Have you ever known exactly what you wanted to do... and still couldn't make yourself do it?You want to stretch. You want to meditate. You want to lose the weight. You want to build the business. So why does your brain seem to hit the brakes? In this episode, I'm sharing one of the biggest breakthroughs I've had in years of coaching midlife women. What started as research for my EFT tapping workshop turned into a completely new way of understanding motivation, procrastination, and why so many of us get stuck during life's transition moments. You'll learn why I no longer believe motivation is the problem—and why your nervous system may be trying to protect you instead. We explore:✨ Why traditional morning routines aren't the whole answer✨ How your nervous system influences motivation and procrastination✨ The "Smoke Alarm" analogy for fight-or-flight✨ The ancient Chariot story and what it teaches us about the mind, body, and soul✨ Why I see our Arch Nemeses (like the Wine Wench and Fog Witch) as protective parts instead of enemies✨ A new concept I'm calling The Transition Chamber—a simple way to move from survival mode back into alignment with your Highest SelfPlus, I end with a short EFT tapping exercise you can use the next time you find yourself stuck, overwhelmed, or unable to take the next step.If you've ever asked yourself..."What's wrong with me?"I hope this episode helps you start asking a better question:"What is this part of me trying to protect me from?"Because I have a feeling that question might change everything.Chapters (Approximate)00:00 – Why I think I finally figured this out02:15 – My client's morning routine struggle06:00 – Why morning routines aren't the real answer09:30 – The nervous system & the Smoke Alarm15:00 – The Chariot: an ancient map for the modern mind22:00 – Why your Arch Nemesis might be trying to protect you28:00 – The Transition Chamber34:00 – EFT tapping for motivation & overwhelmGET THE TAPPING BLOCK TOOL: https://go.addiebeall.com/tapping-blocksJoin SKOOL community Midlife Badassery is open HEREFOLLOW/WATCH ON YOUTUBE addiebeall55Free Visioning Meditation (goes with Ep 160 Unlock Your Future: Create Vision for Midlife Transformation) Get Social with Me!Don't do it alone- us badasses gotta stick together ;)FREE Facebook Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mefirstsisterhoodFacebook Namaslayer (LIVE Sundays at 9 AM Pacific / Noon Eastern)Instagram @addiebeall_namaslayer

In typical K&F fashion, things quickly spiral into chaos. Rob gets woken up at 4 AM by a smoke alarm only to discover water pouring out of it thanks to an upstairs bathroom flood. Bernie delivers weather with the energy of a town historian reading a plaque, the guys run through another round of Celebrity Automotive Ancillary Birthday, and a brutally accurate job-interview PSA reminds everyone that some people really do belong in the HR complaint file. Rob also shares a proud dad update as Dallas gets seat time in a late model on slicks, learning one of racing's biggest lessons: smooth inputs, tire management, and the reality that when the grip goes away… you just learn to work with it. For the Dukes Review, the crew heads back to Season 1, Episode 6 — “Swamp Molly.” This episode marks the beginning of the crisp California look many fans associate with the show. When old family friend Swamp Molly calls in a favor from Uncle Jesse, the Dukes agree to help run what they believe is moonshine — only to discover the cargo is actually a truckload of illegal firearms. The episode delivers classic early-season action including an ice cream truck disguise, swamp landings, Rosco's outrage at “un-American” crime, and plenty of General Lee driving. The guys also dive into production details like early General Lee quirks, background car spotting, and the raw stunt work that made the early seasons feel so authentic. In 1973, fire killed and injured more people in the United States than in any other industrialized nation in the world. The next year, Congress passed the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act, a landmark bill that made significant investments in fire research, training, and education. Within a few decades, the U.S. had transformed from a fire-prone outlier, to arguably the safest country in the world.  Today on the podcast, we talk to Dick Gann, one of the most prolific fire researchers in U.S. history, about a new paper that he co-authored that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Fire Prevention and Control Act. We discuss the legacy of this legislation, and explore several of the research achievements — many of which Gann himself was directly involved with — that have dramatically improved fire safety in the United States over the last half century.  LINKS:  Read the NIST Report, “A Legacy of Fire Safety”  Read the NFPA Journal article by Jesse Roman about why the Fire Prevention and Control Act is still more relevant than ever

This episode references domestic violence and other mature themes. [Lou's Story Part 1/3] Lou's story isn't just about survival—it's a battle cry of reclamation. In this chapter she unravels the deeply personal account of her entanglement with John, her manipulative and abusive ex-boyfriend. The emotional wounds of their relationship left scars that refused to fade, but it was the unexpected moment of seeing him again years later that pulled her back into the shadows of her past. As the trauma resurfaced, Lou found herself grappling with questions she thought she had buried. In retracing the steps of her formative years and confronting the weight of generational trauma, Lou begins to piece together a path toward recovery. But healing isn't a straight line — it's a labyrinth of pain, resilience, and startling realizations that could change everything.   All chapters are available ad free on Patreon: https://patreon.com/BrittaniArd Share your story with Brittani.
