From http://www.atlasshruggedpart1.com/about#synopsis: Atlas Shrugged Movie: Part I Film Synopsis Dagny Taggart (Taylor Schilling) runs Taggart Transcontinental, the largest remaining railroad company in America, with intelligence, courage and integrity, despite the systematic disappearance of her best and most competent workers. She is drawn to industrialist Henry Rearden (Grant Bowler), one of the few men whose genius and commitment to his own ideas match her own. Rearden's super-strength metal alloy, Rearden Metal, holds the promise that innovation can overcome the slide into anarchy. Using the untested Rearden Metal, they rebuild the critical Taggart rail line in Colorado and pave the way for oil titan Ellis Wyatt (Graham Beckel) to feed the flame of a new American Renaissance. Hope rises again, when Dagny and Rearden discover the design of a revolutionary motor based on static electricity - in an abandoned engine factory - more proof to the sinister theory that the "men of the mind" (thinkers, industrialists, scientists, artists, and other innovators) are "on strike" and vanishing from society.

Some—like General Douglas MacArthur’s immortal “Duty, Honor, Country” speech or Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address—were obvious selections. Others are less well-known, like Captain Mosley Baker’s speech at San Jacinto, which urged Texans fighting for their lives to “Remember the Alamo!” The Essential American: 25 Documents and Speeches Every American Should Own highlights different aspects of America’s character. Reflections on America’s origins, like Calvin Coolidge’s “Inspiration of the Declaration of Independence” and Daniel Webster’s “Discourse, Delivered at Plymouth” were delivered in times of peace and prosperity. General Dwight D. Eisenhower’s “Order of the Day” on D–Day, FDR’s address to Congress after Pearl Harbor was attacked, and President George W. Play Episode Listen Later Mar 25, 2011 16:25

From SB Nation: Mycal Jones was drafted by the Braves in the fourth round in 2009 out of junior college. Despite being a college product, he was drafted as a raw infielder with great athleticism. That showed in his first full season in 2010. Jones struggled at the beginning of the season, but a big turnaround in May sparked what became a good year for him. His numbers at A- Rome are a product of his early slump, but the tear promoted him to A+ Myrtle Beach, not to mention he needed to be on the move at 23 years old. He had the most plate appearances at the Beach, where his numbers continued to improve all around, especially his on-base stats. A .361 wOBA and 122 wRC+ is great to see for Jones. He earned a promotion to AA Mississippi for the last week of the season, where he will return to begin 2011. Jones' numbers spell out a raw hitter with decent on-base ability, decent zone discipline, a little more pop that you'd expect and smart base stealing ability. He will never have great walk rates and may strike out more than you'd like to see, but he keeps the on-base and power numbers respectable. Whether that will continue in the upper levels remains to be seen. Jones is very raw on defense, showing good range but shaky motions and hands, resulting in a lot of errors. These things are fairly easy to improve on with time, and Jones is in the process of learning second base to further his development and time. Giving him the chance to learn a new position will only help his defense. With time, Jones should become a good defensive infielder, but not great. Jones relies on his athleticism to further his development. His raw ability on offense and defense takes time to adjust, and it will only be tougher for him in AA. At 24 years old this season, he doesn't have a ton of time to toil between AA and AAA. If he can adjust quickly, there's no reason he can't be a candidate for a utility role by 2012. But there is a chance he could get stuck. Three Things to Look For in 2011: 1) AA Jump 2) Defense 3) OBP Destination in 2011: All at AA; chance of late promotion to AAA ETA: 2012 Ceiling: Starting 2B or SS My Prediction: Starting 2B for a few years; Utility Infielder the rest To find out more about Mycal Jones or to track his progress please visit: http://www.talkingchop.com/2010/7/8/1557849/interview-with-braves-shortstop http://twitter.com/mykejones21 http://atlanta.sbnation.com/atlanta-braves/2011/1/5/1916134/atlanta-braves-top-30-prospects-no-14-mycal-jones

From Amazon: Product Description In The Next American Revolution, Charles R. Hooper empowers the citizens of America with the information needed to demand congressional reform. Each individual American has the right and the power to legally, safely, and effectively take back their Congress. The four constitutional mechanisms available to the people to improve their government--speech, assembly, petition, and elections--have apparently stopped working. Fortunately, the Founding Fathers left their descendants with a never used, yet very real and effective fifth constitutional power. Americans can momentarily lay aside their differences and focus their combined powers toward one common cause--a revolution calling for a convention of the states specifically and solely for the purpose of restoring a people's legislature. The author explains why this is the peoples' best (and last) hope of seriously reforming the legislative branch of government. From Regnery's website: You Will Never See Obama the Same Way Again He’s been called many things: a socialist, a radical fellow traveler, a Chicago machine politician, a prince of the civil rights movement, a virtual second coming of Christ, or even a covert Muslim. But as New York Times bestselling author Dinesh D’Souza points out in his controversial new book, The Roots of Obama’s Rage, these labels merely slap our own preconceived notions on Barack Obama. The real Obama is a man shaped by experiences far different from those of most Americans; he is a much stranger, more determined, and exponentially more dangerous man than you’d ever imagined. He is not motivated by civil rights struggles, socialist principles, or the tenets of Islam. What really motivates Barack Obama is an inherited rage—an often masked, but profound rage that comes from his African father; an anti-colonialist rage against Western dominance, and most especially against the wealth and power of the very nation Barack Obama now leads. It is this rage that explains the previously inexplicable, and that gives us a startling look at what might lie ahead. In The Roots of Obama’s Rage you’ll learn: -Why Obama’s economic policies are actually designed to make America poorer compared to the rest of the world -Why Obama will welcome a nuclear Iran -Why Obama sees America as a rogue nation—worse than North Korea -The real reason Obama banished a bust of Winston Churchill from the White House and ordered NASA to praise the scientific contributions of Muslims -Why Obama would like to make America’s superpower status a thing of the past Stunning, provocative, original, and telling—no one has better diagnosed who Obama is, what he intends to do, and why he poses an existential threat to America than Dinesh D’Souza in The Roots of Obama’s Rage. "As Americans, liberty is an inalienable right that is granted to us by God, protected by the Constitution, and upheld by our government. Yet, Barack Obama doesn’t seem to share that view. To him, liberty is a threat to the government’s power and something to be squashed by any means possible, as bestselling author David Limbaugh shows to devastating effect in his new book, Crimes Against Liberty. In Crimes Against Liberty, Limbaugh issues a damning indictment of President Barack Obama for encroaching upon and stripping us of our individual and sovereign rights. Laying out his case like he would a criminal complaint, Limbaugh presents the evidence—count-by-count—against Obama. From exploiting the financial crisis for political gain, to restricting our personal freedoms through invasive healthcare and “green” policies, to endangering America with his feckless diplomacy and reckless dismantlement of our national security systems, Limbaugh proves—beyond a reasonable doubt—that Obama is guilty of crimes against liberty. Congressman Nunes is the author of Restoring the Republic: A Clear, Concise, and Colorful Blueprint for America's Future. My audience knows that my show is solution centric. I don't care to waste your time or my own with petty politics. Congressman Nunes has a plan and vision from America, and coming from a very blue state that is under a mountain of debt, he is a welcome surprise to the old school GOP political structure. "Rep. Devin Nunes is a Congressman from the agriculturally rich San Joaquin Valley of California. He is currently serving in his fourth term in the House of Representatives and is a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee, which has jurisdiction over tax policy, Social Security, Medicare, and trade. He also is a member of the House Budget Committee. Congressman Nunes is a native of Tulare County, where his family has farmed for three generations. The Nunes family immigrated to America from Portugal’s Azores islands. They are part of a large Portuguese community living in the San Joaquin Valley, many of whom help to cultivate our nation’s most productive farmland. The 21st Congressional District, which includes all of Tulare County and parts of Fresno County, is the most diverse and valuable farm land in the United States. The region consistently ranks first in the nation; both in terms of crop diversity and crop value. It is also the largest milk shed in the world. Congressman Nunes graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and a master’s degree in agriculture. Following college, he focused his attention on educational issues and was elected to the Board of Trustees for the College of the Sequoias (COS). During his tenure on the COS Board of Trustees, Nunes led the effort to provide smaller communities greater access to the Internet and satellite educational services. He also worked to provide more opportunities for high school students to access community college classes. In 2001, Nunes was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as California State Director for the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development. "Elected as South Carolina’s 55th senator in 2004 after serving six years in the U.S House of Representatives, Jim DeMint has quickly established himself as one of the most effective conservative leaders in Washington. He was recently ranked as the Senate’s most conservative member by National Journal and as the number one senator voting for responsible tax and spending policies by the National Taxpayer Union. Even as a freshman, Jim has shown that he has no interest in sitting on the sidelines in the Senate. Instead, he has leveraged his expertise in placing products and ideas in a crowded marketplace, gained as the owner of a small market research firm. He has become an effective national voice in Washington’s fight to regain the trust of the American people, most recently on the issues of immigration and wasteful spending. In late 2006, he was elected by his colleagues as Chairman of the Senate Steering Committee, which is comprised of the majority of Republican senators and works to shape and advance conservative legislation. He also serves on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation; Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; Foreign Relations and Joint Economic Committees. The senator and his wife, Debbie, reside in Greenville, South Carolina and are the proud parents of four married children. They are also greatly enjoying their new role as grandparents (http://www.jimdemint.com/who-i-am/)."
