shouting our praise. (Pause) Please know that the enemy of God and the ways of this world do not want you to know who you truly are in Christ. Let’s pray: “Heavenly Father, we worship You today as the One who gives us our life, our breath, and our identity. You alone establish our worth and our value. Help me, lead me, to just keep asking, seeking, and knocking to know You deeper and higher and farther and longer in Your love until I come home to be with You. As above, so below.”

Text:John 10:1-10 MSG“Let me set this before you as plainly as I can. If a person climbs over or through the fence of a sheep pen instead of going through the gate, you know he’s up to no good—a sheep rustler! The shepherd walks right up to the gate. The gatekeeper opens the gate to him and the sheep recognize his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he gets them all out, he leads them and they follow because they are familiar with his voice. They won’t follow a stranger’s voice but will scatter because they aren’t used to the sound of it.”6-10 Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.Isaiah 56:1-8 MSG1-3 God’s Message:“Guard my common good:Do what’s right and do it in the right way,For salvation is just around the corner,my setting-things-right is about to go into action. How blessed are you who enter into these things, you men and women who embrace them,Who keep Sabbath and don’t defile it,who watch your step and don’t do anything evil!Make sure no outsider who now follows Godever has occasion to say, ‘God put me in second-class.I don’t really belong.’And make sure no physically mutilated personis ever made to think, ‘I’m damaged goods.I don’t really belong.’”4-5 For God says:“To the mutilated who keep my Sabbathsand choose what delights meand keep a firm grip on my covenant,I’ll provide them an honored placein my family and within my city, even more honored than that of sons and daughters.I’ll confer permanent honors on themthat will never be revoked.6-8 “And as for the outsiders who now follow me,working for me, loving my name, and wanting to be my servants—All who keep Sabbath and don’t defile it,holding fast to my covenant—I’ll bring them to my holy mountainand give them joy in my house of prayer. They’ll be welcome to worship the same as the ‘insiders,’to bring burnt offerings and sacrifices to my altar.Oh yes, my house of worshipwill be known as a house of prayer for all people.”The Decree of the Master, God himself, who gathers in the exiles of Israel:“I will gather others also, gather them in with those already gathered.”Quotes:The Journey by David WhyteAbove the mountainsthe geese turn intothe light againPainting theirblack silhouetteson an open sky.Sometimes everythinghas to beinscribed acrossthe heavensso you can findthe one linealready writteninside you.Sometimes it takesa great skyto find thatfirst, brightand indescribablewedge of freedomin your own heart.Sometimes withthe bones of the blacksticks left when the firehas gone outsomeone has writtensomething newin the ashes of your life. You are not leaving.Even as the light fades quickly now,you are arriving.Welcoming Prayer by Thomas KeatingWelcome, welcome, welcome.I welcome everything that comes to me todaybecause I know it’s for my healing.I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.I let go of my desire for power and control.I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval and pleasure.I let go of my desire for survival and security.I let go of my desire to change any situation, condition, person or myself.I open to the love and presence of God andGod’s action within. 007 John and Sungshim dialogue about rest during "Safer at home" in CA.Go Deeper with Rest (optional):Set your Intention to grow your capacity to rest in God’s love. The life-changing information related to COVID-19 comes at us quickly. It demands us to stay alert; it urges us to move into action; it commands us to master our protective skills. The idea of rest - lowering our alertness, slowing down our action, relinquishing our mastery - sounds unrealistic, irresponsible, and even foolish. And yet, we are urged to “make every effort to enter into that rest” in Hebrew 4:11.The challenge we face is that we rarely experience a sense of completion. Rather, more often than not, we experience a sense of incompletion and lack, which causes us to be in a physiological state of fear and a physical condition of weariness. This makes it almost impossible for us to obey God, by enter into that rest. What we need first is to enter into an honest conversation with God, who sees our weariness with great compassion and restorative power. Listen to Jesus’ initiation of this honest conversation and step by step instruction on how to find rest:"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me -watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” - Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)Let us see the deeper reality where God’s love and power flows in us and through us and never ceases. Real rest begins when we have an honest conversation with God. Real rest is found in the context of real conversation/relationship!Ponder on the questions below for your conversation with God:In what area(s) of your life do you seem unable to trust in God’s love where you find your ultimate belonging? In what area(s) of your life do you hear loud voices like these? You better hurry, for there is not enough to go around! You better worry, for you are not good or worthy enough yet! You better be tough, for the world is harsh! You can't stop, or you will fall behind! What keeps you from enjoying the awe and wonder of life? What keeps you from welcoming each morning with gratitude? What keeps you awake at night?Have a conversation with God about your struggle. Share what came to your awareness with God, in a conversational way, and ask Him to help you to hear His voice (My child, you belong to me; You are safe in my hands.) Engage yourself in a posture of rest. When you are finished interacting with God, engage in a posture of rest by actually entering into stillness. For this process, we will use the key line from Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”What do we do? You are invited to recite the key line from Psalm 46:10, “Be still and Know that I am God” 5 times. Each time the line is recited, the key words are taken away and you will find yourself simply ‘being’ in His presence. How to do it? Recite/chant/sing as follows:Be still and know that I am God, (pause)Be still and know that I am, (pause)Be still and know, (pause)Be still, (pause)BeIf you desire, linger in the silence.https://www.presenceandpractice.com/ https://www.loppnowrelationshipcenter.com/

Stop comparing! its OK to be challenged or push each other but stop expected things to be identical. God has a Plan for each person How it limits us It take our eyes off on what Gods trying to do in our life We de-value what we have to offer Create a place for jealousy to grow Causes apathy (lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern) and procrastination (action of delaying or postponing something) We de-value who we are. Puts us in a place of bondage. Are we judging ourselves and its based in condemnation. God Speaks (1 Samuel 3:3-11) The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house of the LORD, where the ark of God was. Then the LORD called Samuel. Samuel answered, “Here I am.” And he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” But Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down. Again the LORD called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” “My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him. A third time the LORD called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized that the LORD was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.’ ” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The LORD came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” And the LORD said to Samuel: “See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle. 1.As we ____________________. The Inner Vow - Words are powerful Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 13:3 (NKJV) “Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.” Matthew 12:36-37 (MSG) Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.” What you are saying today is shaping your tomorrow The Inner Vow = Self Directed Promise Whats the big deal? Matthew 5:33-37 (NKJV) 33 “Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’ 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. Why is it evil to swear? You just became God in that area of your life. Inner vows prohibit learning and growth and they cause extremes. How to overcome Inner Vows 1. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you made vows 2. Repent 3. Submit that area to Jesus

At one time you all had your backs turned to God, thinking rebellious thoughts of him, giving him trouble every chance you got. But now, by giving himself completely at the Cross, actually dying for you, Christ brought you over to God's side and put your lives together, whole and holy in his presence. You don't walk away from a gift like that! You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted. There is no other Message-just this one. Every creature under heaven gets this same Message. Proverbs 4:20-22 (MSG) Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to ‘my voice. 2018/7/22 Ps Luke Kennedy ルーク ケネディ牧師 Categories: Video: https://osaka.mylifehouse.com/tv/message/tune-into-gods-voice Tune into God’s Voice Colossians 1:21-23 (MSG) You yourselves are a case study of what he does. The Radio Example. Turn the knob to tune into different channels. Proverbs 4:20-22 (MSG) Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to ‘my voice. Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart! Those who discover these words live, really live; body and soul, they're bursting with health. God’s warning against listening to the wrong voices. Psalm 1:1-2 ( NIV) Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. Isaiah 8:19-22 (MSG) When people tell you, "Try out the fortune tellers. Consult the spiritualists. Why not tap into the spirit-world, get in touch with the dead?" Tell them, "No, we're going to study the Scriptures." People who try the other ways get nowhere-a dead end! Frustrated and famished, they try one thing after another. When nothing works out they get angry, cursing first this god and then that one, Looking this way and that, up, down, and sideways-and seeing nothing, A blank wall, an empty hole. They end up in the dark with nothing. How can I know the difference between these voices? Their character. John 10:10 (MSG) A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. Psalm 36:1-2 (MSG) The God-rebel tunes in to sedition- all ears, eager to sin. He has no regard for God, he stands insolent before him. He has smooth-talked himself into believing That his evil will never be noticed. What I'm tuned into affects every area of my life. Colossians 3:15-17 (MSG) Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ-the Message-have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives-words, actions, whatever-be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way. Read rest of the notes 続きを読む https://osaka.mylifehouse.com/tv/message/tune-into-gods-voice
During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus commands us to be the salt and light in the world! We are his representatives to a bland and dark world and are commanded to live in a way that glorifies God and points to Him. Denise McKinney continues our summer series by exploring these two elements. Salt & Light Sermon on the Mount | Week 2 June 3, 2018 | Denise McKinney Matthew 5:1-12 | What Jesus gives us Matthew 5:13-16 | What Jesus asks of us Matthew 5:17-20 | What Jesus does for us Covenant: I will bless you and you will bless others. I will make you a great nation Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV) You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:13 (MSG) Let me tell you why you are here… Be SALT Be LIGHT Matthew 5:15 (MSG) God is not a secret to be kept. Be a CITY Matthew 5:16 (MSG) By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God… Missio Dei God is a missionary and to follow Christ is to be called into His mission. Jesus seems recklessly confident of our potentialities: he calls us the salt of the earth, the light of the world, [and a city on a hill] without whose witness the world will be a different place. sacredspace.ie
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) Freedom Church exists to lead people into a NEW LIFE of freedom in JESUS. Message Title: “Crossing Over” Immediately after this… Matthew 14:22 (NLT) Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. Matthew 14:22 (NLT) Calling Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Ephesians 4:1-16 (NLT) However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ… Ephesians 4:1-16 (NLT) Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:1-16 (NLT) This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Ephesians 4:1-16 (NLT) Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won't be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching… Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. Ephesians 4:1-16 (NLT) He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Ephesians 4:1-16 (NLT) Your calling will always be connected to the body of Christ… the Church. You didn't SIGN UP… you followed a CALL. After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. Matthew 14:23-24 (NLT) Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. Matthew 14:23-24 (NLT) Commitment When we know JESUS has called us… we can trust HIM even when the path doesn't make sense. Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. James 1:2-4 (MSG) You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. James 1:2-4 (MSG) Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. James 1:2-4 (MSG) What God wants to do through you, will always begin with what He wants to lead you through. About three o'clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It's a ghost!” Matthew 14:25-27 (NLT) But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don't be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” Matthew 14:25-27 (NLT) Confidence Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. Matthew 14:28-29 (NLT) So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. Matthew 14:28-29 (NLT) Commitment to the calling… will always breed confidence. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Matthew 14:30-33 (NLT) Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” Matthew 14:30-33 (NLT) When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed. Matthew 14:30-33 (NLT) Clarity “It's time to step out of the boat into a place of uncertainty… because your uncertainty is the only place I move!” After they had crossed the lake, they landed at Gennesaret. When the people recognized Jesus, the news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area, and soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed. Matthew 14:34-36 (NLT) But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1-19 (NLT) “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Isaiah 43:1-19 (NLT) “For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you. Do not be afraid, for I am with you…” Isaiah 43:1-19 (NLT) “You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God— there never has been, and there never will be.” Isaiah 43:1-19 (NLT) “I, yes I, am the Lord, and there is no other Savior… From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done…” Isaiah 43:1-19 (NLT) “I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel's Creator and King. I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea.” Isaiah 43:1-19 (NLT) “I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick.” Isaiah 43:1-19 (NLT) “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:1-19 (NLT)
We lead PEOPLE into a new life of FREEDOM in JESUS. …Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 (KJV) Value # 1 - We Keep Jesus the Main Thing Value # 2 - We Live for the Other Person's Good Value #3 – We Add Value to the World Around us Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? Matthew 5:13 (MSG) …Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. Matthew 5:14 (MSG) If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Matthew 5:15 (MSG) Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (MSG) …Let's not just talk about love; let's practice real love. This is the only way we'll know we're living truly, living in God's reality. 1 John 3:18 (MSG) 1. We SERVE For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13 (NLT) Serving is simply when you intentionally focus your energy on meeting someone else's need. …Don't think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Romans 12:3 (NLT) Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ's body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. Romans 12:4-6 (NLT) So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. Romans 12:6-8 (NLT) Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. 1 Corinthians 12:14-15 (NLT) And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body? If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? 1 Corinthians 12:16-17 (NLT) But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. 1 Corinthians 12:18-20 (NLT) The eye can never say to the hand, “I don't need you.” The head can't say to the feet, “I don't need you.” In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. 1 Corinthians 12:21-22 (NLT) When the body is WORKING properly, the body can do more WORK. …Among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26-28 (NLT) 2. We are Radically GENEROUS Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 2 Corinthians 9:6 (NLT) You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NLT) And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT) The hallmark of Christianity is radical generosity. All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had. Acts 4:32 (NLT) When we are generous with our EXCESS, we will always have an excess to GIVE. 3. We are LIFE-GIVING Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV) The greatest way we can breathe life into a situation is to SPEAK life. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29(NIV) The hard conversation you need to have could be the most life-giving thing you could ever say. Are we wind at their back or wind in their face? 4. We Leave it BETTER Than We Found It So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Ephesians 5:15-16 (NLT) Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Ephesians 5:17 (NLT) I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. John 13:15 (NLT) Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world…following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God's anger, just like everyone else. Ephesians 2:1-3 (NLT) But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!) Ephesians 2:4-5 (NLT) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us… Ephesians 2:6-7 (NLT) God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:8-11 (NLT)
Title of message: Transformed Families VIDEO (Romans 12:2) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Proverbs 24:3) By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established How can I have a Godly family? 1. Make Jesus the center of my home? (2 Corinthians 5:14) (Message) Christ's love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do. 2. Make my home a place of protection? (Proverbs 14:26) (GW) In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and his children will have a place of refuge. We will trust each other. Our home will always be a place of physical and emotional safety. Unhealthy homes ignore pain; healthy homes bring it to the center where Jesus is. 3. Change the climate of my home? (Psalm 126:2) Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” (John 13:34-35) (MSG) "Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other." We will have fun and laugh together, enjoy meals together, read together, share our faith together, and minister together. 1. Laugh Together [Photos of kids] 2. Share the wins 3. Raise the Honor
