In This Episode You Will Learn About: Worrying about spending your money How money is infinite Doing what you love Resources: Text “DAILY” to 310-421-0416 to receive a daily money mantra for free Show Notes: We advocate for doing what you love, working hard, and being rewarded for it. And today, we're going to talk about that last part: the reward. Too often we get focused on the work – the hustle, that we forget what we're working for – and, not only that, but we forget to indulge in that reward. You have to remember that time is short, but money is infinite. You can always make more money, but you can't get your time back. On today's episode of Locked On Yankees, Stacey briefly previews tonight's pitching matchup in Game One of the World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers—it's Tyler Glasnow vs. Clayton Kershaw. She jokes that Glasnow is more like a pitcher from the 1960s who can pitch anywhere at anytime in a series, she discusses an interview with Jeff Luhnow, former GM of the Houston Astros and wonders how it's possible for someone to be that oblivious about everything. He's still claiming to not know anything about the cheating scandal that engulfed his entire organization in 2017 and Stacey thinks that might actually be worse than being involved. Often times in life, the only thing holding you back from achieving greatness is yourself. I find this true to be for audio. In podcasting, there is this culture I can't quite wrap my head around that seems to always be aiming for the bottom. "Don't buy that nice microphone what you can totally get away with this $17 karaoke microphone from Radio Shack". Does that place still exist? Why are we trying so hard to get away with the minimal effort? This hack-a-thon mentality can be fun in some situations, but it shouldn't be the GOAL when you're obtaining your podcasting equipment. What I'm trying to encourage is the mindset of aiming for the top, and working your way down if you're not quite ready for the "big leagues". There's PLENTY of great middle-of-the-road equipment out there that is very easy on the bank account, but it's important to note that one of the biggest factors in audio quality is the experience and skills of the person capturing and producing the audio. I can be wearing the best basketball shoes known to man, but Michael Jordan in loafers will still wipe the floor with me. So where does that leave us? I believe the mentality we ALL need to have is to fully understand the value of proper equipment, to buy the best equipment we can afford at the time, and regardless of what hardware you use, you should learn how to use it properly. It's really as simple as that. Strive to learn more, to do better, and get the best results you can with the equipment you have available to you. A little bit extra, every weekday morning, from LBC's longest-serving presenter.
Rich and Dan waste no time recapping the Bears' draft class from the Halas Hall coat closet (where else?). They dissect the trade up for Iowa State running back David Montgomery (2:28), spotlighting the traits that make him a pro-ready back and the upside the Bears see in him as a receiver (9:55). They salute Montgomery’s huge heart (12:30) and set realistic expectations for him as an NFL player. The duo (temporarily) skids off on a tangent to slam Chicago’s insane April weather (21:40). BTW, they are not fans of construction, either. Getting back on track, they break down the Bears’ four Day 3 picks with special attention paid to Georgia receiver Riley Ridley (24:38) and Kansas State cornerback Duke Shelley (35:06). Rich and Dan finish by taking the Crown ‘Em segment to hope the Bears call some audibles as they audition their growing cache of kickers (40:40).
IT WAS NOT A COORDINATED EFFORT, but is there any more appropriate sermon title for a Fifth Sunday Worship and Potluck than, "THERE'S PLENTY FOR EVERYONE?" This week we encounter one of the more well-known parables of Jesus, the one commonly referred to as the "Prodigal Son." Oftentimes painted as a 'feel-good' uplifting story of God's love for those who have abandoned him, the converse to that narrative is Jesus is being pretty harsh in this story to a few who 'know better' than he when it comes to God's love. In this season of Lent, as we find good news in the midst of the starkness of the Lenten journey, we discover some good news that has the ability to inspire us all to continue striving for holiness and faithfulness to Christ. Amongst this narrative, we will come to see: Jesus loves 'them people' and...; We are not coerced into a life of faith; God welcome is more consistent and constant than we might think; and, The blessings of being a follower of Christ are...
A key to success: not letting BS (in your head or from other people) slow you down. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing, saying or working on. Even if they're competing with you for a client, job or some other prize. Focus on being your best for all the right reasons. Stay true to what gives you a reason to work harder, longer and better than them. Don't let their shortcuts, questionable tactics or even straight up unethical behavior affect your hustle. You do you. The right path to the success you want (whether you know it or not) will reveal itself when you tune out all the noise and stay true to yourself. Good luck! See you next week. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/satmorninghustle/message

Steelers 21 Browns 21 The Cleveland Browns were trying to be the perfect hosts… They put out their finest linens, polished the silverware and sat the Steelers down to a banquet where they could feast to their heart’s content. The Steeler, gracious guests that they are would have none of it. On a rain-soaked afternoon, in the only stadium outside of Pgh where Ben Roethsliberger is the #1 winning QB, the Steelers graciously handed the Browns their first non-loss in 624 days achieving a 21-21 tie. I would like to say the Browns took advantage of 6 Steeler turnovers, but they did not. They took advantage of just one turnover, but managed to overcome a 14 point deficit in the 4th quarter. The Browns decided to keep its new #1 draft pick under wraps, choosing to go without a QB the entire game. With wanton disregard for the absolute futility that was the Brown's offensive, the Steelers blew a 14 point, 4th quarter lead. James Conner emerged as a legitimate #1 running back, but gave up a critical fumble in the 4th quarter that led to a Browns TD. Although Tyrod Taylor was throwing passes with his eyes closed and the Browns kept shooting themselves in the foot with penalties at critical times, the Steelers let them stay in the game. Taking their foot off the pedal early in the 4th quarter with a 14-point lead, the air seemed to go out of the Pittsburgh balloon and we just accepted that we would get to fourth down and have to punt. There's PLENTY to talk about and we do so in this wide-ranging episode. Although it wasn't what we had hoped for, we saw new stars emerging in Conner, Watt and Switzer. Let's hope we don't beat ourselves in the game next week against the Chiefs. Work It Wednesday Episode #13:There's Plenty of Room For You! by Nada Lena
Trump's speech optimistic & transformational. Civility, bi-partisan, unity. National confidence. Nick Eberstadt: "Men w/out Work: America's Invisible Crisis." Our miserable 21st century. David Smick: "There's Plenty of Hope for Tax Reform." As Trump unmuzzles econ, rosy scenario will become econ reality. Mark Krikorian: Kinder, softer Trump immigration policy? Avik Roy: ACA reform a tax cut in reconciliation? Biz tax reform also? Is Medicare really going broke? Refundable tax credits a new entitlement? Trump hasn't yet made decision on BAT. WH battle. So many contradictions. Hi dollar hurts exports. Tax imports w/ consumer price hikes will weaken growth; $1.1 TR pay-for never happen. Why not 3-4% growth? Policies affect productivity & work effort. Yellen signals rate hike. 35%- 90% w/ no new numbers! Commodity price rule. Taylor rule. Non-labor inflation model. Trump rally still booming. Profits rising. Better numbers PMI globally. Tech bubble?
Why do we judge ourselves when there are so many people who already do that for us? What you'll come away with: Use a simple mindful technique to quiet your silent judge.

Abstract: Over fifty years ago, Feynman predicted the rise of nanotechnology, even before it was on the horizon. Today, not only have we made significant strides in the fields he proposed nanomedicine, nanolithography and nanofabrication; but we have developed tools that allow us to go "small" in the "other" component of space time. With the advent of femtosecond pulses of light, we have been able to pursue physics at the femtosecond timescale in systems characterized by a nanometer length scale. In todays talk, I will present three very different ideas from my own research background that involve physics at the femto-nano scale. Using a Metamaterial – an artificially fabricated nano-material, I will demonstrate the ability to do develop ultrafast, nanoscale, tunable, photonic devices. Next, in graphene, a newly discovered allotrope of carbon, using a counter intuitive technique in ultrafast spectroscopy, I will demonstrate the relativistic nature of Dirac Quasiparticles. Lastly, in the quantum Hall system, a two-dimensional electron gas in a large magnetic field, I will demonstrate the photoexcitation of complex, many-body states and then observe their quantum interference that can been seen only within the first few hundred femtoseconds. Dr. Dani is with the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Presented Sept. 17, 2010.
George Dyson is ringing a change on the famous 1959 lecture by physicist Richard Feynman that showed the way to nanotechnology. It was called, "There's Plenty of Room at the Bottom."
