Start Your Transformation Now If you're like just about every person on the planet you've wanted something different in your life and you've tried to “change your mindset” to create new things in life, right? And, if you're like most of the planet, a few days later you've found yourself right back in your old patterns and ways. Why does this happen? Easy, “changing your mindset” does not work. It's a left-brain process and behavior and habits come from a different part of the brain, the reptilian brain…so, when trying to think our way to change we have two parts of our brain at odds and the reptilian brain will dominate and always win! In this episode I talk about why changing your mindset never works and I give you a path to what works and what to do instead. Listen, apply, and enjoy! We're often bombarded with messages equating success with rapid achievement and instant gratification. Today we are diving into "slow hope," a sustainable form of hope that doesn't rush outcomes but allows time for healing and growth. Unlike traditional hope tied to quick results, slow hope builds resilience over time. Many feel hopeless amid life's challenges or cling desperately to change. Slow hope shifts this perspective by embracing patience and gradual progress. It encourages us not only to focus on end goals but also appreciate the journey itself. Slow hope isn't about instant fixes; it's about steady optimism through small steps toward big goals without burnout or frustration from unmet expectations. Embracing slow hope transforms how we handle uncertainty—building inner strength against setbacks—and fosters long-term personal growth free from constant stressors demanding quick solutions at every turn in our fast-paced world today! Let's break it down… Key Points: Understanding Slow Hope Unlike traditional hope that is tied to specific outcomes or quick resolutions—a mindset that can lead to burnout when things don't go as planned—slow hope is about fostering resilience through patience and trust in life's process. It encourages individuals not just to focus on immediate results but also on gradual progress over time. The Problem with Rapid Progress Our society's obsession with speed can create unrealistic expectations leading many people into cycles of stress or feeling inadequate when they don't achieve their goals quickly enough. By embracing slow hope instead: You release yourself from unnecessary pressures. You open up space for genuine healing. You cultivate an enduring sense of optimism even amidst uncertainty. The Concept of Hope Common perceptions of hope in moments of uncertainty Distinction between traditional hope and slow hope The introduction of 'slow hope'—a sustainable form of optimism Understanding Slow Hope Definition and characteristics of slow hope How slow hope differs from traditional hope Importance and benefits of slow hope in personal growth The Role of Slow Hope in Modern Life Challenges in modern life related to instant gratification and quick fixes The pressure of achieving rapid outcomes How slow hope provides a counterbalance to the fast-paced lifestyle Cultivating Slow Hope Step-by-step guide on how to develop a mindset of slow hope Techniques such as self-reflection, patience cultivation, and mindful progression Importance of breaking down big goals into smaller, manageable steps Embracing Uncertainty and Building Resilience Learning to embrace life's uncertainties through slow hope Building resilience by accepting life's ups and downs How a long-term perspective fosters growth and patience Changing Your Mindset with Slow Hope Shifting focus from immediate outcomes to the process of growth The impact of slow hope on reducing anxiety and stress Enhancing self-esteem and cultivating gratitude for small wins To practice slow hope: 1. Acknowledge where you are. 2. Release pressure for immediate results. 3. Break large goals into manageable steps. 4. Cultivate patience through reflection. 5. Celebrate small wins along the way. This approach reduces anxiety by focusing less on perfectionism or rapid achievements while fostering gratitude for everyday victories. The Power of Patience and Gratitude The crucial role of patience in slow hope Celebrating small victories and maintaining motivation over time Transforming daily life through the practice of gratitude The Quiet Strength of Slow Hope The quiet, persistent nature of slow hope as a force for change Understanding transformation as a journey, not a race Encouragement to embrace slow hope for personal empowerment Conclusion: By incorporating these strategies into everyday life practices consistently overtime will inevitably result increased levels satisfaction derived purely living authentically aligned values held dear personally speaking too importantly so much else besides merely achieving tangible milestones alone… Have you checked out the GYLTG Empowerment Hub on Apple? There's a myth I want to dispel about changing your mindset (or a habit). Most people seem to think that a relapse means total failure (or that something is wrong with you). But that's not true (because it's not how the brain works). Learn why a relapse is a sign of growth (not failure) and how to approach your next mindset or habit relapse - without panicking or beating yourself up over it. Nadège Saysana, known as Nan, is a former English teacher from Paris who turned her personal struggles into a passion for helping others achieve the same kind of transformation she's experienced. She's a certified Life and Weight Loss Coach through The Life Coach School and Corinne Crabtree's No BS Weight Loss University.Nan's journey started with stress-eating, and she gets it. She's been there—feeling like food had a hold on her. But today? She's no longer binge eating or battling cravings. She sticks to her food plan effortlessly—chocolate included (because, yes, she knows life's too short not to enjoy your favorites). At 50, Nan has also accomplished a dream she thought was out of reach—becoming a bodybuilder. She dropped three dress sizes along the way, and she's determined to stay strong, fit, and vibrant for as long as possible, inspired by her 105-year-old grandmother.Over the past five years and a half, Nan has coached around 50 clients a week through The Life Coach School, helping them stop binge eating, overcome cravings, get rid of procrastination and stick to their goals. Her approach is straightforward, compassionate, and grounded in mindset shifts that make real, lasting changes. She's helped clients lose weight, build muscle, reduce inflammation, and take control of their health—and, most importantly, feel proud of who they are around food.Based in Paris, Nan works with English-speaking clients from all over the world, with her adorable cat Eva by her side. Her philosophy is simple: Change doesn't have to be hard. The Secret to Transforming Your Life Starts in Your Mind What if the key to changing your entire life was as simple as shifting your mindset? In this episode, I bring together some of the most brilliant minds—Garrain Jones, Mauricio Umansky, Tom Bilyeu, and Tim Grover—to break down the undeniable power of your thoughts and how they shape your reality. Garrain Jones shares how forgiving those who hurt him, even the men who murdered his father, unlocked an entirely new level of freedom and success in his life. Mauricio Umansky reveals why financial success has nothing to do with wealth itself and everything to do with mindset. Tom Bilyeu exposes the lie that talent is enough and how he went from an "empty dreamer" to building billion-dollar businesses. And Tim Grover, the man who trained legends like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, explains why the obsession to win is what separates the best from everyone else. Each of these incredible minds offers a different perspective, but the message is the same: your mindset controls your reality. Whether it's forgiveness, confidence, discipline, or the hunger to win, mastering your mind is the first step toward transforming your life. Key Takeaways: - Forgiveness is freedom – Letting go of resentment clears space for abundance. - Success doesn't equal happiness – Your mindset determines your joy, not money. - Talent is a myth – Skills and success come from relentless effort, not natural ability. - Winners don't just compete, they dominate – The greatest aren't just good; they win at winning. - Your past doesn't define you – Whether you were broke, doubted, or stuck, your mindset can rewrite your future. At the end of the day, success isn't reserved for the chosen few. It's for those who make the decision to change, who commit to their growth, and who refuse to settle. Your mindset isn't just a part of your journey—it is the journey. So, what are you doing today to start transforming your life? Thank you for watching this video—Please Share it and get the word out! A 30-Day Guide To Changing Your Mindset. In my search for relevant messages on human potential, I have the top publishers send me their lists of new books. In a list from Simon & Schuster I saw, How To Chase Change: 30 Days to Master Your Mindset, and the title alone was worth a look. What I found intrigued me, starting with the author's story. If you see Alexis Fernandez-Prieksa on social media, to me she looks more like an actress or social media starlet than a mindset expert. And that's part of what hooked me. Her personal story of drive I find really interesting. She actually intended to be an actress. But kept coming back to neuroscience and how the brain works, and ultimately got her Masters in neuroanatomy. I think you'll really enjoy the story at the beginning of our talk. But in this new audio book of her's, How To Chase Change, she walks us through 30 concepts, and I found some I'd pondered and never heard anyone give focus to. Such as Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 hours concept. Alexis points out that just putting the time into something doesn't guarantee mastery. Absolutely. And the idea of our limitations. We often hear we're unlimited, we can do and be anything! I disagree, and so does Alexis who gives great research on how our limitations are a benefit. We got into talking about the concept of having an alter ego, which I'd read about but hadn't really dug into. This is one of those conversations where I wasn't quite sure what I'd get, and what I got was some great insight into how to change and upgrade our mind and some big paradigm shifts. How much do your thoughts and words actually influence your health and healing process? Welcome back to the Dr. Kinney show! In this episode, I'm diving into why your mindset plays such a huge role in your health and healing. I see so many patients get stuck in negative thought cycles that seem impossible to break. The truth is, your brain can't tell the difference between what's happening in reality and what's going on in your head. This means that you can actually transform your body just by changing the way you think.Positive energy is real! It has a genuine impact on your body. This goes for how you talk to yourself, and how others speak to you - whether it's a friend, colleague, family member, or partner. Words hold a lot of power. Smart Agency Masterclass with Jason Swenk: Podcast for Digital Marketing Agencies
Are you making a mark in your specific niche? Have you taken the necessary steps to elevate your brand and attract your ideal customers? Our guest today, a seasoned agency owner with fourteen years of experience working with influencers believes these are areas where agencies could learn from influencers, who by heavily focusing on developing their brands can grow to compete with big brands that have historically overshadowed smaller competitors. Tune in to learn more about her agency's approach to influencer marketing and why you should stop being a volunteer at your own agency. Casey Benedict is the CEO and founder of Maverick Mindshare, an influencer marketing agency with over 14 years of experience in the industry. Casey shares insights on working with influencers, emphasizing the importance of expertise, processes, safeguards, and quality assurance; she also talks about learning to delegate and the importance of finding your zone of genius and staying in that lane as a way for owners to always stay in touch with the parts of the business they most enjoy. In this episode, we'll discuss: Using influencer collaborations to grow your agency. What agencies can learn from influencers. Changing your mindset from volunteer to visionary. Being the Bridge for Brands and Influencer Marketing Casey's journey into the world of influencer marketing began with her own experience as a home baker and blogger. She was inspired by the community of food bloggers and the potential for brands to leverage their influence. This experience led her to a blogger retreat, where she observed the challenges faced by bloggers and PR agents in collaborating effectively. It also sparked the idea of becoming the bridge between bloggers and brands — and her agency was born. Through her agency, Casey has successfully facilitated mutually beneficial connections between influencers and brands, prioritizing the quality and authenticity of influencer campaigns. In today's landscape, numerous influencers are rivaling major brands, such as Mr. Beast's Feastables competing with Hershey's and Logan Paul's immensely popular energy drink. This presents a compelling opportunity for agency owners to tap into, enabling them to compete with the largest global agencies by elevating their brand. Combining Agency Processes with the Human Elements of Influencer Marketing Casey's agency has been working with influencers for over 14 years and she disagrees with the common perception that influencers can be difficult to work with. Although she acknowledges this is likely due to her agency's expertise and attention to processes. She attributes this perception to the fact that influencers are human beings, with their unique personalities and perspectives. In traditional marketing, the focus is often on digital media buys or static content, whereas influencer marketing involves collaborating with real people who have the power to engage audiences authentically. This human element introduces a level of unpredictability and risk, but Casey believes that with the right processes and safeguards in place, these challenges can be mitigated. How Clarity Plays a Role in Marketing Your Agency Over the past fifteen years, influencers have shown us that by being authentic and true to themselves, they can compete against major corporations and make a significant impact in the industry. Likewise, it is crucial for agencies to elevate their brand and stand out boldly to compete against the biggest companies in the world. Understanding your brand thoroughly can be a time-consuming process, but by defining core values and target audience, you can establish a strong foundation and set a clear direction for you and your team. This clarity not only guides your decision-making process but also helps you connect with your audience on a deeper level. Agency owners often dedicate most of their time to helping their clients and overlook the need to focus on their own business. Casey has also faced this challenge, but she recognizes the importance of building a brand that resonates with people. Imposter syndrome, self-doubt, or fear of judgment are just some of the reasons holding agency owners back when it comes to sharing their thoughts and ideas with the world. Despite the plethora of opinions on social media about how to build a brand, putting yourself out there requires courage, vulnerability, and a willingness to take risks. Overcoming these barriers demands starting small, embracing unique strengths, and gradually expanding their presence, enabling agency owners to overcome their fears and establish themselves as confident thought leaders in their industry. Changing Your Mindset from Volunteer to Visionary At one point in her agency's growth, Casey had to ask herself if she wanted to be a non-profit or a CEO, based on the tasks she was taking on. Her day-to-day was filled with things she should've been delegating and it felt like she was doing volunteer work for her agency, rather than stepping into the role of a CEO. It is crucial to prioritize tasks that hold greater value and impact for your agency, rather than becoming entangled in smaller, less significant tasks that could be assigned to others. If you find yourself falling into this pattern, categorize tasks as $10, $100, or $1000 tasks to swiftly identify and prioritize those that will significantly impact your agency's growth and success. By delegating, you can entrust tasks to someone who will approach them with a level of enthusiasm that you may not possess, yielding superior results. Doing $10 tasks may create a sense of productivity, but once you really look into it, you can pay someone to take care of that giving yourself time to tackle the bigger tasks. It's about building your agency around your life, your values, and the things you want to do. This way, you build a stronger organization and attract more of the right people. Likewise, agency owners may feel unprepared to invest in growth, but according to Casey, it is essential to adopt the mindset that your agency is equipped to handle expanded business and growth. Taking the necessary steps to support this growth, whether by hiring additional team members, investing in marketing, or expanding services, is crucial for sustained success. What Do You Do Best? Staying True to Your Strengths Part of getting to a point where you're effectively delegating tasks across your team is embracing diversity in team dynamics. As an agency owner, it's important to recognize that not everyone will approach tasks the same way you do, and that's perfectly fine. Embracing a team with diverse skills, personalities, and working styles is essential for the success of any organization. This diversity can lead to increased efficiency, creativity, and overall success. Realizing this took the animus out of team differences for Casey, as she was able to embrace diversity in team dynamics and understand each team member's strengths and weaknesses. By recognizing what each individual excels at and what they may struggle with, agency owners can delegate tasks more effectively. Casey encourages agency owners to find what they do best and let that guide them. There'll be many voices wanting to tell you what's best, which KPIs to follow, and what to focus on so make sure you touch base with that zone of genius as much as you can. There was a point in time when I was set on meeting my future husband “organically.” I had this dream that I would meet him through friends, mutual friends, or doing something I love. I didn't want my story to be "we met online." With diving into my relationship with Jesus, working on myself, and truly wanting to be with a quality guy, I started to change my mindset around online dating. My mantra became it doesn't matter how I meet my husband, it's who he is. With this shift I was able to go into online dating with a new perspective and trust that God can use any situation for me to meet my husband. Dating online isn't easy, but with the help of my dating coach I was able to put parameters around online dating to make it not so overwhelming and discouraging for me. I have complied those tips into a free guide for you to use yourself. It's called "Do's and Don'ts of Online Dating." If you would like this free guide, click here! In this episode, Kallie, Caitlin, Charlotte, and Megan share a conversation about their personal experiences with aging and motherhood. They chat about some of the experiences they've had in “feeling” older. Some of the topics include physical aging and how your body feels different and adjusting to that, creaky knees, chin hairs, and recovering from a night out. They discuss how your pre-kid life is in the past, being nostalgic about these fun experiences we had in our 20's, and mourning that even though there are still a lot of great seasons of life ahead of us. They talk about what it is like when you know you're done having kids and that part of your life is over and how that coincides with a lot of changes physically to our body. They mention the shift when you go from a season of life with small kids when that's a very huge part of your identity and how that shift occurs once your kids become more independent from you. They also talk about turning milestone ages like 40 and 50 and how those feel. They address the anxieties that come with aging, like noticing new physical changes and worrying about the future. This episode offers a heartfelt but funny and relatable discussion on navigating the complexities of aging, health, and motherhood. 00:40 WELCOME BACK 09:50 AUDIENCE QUESTIONS 16:49 TOPIC: AGING 30:02 HEALTH SEGMENT - SUNSCREEN 34:20 PITS AND PEAKS 45:40 CLOSING REMARKS This episode is sponsored by Yale New Haven Health, offering a truly comprehensive approach to healthcare aimed at meeting the needs of local families. EP104: The impact of changing your mindset - Gen's Journey as a coaching client I am really excited to share this with you Warrior Tribe and hope you find it helpful. My special guest today is Gen who recently completed a 12 week coaching program with me and was happy to share her experience with you all. We dive into the challenges that Gen had faced which like so many of us involved years of struggling with being overweight and dieting. When Gen and I began speaking her goals were clear however her habits, reliance on motivation and past experience created a difficult environment for the ultimate objective to be reached. This episode is important for me to share because I feel there are so many people who listen to the show and experience the same struggle as Gen explains, not making any meaningful changes between attempts, hoping for a different outcome and having to manage the feeling of failure when things don't work out. I say that with compassion as someone who spent years going through the same cycle until learning the benefits of focusing on mindset. Gen shares how coaching has allowed her to approach weight loss from a different angle, focusing on the behaviours and thinking in a different way with regards to being on a diet. We talk about how there is so much emphasis and pressure attached to whether the scale goes up or down, placing our judgement and self worth on this single factor whereas the truth is there is so much more you can measure in order to be successful. One key difference is that Gen now lives with a level of confidence and self-esteem that has increased dramatically since we began working together. You can hear in her voice that there is no longer the fear to experience social events or dinners out like before, and her excitement for the journey she on can offer encouragement to anyone else wanting the same. As mentioned on the episode, I am offering a completely free coaching session to all listeners who are curious to find out if having a mentor may will help. I have found this is a great way for you as a potential client to see if this is a good fit for you, as well as the opportunity for me to demonstrate the deep power and impact coaching can have. “The victim mindset dilutes the human potential. By not accepting personal responsibility for our circumstances, we greatly reduce our power to change them.” – Steve Maraboli . I all too often hear my clients say things like, “I have no choice with X situation, so I just put my head down and keep working.” This always makes me pause because I have learned that we always have a choice, yet sometimes it may feel like we are victims of our circumstances or situations. The choices before us may not be easy to see, understand, or navigate, but there is always a choice because we are in control of our own lives, businesses, or careers. My guest this week is back for a second time, and we are going to explore the notion of how to move from victim to victor. In today's solo episode, we talk about growing up as the bigger friend and the universal experiences we went through as a result. But before we dive in, we have to fill you in on a few things. Big steps were taken as Gabe met Raeann's parents for the first time! There might have been a little chaotic family energy but we realized every family has a little crazy in them. Speaking of, how often do you talk to your parents?? Kristina's trip to elusive Sarasota finally left the group chat. We also chat about the financial pressure of over-the-top bachelorette parties and similarly, the slippery slope over birthday dinners when the check comes. And of course, in pop culture news, Nick Viall's reality recap podcast enlightens us with a male perspective about constantly critiquing your partner and the debate over proactive couple's therapy. If you've ever felt the anxiety that comes with writing down your extra-large t-shirt size in a room full of size smalls, this is for you. Being the big girl in the friend group or growing up as the bigger girl, we have had to endure many experiences that take a hit to our self-esteem. The defeating experience of prom dress shopping, not being able to share clothes with friends, and the feeling that no boys like you, were just some of the fun things we had to go through as the bigger friend. Raeann and Kristina also open up about how their families affected their body confidence, both the good and the bad. As we work through our past traumas, we learn to change our mindset and how we should talk to ourselves. This change in mindset was largely due to the body-positive movement in the media and seeing others embrace self-love at any size. Hype yourself up and fake it till you make it because you ARE hot! Michelle Ogden is the founder of Ogden Wealth, an RIA based out of Florida that oversees $50 million in assets under management for 120 households. Unique in her approach, Michelle chose a cautious and deliberate path for her business growth, avoiding rapid expansion and minimal staff reliance for over a decade. This strategy, however, led to a pivotal moment where the business's success depended entirely on her, prompting her to partner with a TAMP and subsequently more than double her business by focusing on her core strengths. Listen in as Michelle shares her initial reluctance to enter the financial industry, the pivotal moments that led her to establish her own thriving RIA, and how strategic partnerships with third-party platforms catalyzed significant growth at her firm. In this episode: changing your mindset, starting FI at 50, the pros and cons of starting late, and facing your faults. We always say on this show that FI is for everyone, but our guests Becky Heptig and Bill Yount really embody this message. As hosts of the "Catching Up to FI" podcast, Becky and Bill are a fantastic resource for those who have found FI later in life and still would like to give it a go despite the delayed start! While FI looks different for everyone and can be influenced by when you start, we agree with Bill and Becky in saying becoming intentional with your finances is always a positive decision, no matter when you do it in life. Although your path may look different from those who started earlier, you would still be taking steps to better your life inside and around your finances. Perfection isn't the goal, improvement is what we strive for, and a positive step is still a step in the right direction!
