Four Soul Types, Nervous System Healing, and Hayley Enright's Remote Energy Work Acupuncturist and energy worker Hayley Enright has given 16,000+ treatments and founded four studios in three countries. In this episode, we discuss her remote energy-work modality and how she perceives information by seeing, feeling, and knowing through her subtle senses. Hayley explains her framework of four soul types: earth souls, interplanetary, angelics (wounded and savior), and "light souls". Understanding which type a client is deepens her ability to support their nervous system and guide more effective healing and support. We explore themes of belonging, neurodivergence, grounding, sensitivity, boundaries, trauma and forgiveness for angelics, and whether "NPCs" exist. Hayley also shares her fascinating past/future healer memories. This is a don't miss episode for those interested in spiritual awakening, ascension, and soul purpose. This week we're discussing Making Peace with Our Past with Dr. Dan Allender. Most of us know our story. We could tell it in five minutes if someone asked. But knowing what happened and actually being free from it are two very different things. For a lot of solo parents, the past shows up uninvited, in a sharp reaction that didn't fit the moment, a fear that surfaces when things finally feel calm, a pattern with your kids you swore you'd never repeat. It doesn't mean you haven't tried. It means the trying might need to go a little deeper. And the longer we avoid that, the more the past quietly runs the present. In this conversation, Robert Beeson, Founder and CEO of Solo Parent, and Elizabeth Cole, single parent and co-host, sit down with Dr. Dan Allender, a clinical psychologist and author who has spent decades helping people face their stories honestly and find real freedom on the other side. His books The Wounded Heart, The Healing Path, and To Be Told have walked thousands through the hard work of understanding how the past is still shaping the present and what it actually takes to change that. Together they explore why avoidance keeps us stuck, how shame operates and what disarms it, and why grief and anger aren't problems to manage but forces that, held together, can finally move you forward. The conversation is honest, practical, and grounded in real experience from all three voices at the table. Key Insights from This Episode: Ignoring the past doesn't free you. It makes you reactive. The unaddressed past doesn't disappear, it shows up in your parenting, your relationships, and the moments you least expect it. Shame has to be faced, defied, and disarmed with kindness. Running from shame guarantees it follows you, but meeting it with defiance and then gentleness is what actually loosens its grip. Grief and anger belong together. Each one needs the other. Anger without grief hardens you, grief without anger drowns you, but held together they're what actually moves you forward. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. You are not alone. Jyoti Chand grew up the youngest child and only girl in a Punjabi immigrant family in West Covina, California, in the middle of a 95% Mexican neighborhood, in a gang-infiltrated area, in a household where her dad ironed her clothes, did the laundry, cooked the food, and showed up to every parent-teacher conference while her mom worked nights. She was spoiled with love. She was the class clown with a binder of printed jokes. She was the smart one, the good girl, the straight-A kid who also snuck out to Bong Fest, talked back to everyone, and graduated high school at 16. She was also someone who had no idea that alcohol was quietly shaping her entire story. In this episode of Sense of Self, Dr. Gowri Aragam sits down with Jyoti Chand, known to hundreds of thousands as Mama Jotes, a mom, a content creator, founder of Jyotes by Jyoti Chand, author of the graphic novel Fitting Indian, and one of the most genuinely funny and disarmingly honest voices on the internet. What starts as a warm, hilarious conversation about growing up first-generation in LA becomes something much more honest. A story about dual identity, undiagnosed ADHD, inherited anxiety and depression, a suicide attempt at 18 that her university tried to quietly erase, abusive relationships she didn't think she deserved better than, and the slow realization that the substance she thought was just fun was actually the main character in a story she desperately wanted to rewrite. And then she stopped drinking. And everything changed. 00:00 Cold Open and Retakes 00:54 Mom Life Small Talk 01:49 Name Origin and Fireworks 04:14 Growing Up West Covina 07:18 Assimilating and Blending In 11:57 Home Life and Superdad 16:17 Sibling Chaos and Teen Rebellion 22:10 Comedy as Survival 28:09 High School Anxiety and Coping 33:00 Family Mental Health Patterns 35:37 Modeling Coping Skills 36:20 Breaking Generational Cycles 37:27 Growing Up Too Fast 38:24 College Freedom Party Life 43:17 When Drinking Feeds Anxiety 45:00 Alcohol and Parenting Boundaries 47:18 Good Girl Bad Girl Split 52:51 Breakup Depression Spiral 56:40 Hospital Hold and Dorm Fallout 59:35 Therapy Break the Cycle 01:07:30 Writing as Healing Path 01:11:39 Self Worth and Relationships 01:12:41 Choosing Love Through Discomfort 01:15:01 Brunch Meltdown and the Ring 01:18:13 Reparative Love and Co Regulation 01:23:31 Alcohol After Marriage and Motherhood 01:27:20 Moderation Fails and Pandemic Spiral 01:28:23 Dry January and Quit Like a Woman 01:35:19 Sobriety Fuels Creativity and Growth 01:43:02 Self Esteem and Resilience Muscle 01:48:06 Who I Am Now and Closing About Our Guest: Jyoti Chand, known online as Mama Jotes, is a content creator, author, and advocate for first-generation Americans navigating identity, mental health, and sobriety. Kate Hammond — founder of Zen Den Healing — joins us to share her 10-year journey into energy healing, Reiki, and the art of crafting chakra sprays infused with moon water, crystals, and intention. We also witness a live charm casting reading for the podcast itself — and it's uncanny. Plus: tarot, earthing, mediumship, and why you don't need to "believe" to feel the shift. One of our favourite episodes yet.#creativetalkpodcast, hosts Kebrasca and Amber King welcome Kate Hammond — founder of Zen Den Healing — for a rich, joyful and deeply insightful conversation about the world of energy healing, healing sprays, and the art of charm casting.Kate shares her ten-year journey from picking up her first oracle card deck to completing her Ashati energy healing mastery and building a healing practice that blends Reiki, tarot, subconscious healing and now charm casting — a divination method using symbolic charms based in tasseography (tea leaf reading) symbolism.Kate also reveals the process behind her chakra sprays: crafted with full moon water, specific crystals, essential oils and infused with energy symbols and sound frequency — then describes how scent works at a cellular level to shift emotional and energetic states. The trio explore earthing and grounding, what clients most commonly seek healing for, whether belief is required for energy healing to work, and how healing timelines differ from person to person. The episode features a live charm casting reading for Creative Talk Podcast, and closes with a tarot spread for Kate's Zen Den Healing business — past, present and future — with powerful cards including the Lovers, the Chariot, the Empress and the Magician signalling a period of bold creative expansion.

In the recovery process, it can be painful to acknowledge and admit some things from our past, and present that are causing havoc on our life and relationships. The retraining and redeeming process is not always easy and can become an obstacle to continuing the road to recovery. In this episode, Rodney Holmstrom, Global Field, Director of celebrate recovery, will unpack some of the ways things seem to get harder on our journey and confuse us toward possibly giving up on the healing journey. What are some things that we can be aware of to be encourage in the hard struggle that can be indicators toward healing, change, and growth?
In the last episode, we unpacked, at a high-level what addictions are and hopefully grow our curiosity and empathy toward the reasons why addictions might show up in our life. But what is the path toward freedom look like? In this episode, Rodney Holmstrom, Global Field Director of celebrate recovery, will help us continue the conversation around addictions and how the path toward freedom through CR can help us work toward lasting recovery.
In this episode, I sit down with Jenna Riemersma to talk about something I believe many men in porn addiction recovery need to understand: the role painful emotions play in keeping us stuck. Most men trying to overcome porn addiction think the answer is more discipline, control, and resistance. But in my own life and in the lives of the men I work with, I've seen that the deeper issue is often not just lust. It's emotional pain. It's shame, loneliness, fear, pressure, self-sabotage, and the inner burdens we keep trying to escape. Porn becomes a fast way to numb, soothe, distract, or feel relief—but it never heals the deeper wound. That's why this conversation with Jenna is so powerful. Jenna is a CSAT supervisor, IFS therapist, and the author of Move Toward. In this episode, we explore how Internal Family Systems, also known as parts work, can help men understand their porn addiction triggers, respond to relapse differently, and begin real emotional healing instead of just fighting symptoms. We talk about why shame and porn addiction are deeply connected, how self-sabotage works in recovery, why painful emotions are not the enemy, and how healing begins when we stop running from what hurts and start moving toward it with courage and compassion. We also break down Jenna's simple but powerful framework: Notice, Know, Need. This gives men a practical tool to use in real time when they feel triggered, overwhelmed, ashamed, lonely, or pulled toward porn. Instead of staying trapped in the old cycle of urge, escape, and regret, this framework helps us slow down, understand what is happening inside, and meet our real needs in healthier ways.Learn more about Jenna Riemersma:WebsiteFree Guided Move Toward MeditationsBooks:Move TowardAltogether YouIFS IntegrationWorkshop:On-Demand Workshop for Altogether You — Get 15% off Jenna's workshop with discount code: AY15Link to Blog Article for this EpisodeVisit No More Desire Tools for Recovery for recovery tools and training, including my free eBook, Workshop, The RAIL Method ™ and more to help you break free from porn.If you're tired of trying to quit porn on your own, the No More Desire Academy gives you a structured path to recovery through coaching, brotherhood, practical tools, and step-by-step training. As an avid learner who is not satisfied with mediocre understanding of a problem, naturopathic medicine suits me well. If I am not able to solve a clinical puzzle, an irresistible urge to understand and master it bubbles up inside of me, which spurs me to continue searching for a solution. The more I study medicine, the more I want to learn, and the wide variety of complex scenarios in natural medicine provides a perfect avenue for me to exercise this curiosity.I am aware of the challenges facing the naturopathic profession, but ironically, these challenges are what make this profession so rewarding. They continue to drive me as a naturopathic consultant and inspire me to better understand and treat human illnesses. My practice, the Center for Natural Health & Optimal Wellness LLC, offers patients natural and drug-free services, covering digestion disorders, arthritis, ADHD, adrenal fatigue, and stress management, and others. As a result, I continue to serve as an active consultant and medical investigator to many physicians in different areas of medicine, where I offer alternative solutions to many challenging and complex clinical scenarios. The boundary between conventional and naturopathic medicine isn't as rigid as most people think—and Dr. Paul Dabney's remarkable journey proves it. After spending 14 years at the FDA and conducting antimicrobial resistance research for the CDC, Dr. Dabney found himself drawn to natural healing approaches that complemented his scientific background. His transition began when investigating the antimicrobial properties of green and black tea, opening his eyes to alternative treatment pathways that conventional medicine often overlooks.Dr. Dabney brings a wealth of knowledge to complex conditions that frequently puzzle mainstream healthcare providers. What does it really mean to be deeply well—not just symptom-free or spiritually polished, but truly grounded, embodied, and alive? In this episode, Dharma teachers Melina Bondy and Arti Mehta explore this question through the lenses of contemplative practice, psychotherapy, somatics, art, and community care. Together we reflect on how meditation and the Dharma shape our understanding of wellness—not as an escape from life's struggles, but as a courageous turning toward them. We discuss how to stay with discomfort without bypassing, the role of the body in healing, and the tensions between spiritual ideals and lived experience. We also ask: Can wellness itself become a form of resistance? What does it mean to be well together? And how can we honour both safety and challenge in our communities? This is a rich and honest conversation about the nonlinear path to being deeply well—and what it takes to share that path with others.

In part one of this two-part conversation, we walked along the edge of paradox where effort gives way to ease and the search itself becomes the obstacle. In this second part of my conversation with Zen teacher Henry Shukman, the way begins to reveal itself, not as something we grasp, but something we live. We talk about awakening, the collapse of separation, and what it means to encounter reality directly beyond language, beyond self. And we find ourselves circling the same mystery from different directions, Henry through the Zen path and his app The Way and me through a new project with Rebind, which is a new AI powered dialogue with the Tao Te Ching. Healing is non-linear, not particularly pretty, frustrating at times, and can feel like its 'not working'. If this is happening to you please remember that it is not ALL of you that feels this way. The part of you that is attached to the habit or behavior that you want to change is in need of compassion and understanding. Its really important to acknowledge where change IS happening even if it seems slight or infrequent. Hypnosis is an incredible tool for habit change and the effects are long lasting and continue to evolve.I invite you to experience the shifts for yourself.Book a single custom hypnosis session.Book an Alcohol Awareness Breakthrough Session (specifically for people who want to heal from Alcohol Use Disorder).Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/mindful-drinking-for-women/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

How can we live in solidarity with the pain of the world without being overwhelmed by it? In this episode, we're joined once again by CAC Faculty member James Finley and an additional co-host from the CAC, Director of Mission Integration Drew Jackson. Together, we continue our chapter-by-chapter exploration of Eager to Love with Chapter 2: “A Happy Run Downward: The Inner Authority of Those Who Have Suffered.” This episode explores the themes of suffering as a path to compassion, the transformative power of mystical union, and the importance of finding solace in belovedness. Before we dive into the interview with Jim, Mike and Paul catch up with Richard at his hermitage to hear his reflections on the first chapter of Eager to Love. James Finley, a clinical psychologist and spiritual director, is one of the core faculty members of the Center for Action and Contemplation and is the host of our sister podcast on the CAC network, Turning to the Mystics.
