I am so grateful for Sharon's work as without it I would not have healed the way I did and I would not be doing this work now. From my own experience of birth trauma that ended in loss I really wanted to share Sharon's wisdom on this podcast. I want to help continue conversations about birth trauma and inspire people to release their own negative experiences. Trigger warning: This episode does mention baby loss albeit briefly. Our conversation focuses more on birth trauma itself and breaks in the bonding experience with baby (for whatever reason). This podcast is not designed to upset you, but to educate and empower you. Your own birth was not your mother's fault, and the birth of your children was not your fault. No one is to blame; it was just what happened. Key takeaways: - Invalidation of birth trauma has long lasting negative impact - Birth trauma can leave us with shame, guilt, anger and grief- How the body reacts to Trauma and what causes PTSD - The importance of the bonding experience and how it is never too late to bond or re-bond- The healing experience with matrix reimprinting- The benefits of healing birth trauma- How important our time in utero is - How healing would work for someone currently pregnant - The importance of clearing the trauma - How to overcome the fear of healing this trauma - Traditional therapy versus matrix reimprinting - The best advice for pregnant mums right now (November 2020) - All trauma is releasable – you can heal and you can recover - Packed with real life stories of healing, as well as sharing of personal experiences from both Sarah + SharonAbout Sharon: Sharon is author of the book ‘Heal your birth, heal your life', and has been working in the field of energy psychology and emotional health since 2007. Eight year old Taylor King was having difficulty in school due to poor eyesight and mathematical comprehension. Her parents took her to a series of doctors which concluded with a geneticist and a diagnoses of a rare genetic defect-Batten's Disease. The sixteen years that followed have been an incredible journey of hope and perseverance culminating in the creation of Taylor's Tale, a nonprofit foundation that promotes genetic research for rare disease and advocacy for those who are diagnosed as well as their families. Taylor's mother Sharon was instrumental in passage of Taylor's Law which helped to create the Rare Disease Advisory Council in the State of North Carolina. In the following years several more states have adopted laws for patient advocacy and created advisory councils. Millions of lives have been affected in a positive way. Taylor passed away 2 years ago at the age of 20 but her family is still seeking treatment options for Battens Disease culminating in an FDA approved clinical trial funded by the foundation named for her. I hope that you enjoy this family's remarkable story.

Please be gentle with yourself.  About Sharon King Sharon King, creator and director of Magical New Beginnings, and author of  Heal Your Birth, Heal Your Life. Sharon studied with countless leading teachers in the field of emotions, energy and health. She began to piece those teachings together and advance them. She worked for a number of years specialising in the birth experience and how it affects our emotional health during our childhood and adult life. Drawing from all her training and experience, Sharon went on to develop the Matrix Birth Reimprinting protocols which became a foundational cornerstone in a self-help technique called Matrix Reimprinting. Sharon leads the field in this area and her techniques are published in the book Matrix Reimprinting Using EFT, which was released by publishing giants Hay House in August 2010 and published her own book Heal Your Birth, Heal Your Life in Sept 2015. Sharon King is a qualified IIHHT, MICHT therapist and member of AMT EFT & Matrix Reimprinting – Advanced Practitioner and Trainer Matrix Birth Reimprinting – Creator and Trainer Colour Mirrors – Practitioner and Teacher Metatronic Healing Reconnective Healing NLP & Time Line Therapy – Practitioner BodyTalk CBP     Episode highlights EFT seems to be able to shift stuck emotion or energy of the moment or past trauma. More people are starting to use it in the health system. Scientific studies are now published and recognised by the scientific community Karl Dawson created Matrix Reimprinting - the next stage of tapping - rather than tapping on yourself in the first person, go back in time and where that fear, allergy, trauma was created and imagine you are tapping on your younger self. Theory that we are all connected - to our parents, children, neighbours. Strong maternal link with maternal grandmother. Egg that created you was created in your mother when she was in her mother’s womb. Sharon only one in the birth trauma space - she created Matrix Birth Reimprinting. It started with lady pregnant with 3rd child and terrified about birth, her previous 2 births were traumatic. Typically talk therapy would not touch on long held beliefs and perceptions from birth Alison talks about her own experience with matrix Reimprinting in relation to public speaking trauma originating from childhood. Conscious or unconscious memory, all these events in our lives form the foundations of who we are. Men 2 -3 months before conception - very important as that will lay down DNA. Importance of gut flora. Shock and trauma will have effect on microbiome/gut health. Everything is interconnected. Emotional trauma also have a physical expression. So many women post birth have a gut problem. Review of whole person; physical, body and mind. Including antibiotics in birth. Sharon does workshops and talks around the world. In Utero film screening is good film to watch on this subject. Coming to a stage we all want change. Children in the future will not to come into birth trauma. Biggest trauma is when women don’t trust intuition and give power away to medical profession and then suffer trauma. She has taught practitioners how to help others transform their experience of being in utero and birth too. She also works with pregnant women, to help them to have an empowered, natural birth, and with parents whose children experienced a birth trauma. Date: May 2, 2013 Featuring: Sharon King, Principal, Starfield Consulting Ltd. Mimi Toomey, MA, Director of the Office of Policy, Analysis and Development at the Administration for Community Living (ACL),  US Department of Health and Human Services  With the aging of the population in many countries, where are the best ideas going to come from to help older people remain in their communities, and among the friends and families — and other seniors — they know best? How can we shift mindsets and models from ones that include endless and expensive health care interventions to a vision that factors in the role that supportive people and support services can play further upstream — to reduce isolation and loneliness, to ensure good nutrition and management of chronic health issues, to prevent avoidable hospitalizations? This WIHI takes a stab at some answers. In South Georgian Bay, a community along the Severn River in Ontario, six organizations have come together to create a web of resources called Home for Life, focused on the growing population that’s over 65. Anchored by volunteers, a 211 system to initiate and engage services, and a “back to the village” vision that also includes empowering older individuals with computers and new technologies, Home for Life isn’t just another in a long string of well- intentioned social service initiatives. WIHI guest Sharon King, one of its creators, believes Home for Life should be studied, measured, and monitored for its effectiveness. She’s hopeful they’re on to something in Canada that can be adapted elsewhere. How does this look to Mimi Toomey from her perch at the US government’s Administration for Community Living? With over 25 years of experience developing policies to support aging populations, is this the kind of “break the mold,” more cost-effective experimentation that communities in the US need to tap into, too? Do we have similar examples popping up that we need to learn more about? Probably so. If we’re going to get out from under headlines and reports that focus exclusively on aging as unaffordable for society most of all, we need fresh ideas and compassionate innovation.

Even though we don't consciously remember coming into this world, we are fully conscious in utero and at the time of our birth. Because we are conscious, these experiences contribute to how we build models of the world that impact the way we live our daily lives. In this interview Sharon King shares how Matrix Reimprinting (a tool set that uses tapping) can be used to help clear these unconscious memories.
