The latest Pinball Industry News PINcast packs in a lot of exciting news from the past month, as Jonathan from Pinball Magazine and Martin from Pinball News return to bring you multiple new game launches and interviews, including an exclusive Harry Potter chat with Jack Guarnieri.Multimorphic were first to announce as they revealed Portal, based on the popular video game series, as their latest title for the P3. Their most packed playfield yet contains so much hardware it even comes in a specially extended version.Fellow Texans, Turner Pinball, brought their newly-announced second title, Merlin's Arcade, to the Texas Pinball Festival where Jonathan and Martin got to spend some pre-show time exploring it, both above and below the playfield. After previewing it for months, Chicago Gaming finally announced their re-run of Medieval Madness Remake games. But these Merlin Edition models offer far more than earlier Remakes. Find out what you get and what it costs. Jersey Jack Pinball's seminar at the Texas Pinball Festival was supposed to be all about the making of Avatar. But then Jack Guarnieri confirmed Harry Potter as the company's next title and the internet went crazy. That confirmation raises many more questions, so Jonathan and Martin are joined by Jersey Jack himself, Jack Guarnieri, to talk about that announcement and give many more details on this most hotly-anticipated new game which everyone said could never be done. There's also the latest edition of “What's Cooking With…” as Jack gives us his favourite pasta dish recipes. There's lots more industry news too, with Stern Pinball appointing a new VP of Marketing, Chicago Gaming finally releasing the new code and hardware add-on kit for their Cactus Canyon Remake games, new accessories for Venom, a new loyalty scheme from Barrels of Fun which gives one lucky Labyrinth owner a brand new copy of their next game, a final Wizard mode for ABBA, a full sell-out of Spooky's Evil Dead, and much, much more.Plus, finally, the interview eighteen months in the making. Steve Ritchie and Bill Grupp sit down to talk about the making of their Elton John game, the culture at Jersey Jack Pinball, what they're working on next, and so much more. So, make sure you grab this latest Pinball Industry News PINcast right now from your favourite podcast supplier. Yakuza is leaving Game Pass and it's all one of our listener's fault. The United Videogame Workers union has started to help the game industry unionize. Standard accessibility labels are coming across several online storefronts. SNES's are faster now, and it's because of Nintendo skimping on a resonator, so it speeds up over time. Portal is getting a new pinball machine courtesy of the Multimorphic P3 platform. Then we talk to Rob about Arcade1up and how it sounds like they are about to go under - and how our TRON cabinets are now worth a lot of money.

In this episode, we dive deep into the latest pinball rumors, industry news, and some wild speculation—because why not? We kick things off by discussing what Barrels of Fun might have in store for their next game and explore possible themes like Dune, G.I. Joe, and The Goonies (links below for reference). We also chat about Wonderland Amusements and Powlowski Pinball's involvement in the scene. Then, we shift gears to talk about the ever-evolving world of home pinball—does Wonderland's new machine make sense at $799? Can it actually deliver a real pinball experience at that price point, or will it follow the same path as Arcade1Up? Speaking of innovation, we also touch on Multimorphic's P3 platform—a console-like approach to pinball that lets you swap out playfields for a completely new game. On the hardware side, we break down the latest in pinball glass—PinnGlass, JJP Invisiglass, Stern HD Glass, and Voodoo Glass. Plus, we've got some inside scoop on Stern's Venom topper—it's coming VERY soon and might introduce something completely new for a Stern topper. Will it release before TFP? We think so—probably next week! And of course, we couldn't wrap up without talking about Dungeons & Dragons Pinball! So far, it's been an absolute blast with an awesome battle mechanic, but… let's talk about those reboots and crashes. The good news? George Gomez himself confirmed a fix is coming in next week's code update. Looking to Buy a New or Used Pinball Machine? This month those plans solidified with the formation of Funsup, a new contract manufacturing company. Hear what that could mean for pinball production in the US with the ever-present threat of import tariffs.Contract manufacturing isn't always a pathway to success, as Dutch Pinball found out. However, more than ten years after they first presented the game, the final The Big Lebowski has rolled off the production line.Dutch Pinball can now focus on their next title, but they aren't the only company building a game based on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland book. Wonderland Amusements launch their Kickstarter campaign this month for Alice Goes To Wonderland with the latest look at the full artwork package. Will their plans disappear down the rabbit hole, or will they be grinning like the Cheshire Cat? So, Jonathan from Pinball Magazine and Martin from Pinball News are back to bring you all the exciting news from the industry throughout the month of January in their Pinball Industry News PINcast. Last month's PINcast anticipated the reveal of Stern Pinball's first new release of the year, and sure enough Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant's Eye duly launched, with public premieres soon after at CES in Las Vegas and EAG Expo in London. Jonathan and Martin were at EAG to play it, but they also got to sit down with Gary Stern, John Buscaglia and Doug Skor from Stern Pinball to talk about the new game, the latest news from the company as well as the state of the wider industry, while Gary also shared his cooking tips. Big changes at American Pinball where their EVP David Fix is one of many staff no longer working there as the owners look to transition the company into a contract manufacturer. Whith hardly anyone left, what does are the prospects for their seventh title which is ready to launch? To find out, the duo speak to David Fix about his departure and those of his fellow employees, while exploring the convoluted way American Pinball has been managed in recent years, where the business is now, and which of their many development projects might yet see the light of day. One feature being newly integrated into one American Pinball game is the Scorbit scores and achievements tracking system. But they aren't the only ones adding Scorbit, as Pedretti Pinball announce it will also feature in the next code update to their Funhouse Remake game. The start of 2025 sees the Pinball Industry News PINcast embark on its eighth year of bringing you all the exciting news from across the wonderful world of pinball. In this latest episode, Jonathan from Pinball Magazine and Martin from Pinball News look back at the events throughout December as well as the first couple of days of January. Stern Pinball launch their latest cornerstone game, Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant's Eye, while at the same time locking away a bunch of their popular titles in the vault for a minimum of two years. There's also news on the Stern Pinball Cup race series as well as a fix kit for one of their recent releases. Jersey Jack Pinball have been teasing their much-anticipated Harry Potter game, but there is a big price cut available on one of their previous titles, although only for a limited time. Meanwhile, owners of another JJP title finally gets their wizard mode added after years of waiting. There's more teasing over at Pedretti Pinball where there might be clues to be found about their next remake title. Buyers of the earlier Funhouse 2.0 kit haven't been forgotten about either, with a new kit available to add a much-requested feature. There are sales and production updates from Spooky Pinball, Chicago Gaming, Multimorphic and Turner Pinball, while over at American Pinball there's much uncertainty about future plans for the company with several key employees having been laid-off. No such worries at Vector Pinball as a new machine in their Aussie Icons series is launched, while Barrels of Fun's Barrel Ball gameplay mode gains a new (although somewhat familiar) voice. Drew discusses his initial experience with p3!
It's a new month, so time to join Jonathan and Martin for a brand new edition of the Pinball Magazine and Pinball News joint Pinball Industry News PINcast looking back on May and the first few days of June. This month's PINcast is just slightly later than usual to make sure it can include the latest breaking news on the announcement by Dutch Pinball Exclusive about their first title. Jonathan and Martin discuss what it means, the history of the title and when you can expect to see it. There were also three new game titles launched in May. John Wick from Stern Pinball caused plenty of controversy, as much for the lack of visible weaponry as for the game itself. With several podcasters taking issue with the company and their products, Stern invited a bunch of them over to get a better understanding of how pinball is made and the challenges faced. Meanwhile Pedretti Gaming released full details of their first remake game, Funhouse, together with the differences between the two new versions and the all-important pricing. Finally, a new game for Multimorphic's P3 was released by Ian Harrower with his Blood Bank Billiards add-on title. Although not announcing a new title, there was much speculation around American Pinball this month. So, to get to the bottom of things, Jonathan and Martin interview American's Vice President, David Fix. In an extended in-depth discussion they find out about sales for current titles, details and the timing of upcoming releases, what the floatation of their parent company means for the pinball operation, who has left the company, the pinball market in general, and much, much more. Plus there's all the news from the many companies designing and manufacturing pinball machines right around the world. Get all this and much more in this latest edition of the Pinball Magazine and Pinball News PINcast. It's the best way to keep up-to-date on what's happening across the industry, so it's really no surprise it's the podcast the pinball industry listens to. I tried the Apple Vision Pro at an XR meetup for three minutes, which means I'm an expert on it now - and I also met an Apple fanboy who actually believed that everything the AVP did was revolutionary and was never part of any VR device before it. (It was wild!) Sony announced that they are investigating making the PlayStation VR2 headset work on PC - which would be fantastic for the hardware. EA Sports will be paying college football players $600 plus a copy of the game if they opt in to EA Sports College Football 2025, but how will they stop people from creating players who opted out without running afoul of the law? Since there was no OLR, we chatted about JRPG lovers eating good between Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. We also talked about Multimorphic's new title for their modular pinball machine, this one based on The Princess Bride.
As we leap into March it's time to join Jonathan Joosten from Pinball Magazine and Martin Ayub from Pinball News as they look back on all the excitement from the pinball world throughout February. There's a new game launch as the mystery makers of The Princess Bride pinball reveal themselves as Multimorphic and introduce us to the three versions of their ground-breaking latest release. After a long silence, Haggis Pinball communicates with pre-order buyers of their upcoming Centaur Revisited game. There are changes afoot at the company, with the trickle of games coming from the factory expected to slow even more. This month sees the 20th anniversary edition of the Texas Pinball Festival. Jonathan and Martin will be there of course, reporting and hosting their popular 'So You Think You Know Pinball?' free prize quiz on Saturday. They look ahead to who will be exhibiting their latest games at the show, who's speaking in the seminar sessions, and why you need to be there. Plus, there are the latest updates from all the pinball manufacturers, including a 'making of' video for Venom, a charity auction of Elton John Collector's Edition game #002 at Christie's, new translites available for all their titles from Spooky Pinball, expected announcements of the next games from Dutch Pinball and Homepin and why one of them will be open-sourced, along with the free download of the manual for Pulp Fiction available right now. So, join Jonathan and Martin as they report on the launch of Stern's own Shark Week, leading to the reveal of the company's latest new cornerstone title, Jaws, inviting you to jump aboard the Orca to battle the infamous Great White. It's the final PINcast of 2023 and it's a whopper, as Jonathan Joosten from Pinball Magazine and Martin Ayub from Pinball News are joined by David Fix, Executive Vice President of American Pinball. David discusses the state of the company as they move towards year end, the big push to get Galactic Tank Force Signature Editions in front of buyers in time for the holidays, the next four games they have in development, both licensed and original-themed, including one with a special place in the team's hearts, a special company discount only available for the next ten days, while also addressing some of the more wild speculation on social media. While there weren't any new physical games launched this month, there was a brand new title for Multimorphic's P3 system, plus a huge number of software updates for existing games, adding new wizard modes, new challenges, new achievement badges to collect, lots of rule enhancements and many more improvements. It's Back-to-the-Future as older titles get re-run, while it's also ‘Topper Time' with original manufacturer and third-party toppers launched for many different titles. Martin and Jonathan were also at the Dutch Pinball Open Expo in Veldhoven near Eindhoven, reporting and hosting two editions of their So You Think You Know Pinball? prize quiz. I'm back from a two week hiatus! And I'm hosting two early morning shifts at Awesome Games Done Quick 2023, but at least the second one concludes the Awful Block, so it might be worth it for you to wake up early to experience it. I got to play the Weird Al pinball table, Weird Al's Museum of Natural Hilarity, and I was sold on it except for my ball continually getting stuck on a ramp - made worse by the lack of any kind of ball search functionality in the code. I was on a cruise - the Royal Caribbean Wonder of the Seas - and in the sports bar there were classic arcade games like Mario Bros and Galaga, except they were actually iCades and Beyond Arcades with multiple games in them...Are these unlicensed? Gamers are suing Microsoft to stop the Activision Blizzard merger. John Carmack has decided to leave Meta because he couldn't fight the fight anymore. Then we talk to Rob about The Game Awards and what I missed, other than the security breach.
Aside from a very long intro covering their 5K adventure, Dennis and Tony focus on providing a year-end review of pinball and video game happenings.
