INTRO: With Certain jobs it helps greatly or may even require a certain Pedigree and intelligence, genetic disposition… but not with money, and not with spiritual authority and power Just about anybody can become rich by doing the basics… Just about anybody can become intimate, powerful and anointed by God simply by doing the basics… I have worked for ministers, who crashed and burned, their kids crashed and burned, their grandkids crashed and burned… they had every opportunity to be a Crusher in the Kingdom of God… but they never learned the basics… Why are people so willing to spend time going to church, going to seminars, going to conferences, listening to podcasts, making friends with the super spirituals… Involved in lots of eye catching ministries… willing to spend time on these tasks… Because it is more glamorous and seemingly more fruitful than just reading praying and obeying… It's like the get rich quick scheme… they almost if ever work out… but its more glamorous then taking 5% of your income out of every check and investing it in a simple account with compound interest. and being a millionaire in 30 years… its more glamorous than spending 5% of your time reading praying and obeying God every day…. What does the Book of Colossians cover and how does Paul end this letter… - FALSE TEACHING - Heretical philosophies - Varying opinions on how to get to please God - Demands and practices you must agree to AND WHAT IS PAULS INSTRUCTION He says vote republican… NOPE Buy more ammo… Nope Yell and scream at the idiots…NOPE Post your pompous attitude on social media …NOPE V. 2-4 GK - constant prayer, constant thanksgiving and constant alertness for constant ways God will use you to share the gospel…OR BE THE GOSPEL THUS… Pray for me so that I know how to share the gospel and don't miss those moments! v. 2 Pray - intense face to face conversation, focused & aware BUT NOT AWARE IN THE MINDSET OF SATAN IS AFTER US… OR AWARE OF THE END TIMES… BUT Alert: What is happening MY LITTLE world around ME What is God speaking directly to ME TO BE THE GOSPEL (Monday Caribou - woman has a wound, pray for her)

What does it take to go from being on the couch to running a 5 hour marathon? And what does it mean to grow in your spiritual authority as a man, as a husband, and as a father? It is my great pleasure to be chatting to Brian McKittrick as we unpack the answers to these important questions. Brian is a personal friend who came into my life about a year ago. He is an insurance and finance specialist, and is also the international bestselling author of "It Ain't Rocket Surgery - 21 Simple Tips that will Take Your Sales to the Moon!" He's an inspiration for many reasons, one of which is his ability to set his mind to something – and then do it. Together with Pierce 'The Big Showe' we're talking about Zone 2 running and what it takes to become a marathon man. There's even a challenge for you to become a marathon man, and have Pierce as your personal trainer. Bring your eyes to see and your ears to hear God's word. This is a good one! “When God designed us, he didn't design us to be sitting behind a computer. He created us to go climb over a 9 mile mountain and kill a lion or a gazelle, and throw that 150 pounds of meat over our backs, climb 9 miles back over that mountain, and feed our kids.” – Steve Weatherford In this Episode: - Running a sub 5 hour marathon from not running at all - Training revelations - Knowing what you want and being able to pay your price to get it - Giving up your life for Jesus at a secular event - What is heart rate training? - Running Five Peaks - Inspiring others to realize their full potential - Why enhanced physical fitness is good for your business - What is your 'misogi'(annual challenge)? - How to become a marathon man And more… Resources Mentioned: - Pierce's email if you want to be one of 10 Marathon Man trial subjects - pierce@weatherfordfive.com Connect with Brian: - LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/brian-mckittrick-3b4233113 - Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/mckittrick_brian/?hl=en - Brian's book - https://itaintrocketsurgeryliveeventbookextras.phonesites.com/contentlinks Connect with Steve: - Twitter - LinkedIn - Facebook - Instagram - Youtube Connect with Pierce: - Instagram - Link Tree

He's spent over fourteen years in the fitness industry, and spends his time connecting clients to other fitness professionals. He's also an author, a sales master, and a leader. He's here today to talk about the giver mentality, and how it can help you. On this episode of It Ain't Rocket Surgery, hear how Jonathan went from scoring the yellow pages for client leads to writing a bestselling book and running winning businesses. He knows the value of hard work and interconnecting with clients, and today he's sharing how fitness and coaching has taught him lessons like “give yourself value” and “make everyone feel special.” Tune in to hear Brian jam with Jonathan about the meaning of value, and family, and faith. They'll up your grind, so that you can reach new heights in your own sales career. What You'll learn: How Jonathan built his first business What “prescription based selling” is, and how Jonathan made it work for him. Why Jonathan's tagline is, “get what you're worth” Favorite Quote: “It's our job to say, “ I can help you. I want to build value. I want to show that we care.””--Jonathan Lautermilch How to Get Involved: Find Jonathan on LinkedIn. Get your own copy of Brian's book, It Ain't Rocket Surgery, here. Visit his website if you are looking to connect with him, today's guest, or any previous guests. Brian McKittrick is a career sales professional that has been in the industry for over 20 years. His goal now is to keep sales, small business, and entrepreneurship simple. He discusses simple strategies that will truly make a difference, regardless of what industry you're in. Brian's here to tell you that you don't have to be broke, you don't have to struggle to close deals, and you don't have to go this alone. Approaching the content from a head, heart, and hands perspective means listeners will be able to develop the understanding, the desire, and the skills needed to succeed.
Last year on the show we had a group of irreverent, yet big-hearted gentlemen join together and form what is now known as The Goon Squad. Like Marvel characters, they've banded together over the last year from various industries. Each one of them has written a book and has a podcast. They've changed thousands of lives through a ripple effect that can't be explained by science, but can be summed up in one simple phrase: They did the important work. This cast of real-life superheroes include: Kris Whitehead, Founder of New England Custom Remodeling, Author, Speaker, Podcast Host, Head Executive Coach Brian McKittrick, Founder of Insurance of Texas, Best Selling Author of “It Ain't Rocket Surgery.” Marc Zalmanoff, Founder of Marc Z Fitness, Best Selling Author of “Make Good Choices.” Drewbie Wilson, VP of Break Free Academy, and Meme Lord, best selling author of “Crush the Day Before it Crushes You” and speaker Mike Claudio, Founder of Win Rate Consulting, and A Champion's Shoes, Youtuber, Podcaster, Best Selling Author Tom Keenan, COO of Break Free Academy, Apex Executive Coach, Best Selling Author of “Unfuck Your Business,” and Founder of Step It Up Academy In this episode, the Supersonic 6 known as “The Goon Squad” reflect back on how everything got started, as they share some of the challenges they encountered over the last year and how they rose up to power through with the help of each member of the squad. As a collective, they've hosted hundreds of shows, spoken at hundreds of events, dominated in growing their companies, brands, and ultimately changed 1000s of lives by simply showing up, doing the work, and caring enough to make a difference while expecting nothing in return. This is a powerful episode. What You'll Learn: Why vulnerability helped transform the trajectory of their lives from yesterday to today The titles of their number one best selling books Lessons they learned along the way and how they used the wisdom to change lives with a compound effect How long and how much hard work has to be put in to fly in a private jet for a 3 hour flight What happens when you go deep into conversation and what has to occur in order to maintain the highest level of discipline, commitment, and integrity Why they still have fear They break down the power of what happens when you get with the right people, hold each other accountable and do the fucking work! The reality of how long it takes to dominate on social media by taking massive action And much more! Favorite Quote: “Stop laughing at what you think we're doing and start taking your own fucking action. None of us was invited into this group. We earned it by living by what we talked about earlier. And if you're not where you want to be, I highly suggest you take some fucking action about it. Because each one of us will be 100 X more successful in our lives if we stopped having this conversation right now. The investment we've already cultivated, the seeds we've planted, the confidence, and the vision and potential that has already been lit for us, we can't undo at this point. We can't stop it. If I didn't see any of you or talk to any of you for 5 years, I'd still be a better father, better leader, better husband, a better coach, a better communicator. I've done more in 2 years than I would've which has projected a completely different future. All it took was showing up, being authentic, being vulnerable, being myself, and being okay with it.” Mike Claudio How To Get Involved: From his start in the GPS tracking industry to founding the Step It Up Academy, Tomas Keenan is on a mission to break out of the concept of “average” and reach the success that is anything but. And he wants you to join him. Check Tomas out on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and don't forget to visit tomaskeenan.com and sign up to make sure you never miss an episode drop. Enjoyed the episode? Hello, I am Salve Chagrin. You may have heard of me. Motivational speaker. Podcast savant. Industry mogul. The man the most interesting man in the world finds interesting. But, for the month of November, I want you know the real me. What makes Salve Chagrin really tick. The PodFix Network, for which I am not only the president, but also a client. I am the type of network head not afraid to get his hands a bit dirty either, which is why I am actively participating in this years Na Pod Poe Moe. Each day of November, so today for instance, the PodFix Network will be bringing you a new episode from all the different members. The network did so last year as well, but, since I am no longer just a puppeteer pulling Keith, Chris, or Chad's strings, I felt it was only right for me to participate as well. And you can too. PodFix Network's Na Pod Poe Moe 2021 theme is 'The Phrase Of The Day'. Each day, we will bring you a brand new phrase or idiom and tell you a bit about it. It's origin, meaning, etc. You know, real cursory research type stuff. Chris Green of This Week Today will be great at it. Through out the month, we encourage you to then use any of the phrases we mention in your everyday life. Email us the details at podfixnetwork@gmail.com, on Twitter @PodFix or in our Na Pod Poe Moe thread in the PodFix Nation on Facebook. At the end of the month, we will select a handful of winners to receive some PodFix prize packs. With 20 years in sales, Brian McKittrick has seen sales professionals overcomplicate things time and time again. As a top producer, he's ready to share with others what has worked as well as what hasn't. In his new podcast, It Ain't Rocket Surgery, Brian talks about all things sales, from mindset and environment to skills and purpose. He'll discuss setting goals around faith, family, fitness, and finance. These goals will be actionable; no complaining, whining, or making excuses. Attending network meetups at least once a month, Brian has noticed a common theme of positivity and confidence. Did you know that 60% of all sales interactions end without a sales attempt? It all comes down to fear of rejection holding us back; something many sales professionals struggle with. While losses will inevitably be a part of the equation, it's important to concentrate on the wins. What You'll Learn: What to expect in this podcast. What the biggest part of sales is. The types of goals you should be setting. Who holds the record for most missed shots in the NBA. Favorite Quote: “We commonly remember the greats for what they did do, but we don't think about how many times they've actually had a loss.” —Brian McKittrick -- Brian McKittrick is a career sales professional that has been in the industry for over 20 years. Working to pay his own way since the young age of 14, Brian's not afraid to admit that he's wasted time, money, and effort on the wrong choices. However, through it all he's learned a lot. His goal now is to keep sales, small business, and entrepreneurship simple. He discusses simple strategies that will truly make a difference no matter what industry you're in. Brian's here to tell you that you don't have to be broke, you don't have to struggle to close deals, and you don't have to go this alone. He'll talk about everything from sales mindset and environment to sales skills. Approaching the content from a head, heart, and hands perspective means listeners will be able to develop the understanding, the desire, and the skills needed to succeed.

On this episode of Living Live with Ross Video, host Tyler Kern was joined by Jim Doyle, Ross Video Director of Creative Services. Many TV stations deliver round-the-clock, well-produced live productions on Election Day – after all, it’s one of the biggest live production days of the year, and presidential races only heighten that interest. But how can these stations ensure their offering is differentiated from the countless other options presented to viewers?Ross Video’s Creative and Professional Services initiative, Rocket Surgery, gives TV stations a way to access innovative and cutting-edge solutions to captivate audiences and set productions apart.Rocket Surgery offers graphic design in virtual reality and more, graphics integration with Ross Video platforms like XPression, virtual productions that leverage virtual reality and more, augmented reality and VR sets, and dashboard workflow design. In election coverage, specifically, Doyle said preparation is perhaps the most critical factor.“Primarily, preparation is important because, for a lot of TV stations, election coverage becomes their benchmark. It’s the thing that they measure their performance by,” he said. “Given that, if you’re a U.S. TV station, you know that you’re going to have a lot of viewers. … Why wouldn’t you plan ahead and plan early?“Most of all, I like to start working with my customers as early as possible, so that we can come up with more creative ways to display your election data and your results data and really push the envelope.”Essentially, Doyle said, the more lead time, the greater the ability to leverage innovative technologies like augmented reality to tell an in-depth, engaging story that goes beyond traditional election coverage.

Reboot Your Relationship with Joe Whitcomb 310-560-0726 or click here to schedule a FREE 30 Minute Consultation: https://calendly.com/rebootyourrelationship Reboot Your Relationship with Joe Whitcomb 310-560-0726 This podcast is best for couples, relationships, PTSD and those who "rage against the dying of the light." My area of expertise consists in helping with difficulties in relationships & social relationships. Such difficulties include finding and sustaining healthy partnerships. Such difficulties include finding and sustaining healthy intimacy, healing from a painful break-up or divorce, recovering from major loss, and growing up in aversive childhood experiences, trauma and difficult circumstances. I am particularly suited to helping those who have cultivated their intellects and creativity but would now like to develop a greater awareness of their emotional world. (Neuroscience of Relationships, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, CBT, DBT and EMDR). Joe's approach is far from being the silent, blank therapist. His approach provides the richest and most depth and exploration of how we love, work, and play. He works less as a teacher and therapist but more of an awakener and revealing what is already inside all of us that has been repressed or suppressed, process consultant and co-journeyman on all our heroes journey. I am also a 12 year military veteran and treat PTSD and transition. My bias is the relationships need 3 major elements to thrive and not just survive. 1. Shared Context 2. Shared Language and Tools 3. A Community and Tribe Joe's core belief is that we are all born into relationship for relationship, love, connection, belonging. We learned relationships in the context of relationship. We have all experienced aversive childhood experiences and trauma where we have been hurt, wounded and betrayed in relationship by mental, psychological, emotional and sexual abuse, addictions, abandonment, violations of human connection and loss of sense of safety, security and protection. So, relationship is the crucible to heal our past trauma we re-enact and sometimes feel we can never get beyond the X-Factor. Relationship is the context we have been wounded in so it is only in the context of relationship that we can be healed, therefore, it is vehicle on the path and practice of love to resolve and repair. Joe has developed brief 12-24 session relationship programs and intensives for couples to breakthrough the upper limit barriers that block them from experiences the love and intimacy both crave. Joe Whitcomb is a US Military Veteran and Rescuer, Relationship Coach/Trainer/Speaker, an attachment-based, emotionally focused therapist, and developer of the Trauma-Informed Relationship Psychotherapy Method which focuses on trauma (PTSD and Aversive Childhood Experiences ACE's) and the impact on relationships, mind, body, emotions, health in couple relations, families, blending step-families, military, veterans, first responders, and adult survivors of childhood abuse/trauma. What Does it Mean to be Trauma Informed? Noticing and embracing that trauma is the expectation, not the exception – all beings experience trauma, just different levels - it doesn't matter if you were or are drowning at 1 feet, 7 feet or 21 feet, you were drowning. Awareness of how trauma effects the brain, body, spirit, sense of safety and security in the world Asking “What happened to you?” versus “What’s wrong with you?” Minimize re-victimization and facilitate recovery for all clients in the most culturally sensitive way we can, taking into account culture, race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and other factors Behaviors are understood not merely as complaints but as attempts to cope and survive This Thing We Do…So Other’s May Live and Love Well and Thrive! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rebootyourrelationship/message

As time goes on, ministry is one of those things that we tend to make more complex than it needs to be. Our number of programs increases. The complexity of organizing those programs increases. And as a result, our church's efforts get less and less directed towards the mission. But it doesn't have to be that way.Join us for this conversation with Chris Hughes, Co-Founder of The Ministry Mechanics, about avoiding complexity in our churches. Chris has a lot of wisdom to share from his years of experience in leading (and consulting) churches. This is a really practical conversation about leading strong and maintaining a clear focus on the actual mission each of our churches are on. Chris shares personal experiences, simple advice, and direct challenges to make avoiding complexity a simple reality we can pursue.Want to take a look at some conversation takeaways and see any resources mentioned during the conversation? Improv Rocket Surgery: "Last Dance of the Devil's" (1993) - If we told you that there was a 1990s movie starring Martin Sheen’s brother featuring a post-apocalyptic world of skateboarding, sword-wielding Jedi dudes, would you believe us? Well, you shouldn’t, because we made it up on the spot. Concluding our trilogy of improvised “Rocket Surgery” episodes, this is “Last Dance of the Devil’s”, a film so bad that its title is mispunctuated. Host Moisés Chiullan with Annette Wierstra, John McCoy and Cicero Holmes.
Improv Rocket Surgery: "The Howling Horror of Dracula" - We’re all out seeing “Avengers: Endgame”, so here’s something completely different to tide you over. A while ago we all were talking about how our Rocket Surgery selections are so weird and obscure that we could just make up an entire movie and nobody would be able to tell the difference. So we did that. As with episode 453, here’s a Rocket Surgery about a movie you won’t find on IMDB or YouTube, because it totally doesn’t exist. We made it up on the spot, plot point by plot point. It’s 1963’s “The Howling Horror of Dracula.” Host Jason Snell with David J. Loehr, Don Melton, Jean MacDonald, Mikah Sargent and Kathy Campbell.
Rocket Surgery: "Star Raiders" (1983) - It’s the Rocket Surgery Film Festival! In this episode, we’re watching something that proves that computer-game film adaptations were a bad idea from the very beginning! Based on a late 1970s Atari game, it’s the ill-fated “Star Raiders.” There’s a not-dashing star pilot, a sullen space princess, an annoying robot, and is that Sheriff Lobo in a tight-fitting jumpsuit? If you’re looking for a cross between “Star Wars” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, are you in for some disappointment. Once again, we watched the movie so you don’t have to. Correction: Due to a clerical error, none of these movies actually exist. This episode was entirely improvised. Host Jason Snell with Erika Ensign, Dan Moren, Steve Lutz, Monty Ashley and Philip Michaels.

Rocket Surgery: "The Black Hole" - Jason chose Disney’s “The Black Hole” for this edition of Rocket Surgery, and after viewing it, he’s pretty confident in his decision. But there is dissention in the ranks! Some panelists will stick up for Disney’s strange 1979 horror-as-sci-fi film, which features ranting scientists, robot ESP, laser contests, a giant rolling gumball on fire, a down-home robot prospector, and one hell of a chandelier. Oh, and did we mention there’s a black hole? Host Jason Snell with Antony Johnston, Erika Ensign, James Thomson, Philip Michaels, Kathy Campbell, Monty Ashley and Steve Lutz.
Episode #153-Hector and Ian give long time Mind Grenade contributor Jason a chance to get in on some Overrated/Underrated! And Ian brings us his findings from his most recent trips down some internet rabbit holes.
Rocket Surgery: "Equilibrium". - After “The Matrix” was a hit, we got the inevitable plague of Matrix-like tales of ultraviolent dark pop philosophy. Of these, 2002’s “Equilibrium”… was one. At the pleading of Dan Moren, our Rocket Surgery team disassembles this tale of totalitarianism and gun-based martial arts starring Christian Bale, Emily Watson, Taye Diggs, and Sean Bean. It’s a movie that thinks it’s very, very smart when it’s actually really dumb. Be sure to take your Prozium, or the Grammaton Clerics will set you on fire! Host Jason Snell with Dan Moren, Erika Ensign, Jean MacDonald, Moisés Chiullan, Monty Ashley and Steve Lutz.
"The Cosmic Man" (1959) - We return to bad 1950s science fiction for our latest Rocket Surgery installment, which features 1959’s “The Cosmic Man.” There’s a UFO the likes of which we’ve never seen, in the form of a ping-pong ball in a canyon. Army men and a world-famous scientist that even little kids recognize joust over whether the UFO should be used as a weapon or to benefit all of humanity. And meanwhile, there’s John Carradine checking in to a mountain lodge in an outfit that is not at all like what an alien would wear his first time on Earth. Host Jason Snell with Jean MacDonald, Steve Lutz, Philip Michaels and Monty Ashley.

Rocket Surgery: "Dungeons and Dragons" - Settle back with a bagel or two and get ready for a film that fails to bring all the excitement and world-building of fantasy roleplaying to life! Our brave panelists watch 2000’s “Dungeons & Dragons”, which features dungeons, dragons, a horribly unbalanced party, an infuriating lack of connection to the game, a set of polar-opposite performances by Jeremy Irons and Thora Birch, a six-foot-tall “dwarf”, political theater even more boring than The Phantom Menace, generous garnishes of racism and sexism, and a villain who wears blue lipstick. Oh, and did we mention that TV’s Doctor Who is in it as an exposition elf? Join us as we watch until the end and finally say, “Ugh, WTF?” Host Jason Snell with Erika Ensign, Monty Ashley, David J. Loehr, Tony Sindelar and Steve Lutz.
Rocket Surgery: "The Wizard of Mars" - Our survey of terrible movies from various decades returns with a stop in the 60s, to visit 1965’s low-budget spectacle, “The Wizard of Mars,” featuring John Carradine in the title role as one of the horrors of the red planet. How many parallels are there between this film and “The Wizard of Oz”, really? Why are caves on Mars so peaceful? How much oxygen does it take to stay alive on Mars? Join us as we laugh to keep from crying—we’ve come all this way, there’s no reason to turn back now! Host Jason Snell with Philip Michaels, Steve Lutz, Monty Ashley and David J. Loehr.
Rocket Surgery: "Frankenstein Island" - Our rocket surgeons take on 1981’s “Frankenstein Island,” Jason’s go-to bad movie from his high school days. What do balloons have to do with Frankenstein? What’s that brain doing in that tupperware container? Why are there zombies dressed like longshoremen? What is John Carradine doing? How did Jocko lose the eye? There are so many questions, but so few answers. Host Jason Snell with Tony Sindelar, Steve Lutz, Monty Ashley, Brian Hamilton, Glenn Fleishman and David J. Loehr.
Rocket Surgery: "GOG" - Our survey of questionable science fiction films moves to the 1950s for “GOG,” a story featuring a secret nuclear base, a couple of “robuts,” a shifty Swiss scientist, a neglected Coke machine, a whole lot of science lectures, and then many dead scientists. Host Jason Snell with Glenn Fleishman, Steve Lutz, Brian Hamilton and David J. Loehr.
"Frankenstein Meets the Spacemonster" - On Halloween, our Rocket Surgery series takes us to the swinging ’60s and the height of NASA space exploration at Kennedy Space Center! In this corner, a robot astronaut named Frank! In that corner, a horde of invading aliens and their terrifying monster! In between, a bunch of stock footage, a very ’60s soundtrack, a bunch more stock footage, scientists riding scooters, the least sexy beach bikini scene ever, some military stock footage, and a party where everyone is wiggling their butts until the guy on the diving board is lasered to death. And did we mention the stock footage? Host Jason Snell with Glenn Fleishman, Steve Lutz, Monty Ashley and David J. Loehr.

Rocket Surgery: "The Core" - Introducing a new recurring segment on The Incomparable that we call Rocket Surgery, in which we watch an unappreciated science fiction movie from the past and then talk about it. For our first installment, we watched the 2003 film “The Core,” starring Hilary Swank, Aaron Eckhart, Stanley Tucci, Delroy Lindo, and Bruce Greenwood. Yes, this is a movie about people riding a spaceship (of a sort) down into the core of the Earth in order to blow it up with nuclear bombs because reasons. Our discussion topics include the science of birds, peaches as metaphors for the Earth, friendly whales, the destruction of the Golden Gate Bridge, and the powers of computer hackers. Host Jason Snell with Dan Moren, John Siracusa and Tony Sindelar.

Designing for a desired user experience requires an actionable understanding of the emotions associated with that desired experience. This requires user experience research. While user experience research typically focuses on analyzing “clicks” and usability, the emotional aspects of how it feels to use a website or how people wish an experience felt have great potential to inspire design teams and align entire companies. An understanding of the dreamlike experience and the interactive components that can make the dream a reality is an invaluable resource for creating meaningful websites. Everyone is always asking, “How can we connect with our user?” Well, connections are usually emotional experiences. If you can answer the question “what is the desired user experience,” then all functions within an organization can begin to work together with common goals and inspiration. Bringing the desired user experience into reality, however, requires that all functions in an organization agree upon the desired experience. In this presentation you will be introduced to a simple participatory design research approach that will not only uncover the desired user experience (aka the “connection”), it is also supported by quantitative and qualitative data. When all functions within an organization participate in the process, they “buy into” the approach and goals of the user. In this session, you will: * Learn a participatory design technique that uncovers the desired user experience * Understand how this technique can map interactive design components to emotional experiences * Realize the importance of involving all functions within an organization to participate in the research process * See how to effectively communicate this research to the organization in order to achieve “buy in” About Marty Gage For two decades, Marty has pioneered participatory design techniques that liberate the unspoken desires of user populations. Marty’s body of work crosses industrial and consumer product categories, encompassing subject matter as diverse as weapons systems and baby diapers; using multi-sensory toolkits and state-of-the-art ethnography, he has provided creative fuel for a collection of international design firms, engineering companies and corporate design teams. Marty currently heads the Design Research Practice group at lextant, a user-experience consultancy. Before lextant, Marty ran his own research firms: Rocket Surgery, which he founded in 2002; and SonicRim, co-founded in 1999. Before that, he spent ten years at Fitch, Inc., which he helped to establish as a leader in design research. Marty has won numerous design awards and has published widely on the topic of design research, including a chapter on participatory design research methods in the book, Human Factors Testing and Evaluation Methods. He has served on the jury for the Business Week-sponsored Industrial Design Excellence Awards, and is frequently asked to speak at design conferences and schools. Marty holds a BA in Psychology from Hendrix College, and he earned his MS in Human Factors Psychology from Wright State University.
