Mizeyesis on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 1/20/22   Mizeyesis is a DJ & producer from the Northeastern United States. 2017 is a big year as she's releasing “Seven Systems” a long anticipated 7 track EP on US label, Faction Digital Recordings.  In 2016 AwakeFM & Mizeyesis released “Convergence EP”off the highly respected Omni Music UK, as well as 2 tracks on the Sea Jah EP by Skru ft Mizeyesis on Hexagon Digital UK. She has scheduled projects later this year with Yeska Beatz Unlimited, Totally Dubwise, and will be continuing collaborations with AwakeFM & Skru. Mizeyesis is co-Founder of HEADY a night in CT geared towards the collaboration of (music, art and grassroots community efforts), hosts a top notch bi-weekly show "The Aural Report" on Jungletrain.net that's been running for 6 years, US Manager for DNB Girls, a 17 member all female collective of artists, DJ, and MC's; and is also apart of MIA DNB, Awake Productions CT, Resident DJ at AMEN in New Haven, CT in addition to being a producer for Omni Music, Hexagon Digital UK & Faction Digital Recordings. This week on The History of Jungle Show we welcomed DJ and producer Skid onto the airwaves. Hailing from Moscow, S.Kid is first and foremost a long time record collector and lover of the old skool sound of 90's jungle and hardcore, and uses these influences to pioneer his own stamp on the modern day jungle revival. With recent releases on Amenology, PPJ Recordings, Omni Music, Tuffshot Audio and a number of releases coming in 2021, S.Kid is one to keep an eye on! Reigning all the way from Seattle, Washington - Wetman has recent releases on Omni Music, Eat My Beat and his own label venture, Vivid Recordings. Journeying through the atmospheric side of the label, littered with breakbeats and jungle sounds, this 45 minute mix gives a real insight to the ethos of the Omni Music outlet. Omni Music was initially set up in early 2011 to showcase Eschaton's own productions, as some tracks had no natural home on other labels and he felt that there needed to be an avenue for his creations. He had released on net labels prior to this (Digibeat, SC:Digital and Materializm) but felt restricted. During the label's conception he began to hear a host of other demos by like minded artists, which he felt deserved to be heard by the public and so took the decision to release other artists' music too. The styles on the label vary from jungle to glitchy dnb to chilled out downtempo tracks; the common denominator is always deep thoughtful music spanning both the dark and the light, the ying and the yang. Omni has been proud to feature a host of artists throughout the years giving a showcase to new artists, as well as veterans of the scene that inspired Eschaton as he was growing up in the early 90's, as jungle and drum and bass evolved from rave, techno and hardcore. Slobodan Oljača, it's his real name, creating their own music, inspired by the beauty of deep space and futuristic musical works. For a long time he is a supporter of atmospheric drum & bass music, and for more than 10 years Okee focused on creating their own compositions, drawing inspiration from a variety of science fiction and space exploration. It retains the origins of atmospheric drum & bass culture and brings in his tracks and mixes the influences, which started back in the mid to late 90s. Currently, this musician is one of the some people that reflect the origins in their work, passing through itself and creating a remarkably beautiful and progressive music that is out on many important and respected labels in this scene. He also collaborates with many musicians that working in this area, to make tracks and remixes, thereby preserving in time the unique culture and elevating it to a new, modern level. Listening work and mixes Okee, inspired by ambient jungle and atmospheric drum & bass scene of the 90s / 2000s, we come back to the wonderful time and to the magic music that lives in the hearts of all of us.
