Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beer-sheba. And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment. Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. This morning I will be changing Topics. Instead of continuing in the Book of Revelation, I thought it best if I were to talk about the Birth of Yahshua Messiah or as many Christians say Jesus Christ. Now I know that next Sunday many churches in Sussex County and across this great nation and throughout the world will be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ or as I like to say Yahshua Messiah. But here lies the question that I am asking you, the listeners this morning, “Was Yahshua Messiah really born on our December 25?Can your pastor or reverend tell you without batting an eye that Yahshua Messiah was born on December 25th? Many pastors will tell you that we may not know the exact date, but that's okay, because this is the day that the church fathers of old picked! My dear friends, the problem with that answer is the fact that December 25 is actually a pagan holiday! That's right, you heard me, a pagan holiday!Paul wrote in Colossians 2:8, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Yahshua Messiah.” Luke Chapter 1 verse 5Abijah = This was the eighth of the priestly courses of ministration in the Temple (1 Chronicles 24:10), and occurred, as did the others, twice in the year.  The "Courses" were changed every week, beginning each with a Sabbath. The reckoning commenced on the 22nd day of Tisri Bearing in mind that all the courses served together at the three Great Feasts, the dates for the two yearly "ministrations" of Abiah will be seen to fall as follows: The first 9 ministration was from 12-18 Chisleu = December 6-12. The second ministration was from 12-18 Sivan = June 13-19.  The announcement therefore to Zacharias in the Temple as to the conception of John the Baptist took place between 12-18 SIVAN (June 13-19), in the year 5 B.C. After finishing his "ministration", the aged priest "departed to his own house" (Luke 1:23), which was in a city10 in "the hill country" of Juda (verse 39).  The day following the end of the "Course of Abia" being a Sabbath (Sivan 19), he would not be able to leave Jerusalem before the 20th.  The thirty miles journey would probably occupy, for an old man, a couple of days at least. He would therefore arrive at his house on the 21st or 22nd. This leaves ample time for the miraculous "conception" of Elizabeth to take place on or about 23rd of SIVAN 11 - which would correspond to June 23-24 of that year. The fact of the conception and its date would necessarily be known at the time and afterwards, and hence the 23rd SIVAN would henceforth be associated with the conception of John Baptist as the 1st TEBETH would be with that of our Lord. The conception of John Baptist  | on or about 23rd SIVAN = June 24  | in the year 5 B.C. The Gennesis (Begetting) of our Lord  | on or about 1st TEBETH = December 25  | in the year 5 B.C. The birth of John Baptist  | on or about 4th-7th NISAN = March 25-28  | in the year 4 B.C. The birth of our Lord  | on or about 15th TISRI = September 29  | in the year 4 B.C. 280 days = 40 weeks - forty sevens, the perfect period of human gestation7x5x8=280]. The Component Numbers of 280 are highly significant in this connection.  7 denotes Spiritual Perfection.  5 denotes Divine Grace.  8 denotes Resurrection, Regeneration, Join me as we go Chapter by Chapter, Verse by Verse, Unraveling the Words of Yahweh!Have any questions? Believe His Prophets

And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord.7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.10 And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king.11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.16 And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the Lord will not hear you in that day.19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the Lord.22 And the Lord said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.

As the Churches around the world begin to celebrate their Christmas Traditions, we must ask ourselves, “Was Jesus Christ or as I like to say Yahshua Messiah really born into this world on this Dec. 25th day?”In this morning's study, I intend to answer that question!Scriptures used in this study, Luke 1, 1 Chronicles 24:10. Also Dr. Bullinger's Appendix 179 #3 “Christmas” celebrations are foreign to the pages of Scripture: Biblically, “Christmas” does not exist. There is no account of Christians gathering to celebrate the birth of the Messiah to be found anywhere in the New Testament. Even the wise men of Matthew's account, who came in response to the appearance of His birth star in the sky, did not celebrate together about His birth (Matthew 2:1-13); they traveled from their own country bearing gifts in order to worship the child (and the Scriptures indicate that this occurred long after Yahshua was born—his family was living in a house, not a stable, and Yahshua could have been as old as two years of age). Christians did not begin to celebrate the birth of the Messiah until the 2nd century AD. The Roman Catholic Church did not begin its “Feast of the Nativity” until AD 336. Luke 1:5 This verse 5 sets the foundation for the birth of John the Baptist and Yahshua MessiahZacharias = “Yah has remembered Elisabeth = ”God of Oath”. Her son being that oath and promiseZacharias is a Levite Priest. Note that his wife Elizabeth is also a Levite or from the tribe of Aaron. For a Priest must marry within his tribe.  Abijah = “My Father is Yahweh” What is this course? This is the 8th course of 24. In which King David set up at his time of rule. Read 1 Chro. 24, especially verse 10. According to custom, each of the Priests must officiate for one full week in the Temple of God. The courses started at the first New Moon of the first month of the Jewish Civil Year. Now, knowing this, Zacharias course fell on our June 13-19. This period of time important, for this sets the time of the birth and conception of John and His cousin Yahshua, our Saviour. [Note the course run form Sabbath to Sabbath]This was the  eighth  of the priestly courses of ministration in the Temple, and occurred, as did the others, twice in the year.  The "Courses" were changed every week, beginning each with a Sabbath.  The reckoning commenced on the 22nd day of Tisri or Ethanim . This was the eighth and last day of the Feast of Tabernacles = the "Great Day of the Feast"  and was a Sabbath.  The first course fell by lot to Jehoiarib, and the eighth to Abia or Abijah.  Bearing in mind that all the courses served together at the three Great Feasts, the dates for the two yearly "ministrations" of Abiah will be seen to fall as follows:The first ministration was from December 6 - 12.  The second ministration was from June 13 - 19.The announcement therefore to Zacharias in the Temple as to the conception of John the Baptist took place between 12 - 18 SIVAN (June 13 -19), in the year 5 B.C.  After finishing his "ministration", the aged priest "departed to his own house” which was in a city in "the hill country" of Judah. The Conception of John Baptist on or about June 24  in the year 5 B.C. The  Gennesis  (Begetting) of our Lord on or about  December 25 in the year | 5 B. Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...  For many decades, God used HIS appointed judges to rule over the children of Israel.  But the people saw the other nations having a king over them and they wanted a king like those nations around them had.  They did not want judges of God ruling over them any longer.  So they asked God to give them a king like the other nations had.   God had often used HIS prophets to rule.     I Samuel 8   1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel. 2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba. 3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment. 4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, 5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. 6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. 7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected ME, that I should not reign over them. 8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken ME, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. 9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. 10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king. 11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. 12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. 13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. 15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. 16 And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. 17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. 18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day. 19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; 20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles. 21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD. 22 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.

Singer, songwriter, producer and artist development/vocal coach Jeremiah Abiah is our special guest in this week's podcast episode #155 which is the final episode for 2020. Jeremiah, whose artist name is simply "Abiah" shares an extremely poignant account of his diverse journey in the music industry including working with such artists as Shanice, George Michaels, Amel Larrieux and Yolanda Adams. Having a Cuban and Ghanaian lineage, Jeremiah grew up listening to music throughout the Black diaspora and took an inclination to singing at a very young age. Having attended a performing arts high school and then the New England Conservatory of Music he was well prepared to hit Carnegie's stage at the young age of 20 and was signed to a music label shortly thereafter. Still, he explains the trials and challenges of being an artist and having to truly step into his skin which led him to creating various streams of income within music education at Berklee College of Music and establishing his own company providing vocal coaching and artist development. Listeners will be inspired by Jeremiah's dedication to the craft of performing music while contributing to the arts professional community at large. As we have been examining our tendency-s to follow after our own will over the will of God. We have been looking at first Samuel. We have seen that the decision of Samuels two Sons Joel and Abiah who he had appointed to be judges over Israel were doing so not according to Gods will but according to what they saw as pleasing to themselves. Thus what gave them the greatest reward- This stirred the people to ask Samuel for a King to rule over them. We saw that in 1 Samuel 8-6 -7 that even though Samuel was displeased with this request he took it to the Lord who instructed Samuel to give them a warning that they might be made aware of what they were asking, and when they continued to insist upon a king, a king is what would be given to them. The Lords warning given by Samuel can be found in 1 Samuel 8-10-18. This warning told of how the people under the rule of an earthly king would change. It told of how they would be taxed and some would be taken into service to the king and how many would have portions of the land taken and given to the king-s servants. I think we can see this practice today as the results of man choosing his will over Gods will. As we closed the first part of this message we were beginning to make the connections that God will give us warnings and instructions as to how we should live our lives. Yet when we being blinded fail to see what is clearly lying in our path ahead, thus our insisting that He give us that which He knows we do not need. He will allow us to travel that path providing the very thing we don-t need that hopefully we will come to see the mistake.

Abiah spent his childhood with his single mother, an accomplished musician who accompanied the late operatic Baritone William Warfield in earlier years.  She introduced him to the singers who would become Abiah’s influences: Sarah Vaughn, Anita Baker and later Nina Simone. “They were great singers and song interpreters,” he says. “They were text painters and I believe that’s a lost art.” Abiah honed his skills through the years as a background singer for artists George Michael, Chuck Mangione, Amel Larrieux and Yolanda Adams while cutting his chops in opera as a voice major in college.  By the time his debut album was released in 2006, Abiah already knew exactly what he brought to the table — a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste in music.  His debut album was an underground smash. His video Love For a While, a duet with Shanice Wilson became a hit on VH1 Soul and BET J.  Abiah got practically handed an unexpected cottage industry, when he became an in-demand vocal coach. Initial inquiries from singer-friends impressed by his sound and range has blossomed into a side-business that finds him coaching major label artists, up-and-comers, solid pros hankering to rise up to that proverbial next level, and musical game show contestants hoping to impress celebrity judges with noticeably increased prowess.  He also made an appearance on an Emmy nominated episode of MTV's MADE. The new album, Life As A Ballad, boasts of gems like the gorgeous opener,"September", "Doves", as well as 7 other self-penned originals. To help him capture the songs’ intimacy, Abiah turned to Robert Glasper, his cousin, “We definitely have a great chemistry in the studio.

His debut album was an underground smash. His video Love For a While, a duet with Shanice Wilson became a hit on VH1 Soul and BET J. Not completely vacant from the music since his debut album, Abiah got practically handed an unexpected cottage industry, when he became an in-demand vocal coach. But along with his passion for coaching artists and creating great music in the studio, performing is what Abiah loves most. “There is nothing like feeling and seeing the atmosphere change in a room,” he says. “It’s so important to be in touch with your audience. They come to hear music but leave with their lives changed because of the music. That is my job and calling." The new album, Life As A Ballad, boasts of gems like the gorgeous opener,"September", a well orchestrated melange of achingly mature lyric writing full throated, flowing and tautly controlled vocal drama, lush Beatles-esque harmonies and transcendent, transporting melodicism. There is also the poignant "Doves", a modern interpretation of a Prince classic, as well as seven other self-penned originals. But it’s hardly business as usual for this Rochester, NY native. It never is for Abiah, whose irrepressible spirit, engaging humor, and confident charisma once led Billboard magazine to call him “a singer with an innate ability for passionate songwriting that one cannot learn.” To help him capture the songs’ intimacy, Abiah turned to Blue Note recording artist Robert Glasper, who happens to be his cousin, guitarist/arranger Marvin Sewell, his long time collaborator, and co-producers Keith Witty and Ulysses Owens, Jr. “We definitely have a great chemistry in the studio which is why we were able to record the entire album in one day. Talk about a quick turn around," Abiah says with a laugh. “Robert added such beautiful fabric to the music. Marvin was overflowing with genius and Keith helped me to find all the "right" things like a mad scientist.” For more info: http://www.indiereviewcd.com https://twitter.com/IndieRevue https://www.instagram.com/indie.review https://www.facebook.com/indie.review --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/indie-review/support
