Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession- to the praise of his glory.”   Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”   Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. Today, we will focus on three verses on parenting from The Message Bible. A refusal to correct is a refusal to love; love your children by disciplining them. (Proverbs 13:24 MSG) God-loyal people, living honest lives, make it much easier for their children. (Proverbs 20:7 MSG) Discipline your children; you'll be glad you did—they'll turn out delightful to live with. (Proverbs 29:17 MSG) Because God was the first Parent, the Bible is clear that discipline is a natural and necessary part of the process. It is important to remember that discipline is not punishment. It is guiding, building into and yes, sometimes correcting them. God says He disciplines us because He loves us. If He did not care, He would not care if we changed either. Regardless of how you were raised, you can look to God to teach you how correct and balanced discipline can benefit both you and your children in a spirit of love and grace. God disciplines us because He loves us. You are His delight and He desires your relationship with Him to become more loyal and more honest each day. You can reflect that same deliberate guiding love to your children as You receive from God. Pray: “Thank You, Father, for discipline and correction. Help me when I get it wrong and help me to see when I get it right. Guide me, balance me, in Your love and grace. As above, so below, Amen.”

Message for 1/14/2024 "Don't Rely on Flesh" by Justin McTeer. *All verses are NLT unless otherwise noted* Genesis 2:15-17 - The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. 16 But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden— 17 except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.” Jeremiah 17:5-8 NASB - This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord. 6 For he will be like a bush in the desert, And will not see when prosperity comes, But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, A land of salt that is not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose trust is the Lord. 8 For he will be like a tree planted by the water That extends its roots by a stream, And does not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought, Nor cease to yield fruit. Jeremiah 17:5 - Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. Proverbs 23:4-5 - Don't wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. 5 In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle. James 4:13-16 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” 14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it's here a little while, then it's gone. 15 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”16 Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil. Jeremiah 17:5-6 NASB - This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord. 6 For he will be like a bush in the desert, And will not see when prosperity comes, But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, A land of salt that is not inhabited. Jeremiah 17:7-8 NASB - 7 Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose trust is the Lord. 8 For he will be like a tree planted by the water That extends its roots by a stream, And does not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought, Nor cease to yield fruit. Matthew 11:28-30 - Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Romans 8:10-16 - And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. 12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” 16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children. Galatians 5:22-23 - But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Ephesians 3:20 - Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20 MSG - God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ezekiel 36:26-27 - And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations. John 3:6-7 - Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. 7 So don't be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.' Matthew 11:28-30 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Jeremiah 17:8 NASB - For he will be like a tree planted by the water That extends its roots by a stream, And does not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought, Nor cease to yield fruit.

Are you grieving the loss of a loved one? Are you feeling lost in life? Are you trying to find yourself again? In this episode I am talking about how the grieving process can be difficult but how it can lead to finding our purpose and the meaning of life. Not only that, in grief, we learn to arrive at hope. The beginning of our journey with God's consciousness is to rest in hope. In hope we are no longer identified with loss. That in this situation I am realising who I am in Christ, that yes I am hurting but I can reach acceptance as I focus on the cross and Jesus's love. By focusing on the cross, I realise deep water, my calling, my purpose, and I can move towards it. Transform loss into meaning. God's plan for us can be realised by us as we go within to explore deep water. “Knowing what is right is like deep water in the heart; a wise person draws from the well within.” (Proverbs 20:5; MSG) God bless you

Moses: …God..show me your plan… God's response: I will go with you. And I will give you victory. Of course, no one likes to be kept in the dark. God has given Moses an assignment to lead His people from Egypt to the land He promised them. This was a hard job for Moses. He asked God for His plans. The way He intends to orchestrate the mass exodus, the emigration, of His people from Egypt. As a matter of fact, in any profession, you will need a plan in order to execute your job effectively. Of course, God has a plan but it was not as Moses or any of us will view things because God does not think the way man thinks; He does not work the way man work. (Isaiah 55:8-9) God responded by informing Moses that His presence will go with Him and give him rest. “The Lord replied, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.'” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭33‬:‭14‬ ‭NIVUK‬‬ Further, in the same chapter, God showed Moses a sign of His greatness; also to assure Moses of His guaranteed presence and rest He will always have. I'm so many ways, we can relate to this story. We desire to know God's plans, His ways, His purpose, His assignment for us as a child, student, adult…, We put the cart before the horse. Invariably, when we put the cart before the horse; our movement get thwarted; because something done in the wrong order will not be effective. God's order is -seek My presence -love me with all your heart -Fellowship with me -Commune with me And as we take time in God's presence, being conscious of His presence, as apostle Peter mentioned in 1 Peter 1:18 and I quote - “Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God…” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬-‭21‬ ‭MSG‬‬ God will open up to us, as a book, page by page, the purpose and plans / ways to execute the assignment He has given us. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/abimbola-arawande/message

No matter what you think you may have done, as long as you're alive on this earth, you have the chance to repent. Don't delay, repent today! We are not guaranteed another breath and the Messiah is coming soon.

(English) In this message Ps Adrian talks about how God can use us in these 3 points: (1 Peter 2:9 NIV) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (Acts 6:1 NLT) But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food. (Acts 6:2-4 NLT)  So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. (3) And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. (4) Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word.” (Acts 6:5-7 NLT) Everyone liked this idea, and they chose the following: Stephen (a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit), Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas of Antioch (an earlier convert to the Jewish faith). (6) These seven were presented to the apostles, who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them. (7) So God's message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were converted, too. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11 MSG) God's various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit. God's various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit. God's various expressions of power are in action everywhere; but God himself is behind it all. Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! The variety is wonderful: wise counsel clear understanding simple trust healing the sick miraculous acts proclamation distinguishing between spirits tongues interpretation of tongues. All these gifts have a common origin, but are handed out one by one by the one Spirit of God. He decides who gets what, and when. 1. Everyone gets in on it! 2. Everyone benefits (1 Corinthians 14:1 NIV) Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. 3. Holy Spirit Gives You Gifts

Have you heard of this? “it's God's fault.” How often do we blame God for our situation? It's God's fault that I was sexually abused, it's God's fault that I lost my loved ones in a car accident. I do understand we grieve when we experience a loss. But, pain and grief must not become our suffering, our story, who we are, and who God is. What is the primary reason people do not invite guests to their worship services? • 31% - I don't know. • 20% - They refuse my invitation. • 17% - I don't know anyone to invite. • 11% - I'm just comfortable asking people to church. • 4% - I don't think it is up to me to bring people to church. • 2% - I'm too busy serving at church on Sunday morning. • 15% - Other reasons. “God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things” Luke 5:17:26 (NIV) God uses people who make themselves available But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15) (NIV) God uses people who dare to be different. “Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. (Matt 5:14-16). (MSG) God uses people who follow Him completely and don't give up. “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. (Luke 9:23) (NIV) • Deny yourself • Take up the Cross Daily • Follow Me God uses people who are willing to take a risk. The same good news that came to you is going out all over the world it is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God's wonderful Grace. The verse of the day for June 14th is from John chapter 3 verse 17. This is a beautiful promise from God's Word that Jesus came to save, not judge or condemn us. Sometimes we assume being a follower of Jesus means being a good person. God knew our sin, but didn't send his Son to cast judgement but share salvation. John 3:17 Verse of the Day for June 14th (ESV) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. (KJV) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (MSG) God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. (NIV) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (NLT) God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. Today's Spiritual Reflection and Devotional When I read John 3:17, I am always struck by the compassionate heart of God. He didn't come to this world to condemn us or to find fault with us. He came to help us. He came to put the world right again. And that is such a beautiful thing. We live in a world that is so full of hurt and pain. There is so much division and turmoil. But God reminds us that he is not content to leave us in that state. He came to heal us and to bring us back into right relationship with him. And that is such good news for all of us. No matter what we have done or where we find ourselves in life, God is always ready and willing to help us get back on track. All we need to do is turn to him and ask for his help. And he will be there for us, just as he has promised. Prayer for Today Heavenly Father, we thank You that You did not send Jesus into the world to condemn it, but rather to save it. We acknowledge that we are sinners in need of a Savior, and we praise You that You provided that Savior in the person of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that You would use us as Your instruments to proclaim the Good News of salvation to a lost and dying world. Help us to be bold in our witness, sharing the message of hope with those who are trapped in a cycle of sin and despair. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Today's Cup Devotion: “I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.” (Philippians 3:12-14 MSG) God does not call us to a life of perfection. He desires us to have a willing heart. It's not about perfection, it's about progress. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO STRIVE FOR PROGRESS AND NOT PERFECTION? Progress = making gradual steps forward; moving ahead in a process, change, or development. Perfection = the most favorable condition or highest level. It means: without flaws or defects; faultless; complete; pure. To strive for progress, not perfection, means that you should appreciate and be proud of your work. You shouldn't be focused on what something could or should be; instead, focus on the small steps, the positive ways to improve yourself, and moving forward. Today, I would like to encourage you to focus on doing what God has called you to do, as best you can without fear of consequences for imperfections. How an Honour Culture Will Release Supernatural Favour In A Post Lockdown World Lessons from the foot of Mt Sinai In this current season, good church leaders are fighting for unity, making peace, casting vision, building stability, setting direction, securing safety, re engineering community….? How can the church best support their leaders during this season? Like the Israelites emerging from lockdown/captivity, the church is now on the move and we need to be lead by the Spirit of God and by God's appointed leaders….-ONE OF THE KEYS for our success as we transition into this post lockdown world…is how we/the church responds to LEADERSHIP>>>>>The Israelites really got this wrong…and we can learn from their mistakes and be prepared to lean into Godly leadership during this next phase of our journey as a church. (AS THE CHURCH) I actually believe that God is going to use this season to re-instate an Honour Culture back into the life of the local church….a lot of churches have lost this powerful kingdom principle….but just like, daily devotional time, prayer, tithing, serving, Sabbath, when we embrace an honour culture, something supernatural is released into our lives that would otherwise never be enjoyed….it is another dimension of kingdom favour…Tithing releasing supernatural kingdom favour on your financial world Sabbath releasing supernatural kingdom favour on your timeHonour realising supernatural favour on your relational world 3 Keys to help us reinstate a healthy honour culture into the life of our churches:To honour well we must understand PRESENCEExodus 19:9 MSG“God said to Moses, “Get ready. I'm about to come to you in a thick cloud so that the people can listen in and trust you completely when I speak with you.” When God wants to establish trust between leadership and the church…he will come with his PRESENCE and God will speak to leadership in such a way that the people know that it is the voice of God himself speaking. If you want to hear from God, make sure you align your life with leadership that prioritises PRESENCE…today more than ever, leaders need to be immersed in the presence of God!But as followers, we must also be aware that a key component of a leader's role is to make time for moments of encounter with the GOD. To honour well we must understand PATIENCEExodus 32:1 MSG“When the people realized that Moses was taking forever in coming down off the mountain, they rallied around Aaron and said, “Do something. Make gods for us who will lead us. That Moses, the man who got us out of Egypt—who knows what's happened to him?””What will the church do while leaders are fighting for unity, making peace, casting vision, building stability, setting direction, securing safety, re engineering community….?In this text we see some very powerful leadership lessons: 1. The danger of lobbying, and self appointed leadership - Don't let your impatience motivate you to appoint a new leader. Self appointed leadership, is a recipe for division, disaster and ultimately the unnecessary death of whatever it is that is being stewarded buy the leader, church, business, family, etc…Activity is not the same as productive, do SOMETHING is never better than doing the RIGHT THING…sometimes the RIGHT THING is waiting! People NEED to be lead…if you are a leader, make sure you being leadership…Aaron was the God appointed leader inthte absence of Moses, but when challenged by the people brought NO leadership….To dismantle God's plan, disparage God's leaders…..”That Moses….who knows what happened?” If you can upset God's appointed leadership you can dismantle God's entire agenda…You don't need to inflate the reality of the leadership you have, but you can bring stability to God's plan by honouring it. To honour well we must understand THE LEADERS HEARTAfter the people convinced Aaron to build an idol, and rebel against God's law for them…God was set on killing them all, BUT Moses advocatrd for the people, for he had a heart that was toward those that he was leading….Moses once again, saves the people….BUT…Moses then has the levites execute 3000 Israelites as punishment for their disobedience! So…Moses privately saves the nation but publicly slaughters 3000 people…We often never get to see the hard work done by our leaders in the back rooms, closed doors of their world, doing the hard work to ensure we are safe and, healthy secure, moving forward…….we can only see the leader through the lease of her actions…this tension is actually in irresolvable BUT we can chose to either trust her HEART or not….

• Joshua 6:1-5,MSG- GOD spoke to Joshua, “Look sharp now. I’ve already given Jericho to you, along with its king and its crack troops.• Here’s what you are to do: March around the city, all your soldiers. Circle the city once. Repeat this for six days. Have seven priests carry seven ram’s horn trumpets in front of the Chest.• On the seventh day march around the city seven times, the priests blowing away on the trumpets.• And then, a long blast on the ram’s horn—when you hear that, all the people are to shout at the top of their lungs.• The city wall will collapse at once. All the people are to enter, every man straight on in. • What if God's trying to show you the next thing He's got for you, but it's on the other side of a whole lotta go again? • I’m sure most of us would be, come on God, why do we have to do it this way? • Maybe this is why in v.10, God said, tell them not to speak so much as a whisper. • So day one, they got up, went and obeyed the Lord, then went back to their camp. Then the next, go again. • The reason Paul could say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” is because he had gotten the revelation of, whole lotta go again. • Philippians 4:12-13,MSG- Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty.• Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. • Think about standing in front of this massive structure, I’m sure most of them have never seen anything like it. • And their leader tells them we’re going to march around the city 6 days, then on the 7th day we’re going to march around it 7 times. • Sometimes we just need to be reminded to make room in our thinking, in our lives for the Almighty to lead, to speak, to encourage us in our faith. • The thing is, most of the time we don’t get spiritual realities the first time, still confined to our humanity.• I Kings 18:41-43 NKJV- Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.”• So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees,• and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “ There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” • We are the people of God. Jesus meant what He said when He told us all things are possible for him that believes. • But we actually have to believe Him. Sometimes right in the face of uncertainty, maybe even impossible, but God specializes in impossible. • Once we make up our mind, it’s time for commitment and determination. And most of the time this means a whole lotta go again. • Ephesians reminds us that because we’ve heard Him and been taught by Him, we are to put off our former conduct, the old man, and be renewed in the spirit of our mind, so we can put on the new man which was created according to God. • Isaiah 43, This is what the Lord says,   what I’ve done in the past is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new.• See, I have already begun! Don’t you see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. • Romans 8:11,MSG- It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, He’ll do the same thing in you that He did in Jesus, bringing you alive to Himself?• When God lives and breathes in you and He does, as surely as He did in Jesus, you are delivered from that dead life. With His Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s! • It’s in times like we’re in right now that we actually believe what God tells us; “Go Again” • At what point do we honestly believe, actually expect truths like this on Romans. Expect Him to do the same thing in us He did in Jesus. • Let the Holy Spirit give you a fresh, yes I can attitude. • Something God has helped me see over the years is successful, overcoming people allow challenges to stretch them, not stop them. • GO AGAIN • We are the people of God. Heirs to the Kingdom of Heaven, joint heirs with Christ. • This is Paul’s point in Philippians, regardless of the situation, we can do all things through Christ. • This means, if you’re saying, “I’m believing God, but,” it’s time for you to stop the double minded talk. • God said a double minded man is unstable in all his ways. • James teaches us that our tongue is the rudder of our ship, of our life. So what we’re saying matters. • Im convinced this is why God told Joshua to tell the people not to say a word while they were walking around the massive city. • In light of Paul’s challenging situation, he continues encouraging the church to follow his example. • This means, refusing to allow our old, carnal, human nature, our past, and yes, our current situation to interfere with what God is saying, right in the face of what most are calling questionable circumstances. • We are the people of God. Jesus meant what He said when He told us all things are possible for him that believes. But that means we actually have to believe Him. • Remember Romans 8, When God lives and breathes in you and He does, as surely as He did in Jesus, you are delivered from that dead life. With His Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s! • 2 Timothy 1:7,AMP- For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, of cowardice, craven and cringing and fawning fear, but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. • Let the Holy Spirit give you a fresh, yes I can, whole lotta go again, attitude. If God be for us, who can be against us. • 2 Corinthians 2:14,NKJV- Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. • Triumph is a victorious, successful outcome. • This was Paul’s mindset as he continually encouraged the church to not give up, but stay in faith. To go again. • Triumphant, victorious overcomes are regular people who continue trusting Jesus not matter what. • Keep in mind, triumph is a successful ending to any conflict. • Go walk around the massive city walls, go again, go again.• Go to the sea and look for rain, go again, go again. • 1 Corinthians 15:57-58,AMP- But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory, making us conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm, steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord... • This kind of life is an on purpose life. This is how Paul could continually remind us that we can do all things, we can make it through all thinks. • We actually have to believe the Lord’s words over whatever situation. • Even though Jesus has made us His victorious people, we will never rise above our own understanding of who we are in Him. Overcomers or grasshoppers? • A great example is the 12 leaders God sent to spy out the promised land. • 10 out of the 12 could only talk about the situation they would have to face instead of what God said. • The majority focused on everything except what God said. • At what point does what God say become the standard we use to evaluate our born again lives? • Here’s the thing, the longer we reason against what God’s word says, the more comfortable we get with that lifestyle. • We are the people of God. Heirs to the Kingdom of Heaven, joint heirs with Christ. • One of Paul’s reoccurring themes throughout his letters is that we are can do, victorious, overcomer in Christ. And many times it is on the other side of a whole lotta go again.

MANIFESTED GLORY 31 Trusting the Word of God in Crisis Pastor Sally Snow – 7/26/20 I. TRUSTING THE WORD 1. The Word of God is proven! Proven: demonstrated by evidence to be true or existing; tried and tested; found to be true 2 Sam 22:31-33 NKJV As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. 32 "For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? 33 God is my strength and power, And He makes my way perfect. Jehovah Gumelua – The God of Recompense Lion of the Tribe of Judah And the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world! Ancient of Days The Son of God Redeemer The Great I AM JESUS And He is CALLED… the Word of God! 1. His name is called the Word of God. John 1:1-3 NKJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. John 1:14 NKJV And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 2. We can trust the Word of God because His word is truth and will never end. John 17:17 NKJV Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. Num 23:19 NKJV "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Matt 24:35 NKJV Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Ps 138:2 NKJV For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. Mal 3:6 NKJV "For I am the Lord, I do not change…” Heb 13:8 NKJV Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 3. The Word gives me patience, comfort, and hope! Rom 15:4 NKJV For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. 4. The Word of God is alive and powerful. Heb 4:12 NKJV For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. MSG God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. 13 Nothing and no one is impervious to God's Word. We can't get away from it — no matter what. Rom 1:16 NKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes Rom 10:17 NKJV So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Matt 4:4 NKJV 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" 5. When I become a doer of the word it has the power to strengthen me for the crisis. Matt 7:24-25 NKJV "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 6. The Word is our armor and the sword of the Spirit. Eph 6:12 Protecting power! Proactive Power! Helmet of salvation 2 Cor 5:17 NKJV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Breastplate of righteousness 2 Cor 5:21 NKJV For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Belt of Truth John 8:32 NKJV And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Feet Shod 1 Cor 15:3-4 NKJV …Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures… Shield of faith Prov 30:5 NKJV Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. MSG "Every promise of God proves true; He protects everyone who runs to him for help. How did Jesus quench the fiery darts? It is written - Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God! It is written - you shall not put the Lord your God to a foolish test! It is written - that you shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve! The Sword of the Spirit – which is the Word of God! 7. The word makes us fully equipped for serving Him! 2 Tim 3:16-17 NKJV All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 8. Angels respond to the Word of God in crisis! Ps 103:20 NKJV Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word. 9. God cannot and will not ever break His word or promises! Heb 6:13-18 MSG When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it to the hilt, putting his own reputation on the line. 14 He said, "I promise that I'll bless you with everything I have — bless and bless and bless!" 15 Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. 16 When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they'll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up. 17 When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee — 18 God can't break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable. Isa 55:11 NKJV So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Ps 107:20 NKJV He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. 10. His word promises that He will keep me in crisis. Isa 43:1-3 NKJV "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior Ps 68:20 NLT Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign Lord rescues us from death. Matt 6:31-34 NKJV "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matt 6:11 NKJV Give us this day our daily bread. 11. Absolute trust in His promise and His faithfulness to bring it to pass will cause me to receive it! Heb 11:11-12 NKJV By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age because she judged Him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude — innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. Rom 4:18-21 MSG When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made the father of a multitude of peoples. God himself said to him, "You're going to have a big family, Abraham!" 19 Abraham didn't focus on his own impotence and say, "It's hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child." Nor did he survey Sarah's decades of infertility and give up. 20 He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, 21 sure that God would make good on what he had said. Ps 61:2 NKJV When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Habakkuk 3:19 AMP The Lord God is my strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army. He makes my feet like hinds feet and will make me to walk, not to stand still in terror but to walk and make spiritual progress upon my high places of trouble, suffering, and responsibility. Isa 26:3 NKJV You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You Because he trusts in You.

Today, we will share three verses on parenting from The Message Bible. A refusal to correct is a refusal to love; love your children by disciplining them. (Proverbs 13:24 MSG) God-loyal people, living honest lives, make it much easier for their children. (Proverbs 20:7 MSG) Discipline your children; you’ll be glad you did—they’ll turn out delightful to live with. (Proverbs 29:17 MSG) Because God was the first Parent, the Bible is clear that discipline is a natural and necessary part of the process. God says He disciplines us because He loves us. If He did not care, He would not care if we changed either. The first and third verses were about our discipline, but the middle verse speaks to how our disciplined life affects our children and our relationship with them. Regardless of how you were raised, you can look to God to teach you how correct and balanced discipline can benefit both you and your children in a spirit of love and grace. Read again: A refusal to correct is a refusal to love; love your children by disciplining them. (Proverbs 13:24 MSG) God-loyal people, living honest lives, make it much easier for their children. (Proverbs 20:7 MSG) Discipline your children; you’ll be glad you did—they’ll turn out delightful to live with. (Proverbs 29:17 MSG) God corrects you because He loves you. One of the many ways He shows you love is by disciplining you. You are His delight and He desires your relationship with Him to become more loyal and more honest each day. You can reflect that same love to your children as You receive from God. Pray: “Thank You, Father, for discipline and correction. Help me when I get it wrong and help me to see when I get it right. Guide me, balance me, in Your love and grace. As above, so below, Amen.”

It's Time | One (Luke 9:57-62 MSG) On the road someone asked if he could go along. “I'll go with you, wherever,” he said. Jesus was curt: “Are you ready to rough it? We're not staying in the best inns, you know.” Jesus said to another, “Follow me.” He said, “Certainly, but first excuse me for a couple of days, please. I have to make arrangements for my father's funeral.” Jesus refused. “First things first. Your business is life, not death. And life is urgent: Announce God's kingdom!” Then another said, “I'm ready to follow you, Master, but first excuse me while I get things straightened out at home.” Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can't put God's kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.”- Move on from old history. (Isaiah 43:18-19) “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”- Move on from old habits. (Isaiah 58:6) “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?” Move on from old hurts. (2 Corinthians 5:17-18) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ…I can't start the next chapter of my life if I keep re-reading the last one.Time to Make a Change (Matthew 4:17) From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”1. It's time to get closer to God. (James 4:8 NLT) Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. 2. It's time to get honest with a friend. (James 5:16 NLT) Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. 3. It's time to get in tune with my purpose and passions. (Galatians 6:3-4) If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else. 4. It's time to get on doing something greater than myself. (Ephesians 2:10 MSG) (God) creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. I can't go back and change the beginning but I can start where I am and change the ending.

Ezekiel 37-11:14 (NLT) Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel. They are saying, ‘We have become old, dry bones—all hope is gone. Our nation is finished.’ Therefore, prophesy to them and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: O my people, I will open your graves of exile and cause you to rise again. Then I will bring you back to the land of Israel. When this happens, O my people, you will know that I am the Lord. I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live again and return home to your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done what I said. Yes, the Lord has spoken!’”There is a common them that runs throughout scriptures and is highlighted in this passage. And it points to one of the most exciting and compelling ideas in all creation. That is hope.GOD IS THE SOURCE OF OUR HOPEHope requires an object, or an anchor for the hope. Hope does not exist without something to fulfill that hopeMisplaced Hope: Relationships, Career, Success, Acceptance/Belonging, Wealth, Health, Drugs & Alcohol, etc.The entire book of Ecclesiastes is about how nothing but God, satisfies our hope.He sent His son, Jesus as a guarantee of that hope. Colossians 1:27 (ESV) “…Christ in you, the hope of glory.”Romans 15:13 (ESV) May the God of all hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.HOPE IS THE ANTIDOTE FOR DISAPPOINTMENTPhilippians 1:6 (ESV) And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.Romans 8:24-25 (NLT) We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)“Remember, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” – Stephen King, The Shawshank RedemptionRomans 5:3-5 (NLT) We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.3. HOPE ENCOURAGESIsaiah 40:28-31 (NIV) Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.Psalms 3:2-6 (MSG) God! Look! Enemies past counting! Enemies sprouting like mushrooms, Mobs of them all around me, roaring their mockery: “Hah! No help for him from God! “But you, God, shield me on all sides; You ground my feet, you lift my head high; With all my might I shout up to God, His answers thunder from the holy mountain. I stretch myself out. I sleep. Then I’m up again—rested, tall and steady, Fearless before the enemy mobs Coming at me from all sides. ROCKY THEME SONG!Isaiah 43:1-2 (ESV) But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.In all of the passages there is an acknowledgement that the situations that you face will not always be ideal but, take courage! We will overcome!HOPE POINTS US INTO OUR FUTURE2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (ESV) For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.1 Peter 1:3-9 (ESV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.Lamentations 3:21-24 (ESV) But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”You may feel like you are without hope or that hope has been lost. But, despite how it may look or feel, hope is never really gone. When it looked like Jesus was defeated, he rose from the dead proving that nothing is impossible for him. Attach your hope to someone that will not fail.

Working With God We are God's fellow workers Billy Graham said, "The evangelistic harvest is always urgent. The destiny of men and of nations is always being decided. Every generation is strategic. We are not responsible for the past generation, and we cannot bear the full responsibility for the next one, but we do have our generation. God will hold us responsible as to how well we fulfill our responsibilities to this age and take advantage of our opportunities." Our Work is to believe in God's Word! Mark 16:20 (NIV)  The disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it. Isaiah 55:8-11 (NLT) My thoughts [intentions, plans, work, purpose] are nothing like your thoughts [intentions, plans, work, purpose], says the Lord. And My ways [manner, actions, conversation] are far beyond anything you could imagine. 9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts. 10 The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. 11 It is the same with My word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit [it will not return to Me empty]. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper [succeeding] everywhere I send it. 1. You Have To See God's Word As The Answer? Jeremiah 1:11-12 (NASB) The word of the Lord came to me saying, "What do you see, Jeremiah?" And I said, "I see a rod of an almond tree [shaqed]." 12 Then the Lord said to me, "You have seen well, for I am watching [shaqad - watching, waking, hastening, anticipating; to be sleepless, alert, vigilant; on the lookout] over My word to perform it." 2 Chronicles 16:9 (MSG) God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to Him. 2. You Have To Agree With & Confess God's Word With Your Mouth? Hebrews 4:12 says God's word is living and active and sharper than a two-edged [double mouthed] sword. Matthew 6:31, 33 (NASB) Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat? ' or 'What will we drink? ' or 'What will we wear for clothing? ' 33 Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness [God's way of doing things], and all these things will be added to you. The way God works through us and in our lives is by His Word through our lips. When you speak God's Word your confession releases His Voice in the earth.   3. You Have To Continue To Believe That God Will Fulfill His Word! Ezekiel 37:1-12 (NLT)  [The Valley of Dry Bones] The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. 2 He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out [in scripture bones speak of inner strength]. 3 Then He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones become living people again?" "O Sovereign Lord," I replied, "you alone know the answer to that." 4 Then He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say, 'Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! 6 I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.'" 7 So I spoke this message, just as He told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as complete skeletons. 8 Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them. 9 Then He said to me, "Prophesy to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again. I was BORN for this! Ephesians 2:8-10 // For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Grace is God's power in you to do what you can't do on your own. Grace is opposed to earning, but not to effort. Poiema You don't think we have any needs. You did it before and hated it. You don't see yourself the way God sees you. We > Me Every Christian is a minister. 1 Peter 2:9 // You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Every task is Important. 1 Corinthians 12:27 // Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. Every person is unique and needed. 1 Corinthians 12:4-8 (MSG) // God's various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit. The variety is wonderful. Psalm 139:14 // I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

REASON #1: RecognitionOn the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”If I do not recognize the mighty things God has done to bless me, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #2:  For My FoundationFor by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”  (Ephesians 6:8 ESV)If I do not recognize the grace that has allowed me to enter my relationship with God, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #3:  For My New Start“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)I have been given the freedom to start a new life. If I received the gift of this freedom and yet still live in darkness, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #4: For the Gift of God's Word“How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word. I'm single-minded in pursuit of you; don't let me miss the road signs you've posted. I've banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won't sin myself bankrupt.” (Psalms 119: 9-11 MSG)God carefully gave His Word over several centuries and through several writers so that I can be led in the right way. If I do not embrace what He did for me by seeking His wisdom from His Word, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #5: For the Gift of Life“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.  I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalms 139:13 ESV)The passage above is one of the best esteem-builders known. Just think of it. I have been literally formed by Almighty God. He blended all of my cells, molecules, chromosomes, personality traits, talents and all aspects of my life while I was still in my mother's womb. Do I really believe that I am wonderfully made? Do I thank God for my life? If I do not am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #6: For the Gift of Wisdom“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.” (1 Corinthians 2:12 ESV)As I look back on life, do I see a special time that I was able to understand something of great importance, and I didn't know how I could? It was not my norm. It came from nowhere. But it didn't come from nowhere. It came from the Lover of my soul who wants to teach me how to use His wisdom instead the limited wisdom of the world. If I do not seek His wisdom and obey it when I find it, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #7: For the Gift of Peace“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 ESV)Peace is a gift, but will I accept this gift from God? Peace is also a “fruit of the Spirit.” But will I allow His Spirit to speak peace into my heart and mind? If I will, then I will experience a peace that surpasses all understanding. If I will not trust Jesus with what I am struggling with even though He has told me that He will take my burden, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #8: For the Gift of LaughterA cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength. (Proverbs 17:22 NLT)Laughter is good medicine, but laughter must be a fruit of a “cheerful heart.” What does that mean? My heartis described as my emotional center. It is really what I believe and hope for. It is my deepest love, and my deepest feelings. If I do not have this cheer in my heart, is it because I do not believe it, or I do believe it but will not receive what is offered? If I will not receive that which has been granted to me, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #9: For the Gift of Significant People“I thank my God every time I remember you.” (Philippians 1:3 NIV)A wise person becomes wise through their experiences and the experience of others. We don't just become wise without some help. The Lord provides such experiences and people in our life to instruct us, and to form us. If I do not recognize these significant people in my life and thank God for them, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #10:  For the Gift of Parents or Guardians“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. (Exodus 20:12 ESV)Does the honor of my parents or guardians only fall on them if they deserve it? Do I see any condition attached to God's commandment that exempts me from honoring these people? I am simply told to just, “DO IT!” If I will not obey my Heavenly Daddy who tells me to do this, do I really appreciate His perfect love for me? If I withhold giving honor to my parents for any reason, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #11: For the Gift of My Church“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,” (Ephesians 4:11 NIV)Do I thank God for my church, my pastor, and our leaders? Are they ministering to me God's word accurately and shepherding me as they should? If they are this way, am I grateful enough to thank God for them?  If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #12:  For the Gift of God's Friendship“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”  John 15:15 ESVWhat does it mean to be a friend of Jesus? More importantly what does it mean to have Jesus as my friend? If I do not tell Him how much I appreciate His friendship, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #13: For the Gift of DisciplineMy dear child, don't shrug off God's discipline, but don't be crushed by it either. It's the child he loves that he disciplines; the child he embraces, he also corrects. (Hebrews 12:6 MSG)When it comes down to it, God is preparing me for something better when He disciplines me. That is enough of a reason to thank Him isn't it? Will I take a step of faith in my prayers right now and thank Him for what is going on even if I am hurting from His discipline? If I will not, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #14: For the Gift of TrialsCount it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:2-4 ESV)God uses trials in my life to produce steadfastness in me, which also perfects me. It is His process of development. Do I thank Him for His process, even though it may include trials? If not, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #15: For the Gift of the Crown of LifeBlessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.  (James 1:12 ESV)God keeps His promises. He is true to His word. Do I thank Him for the crown of life He has promised to me? If I do not, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #16: For the Gift of LIGHTEvery good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. (James 1:17 ESV)Jesus is the “light” to the world. He gives us light in darkness. Light causes darkness to flee. Do I thank God for the many times He has shed light on my path and directed my steps? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #17: For the Gift of ProtectionEven when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. (Psalms 23:4 NLT)I have been given God's protection from many difficulties that are known and unknown by me. The assurance of God's presence in my life has given me comfort. Do I thank Him only during an apparent threat, or will I thank Him even though I do see a threat coming? If I do not recognize His protection of preventing things that could hurt me, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #18: For the Gift of God's ShepherdingThe LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Psalms 23:1 ESV)God watches over me! What a promise. What a benefit. What comfort. Do I believe this? Do I rely on this? Do I find my comfort in His sovereign oversight of my life? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #19:  For the Gift of God's Complete ForgivenessAs far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. (Psalms 103:12 ESV)Do I retain any thought that God has not forgiven me of sins that I've repented of? If so, I am probably listening to the Accuser's voice rather than the One who I sinned against. God's voice tells me that I am totally and completely washed of my sins and He will remember them no more. Do I thank Him for His complete forgiveness of me? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #20: For the Gift of My FoundationThough the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock. (Matthew 7:25 NLT)Jesus is my foundation, and no storm in life will take Him out from beneath me. Do I recognize Him as my constant and complete bedrock that He builds my life on? If I do not, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?REASON #21: For the Gift of being a Good Shepherd“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. (John 10:14-15 NIV)There are good and bad shepherds and the sheep know the difference. However, the sheep of the good shepherd may take it for granted for they know nothing else. Jesus is my Good Shepherd. Do I take this for granted? Do I forget to recognize how good He is to me? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #22: For the Gift of a Full LifeThe thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10 NIV)Jesus restored that which was lost. What was lost? Mankind lost the intimate fellowship that we once had with our Creator when sin came into the world. But Jesus restored it. Do I thank Him for this restoration? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #23: For Heaven's Treasures that Await Me“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.(Matthew 6:19-21 ESV)Am I storing up treasures in heaven? If so, they await me. Now is the time to store up. Do I thank God for Heaven's Bank that keeps my treasure safe? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #24: For All These ThingsBut seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33 NIV)What did Jesus mean when He said, “all these things?” He meant all things that I worry about or am concerned about for living my life. He said all those things are taken care of by my Father in Heaven. If I worry and stew over things that I think I need but do not have, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #25: For God's Tender care of MeWhen you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. (NIV) Proverbs 3:24Do I thank God for His watch over my life? Do I sleep a sweet sleep because of His care? Do I thank Him for it? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #26: For God's Steadfast LoveLet your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise;  (Psalms 119:41 ESV)I don't use the word steadfast much. What does it mean? It means “resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.” God is all those things to me. He is resolved. He is always on duty. He is firm and unwavering in His love for me. Do I thank Him for this faithful characteristic of His? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #27 For God as My Hope and My TrustFor you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth. (Psalms 71:5 ESV)What can I trust or put my hope in that will never fail me? Nothing is this world can provide such hope … even the best people or the best investments or the best governments. Only the Sovereign King of the Universe can provide complete trust and hope for me. Do I take the time to thank Him for this hope and trust that He provides me? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #28:  For Knowing All the Details of My LifeBut even the hairs of your head are all numbered. (Matthew 10:30 ESV)God knows, He cares, He is willing, and He is able to take care of me, for He knows all the details (in detail) that concern my life. Nothing escapes His attention. Do I recognize this about Him and thank Him for it? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #29:  For My Daily BreadGive us this day our daily bread, (Matthew 6:11 ESV)Have I ever missed being given my “daily bread?” Has not Father proven to me over and over that He is faithful? Do I complain that I want more, or that I want to store it up, so I will not fear? Is my real reason being that I don't trust Him on this level? Am I not content to eat from my Father's hand the diet He wants me to have? If this is true, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #30: For My JobMake it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. (1 Thessalonians 4:11 NLT)Sure, I might not like my job. But am I exempt from doing my work as unto the Lord? My job provides resources for living, and my Sovereign God uses my difficulties in it to grow my faith in Him and reshape me. If He wants me out He will change my job. Until then I think He wants to change me to accept my present situation as coming from Him. If I will not thank Him for my job and praise Him during my stay in it, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #31:  For Answered Prayers“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7 ESV)I might not realize it, but God answers all my prayers. How so? “Yes – No – Wait – Something else instead,” are His ways of answering prayers. But He answers them when I pray and ask of Him. It might not be what I want at the time. But He answers them all. Will I thank Him for all my answered prayers even if they fall in a list that I think are unanswered? If I will not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #32:  For His purpose for Answered PrayerUntil now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:24 ESV)Do I understand that Jesus wants me to ask of Him anything I think I need? But does He have a greater purpose with His answer than I realize? It is not for me to just get what I want, but rather what He thinks I need. Do I see in the promise He made that His purpose for answered prayer is to give me JOY? If I will not thank Him for the unknown answer before I am granted a clear understanding of His answer, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #33: For the Future HarvestSo let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. (Galatians 6:9 NLT)A farmer understands that he must sow to reap. There are things beyond his control such as the weather and other things. But he must do his part and can celebrate that he did his part until the harvest, and then it will be a big celebration. However, it begins with sowing. Am I weary of doing good because I see no return from my work? Maybe it is because I need to have faith that it will come.  I did my part and God will do His part? Am I not willing to celebrate the harvest that He will bring even though I do see it now? If not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #34: For His Plans for MeFor I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)God has a plan for all His children. Will I believe this for my life, or do I doubt that He is involved with my life. Do I think He either doesn't care, or He is too busy for me? If I think this, there is no scriptural basis to believe it. In fact, to believe this is contrary to what God's Word promises me. It is the belief of those who do not even know God. Will I believe Him and His promises to me only if I see proof of it? If I do this, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #35: For Being the Bride of ChristAs a young man marries a young woman, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. (Isaiah 62:5 NIV)Male or female, as a member of the Church, I am a “bride” of Christ. As a “Bride of Christ,” He promises to rejoice over me. I may not understand how this relates to me. But I understand what it means to rejoice over something or someone. Do I rejoice about my relationship with Jesus? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #36:  For Jesus' Return“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:3 NIV)Do I look forward to Christ's return to claim me? If I did, would it will help me to not take this life as serious as I do? Maybe most of my conflicts come because I put too much importance on this temporary life? Do I put more importance on this life than the one Jesus has prepared for me? If so, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #37: For My Heavenly Home“ My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” (John 14:2 NIV)What kind of house or setting can I secure for myself in this life that would ever match what Christ has been building for me the last two thousand years? Do I thank Him for the work He is doing even now to prepare for my arrival? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #38: For Making the WAY Known to Me“You know the way to the place where I am going.” (John 14:4 NIV)Before she received her name, the Church was known as “The Way.” Jesus made it clear that He is The Way. He is the way to God. He is the only way to God. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Do I thank Him for helping me know that He is the Way? If not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #39: For the HOLY SPIRITAnd I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:16-17 ESV)I have received a tremendous gift because I trusted Jesus with my soul. This Gift is God's Spirit who lives within me. Do I fail to recognize Him? Do I fail to thank Him? Do I fail to listen to His still, small voice? If I do not, am I also one who does not come back to thank Him?REASON #40: For My National Leaders and Country“Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” (1 Timothy 2:2 NLT)There is a great benefit for praying for our nation's leaders, whether I support their party, their positions, or even dislike them. I have no greater reason than the instruction scripture gives to me to do so. I might be asked to pray for godless, angry people who detest my prayerful concern for them. I might be asked to pray for leaders who are fervent about their disbelief of God and who feel my prayers are a product of ignorance and superstition. Though they see themselves as enlightened intellectuals, the truth is they are ignorant of God and His love. They need my prayers above all, for their souls need Him, and my country needs them. All my national leaders need to help create peace within our boundaries by joining hands with each other and work for a common cause. Our country and its leaders need my prayers. Have I thanked God for my country and our leaders and have I been sincerely interested in asking God to bless all of them?  If I have not, am I also one who does not return to thank Him?THANK YOU…For joining us in prayer these past 40 days, offering our Lord the thanks that He is due.  With your grateful spirit, may you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday and may you let your thankfulness pour out on your family and friends and other spheres of influence.

I thank you for these challenges and obstacles that I face, knowing that you use them to make me rely on you for strength and identity. I am not where I want to be but I thank you for a body that can move, breathe, and live. I thank you for life. Help me to see myself the way you see me. Help me to see the beauty that you have placed in me even if my outward shell does not make me feel beautiful. I want to feel comfortable in my own skin. Help me to find my worth and satisfaction in you alone and not how I feel in my clothes, the number on the scale, or how I feel when I look in the mirror. Reveal to me if there are changes that I need to make to live a healthier more purposeful life and then I ask for your discipline to put those things into action. I want to honor you with my body. I want my thoughts about my body to honor you as well.

I will make you a great nation Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV) You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:13 (MSG) Let me tell you why you are here… Be SALT Be LIGHT Matthew 5:15 (MSG) God is not a secret to be kept. Be a CITY Matthew 5:16 (MSG) By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God… Missio Dei God is a missionary and to follow Christ is to be called into His mission. Jesus seems recklessly confident of our potentialities: he calls us the salt of the earth, the light of the world, [and a city on a hill] without whose witness the world will be a different place. sacredspace.ie

Do you know that our Father God cares more for us than we could ever understand, that He will never leave nor forsake us? His love for us will never fail, it will never run dry, it will never stop. Our Lord is Love! Love means life, hope, kindness, goodness, grace, mercy, compassion, wisdom, and above all, freedom!  It is ALL we could ever hope for – to be LOVED and to LOVE in return.   1 John 4:17-18 (MSG): "God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we're free of worry on Judgment Day - our standing in the world is identical with Christ's. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment - is one not yet fully formed in love."

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) Message Title:  A Good Defense Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels.  And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven.  This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels. Revelation 12:7-9 (NLT) Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last; salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. Revelation 12:10 (NLT) For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth; the one who accuses them before our God day and night. Revelation 12:10 (NLT) And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. Revelation 12:11 (NLT) When the dragon realized that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child…  And the dragon was angry at the woman and declared war against the rest of her children—all who keep God's commandments and maintain their testimony for Jesus. Revelation 12:13,17 (NLT) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy… John 10:10 (NIV) I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 (NIV) You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. Colossians 2:13 (NLT) He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. Colossians 2:14 (NLT) In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. Colossians 2:15 (NLT) While the people of Israel were still at Rephidim, the warriors of Amalek attacked them.  Moses commanded Joshua, “Choose some men to go out and fight the army of Amalek for us. Exodus 17:8-9 (NLT) “Tomorrow, I will stand at the top of the hill, holding the staff of God in my hand.” Exodus 17:9 (NLT) So Joshua did what Moses had commanded and fought the army of Amalek. Exodus 17:10 (NLT) Meanwhile, Moses, Aaron, and Hur climbed to the top of a nearby hill. 11 As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. Exodus 17:10-11 (NLT) Moses' arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. Exodus 17:12 (NLT) As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle. Exodus 17:13 (NLT) People who can see when the enemy is gaining ground. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7(NIV) Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1 Peter 5:9 (NIV) People who will push you when we want to give up. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.  Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. Hebrews 10:23-24 (NLT) And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:25 (NLT) People who will help you hold on to what God has redeemed in you. …I am the Lord. I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment. Exodus 6:6 (NLT) I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you from your oppression in Egypt.  I will bring you into the land I swore to give… Exodus 6:7-8 (NLT)  Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along... He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good. Romans 8:26-28 (MSG) God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. Romans 8:29-30 (MSG) Sometimes the thing God has redeemed in you can become the very thing you want to let go of. As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17 (NLT)

Church leaders are used of God in their areas of gifting to serve the Body-of-Christ. Everyone in the Body-of-Christ has a gift that the Spirit of God administers at salvation. A gift is not a talent, strength (although your gift becomes a strength) or natural ability. Gifts of the Spirit are given so that the believers are built up and become mature in the faith. This message will encourage and challenge listeners to discover their spiritual gift(s) and then put them to work on behalf of the kingdom of God. KEY SCRIPTURE:1 Corinthians 12:4-13 (MSG) God’s various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various expressions of power are in action everywhere; but God himself is behind it all. Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! The variety is wonderful: wise counsel, clear understanding, simple trust, healing the sick, miraculous acts, proclamation, distinguishing between spirits, tongues, [and] interpretation of tongues. All these gifts have a common origin, but are handed out one by one by the one Spirit of God. He decides who gets what, and when. 12-13 You can easily enough see how this kind of thing works by looking no further than your own body. Your body has many parts—limbs, organs, cells—but no matter how many parts you can name, you’re still one body. It’s exactly the same with Christ. By means of his one Spirit, we all said good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. (This is what we proclaimed in word and action when we were baptized.) Each of us is now a part of his resurrection body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain—his Spirit—where we all come to drink. The old labels we once used to identify ourselves—labels like Jew or Greek, slave or free—are no longer useful. We need something larger, more comprehensive.

(1 Corinthians 2:3-5) (MSG) I was unsure of how to go about this, and felt totally inadequate—I was scared to death, if you want the truth of it—and so nothing I said could have impressed you or anyone else. But the Message came through anyway.   (1 Corinthians 2:3-5) (MSG) God's Spirit and God's power did it, which made it clear that your life of faith is a response to God's power, not to some fancy mental or emotional footwork by me or anyone else.   Today's Theme: We Will Not Forget   (Psalm 103:2) (NIV) Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.   (Psalm 103:3-5) (NIV) …who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.   (Romans 8:31) (MSG) So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us?   (2 Timothy 1:6) (NLT) This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.   (2 Timothy 1:6-7) (NKJV)  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.   Extra Benefits:   1. Power (Colossians 1:11) (NLT) We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need.   2. Love (1 John 4:18) (NLT) Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 3. Sound Mind (Psalm 139:17) (NLT) How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.  They cannot be outnumbered!

This week lead pastor Shane Frazier discusses transformed service. Title of Message:  Transformed Service   An Attender is a Consumer.   A Member is a Contributor.   (Romans 12:2) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.   Why be a contributor:     1.    They have it all covered.    2.    You did it before and hated it. 3.    You are not qualified. Biblical Serving says:   1.    I am a minister   (1 Peter 2:9) But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 2.    I am important   We are not going to be rewarded on what we do, but how faithful we were to obey what God asked us to do.    (1 Corinthians 12:27) (NKJV) Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.   (Ephesians 4:11-12) Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.   3.    I am one of a kind   (1 Corinthians 12:4-7) (MSG) God's various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit. The variety is wonderful:   (Psalm 139:13-14) For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”   A path to clear skies.   1.    Act justly    (Hebrews 12:1) “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”   (Revelation 3:7) “…What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”    (Revelation 3:8) “I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”   (Ephesians 5:15-16) “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”   (Ephesians 5:17) “Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.”   (Micah 6:8) “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”   2.    Love mercy Mercy is: “Compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm.”   (Lamentations 3:22-23) (MSG) “God's loyal love couldn't have run out, his merciful love couldn't have dried up.  They're created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I'm sticking with God (I say it over and over). He's all I've got left.”   (Proverbs 28:13) “He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”   (1 Timothy 1:12-13) “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.  Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief”   3.    Walk humbly   (2 Chronicles 7:14) “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”   (Romans 5:20) “…But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.”   (Romans 6:1-2) “…Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?”   (Isaiah 30:21) “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. For I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there.”   (Psalm 51: 7-9) (NLT)  “Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me—now let me rejoice. Don't keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt.”   (Psalm 51: 10-12) (NLT) “Create in me a clean heart, O God.
