Never and Always. Those are words you should cross out your dictionary. "It's NEVER going to happen" "He NEVER does this" "She NEVER does that." Never? Really? What a word with such permanence and absolute. Likewise, there's always "It's ALWAYS like this" "This ALWAYS happens" "He ALWAYS gets this way." Have you ever considered, that maybe, just maybe,...things can change eventually. C'mon now, you're a procrastin8r yourself. "Eventually" should come natural to you. All these doubts of how you'll "never" be good enough or "always" be poor and terrible. Cut that shit. Relax and realize that "eventually" can happen. Hey, maybe tomorrow, maybe some other day. Your current circumstances are not permanent, even if it feels like it. But feeling that way and actually being that way are two different things. I think expressing the word "never" is to hold the sentiment that it doesn't happen frequently enough or perhaps, chances seem low that it ever will happen. Similarly, expressing the word "always" is to believe that it happens TOO MUCH. But despite how little or how often something happens, it can change...at a later time, eventually. Just because it feels permanent, doesn't mean it is. Read more in the full Blog article: http://www.procrastin8r.com/blog/never Subscribe to the Newsletter: http://www.procrastin8r.com/subscribe

Episode 265 is with Kim Emch from Festa. Ending poverty through life changing relationships. Passionate about helping children and families in poverty – many are New Americans, and many live in suburbs. Connect neighbors to build relationships that end poverty, in this generation! I'm a servant of God because He rescued me. By the time I was 17, I had lived through five divorces by my two parents: one being an alcoholic, and one having an affair. I didn't grow up facing financial poverty, but my home was filled with chaos and pain. But God did not forget me; He rescued me. He sent people from a local church who invited me every single week to a youth program they hosted. It was full of joy and peace. It was a safe refuge. They cared about me, loved me, and taught me about the Lord. They said, “Kim, the God of the universe made you and He loves you. You're gifted and talented.” “Kim, you're smart. Have you ever thought of going to college?” “Kim, you have leadership abilities. We could hone that for you. We can grow that in you and God could use you for his plans for His future.” They started casting a vision for me of a future where I would use my gifts and talents to serve God. Fast-forward to March 2007. I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to light my heart on fire in a whole new way. Eleven short days later, I learned there were 2,158 children facing poverty in my own suburban community. I had been tutoring children facing poverty in downtown Columbus for years, but I had no idea that my neighbors – children in MY town who went to school with my own children – were also facing poverty. The free or reduced school lunch program came screeching to an abrupt halt for 12 weeks every summer, and those children went hungry. I felt a call on my life to love, serve and feed them body, mind and spirit, and to bring the body of Christ alongside me. I'd never even heard of a free summer lunch program, but I felt compelled to try. God gave me a big, loud mouth, so I used it to tell anyone who would listen to me. I talked to church communities, businesses, civic associations, and my friends and neighbors. I urged them to come together to feed these children, and we did exactly that; 178 of us served 246 children that summer with 2,376 lunches. Before March 2007, my circle was the opposite of diverse. Everyone I knew was exactly like me; they looked, talked and dressed like me. Suddenly, I was looking into the faces of beautiful, gifted and talented children and their amazing parents who came from all walks of life. They were diverse in every sense of the word: racially, socially, economically, culturally, and religiously. I found myself compelled to love them even more. They began sharing heart-breaking stories. One family saved up to buy a car that broke down before they even got home, and they became entwined in a legal battle.  Parents struggled to get jobs and put food on the table for their families because they couldn't speak English well enough. Children were falling behind in school because parents couldn't help them with homework. We kept helping and serving and living life together. God sent me to places that nothing in my previous life experience prepared me for. He guided me into homes and into hearts. I constantly said, ‘God, I'm not the right one. You've got to bring someone else. You have to bring more people.' He ALWAYS brought more people. And we started creating these spaces where we gathered people to learn from each other. In the summer, it was a camp, and in the school year, an ESL Family program. I realized that God was using me to create spaces of refuge – the same kind of spaces He created to rescue me in decades past. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/aaronconrad/support

This morning, I want to witness how God always provides. At prayer group last week, one of the members talked about a time when she truly understood what it was to believe without a doubt that God would do something. Her husband had died at a very young age. They had two very young kids.  She remembered the mass she had said for her husband one year after he had passed. Her husband had a big family. His mom had about 5 siblings, and dad had about 5 siblings. I am unsure how many siblings her husband had; I think she had several. She had invited the families to the mass. However, most lived out of state, so she only expected the few nearby to come to the mass. After the Mass, she invited everyone to her house for dinner. She had made a big tray of American chop suey. When she got to mass, she found out that his parents had invited the entire family, and they all came! There were so many people, and they all headed to her house afterward for food. She drove home in the car with her mom and dad. They asked what she was going to do. They knew she didn't have enough food for that many people. She told her mom it would be fine. She said she knew God would provide. He wouldn't let her run out of food. The father-in-law stopped at the store to get some potato salad. So they had one pan of American chop suey and some potato salad for all those people. I imagine it was a lot when you consider spouses and children. Agnes said she did not doubt that there would be enough food. After everyone left, they still had a whole pan of American chop suey for leftovers. God is so good!I have also seen this abundance in my house growing up. My mom would make us grilled tuna melt sandwiches, and there would be so many of us kids, and yet my mom would use two cans of tuna, and it was as if it never ran out. I was always amazed at watching my mom cook when I was younger. I mean, imagine how much bread you must have to have to make enough French toast for 11 kids. I feel like we are always out of bread here, and I have three. Yet God always provided. We never went without food, even though my parents had little money. God definitely provided for my family.Another example was given at the Life in the Spirit seminar. Our sister Caroline was at a Conference where the worship leader had a screen she used to show the words to the songs. They were outside, and some people in the back said they could not see the screen. The worship leader said, “That's ok, I'll pray.” She said, “Heavenly Father, you have appointed me as worship leader here, and as your appointed worship leader, I am asking you to rearrange the clouds, move the sun, or do something so people can see. Thank you, and amen.” Caroline was amazed. She was wondering what was going on. She asked the Lord to rearrange the sky. And then the Lord did, and all could see! God is so good! One last one that I might have told you about before but is so good it bears repeating. My dad was on his way home from work, and our car died. There was no saving it. My dad didn't know how to tell my mom because if he didn't have a way to work, then he couldn't make money, and without money, no bills get paid. He always gets home at dinner time, so he figured he would tell her when the kids left the table after dinner. During dinner, there was a knock on the door. When my dad opened the door, it was a neighbor. My dad and this particular neighbor had exchanged words before and they weren't exactly friends. This is another reason why what happened next was such a miracle. The man handed my dad a set of car keys. My dad was so confused. He asked the man what this was for, and he said, you need a car. My dad said, yes, but how do you know I needed a car? I just got home, I didn't tell anyone yet. The neighbor said he felt he was supposed to come over to the house and give my dad the car keys. His wife doesn't need a car, so they don't need two. The vehicle is a gift to my parents. If my dad got another car and wanted to return that one, he could, but they were not expecting it back. It wasn't a loan. They were giving the car to them free and clear. My dad didn't know what to say. God is so good. He ALWAYS provides.Where has God been providing in your life? What have you been attributing to good fortune that has really been the work of the Good Lord above?

Whats Going on in the Body of Christ:Is that the two streams (SOUR WINE vs. NEW WINE) have formulated as a Stream of death (with those stuck underneath the apparatus of Religion/Death and then the Stream with those who came over into LIFE) And NEW POWER!  So naturally- all the prophetic voices of ALL FIVE-FOLD operating under the spirit of religion are releasing DEATH into the atmosphere over America because they were listening to the demons on their vessels they hadn't been delivered of yet in their bloodlines! AND THEY WERE SO SURE they were correct! Yet, had God honored their words this nation would be in a world of hurt right now!  THANK GOD for the few good men/women who continue to press into God OBEDIENTLY! Doing whatever God tells them to do so that we can move at the higher levels.SO you see- the MACRO/MICRO spells set in place by the occult were used for the good of America.  The Lord used words of death (released by the occult) to hold back words of death by those proclaiming to be Gods when in reality they have been serving the devil.  Matter of fact, I stopped listening to some speakers/voices because of the spirit of death/bitterness/fear in their voices/hearts.  I sensed it and thought – what are they afraid of?  There is NO fear in love.  And I knew God was a God of prosperity/happy endings and that HE ALWAYS took care of His own!  So their messages STOPPED resonating with me.  And I got away from them but didn't understand why until 2 years ago.  It was because they operated under death. Support the show

As we celebrate Holy Week, let's remember together with joy the provision of our Good Shepherd, who voluntarily sacrificed His life on earth simply out of love for us. (John 10:11-21) **** Welcome to Walking in the Word, the biblical teaching arm of the Women World Leaders podcast. My name is Julie Jenkins and I am so glad you have joined us today as we delve into scripture together. As I record this, it is Holy Week – the week that Christians all over the world intentionally remember, commemorate, and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All that we are, our lives, and our futures are owed to God's amazing grace and the events we celebrate this week. As I grow, definitely older and hopefully wiser, I become more in awe of Jesus' death and resurrection and all that they mean for us. I pray that you intentionally take the opportunity this week to reflect on where you are in your walk with Jesus. I pray that you ask Him what He wants you to learn today. I say “today,” because, in this life, it is simply impossible for us to learn and know everything about God. But when we ask Him to show us what He wants us to learn today, we can trust that He will guide us – and give us the nuggets of wisdom that we need to live a productive and joyful life for Him. Because you are listening to this podcast, it is clear that you are listening to God. You are willingly working to grow in Him and follow Him obediently. And I want to share a feeling I have deep in my heart that He wants you to know right now: your efforts are making your God smile. He knows your days are not always easy. He knows it isn't always convenient for you to still your thoughts and focus on Him. He sees you. He loves you. And He is cheering you on. So even as you reflect this week on Jesus, know that you are in the forefront of HIS mind at EVERY moment! You don't have to take my word for it…because He tells us this Himself in the Bible. Today's teaching comes from John, chapter 10, verses 11-21. As we study together, I know you will get a deeper understanding of what it means to be a sheep under the care of THE good Shepherd. Before we dive in, let's pray… Dear Most Holy God, thank you doesn't ever seem enough, but it especially doesn't seem enough during this – the holiest of weeks. We offer you full reign over our spirits as we take time out to intentionally hear from you as we open your Word. Open our minds and hearts so that we may fully understand what you want us to know today. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen. Last week as we studied together, Jesus declared Himself the gate. This was in reference to the then widely understood care of sheep. The person who acted as a gate in the sheepfold was fully in charge of allowing only the sheep's caretakers in and keeping the thieves and robbers out. We learned that Jesus, our gate, is our protector, always keeping watch over us. Jesus stands alert, ready to keep intruders from our lives. Our responsibility is to always turn to Him as our authoritative source. This teaching came on the heels of the Pharisees throwing the man Jesus had healed, the one who had been blind from birth, out of the temple for boldly speaking the truth about the man Jesus, who healed him, and declaring that Jesus must be from God because no one else could miraculously heal as He had. In today's teaching, we learn more about Jesus as He shares that not only is He the gate, but He is also THE Good Shepherd. Let's begin in John 10:11 from the New Living Translation:  11 “I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep. 12 A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don't belong to him and he isn't their Shepherd. And so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock. 13 The hired hand runs away because he's working only for the money and doesn't really care about the sheep. Jesus is the good Shepherd. The fact that He declares Himself THE Good Shepherd and not A Good Shepherd underscores that He is uniquely qualified and capable. There are no other shepherds like Him. And as He declares himself the GOOD Shephered…let's see what He means by using the word “good.” Of course, Jesus IS morally good…we know He never sinned. But good means so much more than that – it means that Jesus is the beautiful Shepherd; He possesses all we can imagine that is right for the job of protecting and caring for the sheep - He is loving, attentive, smart, powerful, and gracious. He is THE GOOD Shepherd, unlike any we have ever known or will ever know.   Jesus contrasts Himself to a hired hand, who runs when he sees a wolf coming, abandoning the sheep as he looks out for himself. Can you relate? As Christians, we are all shepherds of someone – we all have sheep to lead. We may have children, lead ministries, or have others who look up to us in our personal life, on social media, or in our workplaces. Think about who you have been called to shepherd. Now…think about HOW you shepherd them. Are you willing to put YOUR life on the line for those you lead? I often hear people bail on their responsibilities, saying something like, “I don't get paid enough to do that.” Or, “When push comes to shove, I need to look out for number one.” I'm not here to cast judgment; if I were, I would be pointing the finger at myself. But when we think about it – who in their right mind gives up EVERYTHING for the good of someone else? And, let's be clear, that OUR Shepherd, THE GOOD SHEPHERD, not only sacrifices for those who are sweet and kind and productive, but He sacrifices everything for ALL of us…no matter our demeanor, our sin, or our nasty attitude. Jesus, your Good Shepherd, counts you worth His while to give up everything. Yes…that makes Him unique. And that should humble and awe us. Jesus continues, saying not only will He ALWAYS be there to lead, guide, and protect us, but He always do this while FULLY RECOGNIZING who we are – faults and all…Verse 14… 14 “I am the good Shepherd; I know my own sheep, Jesus KNOWS you! And, yet, Jesus LOVES you! Intellectually, we understand the concept of unconditional love. But I don't think there is a human alive who can fully comprehend the depths of unconditional love. I love my husband and my kids, but there are days…okay…I won't go there. Suffice it to say, I am not spiritually mature enough to fully harness the power of love that God has gifted me. But I try every day. I confess every day. And I THANK God EVERY DAY that despite MY faults and intentional sin, He still hasn't given up on me. And He never will. He IS MY Good Shepherd. Jesus continues, and this next line gives me hope… I know my own sheep, and they know me,  Jesus tells me that the longer I trust Him, hang around Him, and yield to Him…I will learn to know Him better! Praise God! Have you ever met someone you just really want to be like? My daughter is a fashionista. She dresses to the nines on a strict budget – I want to be like her. And do you know what? When I hang around her, I up my game. Kimberly Hobbs is one of the most gracious and loving people I know. And because I work with her day in and day out, I have learned to be more gracious and loving. When we spend time with others, we become more like them. And when we hang around with Jesus – THE GOOD Shepherd – we WILL come to know Him more and we will up our game – becoming more like Him. And if you thought THAT takeaway was thrilling…just listen to this next one…Jesus says… I know my own sheep, and they know me, 15 just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. Believer…Jesus knows you and promises that you will know Him JUST AS He knows God and God knows Him. Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit – are three peas in a pod! They are BFF's forever…and Jesus, seemingly nonchalantly, invites us to their party. Does that not blow you away?? AND…not only does Jesus invite you to His party…as the Good Shepherd…He will give HIS LIFE so that you can come!! …verse 15 So I sacrifice my life for the sheep. NOBODY made Jesus die. Yes, He was killed, but He could've jumped down from that cross at any moment. Jesus CHOSE to GIVE His life…as our Good Shepherd…so that we could be freed from the thieves and robbers – so that we can leave behind all the turmoil that sin causes us in our lives…so that we can strip off our dirty old clothes and put on robes of righteousness and enter into the greatest party ever – the one that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are hosting! And even though YOU will be the honored guest…you will REJOICE that ALL of the SHEEP that the Good Shepherd has called and who have responded…will ALSO be honored guests. Jesus says…  16 I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one Shepherd. Our good Shepherd – Jesus Christ – is gathering His sheep. He was as Jesus spoke these words in real time and He continues to today. He began with His sheep of Israel – His chosen nation. But then He proclaimed that there is only one flock – and He is the ONE, true Shepherd. There are indeed other sheep. Sheep who look different than us but have the same Shepherd we do. And if Jesus loves those sheep enough to die for THEM, is it too much to ask that we love them enough to work with them in unity? Let's reflect together on Jesus' next words… 17 “The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again. 18 No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.” THAT is what we remember this Holy Week! Our Good Shepherd has offered us freedom by choosing to lay down His life. He alone has the authority and power to lay down His life and to take it back up again. Jesus CHOSE to die for you and me. He CHOSE to endure the pain and suffering so that we could be relieved of the eternal pain and suffering we are owed. Jesus was not a martyr, He died a death of substitution, so we wouldn't have to. We truly have a reason to celebrate and to fall on our knees in awe and thanks to our Good Shepherd. As you walk through this week, will you remember Jesus' sacrifice? Will you quiet your soul and block out the noise around you to listen to His voice? Will you strive to learn more about who He is? Will you strive to become more LIKE Him? Verse 19… 19 When he said these things, the people[a] were again divided in their opinions about him. 20 Some said, “He's demon possessed and out of his mind. Why listen to a man like that?” 21 Others said, “This doesn't sound like a man possessed by a demon! Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?” Let's pray… Most Holy God…most loving Jesus…you alone can open the eyes of the blind. Yet you alone can do so much more. Thank you for opening our eyes just a little wider today. Thank you for allowing us to see a little more of your heart. God, we know that if we saw the whole scope of who you are, we would be struck dumb…we simply couldn't handle the glory! But despite the vast expanse between your glory and our dirty rags, you love us. Thank you for making a way for us where no other way was possible. Thank you for inviting us into your kingdom, to celebrate at YOUR party. Thank you for allowing us to know you so personally. We love you and we commit ourselves to growing more in your likeness every day. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

July 18th 2021 (3rd in Re-Turn series after Earl) 2 Chronicles 20:1-23 Return Requires RELIANCE PRAY Thank you for gathering us, thank you for loving us and giving us your son and your word that we may know you. This morning would you help us have a proper understanding of our need for you. Forgive us for self reliance and not trusting you, help us to RELY on you... and RETURN to how you want us to live both FOR and WITH you... When God tries to get your attention, HE ALWAYS has a good reason. 2 Chron-20 I haven't been able to stop thinking through this YEAR how I don't want to miss whatever it is the Lord is trying to teach me (and us)... and not just because I don't want to have to go through a nother wave of the class... I want whatever it is that God wants for me. Are you like that, would you agree... if sovereign, almighty, loving, merciful and gracious God has something for you, do you want it? we should -The problem is we get focused on the NOW and the “BACK TO NORMAL” we forget that the best it ever was, all the good or plenty, all the freedom and abundance was always only ever GRACIOUSLY by God's design... like it or not we are reliant! -For the nation of Israel God works in exile, captivity, he works in our lives through difficult circumstances, job loss, illness, relational breakdown, pandemic to help us more accurately see how RELIANT we are on HIM!... All that it was, was because of HIM for Israel and so for us, SO like them RETURNING REQUIRES RELIANCE... Maybe you are thinking, I know I am reliant!! It's desperate... but maybe like me so often, you need a reminder of how IN NEED we really are & how then we should live! This is our 3rd week in our RE-TURN series. In this series we are looking at KINGS and EVENTS from 2 Chronicles, that were recorded for GOD'S PEOPLE IN EXILE: (((1&2 Kings-How did we get here 1&2 Chronicles- Can we restore what we had?))) So what are we looking to RETURN to? Are we looking to get life back to all that we provided and produced... cause apart from GOD's GRACE that was nothing The lesson here is about: FULL RELIANCE on GOD... Israel ((LIKE US)) needed God's PROVISION and for Him to PRODUCE... All the Blessings we want, all the end of restrictions, all the restoration of relationships, provision of work, physical healing, purpose in life, SALVATION FOR A LOVED ONE, emotional peace.. IT IS and was ALWAYS and ONLY FOUND IN THE LORD. If that is what we want, then RELIANCE on the one who can provide & produce is Required & Jehoshaphat is our example Read along with me vs.1-2-Now you might be thinking.. OT Narrative, sounds about right. But for Jehoshaphat and Judah this is a surprise. For starters Jehospaphat had been doing a good job trying to get rid of idol worship, pointing the nation to God, he had an alliance with the King of Israel (remember the kingdom is divided) and that guy was not good and God wasn't pleased with that. But he had recently been promoting justice, putting in good government and judges and promoting worship ... Now all of a sudden this Coalition from across the Jordan valley is coming in fast and ready to battle. (((MAP- they got real close real fast, so no time to prep 35iskm away))) Notice this isn't a small COALITION vs.2 a great multitude, that's the Bible's way of emphasizing they had NUMERICALLY OVERWHELMING SUPERIORITY -This is the stage for us to learn 3 important PRINCIPLES of RELYING on GOD. vs.3-4 Here is the first practice that RELYING on GOD requires... we must 1.) SEEK THE LORD (vs.3-4) hopefully you can see that all 3 times in these 2 verses Exp. SEEK THE LORD.. Everything has just changed, over night, and it's bad -Jehoshaphat's reaction is a PERFECT EXAMPLE for us!.. Now it says he was afraid, which is understandable, but he doesn't stay in this place of worry and fear and anxiety. It says He set his face to seek the Lord, There is a seriousness in his pursuit of divine help... PAUSE: is that what we do when trouble comes? He seeks: “the LORD” title there, all caps, is the word Yahweh- which reminds original readers of who He is seeking specifically The Promise keeping God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob... that is who Jehoshaphat, in this moment where God has made his DEPENDANCE very clear... that is who he is seeking to RELY ON. Now he proclaims this immediate fast throughout all of Judah (vs.13 tells us this even involved kids) EVERYONE is to SEEK THE LORD, that is why it's recorded 2 more times in vs.4, incase we weren't sure what they were doing when trouble came, In chp.19 they had made an alliance with another king instead of going straight to the Lord, the other king didn't want to hear from the Lord, he was punished, Jehoshaphat was spared, he is not risking anything this time around they were seeking the Lord to Rely on Him Illus. What a great example for all of us “To humble oneself before God in the face of insurmountable odds humanly speaking and to trust him fully for deliverance are the essence of biblical faith” Andrew E. HIll Jehoshaphat's reaction was right: PROBLEM--->SEEK THE LORD What is your reaction time like when it comes to seeking the Lord? I am one of these people when the gas light comes on in my car to tell me it is low, I immediately am looking for a gas station, no risking it. Sadly I am often quicker to respond to get gas for my car for something that might be a problem... then I am to get on my knees, call out to God, SEEK THE LORD for help when difficulty, challenge, trial, fear or worry enter my life. App. It's important we don't miss the urgency and the desperation Jehoshaphat shows us in his pursuit of the Lord here. If we are going to SEEK THE LORD and that word seek=desire, search, beg of the Lord... It can't be something that we kind of do when we remember. Relying on the Lord requires FOCUSED: sincerity, determination to receive favor, blessing and help from GOD... Jehoshaphat wants to make sure God is with Him How do we do that? Definitely by SEEK HIM IN HIS WORD know who He is and how he works and learn what He wants us to know about Him. SEEK HIM IN PRAYER Jehoshaphat will show us this more in a minute, but making our needs known to God, calling out to Him, laying our worries before Him and “inquiring of the Lord” all help us RELY ON HIM, NOT US You can't seek the Lord without His WORD and PRAYER- key to relying What is the GREAT MULTITUDE, coming at you today? Is it temptation to sin, is it fear of the world's pressures on your kids, is it worrying about your job, your marriage, your health, the health of a loved one, is it anxiety for our country and the political climate of the world right now? The only source of HELP is the LORD, the Promise keeping God of Abraham, Isaic and Jacob, who loved us enough to send His son even while we were still sinners to make a way that we may be saved... We are reliant on God, if we are to live how HE wants us to, we must recognise our RELIANCE & HH SEEK THE LORD So vs.5 a National prayer meeting is healed and the King prays, vs.6-12 This leads us to the second practice Required for us to Return to Relying on the Lord: 2.) DEPEND ON THE LORD (vs.5-12) This is a prayer of DEPENDENCE Exp. Our requests of God reveal our helplessness and display our faith in the one who is always able- What we ask of God demonstrates what we believe about God! So Jehoshaphat prays, notice some things about His prayer, that help us see what HE BELIEVES about GOD and show us how he is depending on the Lord. In vs. 6 and 7 Jehoshephat asks rhetorical question that emphasize the certainty of these things, see them: He is God of their fathers (faithful for generations) He is GOD in Heaven, in His hand are power and might and none is able to withstand... that's just vs6 7-11 Jehoshaphat reminds God of His faithfulness and their desire to honor God and His promise to care for His people by repeating the idea from ch.6 when solomon dedicated the temple you will hear and you will save, vs.10-11- he essentially prays BUT GOD... this TRANS JORDAN COALITION this great horde returns good with evil and has now come to destroy us... Which leads us to the display of dependence, a beautiful acknowledgment of RELIANCE in vs.12 we are powerless against this great hoarder that is coming against us. We do now know what to do, but our eyes are on you I love the honesty and the accuracy. Jehoshaphat's self awareness of his and the nation's ability is on display... They need SUPERNATURAL / DIVINE intervention... they are FULLY dependent! The enemy is a day's journey away... there is nothing they can do but DEPEND Illus. We know dependence, our kids are dependent on us, we are dependent on income, maybe you are dependent on someone specific to help you... maybe you have an unhealthy dependency on something... But all those things can be lived without... We can't LIVE / SURVIVE, without the Lord CLOSEST: illustration I can think of is rock climbing when I was younger and you fall and you are dependent on that rope... but even that can frey or break or be done wrong... BUT GOD... Well “He is God in heaven, he rules over all the kingdoms and peoples of the earth, in His hand are power and might and there is no problem to great for Him HE is RELIABLE App. Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Jehoshaphat knows this & so declares to God his position and need The number one enemy to reliance and dependence is PRIDE and a false sense of independence. The problem is we think: our strength, wisdom, might, creativity, drive, ability will be enough and if not, then we might look to God. But that means we aren't RELYING on the Lord, we aren't exercising faith, we aren't allowing the Lord to move, lead or love us... as we should and need Him to. We need to pray verse 12, words like Psalm 16:1 need to come from us all the time Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. Not in SELF, in YOU GOD I DEPEND and RELY... So if Our requests of God reveal our helplessness and display our faith in the one who is always able-What does your/ my prayer life say about our reliance on God? We all have a great hoard coming against us, but are we learning not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. as Philippians 4:6 says?We need to TALK TO GOD and declare our DEPENDANCE and express OUT LOUD to ourselves and to God our RELIANCE... exercise our faith Jehoshaphat didn't know what to do, but His eyes were on the Lord, are ours? or do we need to confess our sinful desire of independence and declare to God... I NEED YOU, I depend on you oh Lord...Psalm 121:1–2 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. HH Jehoshaphat shows us Relying on the Lord requires us to fully Depend on the Lord vs.13, Meanwhile... this national prayer meeting is going on and the Lord brings a prophet, vs.15-17 Now I don't know about you, but that sounds AWESOME: Don't be afraid x2, the battle is not yours but the Lord's, stand firm, The Lord will be with you! Oh and here is the time and location the Lord will do this. Listen: The assurance of God's presence is more than a theological statement, it's a source of strength. The Lord is with you friend... That should grow faith, confidence in the one you RELY on... here is what we are to do....3.) STAND FIRM IN THE LORD (vs.13-23) Exp. God hasn't asked them to do anything but have faith and STAND/WAIT The Battle is the Lord's, HE IS WITH THEM! JUST Stand Firm in the Lord Psalm 147:10–11 His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, 11 but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. This is king JO-& Judah!! -vs.18-19 they worship the Lord for HIS PROMISE PRESENCE with them -20- Jehoshaphat is calling on the people to have faith in God and you will find Him to be faithful. That is for us to... we need to trust HIM, STAND FIRM, don't run, don't' look for other help, but TRUST the LORD WAR CRY TIME...vs.21 This is full reliance, this is complete Dependance, this is STANDING in the LORD in FAITH, their secret weapon is worship! vs-22-23 This is amazing, the BATTLE BELONGS to the LORD, He is in control and He set an AMBUSH of INFIGHTING, that led to total self anilaition for this coalition army. Jehoshaphat and Judah only had to RELY on the LORD... have faith, the Lord is faithful, the Lord is always faithful for those who rely on Him Illus. Really the only other story like this is ripture is in Exodus 14, Moses has the nation of Israel at the edge of the red sea, Egypt is coming in fast Exodus 14:13–14 And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” App. This is how God's people fight battles, this is how we face trials, difficulties, worries, temptation, hostility, sickness, sadness, humanly impossible odds... -We STAND FIRM in FAITH, SEEKING THE LORD, DEPENDING ON HIM... we rely on Him and worship Him...highlight in vs.5&17 the battle is not yours but God's... the Lord will be with you This is why WORSHIP is so key for believers in trials, look at what they sing in vs.21... They remind themselves of God's character which echos words of David and Solomon from 1Chr16 and 2Chr5... Trusting God, STANDING FIRM in FAITH in Him doesn't mean doing nothing, RELIANCE is hard to do. Our sinful flesh tries to tell us to intervene, but it is the Lord we need to intervene! So we worship to remind ourselves and each other of who THE LORD is who is with us and fighting for us. Now the Lord doesn't always swoop in and make perfect right away or even this side of heaven... every difficulty... but that doesn't change how we are to view Him, worship Him, depend on Him and seek Him Our most impossible problem is just an example to remind us of HIS VICTORIUS power over our ultimate problem of SIN... and Jesus won that battle for us! if we have put our faith in HIM...and you can. He battled, we just BELIEVE The winds of discouragement, the waves of sin, the crush of difficulty and heart break may be overwhelming... but the LORD is what we need, Psalm 37:7a says Be still before the Lord And wait patiently for Him And like the nation of Israel, while we wait, while we STAND FIRM IN THE LORD... We worship Him, we pray to Him... we strengthen ourselves with the TRUTH of HH HIM, so we can Stand firm in the Lord GOD IS ABLE, GOD IS ALWAYS__RELIABLE... we need to rely on Him. Today maybe you need to: -Confess your reliance by actively seeking the Lord: Word & Prayer -Be reliant by depending on the Lord in Prayer: not resting on your self -Wait in faith, standing firm in the LORD: and worship Him, look to Him, remind yourself of Him... that He will take care of you That we may return to know and live the RELIANT LIFE He has for us... PRAY: great hordes coming / Seek you/ depend on you/ stand firm... in the hope

Increasing Your Trust In The LordProverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”In this episode I would like to talk about a practice that I had been doing for awhile and just decided I would start doing again because I found it to be fruitful, so I wanted to share it with all of you.  Right now we are living in a time of turmoil.  This pandemic has been going on for a long time and there is little end in sight.  Everyone in our country is struggling for one reason or another right now.  Then we also have everyday life that is hard enough to live with.  Being able to trust God through all of this is no easy feat.  Trusting that there is light at the end of the tunnel is difficult on a good day, but what about when a relationship you envisioned would last forever comes to an end?  How do you find trust that things will work out then?  What about when your spouse of over 10 years is cheating on you and leaving you for someone else?  How do you go on trusting that God will work all things for your good?  What about all of the uncertainty in the world right now?  How do you go about trusting in the Lord when you are unsure if you will have a job next month; if your loved ones will contract a virus you can't protect them from; or if the business you worked so hard to build will have to close its doors forever?  I know these are real fears for so many people right now.  I know there are also a lot of people that are fearing the unknown.  What if our kids don't go back to school in the fall, what if church services are never the same, when can we hug our loved one again, etc.  I know fear is prevalent is so many people these days.  How do we trust God with all of this?  How do we trust Him with our future, with our safety, with our financial security? The practice that I have been doing for a number of months now is saying the Litany of Trust almost every morning.  I had been saying the Litany of Humility and found that was a great practice.  I thought I would search online to see if there was a different litany/prayer I could do to help increase other virtues.  I found the Litany of trust.  I think this practice is helpful for a couple reasons.   First, we are told in the Bible that God really likes it when we want something so badly we are willing to ask him for it everyday.  In Luke 18:1-8 Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.   He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.   And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.'  “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don't fear God or care what people think,  yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually come and attack me!'”  And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says.  And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?  I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”  Jesus is telling us not to give up, He wants us to keep asking our Father for what we need.  Second, I think saying the Litany frequently works because this prayer breaks down trust into many different parts.  This is important because a lot of times we don't know why we don't trust, or perhaps we don't understand the various ways that we hesitate to trust God.  The Litany of Trust is broken down into two parts.  First, it is asking God to deliver you from all the ways you may be scared to trust God.  Ways that you are probably not even aware might be affecting your trust.  These are thoughts that you may be having, but at a more subconscious level.  Sometimes we know we are struggling, but are not sure how or why.  There are 15 things in this prayer that you are asking Jesus to deliver you from. From the Belief that I have to earn your love…Deliver me, JesusFrom the fear that I am unlovable…Deliver me, JesusFrom the false security that I have what it takes…Deliver me, JesusFrom the fear that trusting You will leave me more destitute…Deliver me, JesusFrom all suspicion of Your words and promises…Deliver me, JesusFrom the rebellion against childlike dependency of You…Deliver me, JesusFrom refusals and reluctance in accepting Your will… Deliver me, JesusFrom anxiety about the future… Deliver me JesusFrom resentment or excessive preoccupation with the past… Deliver me, JesusFrom restless self-seeking in the present moment…Deliver me, JesusFrom disbelief in Your love and presence…Deliver me, JesusFrom the fear of being asked to give more than I have…Deliver me, JesusFrom the belief that my life has no meaning or worth… Deliver me, JesusFrom the fear of what love demands… Deliver me, JesusFrom discouragement…Deliver me, JesusWhen I first read this prayer I was not aware that any of these had to do with me trusting in God.  I was not aware that I needed to be delivered from any of these beliefs until I read them out loud.  What about you?  Do you need to be delivered from any of these beliefs? The second part of the prayer has 14 things that you are telling Jesus that you put in His trust. That You are continually holding me, sustaining me, loving me … Jesus, I trust in you. That Your love goes deeper than my sins and failings, and transforms me …Jesus, I trust in you. That not knowing what tomorrow brings is an invitation to lean on You … Jesus, I trust in you. That You are with me in my suffering … Jesus, I trust in you. That my suffering, united to Your own, will bear fruit in this life and the next …Jesus, I trust in you. That You will not leave me orphan, that You are present in Your Church…Jesus, I trust in you. That Your plan is better than anything else … Jesus, I trust in you. That You always hear me, and in Your goodness always respond to me …Jesus, I trust in you. That You give me the grace to accept forgiveness and to forgive others …Jesus, I trust in you. That You give me all the strength I need for what is asked …Jesus, I trust in you. That my life is a gift … Jesus, I trust in you. That You will teach me to trust You … Jesus, I trust in you. That You are my Lord and my God … Jesus, I trust in you. That I am Your beloved one … Jesus, I trust in you.Again, I had no idea how many ways we could trust in God, or how many ways we could be holding our trust back from God.  Re-read this list.  Where are you struggling to trust the most?  What are you not struggling with, maybe you read some of these and you think to yourself that you are doing well with trusting that to God.Both these lists have some pretty tough things on them.  I know this and I am not telling you this to make you feel bad about all the ways you are failing to trust God.  This is hard for all of us! We are all learning to trust.   I am telling you this to let you know that you are not alone.  To let you know that even though you may be struggling with some aspects of trust, you may be knocking it out of the park with other aspects of trust.  Trusting God is a journey.  God is not looking for our perfection, he is looking for our desire to be holy.  We are not responsible for making our prayers fruitful, that is God's job.  God is just looking for us to show up again and again and ask him for His help. We are told in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that God said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.”  We can only succeed in trusting the Lord through His grace.  He does not need us to know how to trust Him, we only need to ask him and His power will be perfected in our weakness.  I challenge you to show up each morning for one month and ask God for the trust that you seek.  Even if you do not think you have time for the whole prayer, even if you just pick one sentence, do something each day to ask God to increase your trust.  I promise you, He will show up and come through for you, He ALWAYS does!  I would love for any of you that take this challenge to reach out to me after the month and let me know how it went.  Do you feel any different?  Do you notice you are trusting more?  Do some aspects of trust come a little easier for you now?  You can send me an email to Catherine@findingtruenorthcoaching.com I know this habit of reciting the litany every morning has made a profound impact on my life and I know it will on your life as well if you give it a try.Dear Heavenly Father I ask that you bless all those listening to this episode today. Lord we ask that you help us increase our trust in you. Lord we want to trust you please help us. There are so many ways in which we can put our trust in you thank you for sharing these ways with us. Lord you are amazing and we love you. We asked all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus' holy name, Amen.

Religion is popular because - amongst other things - it gives a framework of a philosophy of life and living instead of groping around without any foundation or value. People often mistake Christianity for simply another religion in the marketplace, never considering that Jesus NEVER intended to spark a "religion", per se, but to demand absolute trust and faithfulness in himself. And in his parables, he beautifully and cleverly describes his Kingdom and its influence. He ALWAYS knew that the Kindom would change the world, and the world couldn't stop it. That's what Pastor Kevin Price talked about in his message that you can listen to below. But in this week's podcast, Sean has a few questions to satisfy his curiosity. In this episode, Pastor Joshua Bulger and his daughter, Minister Aleya Bulger-Terrones continue their powerful message regarding godly preparation and promotion. If you missed the previous episode, make sure to go back and watch it. The Lord promotes and honors those that demonstrate faithfulness and walk in humility while serving others. He ALWAYS has increase on His mind and those qualities and Christ-like character set the stage for God to trust you with greater things at a new level. It takes God to go up and it takes God to stay up. When He sees your readiness for promotion, there is no force that can stop it. Wait for His perfect timing and resist the temptation to “self-promote.” Trust God's faithfulness and watch what He will do. Scripture Reference: Philippians 3:10 Proverbs 15:33 James 4:10

HERE I COME. Because God loves us, He ALWAYS fulfills His Word despite our weaknesses, doubts, and second-guessing. Mary based her response on her confidence in the source of the information; not on her ability to understand God's plan. It is always our faith and belief that falters, never the Savior's promises. He ALWAYS fulfills His promises, we only need to wait for them to be fulfilled. We have to WAIT on the Lord. But this isn't a passive, sitting around, twiddling our thumbs type of waiting (does anyone beside me say "twiddling my thumbs" anymore??). It's a kid-waiting-for-Santa-to-come type of waiting. And that's what today's lesson is about...waiting. Actively waiting. Expectantly waiting. Faithfully waiting. Questions: 1. How can you increase your faith in the Savior's promises to you? 2. What does it mean to you to "wait on the Lord?" Don't miss this important production update. Yvette and Brooklyn Hampton discuss the plans for finishing the film.  PLEASE PARTNER WITH US TO FINISH PRODUCTION ONSCHOOLHOUSE ROCKED: THE HOMESCHOOL REVOLUTION!   Dear Friends and Family, Thank you for your amazing support, encouragement, and prayers over the past several weeks. God is doing BIG things and we are so excited to share them with you. We asked you to pray for the Lord to guide us, and He has! We are SO excited to tell you that in a few weeks, we are driving west from Georgia to Washington to complete the filming of Schoolhouse Rocked with Heidi St. John! The remainder of what needs to be filmed to complete the movie is the narrative portion. We have interviewed several fantastic homeschool experts and families, but in order for Schoolhouse Rocked to be an entertaining and compelling film, there must be an engaging and relatable storyline to tie all the interviews together. That’s where Heidi comes in. We will join Heidi at the Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center in Vancouver, Washington to talk about the ups and downs, benefits and blessings, challenges and victories of homeschooling. For those of you who are not familiar with Heidi, she is a homeschool mom of 7 and an outspoken advocate for truth. She is dedicated to changing culture through the faithful application of God’s Word. She is a popular speaker and author, and host of the Heidi St. John podcast. You will be BLESSED by her important part in Schoolhouse Rocked! BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!  As you can imagine, this cross-country journey and filming in Washington is going to be quite costly. God has been faithful to provide for production up until now, through people like yourself, as well as a few awesome sponsors, and we know He will continue to do so. In order to complete filming with Heidi, we need to raise approximately $30k, in the next few weeks, for crew, travel, equipment, and other costs. It’s a big number, we know. But, we also know that our God is really big and that where He guides, He ALWAYS provides! Our trip is planned, our family is packed up, and we are going! Will you help us get there? Here’s how YOU can help –    PRAY~ God hears our prayers and is faithful and able to answer. We have continuously seen Him at work throughout this important project.  DONATE~ Make a tax-deductible donation of any amount. SHARE~ Share this message with friends and family who believe in the importance of homeschooling. We are thankful for you, the homeschool community, who continue to walk this journey with us through prayer, encouragement, and financial support. We are in this together and can’t wait to update you on God’s amazing provision! In this episode I sit down with my good friend Stephen Paddock. While Stephen and I have a few years between us age-wise, it's been an honor to watch him grow from a high school runner into adult life. He ALWAYS grabs life by the face and dives in head first. Stephen breaks a lot of the millennial stereotypes and gives me hope for the future generations. As an example, he refused to get a smart phone until his mom made him get one before college. Additionally Stephen has done a lot of work for local charities and has been contributing back to his community since his mid-teens.  This is not just a discussion about running or a runner, this is a discussion with a person who life is dominated and guided by lessons learned while running. Stephen brings a lot of resilience to real life that has been earned when he is pushing the limits of his mind and body on the trail or road. I hope you enjoy this conversation and are as inspired as I am by Stephen's unfolding story.

As our soul and body align with our spirit, His River of Life flows through us unhindered; our behavior begins to line up with our identity. Not only do we experience freedom, healing and dependence in our own being, but we become available and engaged, enthusiastic and sacrificing, to bring His life to those in need according to His plan. So as knowing God is developing that personal relationship with Him on all levels, Knowing His Ways, understanding Him is sharing His goals, desires, and activities here on this earth: Doing His Acts. Knowing God is a Process Though you can learn from others' experiences, and it is advisable to do so, your teacher, counselor, guide and encourager is Jesus Himself. Give yourself time—be patient with yourself. You're exactly where God wants you to be, and He will not let you miss out on anything He has for you. His desire is for you to know Him, and He ALWAYS gets what He wants. Knowing God, Our Part We are in cooperation with God in this endeavor; He is not raising up slaves, but sons, to rule, reign and fellowship with Him. So part of our training as joint-heirs will be to learn by experience how to cooperate with our Older Brother in every endeavor. The Sovereignty of God God is a jealous God, and does not delegate His sovereignty, His authority to anyone else. The ONLY spiritual authority in a believer's life is God Himself. God is NOT your co-pilot, He's your Pilot; He doesn't want the Guest Room, He wants the Throne Room; He doesn't come to help out, He comes to take over! So if you want to get along with God, don't sit in His chair—AND DON'T LET ANYONE ELSE SIT IN IT EITHER! The Act of Waiting There are habits we can develop, opportunities that we can respond to that will cooperate with God in His plans for His revealing. The fastest and most effective habit we can learn is the Act of Waiting.

Perseverance only grows in the soil of difficulties and pain. God can take some of our darkest hours and leverage them for our greatest growth. He may or may not provide us a way out, but He ALWAYS promises a way through.
