After repeated delays due to unfavourable winds and swell, the team finally launched this past weekend and completed the full distance in an unratified time of 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds. The VUSA Rugby and Learning Academy in Langa is a registered NPO started 25 years ago by Bishops Prep teacher, Brendan Fogarty, to address the lack of sport at disadvantaged schools. It began as a part- time rugby programme but as greater needs were identified, the programme developed.
