This podcast is all about what has gone on since the last podcast was released on June 1 of 2022. I discuss format changes it's going to happen on this podcast along with the new schedule being released every two weeks instead of every week. I would like you to think about a few things before the next podcast what brings you the most joy in your life?  What's one or two things that you can do that would bring you the most happiness question And also what are one or two things you would like to change for the year? I also discussed coming up with one word that would describe the year. I've kind of landed on the word, it is transition for me.  Now, you don't have to do this for the whole year matter of fact just do it for 3 months at a time.  And I guess my overall message for this podcast is that we all struggle and have things that we have to fight through let's not focus on the pain or frustration but focus on what we can do to get through the struggle to get through the pain. What is God trying to teach us through this?  Always look at each situation as a way to grow and improve as a person Psalm 37:23-24 “The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 10, 2022 9:09

Which spiritual or emotional season are you experiencing right now? Just as we experience the changing natural seasons, we are also subject to changing experiential seasons in our life. We can find great encouragement in identifying which season we are currently experiencing. There is just something about knowing that we are not the only ones who are going (or have gone) through especially difficult times. We also experience seasons of great joy and celebration. One thing we can know for sure—no matter which season we are experiencing, it will change. Life is not static. The changing seasons of our lives are not haphazard but ordained to accomplish His purposes in our lives: “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven” (Eccl. 3:10 NKJV). Although we generally prefer one season to another, there are pros and cons within each that bring a nice overall balance to our lives. https://www.levelyourselfup.com/

What are our beliefs? A belief system is an ideology or set of principles that helps us to interpret our everyday life. These beliefs are shaped and influenced your life. Stop Stinking thinking  Positive mindset- it's not just about being positive its finding the good in the bad How is life happening for you – Life is happening for you not to you. Mindset and our internal self-talk You have to want to change, you have to want to see the good Where to they come from? Environment Events - The birth of your child, promotion, a death of a loved one. Knowledge Past Results Future Vision How to Replace Limiting Beliefs with Empowering Ones 1. Pick a limiting belief and think about how that belief has held you back and worked against you.  Write it down! 2. How has this limiting belief hurt you? Think of some evidence that proves that the belief is false. Spend some time thinking about this until you know that your limiting belief was not based on reality or FACTS. 3. Replace your limiting or negative belief with an empowering and positive one.  You let go of your old limiting belief, admit that it was false and limiting you, and you start believing in your heart and in your mind that people are generally honest by nature. 4. Remind yourself of your new beliefs every day Several times a day. The more you consciously remind yourself of your new beliefs, think and feel them in your core, the faster you will be able to replace the old ones. The more you practice this, the sooner your subconscious mind will start inducing corresponding empowering thoughts, feelings and actions. Our belief systems are powerful and affect almost everything we think, feel and do. When we make the time and effort to closely examine them, we are able to single out the ones that prevent us from living the life we deserve to live.

Health Its not just about diets but about Sleep, Breathing, Resting, Quality of Food, Drinking Water Rest Rest is one of the greatest gifts God gave to mankind. Rest is synonymous to peace. Naturally, we link rest with sleep. But I think we should look at rest more like we of stop doing what we are doing AND start placing our trust in peace and love. to start BEING the person we are called to be to reset our being. Like resting in God. It is placing trust and faith in him. In the work that's He has already been done. I think daily we should rest in our God to spend with him that can take forms in many ways. Reading, Gardening, Walking, Sitting or however you find peace and tranquility. What about thinking how we can stop stressing and worrying ? To learn to work each problem the best we can then once we have done that we stand trusting life will all work its self out or as we rest more will be revealed for us to do. But not worried or stressing Breathing To keep it short We often don't breath like we should during covid I was taught we don't breath correctly and they have me doing breathe exercises. With a deep breaths in through your nose and blowing out slowly threw your mouth like blowing threw a straw do that 10 times. The Wim Hof technique One round of the Wim Hof Method breathing technique includes these steps: Take in a strong inhalation through the nose. Let out a relaxed exhalation through the mouth. Repeat for 30 breaths. On the 30th breath, exhale to 90 percent and hold for as long as you can. When you feel your body really needs to take a breath, inhale fully and hold for 15 seconds before releasing. The basic technique involves three consecutive rounds of the above. Eventually, the breathing may feel like a wave flowing through your lungs, but this will take practice. Proponents say the technique can lead to: increased immunity better sleep reduced stress heightened focus https://youtu.be/tybOi4hjZFQ or https://www.wimhofmethod.com/breathing-exercises Water Most of us don't drink enough water and we are in a state dehydration we should drink around 1 gallon of water every day. Signs of mild or moderate dehydration include: Thirst Dry or sticky mouth Not peeing very much Dark yellow pee Dry, cool skin Headache Muscle cramps Signs of severe dehydration include: Not peeing or having very dark yellow pee Very dry skin Feeling dizzy Rapid heartbeat Rapid breathing Sunken eyes Sleepiness, lack of energy, confusion or irritability Fainting We tend to think that dehydration looks like fainting, severe headaches, and being hooked up to an IV. But the truth is that the majority of us (more than 75% of adults!) are living with chronic mild dehydration, which means our bodies are being forced to operate with less fluid than they require. A decrease in your hydration as little as 1-3% can result in a measurable cognitive loss and not only can it lead to the ailments listed above, it can also lead to more serious health concerns and disease. Quality of Food It is high in sugar and calories and low in nutrients and fibre. It can, over time, lead to insulin resistance, triglycerides, harmful cholesterol and other health issues. Processed foods are very addictive because companies do research to see what tickles our taste buds the most. They incorporate it into their foods to encourage us to eat it more. It contains artificial ingredients like preservatives and additives that are not nutritious and are harmful to health. Sleep 6-8 hours of sleep is important we need all the sleeping cycles not just partial night sleep, while we sleep we heal, we lose weight, our body rebuilds it self. Matthew Walker offers five key tips to help your future be filled with an easier sleeping process: Try to maintain regularity. Go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. We need darkness in the evening to allow the release of a hormone called melatonin. Melatonin helps us maintain a healthy sleep time. Therefore, try to dim down half the lights in your home in the hour before bed. Keep your sleeping environment as cool as possible. An optimal temperature is about 68 degrees Fahrenheit Your brain and body need to drop their core temperature by about two or three degrees Fahrenheit to initiate good sleep. Hence, you'll always find it easier to fall asleep in a room that's too cold than too hot. Avoid alcohol and caffeine. Alcohol is perhaps the most misunderstood drug when it comes to sleep. People believe it helps them fall asleep. That's not true. Alcohol is a type of sedative, which means alcohol is basically just knocking your brain out. You're not putting it into natural sleep. Research suggests that alcohol will fragment your sleep. So, you'll wake up many more times throughout the night. Finally, alcohol also blocks dream sleep. Caffeine is also a problem. Many of us know that caffeine can keep us awake as it is a stimulant. However, few people know that even if you fall asleep fine and maybe you stay asleep after a coffee, the depth of your deep sleep will be lessened. Do not stay in bed, awake. If you haven't fallen asleep within 20 or so minutes, or you've woken up and you're finding it difficult to fall back asleep, don't stay in bed awake. Your brain quickly learns an association between your bed and being awake. Therefore, get up and go to another room. “The shorter your sleep, the shorter your life. The leading causes of disease and death in developed nations—diseases that are crippling health-care systems, like heart disease, obesity, dementia, diabetes, and cancer—all have recognized causal links to a lack of sleep.” – Matthew Walker or check out https://www.getstoryshots.com/books/why-we-sleep-summary

This week I talk about the 4 battlefields we all struggle with Some days it is totally obvious but other days it is subtle or not even noticeable. We are in a battle. It may not be one that we can see, but none-the-less, it is real. Emotional battles- dealing with love, pain, disappointment, and hurt feeling. Intellectual battles of the mind - our self talk, feeling loved, fears and most of all over thinking. Physical battles of what to eat, how to eat , pain in our body's, cancer, other healthy issues. Spiritual battlefield. Ultimately this is an eternal life or death battle. Christians find their security in Christ; however, there is a real, day-to-day battle of flesh versus spirit which affects our peace of mind. Half the battle is the awareness OF THE battle. This is not a “one and done” fight. It is an ongoing daily fight. We don't get to “get it and set it”. Become aware of the impact of the daily voices and the daily choices! You are in a battle but you are not alone– "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."-Philippians 4:6-7 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.I do not give you as the world gives.Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Were are afraid to look at things differently and so sometimes we have to give plants opportunities to grow when they don’t look good so all these are analogies for things that we think about and focus on in our minds to see new insights on how we deal with things to help us change our way of thinking.

This week in the podcast I talk about taking action to produce clarity. Taking small steps will create clarity by either going in the wrong direction if you can realize this is not right. Each step can and will move us to our goals most of life we need to figure things out not everything will work for us as it has for others we need to adapt their steps if we are following someone else's steps and tweak them to fit ours. Most of us forget to enjoy the journey and embrace who we are and find the answers within. sometimes like I share in the podcast we have to step out of our comfort zone to live and thrive. Do a few of these already? Silence/Meditation Affirmation Visualizations Exercise Reading Scribing My suggestion for you would be to try to wake up 30 minutes earlier and do all of the SAVERS for 5 minutes each. As you become more comfortable waking up earlier and you begin to want to spend more time in your miracle morning,  Customize it to fit you and your taste. 066 Action Trumps Words

This week on the podcast I talked about how actions are important. But our words bring life but the action we take is what molds the words into life. Words without action will not create results if you want results anything you do you have to take. If we’re not careful in taking action then we can start having wishful thinking. Wishful thinking is that just that it’s a wish. But when we want and desire, have a passion for things, then we create plans whether we realize it or not to bring them to life. whether it is planting a garden, building a birdhouse, whether it is cleaning your house how about buying a new car all of those things have plans and actionable items. Often times we fail for lack of plans but sometimes we fail for lack of action or taking the wrong action. I believe we should take action on what brings us peace and joy for the level where we are at, maybe some of us are not ready for the same level of action others are taking. But that does not mean that we should not take any action so let us level up and take action and take pride in our words. https://www.levelyourselfup.com

You know I think some of the times that we don't value our friends until they're gone. He truly was a gift. In my life, and a friend. So join me this week, as I just share three things that stood out to me as who he is, as a person. There's plenty of more that he demonstrated in his life, that I wouldn't even have time to put in this podcast. I did. Attach a link to the sermon, he had prepared since he was an elder at a church. On the podcast this week, I shared with you three ways that you can adjust or Grow from setbacks. I share with you three things you can do if we're having setbacks. And most of us are having setbacks in our life with coronavirus. You know there is a lot of people out of work, things we don't understand or are afraid of. But now is not the time to slumber now's not a time to be afraid. Now is the time to maybe look at things a little bit differently. So here are three ways that we can do to grow from having setbacks, 1 Ask yourself what have you learned from this situation and just write make out a list and write some things down things you've learned from your setbacks. 2 You can ask Do you need a course correction, maybe you've set some goals, maybe you haven't. And maybe you want to create new goals. So now is the time to ask Do I need a course correction on what I'm trying to achieve in this world. 3 You can look through the things that you wrote down about what you have learned and maybe the things you need to do for course correction. See if you have any fear around that. And if you have fear around those goals, or around those actions you need to take, then you need to put that fear under your feet and kill it.

Hey, you might have noticed this podcast did not get sent out on a Monday mornings like it normally does. And that's because I was not happy with the recording that I had so I decided today rather than release it, I was okay with it being a little late. And so I came home and after spending some time with my family getting some stuff done around the house. I recorded this podcast. I just want to share with you that you are loved with a great love that there are mercy and grace. At the foot of the cross. And I just want to remind you that when all that is going on and you feel lost and broken. We can look at what's happening. Take some perspective, some inner reflection that maybe this time is just a time of reflection that we need to reset ourselves and to get our eyes to our first love. Then we can look at what's needed. You know, do we need physically needing a thing do we spiritually need something. Does our family or our loved ones need something? What is the need at hand? Not a want, but what's the real need, then we can start praying for how to get those items, then we need to look at what's next what's on the horizon, what do we need to prepare for and also talk a little bit about strongholds. If you wonder what a stronghold is in your life, you can just ask what negative thing has a strong hold in your life? Then I share with you, Romans 8:17 and in Ephesian 3:37. That the spiritual forces of darkness are always on the clock and committed to cause and make our lives miserable. So grab the breastplate of righteousness and that glorious shield of faith in that all-powerful sword of the Spirit and that mighty helmet of salvation. All the while stand there with your feet fitted for the gospel of peace and stand your ground, let's not have any more negative strongholds on your watch. God bless.

    March Reset

This week on level yourself up. Episode 59, we discuss the reset in March, or what I want to call the march reset. So with that, we're talking about how we need to trust God, to get us through these times that we need to seek His kingdom first and everything that he's doing for us that he will provide. I shared Matthew chapter six verses 26 through 34. So let us just pray for Israel for the world. And for the United States for the country that we live in, that God would heal our lands that we would repent first. And God would heal our lands that we would seek his face. I do believe this shaking is to warn the church, and the world that we need to prepare. I don't believe it is the end of the world. Matthew 6:24-34 25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? 28And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, 29yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. 30But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ 32For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34“So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today. I also discuss a little about the book I am reading The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World.

I also share phone app  called otter that allows you to record your notes on your phone, and then email them to you or text them to other people. https://otter.ai   Quote Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. Adjusting Expectations

So this week in review of the last few weeks I've been pondering about how I set myself up for failure through expectations of myself, that I impose on other people so I share with you some of my thoughts about expectations and how we need to give grace and mercy to ourselves. Stop Anxiety by Adjusting Expectations Old expectations trigger your cortisol, but you can adjust them. Anxiety is caused by our own expectations more than we realize. For example, a pothole in the road causes huge anxiety if you drive right into it, but if you see it in advance it’s manageable. So anxiety is caused by the expectation of a flat road when that fails to fit the facts. Of course, expecting potholes all the time would not relive anxiety either. Realistic expectations are the key to a smooth ride. But how can our expectations be realistic when the world is unpredictable? “When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are.” ― Donald Miller, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years: What I Learned While Editing My Life “We were promised sufferings. They were part of the program. We were even told, 'Blessed are they that mourn,' and I accept it. I've got nothing that I hadn't bargained for. Of course it is different when the thing happens to oneself, not to others, and in reality, not imagination.” ― C.S. Lewis, A Grief Observed Romans 8:28 ESV And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Expect discomfort we will have resistance Failure is part of moving forward Evaluate what is going on never for reflect with trusted mentors or friends When making decisions think our plan for obstacles anticipate problems What can you control? Focus on what you can't control. Rest and have fun sometimes it's good just to get away from your problems. Keep a positive attitude Be open minded to new Approaches except constructive criticism Be responsible take the responsibility for what is your fault and if it is not your fault just leave it there and don't blame others how can you move forward. Quote from Richard Branson “entrepreneurs should learn to embrace failure with open arms and deal with obstacles by breaking them down into their smallest components and trying to then positively affect each part." https://www.levelyourselfup.com/
