Text Sue what you think! One of the biggest shifts for unschooling parents is moving away from directing learning and stepping into the subtle but powerful art of noticing. Instead of orchestrating every next step, we learn to pay attention—to what excites our child, what sparks their curiosity, and how they naturally engage with the world. This shift is what makes true self-directed, interest-based learning possible. It's not about following a prescribed curriculum but about recognizing that your child is already learning naturally, and trusting that process.Turns out, unschooling parents have picked up some secrets from stage managers—who knew? Just like a great stage manager works behind the scenes to create the perfect conditions for a performance, unschooling parents learn that their role isn't to direct every move but to notice, anticipate, and support. The real magic happens not in controlling the scene, but in tuning in to what's unfolding naturally—anticipating and adjusting, providing resources, and trusting that the star of the show (your child!) is already learning in their own way.In this episode, we'll explore: ✨ Why Noticing is more powerful than Directing ✨ How tuning in—rather than taking charge—leads to deeper learning & individualization ✨ How to support natural learning and curiosity without pushing or orchestrating ✨ How small shifts in your parenting role can make unschooling feel easier and be more effective

In this episode of the Prepared School Psych Podcast, host Jenny Ponzuric discusses her learnings from the recently concluded five-part training series, 'Goals Drive Services' The series focused on various steps for writing an effective IEP, starting from assessment best practices to goals and services. Jenny highlights five major takeaways: the gaps in graduate school training, the challenge of writing parent-friendly language, the importance of IEP documents passing the 'stranger test,' clarity in documenting accommodations, and ensuring the IEP is truly individualized. She emphasizes the need for continuous support and training to enhance the effectiveness and comprehensibility of IEPs. While it can be argued that there is a general recipe for strength training (warm-up, main lifts, accessory lifts, supplementary work), the skill and art of putting together an effective program comes in the individualization of each element. There are infinite combinations of exercises, sets, reps, loads, and rests, and manipulating any parameter will yield different results. On this weeks episode we dive into different considerations when creating a strength program for an individual (or yourself!). Want to dive deeper? Check out our blog: Individualizing a Strength Program- how to make a strength program that works for YOU! The Nitty Gritty Training Podcast is hosted by Jessica O'Connell, MSc, CSEP-CEP, OLY, and Faye Stenning, BKin, and coaches at Grit Coaching! We offer custom run and strength training for runners, OCR, and hybrid athletes. Check us out!

In this episode, Doug and Dennis discuss the appropriate use of vasopressors, specifically epinephrine and norepinephrine, in the management of shock. They highlight the importance of fluids in sepsis resuscitation and the potential dangers of using high concentrations of epinephrine. They also discuss the different effects of epinephrine and norepinephrine on heart rate and blood pressure, and the potential side effects of epinephrine, such as arrhythmias and lactic acidosis. The conversation concludes with a discussion on the use of epinephrine in anaphylaxis and the importance of individualizing treatment based on the patient's response. Takeaways Epinephrine is commonly used as a vasopressor in the management of shock, but it should be used with caution due to its potential side effects. Norepinephrine is often preferred over epinephrine in sepsis resuscitation due to its more selective vasoconstrictive effects and lower risk of arrhythmias. Fluid resuscitation is an important component of sepsis management and should be prioritized before initiating vasopressor therapy. Monitoring the patient's response to vasopressor therapy, including blood pressure, heart rate, and organ perfusion, is crucial in determining the effectiveness and safety of the treatment. Individualizing treatment based on the patient's specific needs and response is essential in optimizing outcomes in shock management. A lot of coaches like to talk about building individualized training plans, but more often that not their athlete's programs start looking all the same. Paul Solberg is a bit different. He's coaching some of the world's top throwers, and they take very different approaches to reach the same goal. He joins us on this week's podcast to share his process for understanding athletes, tailoring training plan, training intensities, building training blocks, and much more. Solberg's former coach Asmund Martinsen was our guest on HMMR Podcast 268. Solberg is of course highly influenced by his background in the javelin throw and we've looked at the javlin throw in more detail on GAINcast 156 with Steve Backley and GAINcast 175 with javelin coach Mike Barber. More classical approaches to block periodization were discussed on Episode 28 with Tony Ciarelli. In the HMMR Classroom we've also touched on Bondarchuk's training philosophy in Video Lesson 1, periodization and planning trends in Video Lesson 3, specific strength for throwing in Video Lesson 9, and many other topics covered in this episode.
