Here are a few tips for new supervisors that can help you motivate your team and increase efficiency. This is a continuation of our “soft skills” series. In the first session, we talked about what soft skills are and why they are important in any role. Then, we divided these skills into four segments — leadership skills, management skills, supervisor skills, and interpersonal skills. In this session, we are going to focus on the list of supervisory skills. As we talked about in the Soft Skills session, supervisor skills are a subset of managerial skills. Recall that leaders create the vision or new path. Then managers make the navigation of that path more efficient. Well, supervisors have the same goal as the manager. However, the supervisor often doesn't yet have the authority to make changes to processes or personnel. Supervisors are often managers-in-training. They are responsible for the results. However, in many cases, they may not have a lot of authority yet. As a result, people skills will be important to their success.Show Notes: Tips for New Supervisors, Five Simple First Time Supervisor Tips and Skills(https://www.leadersinstitute.com/tips-for-new-supervisors-five-simple-first-time-supervisor-tips-and-skills/)

The Sales Management. Simplified. Podcast with Mike Weinberg
In Episode 107 Mike shares a personal update on his social media sabbatical and one of his biggest observations after participating in so many Q1 sales team kickoff meetings. Listen in as Mike unpacks his frustration and confusion about how few salespeople are conducting professional, consultative, value-delivering, opportunity-creating, conversational meetings with prospects and customers. He briefly reviews his common sense outline (from New Sales. Simplified. Chapter 11) for structuring winning sales calls and then dives deeper into both how to start and end the meeting well. 1. Hear a simple technique for how sellers can take control, share their plan/agenda, get buy-in and input from the prospect/customer, reduce tension, create comfort and remove that awkward, adversarial dynamic…all while making the buyer feel that the meeting is all about them! 2. Ensure that sellers define, secure, and SCHEDULE the prospect/customer's committed-to next step! Too many salespeople are concluding sales calls with assignments for themselves but not getting agreement to (and scheduling) what the prospect/customer will do next. In this Simple Tips to Support Yourself episode of A Fresh Story, host Olivia Howell is joined by therapist and author Oona Metz to offer clear, practical guidance on one of the most difficult parts of divorce: talking to your kids when your co-parent refuses, avoids the conversation, or isn't emotionally available. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience and more than 15 years leading divorce support groups for women, Oona brings calm, child-centered expertise to a moment that often feels overwhelming for parents.Oona breaks down actionable co-parenting strategies for navigating this conversation solo, including how to explain divorce in age-appropriate language, how much information is enough, and how to answer hard questions without blaming or oversharing. She explains why children don't need perfect wording—they need emotional consistency, honesty, and reassurance—and how one regulated parent can create stability even in high-conflict or uncooperative co-parenting situations. These divorce recovery tips are especially helpful for single parents carrying the emotional labor of the transition. The episode also draws from Oona's book, Unhitched: The Essential Divorce Guide for Women, which focuses on the emotional realities of divorce rather than legal logistics. Listeners will leave with increased emotional resilience, practical scripts, and a key mindset shift: you don't need agreement from your ex to protect your children's emotional wellbeing. Presence, clarity, and care are enough.

I recently sat down to reflect on 2025, and I was honestly shocked by how much lighter my life feels now compared to just a few years ago. I'm not talking about having less to do. I'm talking about releasing the weight of expectations that never fit me in the first place. The guilt over my son's screen time, the pressure to have my spiritual life look a certain way, the belief that I had to maximize my income at all costs. When I started letting those shoulds go, something beautiful happened—I made room for so much more joy. In this episode, I'm sharing specific examples of how I decluttered my motherhood in 2025 and what shifted when I gave myself permission to stop performing and start living. You'll also hear the first lesson from my Motherhood Decluttered audio course, which walks you through the process I used to create this kind of lightness and freedom in my own life. In this episode, you'll learn: ✨ The exact shoulds I released in 2025 (and the joy I found when I let them go) ✨ How decluttering your internal "motherhood closet" creates space for what actually matters to you ✨ Why letting go of heavy expectations isn't about doing less but about making room for more of what brings you aliveIf you've been carrying shoulds that don't fit you anymore, this episode will help you see that you don't have to become a "better" mom in 2026. You just need to become a less burdened one. As moms we take on a lot over the holiday season, whether that be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's etc. So what can we do now that will make the holiday season lighter and more enjoyable. As a natural planner I have found that this is in direct parallel to how I enjoy the holiday season. The more tasks and to-do items that I can get off my list before Thanksgiving and Christmas the less anxious and stressed I feel and the more I am actually able to focus on the Christmas Eve service or enjoy time with family over Thanksgiving. Today we will be talking about ten things you can do right now to make the holiday season a bit lighter, less busy, and more peaceful. Now before you turn off the episode imagining it's just another laundry list of to-do items, take a deep breath and know that this is just a suggested list and all or any of these tasks do not need to get done right here and now. I invite you to grab a warm beverage, take a deep breath, walk through this list, and think about one thing you could do now to make the season lighter.
