My friend James Smart (RM, age 20, from Rexburg Idaho, Santa Rosa CA missionary, at BYU) joins us to bravely share his story. James starts with reading his powerful and well-written coming out post sharing his story growing up knowing he was different, dealing with shame and associated coping mechanisms, deciding to serve a mission, and finding great healing and hope on his mission. It is a deeply authentic story of being honest, vulnerable, finding God, and finding peace that James is exactly who God created and wants him to be. We then discuss his coming out post and his future. I was so moved listening to James and his courage to be open and his ability to help others find God, remove shame, and find hope in their lives. I was also moved by James spiritual maturity and understanding of core gospel principles to navigate his future. If you are a LGBTQ Latter-day Saint, a parent of a queer child, an ally, or a local leader—I encourage you to listen to James' story and share it with others. Annalee Kelly, a mother of four, shares her journey of accepting and supporting her son, Aidan. At first she had prejudices, but eventually embraced and supported his true identity. Her 21-year old son Aiden, is transgender and lives and works in Mesa, Arizona. Their journey began almost 8 years ago, and at that time, they started a small local support group for LGBTQ youth called Open Arms. It has since grown tremendously with parents as well as the youth, and continues to be a source of strength and safety for their community where faith and lgbtq issues intersect. Annalee believes having an LGBTQ+ child is a blessing from God and encourages others to embrace ambiguity and support their LGBTQ+ children. Annalee feels strongly the value of listening and validating others' experiences without judgment and creating a safe space for individuals on different paths. Annalee met her husband Joseph, while attending Ricks College in Rexburg Idaho after serving a full time mission to Kentucky. Nick's steps to gaining a testimony: 1. take action and the Lord will magnify your efforts 2. get on your knees, and ask Heavenly Father what he would have you do Nick Carter is a college student in Rexburg Idaho who served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fortworth Texas. He tells of his teenage years living off of the covenant path without a testimony, and later describes his undoubting faith in Jesus Christ that he developed through trials and perseverance. He gives some great advice for anyone who is struggling to get themselves on a mission or struggling to understand why they should consider going on a mission. I invite you to listen to his conversion story with an open heart and take action on the insights he shares. Nicks Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nicholascarter9421/
On November 26, 2019, Lori Vallow was visited in Rexburg Idaho by local police detectives. They were knocking on Lori's door to do a requested Welfare check on 7-year-old JJ Vallow. Lori Vallow answered the door and in perfect "Lori Form", She overdramatizes the conversation, she plays the victim, lies, and tries to throw the officers off their game. Little did Lori know, but they already knew so much! They knew she was married to Chad, they knew that Charles Vallow's death was suspicious and that Lori was most likely involved. They knew Tylee didn't attend BYUI. Of course, Lori talks too much, (not a bad thing here.) She gives away a lot of clues. But, during this conversation, they realize that Melanie Gibb most likely does not have JJ with her in Arizona. We also listen to Melanie Gibb give her side of what happened that day. Thanks for listening. ARREST of Melani Boudreaux! Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell! Niece Melani Boudreaux Pawlowski was one of Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow's followers. She and Alex Cox were convinced that Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell were the chosen 144,000 from the book of revelations. Melani left her husband Brandon Boudreaux and their 4 children to move to Rexburg Idaho to be with Lori Vallow, Chad Daybell, and Alex Cox. Uncle Alex Cox allegedly shot Melani's husband Brandon Boudreaux on Oct 2, 2019. Thankfully Alex missed. Brandon was extremely concerned about his 4 children and took them to his parent's home in American Fork Utah. For some reason, while Lori and Chad were in Kauai, Hawaii getting married and planning everything, all while JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan were missing, Melani decided she needed to desperately see her children, or take them. Were they on the list to be the next victims of Chad and Aunt Lori? Alex Cox helps his niece Melani go to her ex-inlaws home and try to "see her children. However, Melani is cited for trespassing, and then has the nerve to return 2 nights later and she gets arrested and thrown in jail. It's time to put together all the pieces and show you where these horrible evil beliefs came from. In this episode, I show you where these beliefs came from. The belief in "portal travel", "multiple mortal probations", "zombies", 'choosing the 144,000" and so much more. Lori Vallow fell for these beliefs after becoming part of the Preparing a People movement. AVOW was the forum that everyone was discussing these doomsday beliefs and what the "visionaries" like Chad Daybell, Mike Stroud, Denver Snuffer, Julie Rowe, and more were teaching. Chad Daybell also convinced LDS members that Rexburg Idaho was the promised land. The "Safe Zone." These people instilled fear in their followers and convinced many that the end of days was here and they better be ready, But, in the end, there are still believers practicing this, in my opinion, nonsense. Good people and innocent people are dead thanks to their evil ideology. They are a Hydra Cult. Take a listen. Everyone loves Christmas stories, they warm your heart and make you feel good. But, I think those of us in our sixties love them just a bit more than most because we grew up in that magical era of the 50's, 60's. So many new Christmas songs were introduced during those years and so many new toys were created! You don't have to be old, or retired, to remember "Barbie" the teenage model doll, because even though she was introduced in 1959 she is still around today! Those were wonderful years to be a young child anticipating Christmas. Christmas stories make us remember those feelings all over again. One of our stories today was submitted by Laurie from Rexburg Idaho. The other was written by John L. Meisenbach and you have probably heard it before as it has been around for a few years. So sit back, relax, remember, and resolve to make this Christmas full of wonder and magic!

How are you Sahar? Sahar: I'm doing good thank you. LS: Awesome. Now you are not from Salt Lake. You were from the other side of the globe. Sahar: Yeah. LS: When people ask you where you're from what do you tell them? Sahar: Palestine. LS: Nice, And is there specific city? Sahar: I tell them I'm from Biet Sahour but a lot of people don't know Biet Sahour but it's right next to Bethlehem is about a five minute walk from the Church of Nativity where the Savior was born so its just down the hill. LS: I've heard of Bethlehem [00:04:00] this is good. You're born in Jerusalem right? The reason we were together is you recently wrote a book about being a Latter-day saint in Palestine. Obviously there's a story behind this but what led to this book actually coming to reality? So it's not a biography format. LS: [00:05:00] Here it is, nice! There is a few things I want to talk about. Obviously it's interesting you've served as early Relief Society president and District Relief Society president in Palestine and obviously there's some interesting stories from that and some unique leadership principles you learned from that experience but maybe back up you converted the church when you attended BYU but before that how would you describe the development of your faith? Sahar: So I grew up in a place of conflict and it was kind of difficult [00:05:30] to live there and I was depressed a lot. I participated in demonstrations I saw a lot of people get killed and shot and then imprisoned, and tortured, in jail and all that and it was kind of a difficult life and I became very depressed. Then when I went to BYU, and I grew up as a Christian I knew God existed I just didn't know that God actually...
