Andrea Young grew up cooking in an Indiana kitchen with her grandmother, Georgia May, where her love of creating beautiful and delicious treats began. She started Sweet Vegan in 2016 out of a desire to combine that early love of caring for loved ones through food with her focus on healthy eating. Transporting people to their happy place and creating a sense of delight is what drives Chef Andrea’s creativity and her mission to make mouthwatering chocolates one can indulge in guilt-free.  Sweet Vegan chocolates rival non-vegan options, while also offering chocolates that are dairy, soy, nut, gluten and always preservative free. They are packed with flavor, real fruit and fresh ingredients. Andrea is a certified vegan chef as well as a graduate of Parsons School of Design. After a long career as an interior architect, she began working as a part-time private chef for celebrities.  Here she developed her signature vegan chocolate recipes and began her journey making healthy food good for the mind and the body. : Episode 1717 - On this Saturday show, we are bringing back an episode from 2016. Dr. Eric Sodicoff joins Vinnie to talk obesity in America, gyms, diabetes, and more.  Https://www.vinnietortorich.com/2020/11/best-of-obesity-in-america-eric-sodicoff-episode-1717 PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS DR. ERIC SODICOFF Dr. Sodicoff is a Certified Internal Medicine specialist. He is also an Obesity Specialist! GYMS & BRO SCIENCE Before big box gyms and bro science, people were thinner. Now, thin is not what it meant before. Fitness is considered the best way to lose weight -- that is BS. Eating badly = weight gain. Going to a big fancy gym is no better than getting on the ground and doing crunches for the weight-loss goal. Europe does not have the same problem as us, largely because bro science and exercise are BS here. It is ALL ABOUT FOOD in reality. OBESITY MEDICINE Low fat does not work! He had trouble answering the question at first about people's weights. He learned more about diets, and realized the SAD was so wrong.  Grelin and leptin are the main factors of obesity, and controlled by what you eat. OBESITY IN AMERICA  America is so fat compared to most countries. We are stuffing people with processed crap! The food pyramid and dietary guidelines make matters worse. Sugar and grain is subsidized by the government This is the problem with America! People with highest BMI are those who buy subsidized crap. We need to work to make real, healthy food less expneisve. Some are pleasantly surprised that they can keep their grocery budget down when they stop buying the snack foods, the sugary drinks and the other sweets. In European countries, they eat some carbs, but they eat REAL food and in smaller portions than Americans, too. We subsidize wheat, corn, and sugar because it makes America money. We need to put our national health first. Obesity kills people in the country, and it's got to stop. We will be crushed under the weight of our own weight, otherwise. FAT DOC IS OUT Go watch it now! We need people to buy and review for it to stay at the top of iTunes pages. Please also share it with family and friends! Available for both rental and purchase.
