These things may bring instant peace and quiet to the home allowing the parent to get on with their tasks, but the question we ask today is how will this shape them as members of the human family, now and in the future? How can we have a win win so that parents and children get what they need. What is your vision for your family? Is it to have work-life balance and to raise happy, healthy, well-balanced and capable children? If so how are you going to achieve this?  Anyone who has achieved something great in life started with an inspiring vision. Ghandi had a vision of peace,  Martin Luther King Jn's powerful speach began with "I have a dream". Oprah Winfry, said "As a young child, I had a vision, not of what I wanted to accomplish, but I knew that my current circumstances would change." and of course change they have. These are just some of the many people who we admire and have fulfilled or continue to live their inspirational visions. So what is your vision of parenthood? What are your hopes and dreams for your children? We know from research that people who have written down goals are more likely to achieve them than those who don't. Think of something you have achieved in your life that you are proud of. Did you hold the vision of its completion and the rewards in your mind. Were you inspired to get up every day and do one more thing that would get you closer to your achieveing your goal? And then one day you came to the realisation that "you did it"... all the hard work and effort paid off. If we are unclear about our vision of parenthood and our vision for our children, we will just continue to muddle our way through without a clear direction or purpose. We leave our children's future to chance! If you want to have an inspirational vision of parenthood - one where you see yourself empowering your children with all of the skills they need to navigate life safely, successfully and joyfully then join Dr Robyn Mills and Dr Rosina McAlpine as they explore this topic and share their own hopes and dreams for parenthood, grandparent hood and for their children.

Presenters: Inspirational speaker Dr Robyn Mills www.RobynMills.com.au Dr Rosina McAlpine parenting expert: life skills for kids in 15 minutes at a time www.DrRosina.com    How many times have we wished we could put an old head on new shoulders? I know my life would have been different if I only knew back then what I know now. Of course our children need to live and learn thorugh their own experiences and we don't want to stifle their new ideas and ways of being. However, there is room for parents, grandparents and teachers to share the life experiences and the insights that come from the wisdom of hindsight to inspire our youth to be the best version of themselves they can be. Here are some of our life insights 1. Its OK to be me... I dont have to be like others to be liked or fit in. 2. Be kind to yourself. Listen for any limiting beliefs, negative self talk or negative overgeneralisations and replace them with more empowering thoughts and beliefs. 3. Have a vision, follow your dream but know that it could get rocky on the way and that like the "little engine that could" being resilient and persistent, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, is the way to personal growth and success. Life is filled with ups and downs and while we can't control what happens around us - we can learn how to find strength inside and manage what happens within us 4. Be kind and, at least be open to, listening to your parents. They are your biggest cheer leaders and while it doesn't always seem that way - they have your best interest at heart... www.drrosina.com          www.robynmills.com

It is a wondrous experience to be alive and participate in the unfolding of the Great Shift of the Ages predicted by the Mayans. As the vibrations of all on the planet continually rise, we co-create the New Earth in each moment with every thought, word and action we choose consciously or unconsciously. I am told by Spirit that we are going through an unprecedented time on the planet and that I, too, will receive the new consciousness and gifts as I speak them. They will unfold spontaneously in the moment, aligning with Spirit and the energies pouring into the planet each month. Elisabeth will help us remember and embody, more and more fully, the Divine Hu-man Be-ings that we truly are. We can then choose in each moment from our highest consciousness, utilizing all that we are and carry, in conscious evolution. In essence all that is required of us is to Re-member who we are and celebrate – living it joyously.   (articles and a free download of a cd called to living in the oneness) www.nzthefirstlight.com/joyfully-co-creating-the-new-earth/ www.shamanic.ac.nz

Emotions are a very misunderstood part of who we are and yet they are our guidance mechanism system. They are like our GPS for our lives, which have been distorted by conditioning and painful past events. However, especially as women, we have an innate emotional wisdom if we know how to reconnect with it. It is about acknowledging our adaptive emotions and working through conditions patterns from the past.  This is what Vanessa Bushell my guest and author of, “Don't tell me to get over it: A women's guide to navigating emotional overwhelm” is all about. It might not seem that way, when we look back at some of the parenting practices of our parents and grandparents. While some parenting approaches remain the same others are very different today and have changed with the times. Do you parent in the same way your parents and grandparents parented you? In this interview, we'll explore how parenting has changed by looking at the things your parents & grandparents said about raising kids. Perhaps as a child you were told: Behave or you'll get a clip around there ear (or worse)Kids should be seen and not heard; speak only when spoken tooEat everything on your plate – there's starving children in AfricaIf you break a mirror you'll have seven years of bad luckTo be quiet – what will the neighbours think, or thatYou should turn the other cheek? Taking a closer look at some of the parenting techniques of past generations we seek to understand more about their impact on children and the intentions that underpinned this parenting. Dr Robyn Mills interviews Dr Rosina McAlpine, creator of the Inspired Children Parenting Program, to see if these parenting approaches are still relevant today, and if not, how can we take the good intentions behind these practices and bring them into a new paradigm of modern parenting.
