Our listeners can get access to all of Marnie's resources at https://www.bethesdaworkshops.org/ Quotes from this episode: “Forgiveness is an intellectual decision not an emotional one. That means you make a conscious choice no matter how you feel. You may still be angry, yet you forgive. You may still be in pain, but you forgive. You may still be wearing the scars of the abuse, but you forgive.” - Marnie Ferree "Very often, it is the recognition of betrayal by a spouse that helps to illuminate a woman's story." - Marnie Ferree

Finally, she shows women how they can begin practicing self-care, develop healthy boundaries, protect themselves from abuse or manipulation, and discover freedom from the burden of shame and guilt. Our listeners can learn more about Dr. Sheri Keffer by going to her website: https://drsherikeffer.com/. Quotes from this Interview: “A partner who is betrayed needs two things that are critical to heal: safety and truth. Traylor Lovvorn and Jerry discuss the struggles of a Christian man including sexual brokenness and how it all connects with authentic manhood.Authentic Manhood - Struggles of a Christian ManPornography and lust are part of the struggles of a Christian man. Society tells us that manly men must have sexual conquests. What we really desire is connection and permission to have an identity of authentic manhood.Christian men are not immune to divorce. We are not even immune to sexual addiction. Jerry has shared that he was exposed to pornography at the age of seven years old. While he tried to justify his porn stash to his wife, it was sending a clear message to her that she was not enough for him. This tension was bringing him to the trust that he was experiencing sexual brokenness.Fortunately, Jerry was able to find a lot of what Traylor talks about in this episode, community among Christian men, strength to be weak in front of his spouse and godly men, and exposing the secret he had been trying to keep all those years.Traylor Lovvorn - Undone RedoneTheir divorce didn’t work out. That is what Traylor Lovvorn tells people today when they ask about his marriage.Traylor was undone by his addiction to pornography. His 11-year marriage ended in sexual brokenness. The appearance of being a “perfect Christian man” fell apart all around him, and he was left only with what would bring him to authentic manhood. Six years into their divorce, reconciliation brought Tray and Mel back together and they remarried. Their platform Undone Redone now helps men search for what it means to be a godly man and how to deal with the trauma of betrayal. At the time of this episode, they have been remarried for eleven years, so 11-6-11 and counting! They have dedicated their second marriage to ministering those who face the struggles of a Christian man, and help marriages thrive through their weaknesses.Episode Timestamps3:50 What is Undone Redone?5:18 Why do men wait until a crisis hits instead of maintenance?6:30 Dealing with shame - pornography addiction, sexual brokenness10:20 Cheer up, you’re much worse off than you think! - Authentic manhood14:05 Facing the facade and having permission to feel the full range of emotions17:10 Practical tips for Christian men - community20:23 Best way to connect with Tray from Undone Redone24:28 Closing remarksRead the complete show notes here, https://beyondtherut.com/190
My Secure Family helps parents build strong relationships with kids~early~that will make children less likely to succumb to online or other sexual dangers. Parenting Is Hard Work Raising kids is one of the hardest, but most important jobs, that we parents will ever do. It has never been an "easy" job to raise kids, but never has it been more difficult. In the age of technology, online dangers, and rampant pornography, we parents (grandparents, teachers) have a daunting job. Staying Tech Savvy Is Hard for Most Parents When we parents try to protect our kids from online dangers, it is almost impossible to "keep up" with the dangers. New apps, hidden apps, and all sorts of things pose dangers to our kids that we are often not even aware of. Because of this, we parents are often looking for someone to help us be informed, aware, and proactive in stepping up to the plate. But how do we talk to our kids about these things without building walls? My Secure Family Helps Parents + Kids = Team The My Secure Family initiative was launched by Tray & Melody Lovvorn, founders of Undone Redone, as a tool for parents raising children in the world of technology. My Secure Family is a prevention and protection initiative that equips parents to protect their children from the dangers of the digital age. Two Moms Ask How My Secure Family Can Help In this round table discussion, Tray, Melody, Jamie and Deanna discuss a few of the following topics. Their own experiences parenting in the digital age. How parents can effectively protect their kids from pornography exposure. How couples that are struggling with sexual brokenness and pornography addiction can break free. Why it matters to approach sexuality in a healthy way when talking to your children. Episode 187 features Tray and Mel discussing the importance of rest and play as they record after a week of writing at beautiful Smith Lake in North Alabama. They discuss the underlying unbelief that keeps us perpetually “doing” instead of taking time to simply “be”. But, as they share in this episode, rest and play are vitally important in keeping us energized and enjoying wholehearted living. Where do you need to cut back in order to build in the margins necessary for adequate play and rest? Please share this episode with family and friends who also need to be reminded of the importance of play. Connect with us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and keep up with all that is going on at Undone Redone.

'Tis the season for holiday movie-style family scenarios complete with snowy scenes, warm gingerbread baking in the oven and lots of smiles and laughter. But many families have learned to pretend and fake it through the family Christmas gatherings. The masks come out and hide the pain and broken parts of the relationships. On this week’s TAB News, Tray Lovvorn of Undone Redone ministry explains how pain and frustration of this type can be magnified during the Christmas season because of all the expectations for picture perfect. He also shares tips for gaining the courage to tackle the issues head on, walk through what is necessary to repair the situation and discover there is peace on the other side. Following the 30-minute interview with Tray, writers and editors of The Alabama Baptist newspaper present an audio digest of this week’s issue including news, features, Dr. Bob Terry’s editorial, Dr. Jerry Batson’s Theology 101 column and Sunday School commentaries. Traylor and Melody are joined by Michael Leahy, the founder and CEO of BraveHearts to discuss sexual addiction, the grace of the gospel, and an upcoming online summit, called Breaking Free Summit. Michael grew up in a Christian home with all the markings of a “normal” childhood. After moving from LA to Spokane, Washington he began to feel like an outsider and was bullied. Michael looks back at the exact moment he was introduced to pornography on the playground at 11 years old. Once he had seen the porn and kept it a secret with the other boys, the bullying stopped. This led to Michael viewing sex as acceptance and porn gave him a semblance of manliness. Michael continues to reflect back on how this viewing led to a sexual addiction went onto seep into his adult life, marriage and ultimately through his divorce. Michael is the founder and CEO of BraveHearts, a faith-based, mentoring-centric ministry that's been helping Christian men build and maintain lives of sexual integrity so they don't have to suffer the consequences of sexual sin. Michael has written 5 books on the subject, shared his story of redemption in hundreds of churches, colleges, and conferences. He is committed to helping those break free from the brokenness of sexual addiction. Michael and BraveHearts are hosting a 10 day online virtual summit called Breaking Free summit. The summit will contain interviews and stories from 45 leading experts in the subject of pornography, sexual addiction, and recovery. All the materials are free for the first 48 hours and after that will be available through the all access pass which is available for purchase. Any money raised goes to BraveHearts and other organizations involved in the summit including Undone Redone. The summit will run from December 10-19 and you can find more information at BraveHearts.org.

It is hard to believe that it has been four years since we launched the Undone Redone podcast! A big ‘thank you’ to all of our listeners! You guys make this journey so much fun! In episode #2 of the show, way back in February of 2013, we talked about the pros and cons of Valentine’s Day and we want to revisit that theme here on episode #102. With all of the fun and excitement that Valentine’s Day can bring, it can also provide a tremendous amount of unspoken expectations and pressures that can lead to problems in a relationship. In this episode, Tray and Mel talk love languages, being a student of your spouse, and being a ‘year-round’ Valentine. Subscribe to the show on iTunes, Stitcher, and YouTube!
Episode 101 of the Undone Redone podcast features an insightful discussion with Kimm Crandall, author of Christ in the Chaos and Beloved Mess: God’s Perfect Love for Your Imperfect Life. In this interview, Kimm shares her own journey from performing for God’s approval to resting in his wonderfully scandalous grace. Kimm writes regularly at www.kimmcrandall.com, an online respite that she describes as “a safe place for sinners who long for relatable, gospel-saturated, grace-washed articles and resources. We hope that this conversation with Kimm will help you find Christ in your chaos and God’s unconditional love in the midst of your mess. Remember...Life is Messy. Bring Your Boots!

All of us at Undone Redone wish you the very best as we begin an exciting new year! In this episode, Tray and Mel briefly discuss Alabama’s loss in the National Championship game and dive into a discussion of the gospel as it relates to a topic that is always very popular at this time of year: Resolutions. While New Year’s Resolutions are all about discipline, effort, and willpower as we try to make changes in various areas of our lives, most of us know that, while trying harder might produce temporary change, true, lasting change can only come as we come to the realization that we are powerless to change ourselves. The gospel calls us to resignation, not resolution. If you have enjoyed the show, please take a moment and give us a rating and review and subscribe to us on iTunes!

Merry Christmas from Undone Redone! In this episode, Tray and Melody discuss the wonderful good news and powerful implications of the proclamation of Emmanuel: God with us! Tune in as Tray and Melody take a close look at the lineage of Jesus recorded in Matthew 1 that offers hope for us all as we see God using broken people to bring perfection into the world. The Good News that we celebrate at Christmas is that God is with us steps into the mess with us. Unlike what we often believe, God is not expecting us to clean things up on our own, but to come to Him just as we are. Peace to you as you celebrate “God With Us” this Christmas season!
Episode 95 features a topic that has never been dealt with directly on the Undone Redone podcast — death. Just five years ago, business consultant James Bishop was on top of world, preparing to start traveling with his wife Jane to watch their twin boys play baseball at Jacksonville State University. In their sons’ Freshman season, after a win over Auburn where their son Michael had gone 3 for 3, Jane died suddenly after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage on the drive home. In this heartfelt interview, James courageously shares his journey through the depression and anger he experienced after Jane’s death and provides profound insight into how God used her death to teach him how to live. Please consider sharing this episode with your family and friends who need to hear this important perspective on death. Episode #93 discusses an important topic that is often overlooked in our society…especially in the Church. Our guest, Carrie Wilson, courageously shares her story that includes a struggle with sexual sin as a female that ultimately led to an STD. Our enemy loves to keep us alone and isolated in shame, believing the lie that nobody is like us. Sharing our stories of brokenness helps to create the “Me Too” community that leads to healing and lasting change. Carrie boldly shares her story in order to offer hope and help to other females who are currently believing that they are alone and that no one can relate. Sexual brokenness is plaguing our culture and it is not just a man’s issue. Listen to our interview with Carrie and consider sharing it with your family and friends.
