This episode's literal grab bag of topics ("Time is malleable" // "Steeping in it" // "Leave room for surprises") had Jorli taking a big step back to reflect on the intention of this podcast (and book). What is Intuition for Breakfast about, really? What is it at its core? Well first, it's an acknowledgement that there is more going on in this world than we have been taught and led to believe. And second, it is a guidebook for navigating these unseen realms and energies so that you can live with more clarity, less worry and (hopefully) reach your highest potential for this lifetime. Ted Danson is dangerously delightful... don't let him try to tell you otherwise. Ted and Dan bond over coming to terms with their insecurities late in life… could you imagine a world where the adored icon was not only shy, but thought he lost his funny, and needed Larry David to save him? That last part was about Ted, of course, not Dan. (Sorry, Dan). Ted also shares memories from his legendary time on “Cheers” and his magnetic friendship with the “whimsical” Woody Harrelson that has now culminated in their wonderful new SiriusXM podcast, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (Sometimes)”. From Pastor Will's new sermon series "Where Everybody Knows Your Name". Pastor Will delves into his personal experience with social media and its impact on feelings of belonging and loneliness. He reflects on the curated nature of online content, which often portrays only the highlights of people's lives, leading to feelings of inadequacy and exclusion. Drawing parallels to the loneliness epidemic, Pastor Will emphasizes the importance of belonging and community, highlighting the biblical story of Mary Magdalene's encounter with Jesus after his resurrection. Mary's experience emphasizes the transformative power of hearing one's name spoken by Jesus and Pastor Will invites people to turn toward Jesus for belonging and hope. He concludes with a prayer for those who feel called to turn to Jesus and encourages them to take a step forward in faith.

When our clients are telling stories, not only do they default to vague and non-specific language frequently, they can't even recall a person's name to include in their story! This episode, Where Everybody Knows Your Name, is full of suggestions for teaching name recall. As a bonus, in the Free Resource Library you can download THREE stories with the same main character. You get simple stories and name recall practice all in one package!

For this month's Nostalgia Theater I mark twenty-five years since Cheers -- one of the greatest TV show of all time -- left the airwaves. I was in junior high at the time, but I remember well how anticipated it was. A legitimate cultural event that prompted joy and sadness in equal measure. And in the intervening quarter-century the show has remained as beloved as it was during its initial run. My guest for this episode is legendary writer/producer Phoef Sutton, who was with the show for most of its legendary eleven-season run, starting as a staff writer and working his way up to showrunner. Phoef has plenty of stories to share from his time tending bar at the place Where Everybody Knows Your Name, reflecting how the show stayed vibrant through many different cast and crew changes, what it was like to say goodbye, and just what it was that made Cheers such a special experience for the people who made it and the people who watched. Where Everybody Knows Your Name by Pastor Lee Brown
Singer-songwriter and recording artist Gary Portnoy has written many songs recorded by both himself and other artists, however his most famous composition is "Where Everybody Knows Your Name," known to many as the theme song to the television sitcom "Cheers." It's the kind of interview I find the most enjoyable. You know the artist's work, but you don't know what their voice sounds like or how their personality is. As it turns out, Gary Portnoy is someone I appreciate and who comes across as very sincere. It's our first episode as all dads, and it's kind of a club banger? Like, you can probably chalk that up to the sleepless delirium that two of the three of us are undergoing, but maybe it's just a manifestation of that good, good lifelong responsibility. Suggested talking points: Dadvice, Young Lovers, Food Pic Stealer, Where Everybody Knows Your Name, Cool Weed Tricks, Touched By An Old Angel, While You Were Sleeping Fans, Courtesy Ginger Ale, Ducking Punches
Matt and Brett get together this week to discuss [Brett’s recent “Andy Rooney moment”][facejam], comedy in comics, the many different types of comedy that could be in comics, and various other comedy-driven talking points. Point is, it gets intense. Then they switch gears to respond to a few listeners who sent in their problems with “The Dark Knight Rises,” in a new segment dubbed The Letters Column! (Want to suggest a better title than “The Letters Column”? Tweet it to @brettwhite and you could win a prize!) Next week on the show, Matt and Brett will be reading a comedy comic: Michael Kupperman’s Tales Designed To Thrizzle #1! You can get the first issue on Comixology, or buy the whole first volume on Amazon.
