With Sean everybody's complaining no one knows how to get reviews without violating TOS time it's all come to a head recently when you know Amazon releases new functionality with reviews everybody's kind of scrambling around still from the years and years in which we were able to kind of manipulate the system in terms of service but what they've been proven to us to do for our business you know when you're going to new product you don't have any reviews and you just don't have a solution or you're trying to reinvigorate a product that had an issue or two I'm sometimes it's tough so when we getting into all the nitty-gritty details of how to really explode your business finance on with review Sean what do you say yeah reviews are Paramount when it comes to growing a successful Amazon business and you know unfortunately Seth you and I had to learn that the hard way so if you remember back when we were explicitly testing the impact of different star ratings and reviews would have on her conversion and sales the results blew us away if you'll remember right are Amazon sales more than doubled in just three days from the simple idea when they come to reviews we've experienced Dubliner cell when we went from a 4-star which is pretty decent review rating to a simple 4 and 1/2 we were able to double our sales going from $14,600 in change to over $30,000 in just three days ridiculous yeah Sean some of the stuff that kind of popped out there is if you just think about going from 4 stars to 4 and 1/2 * you actually don't have to travel that far because Amazon grounding system so we you could be sitting on a 4.2 star rating and everybody views you as a 4-star listening because it rounds down at 4.2 but if you got one more review where you were on the threshold to go to 4.3 4.3 rounds up to 4.5 and that's exactly what we talk about when we went from about $14,000 in sales to $30,000 in sales in three days or that paste know we were selling I'm on a monthly basis as well but that wax review the incremental review that took us from getting 4.2 to 4.3 was worth a ton of money to us so if you just think about how I can apply to your business then you know how important they are so let's talk about you know where we are now and where we been so you guys have been in the game for a while no that years ago you could easily get reviews you can go out there and sign up for numerous different platforms that would have list and list of people that would come back and leave you review and you give him a free product he might even be able to incentivize them and give them a little extra cash and it was really easy but the right when the last time you were able to legally put into us go out there paste 4 review it's it's not it's not the same as it was I guess this is the point and just you know speaking through that scenario that you just talked about where our sales doubled you know if you are in a situation in a particular Niche where most of the star ratings are in a rain in most markets are niches on Amazon go out there and do a search for your product your products tillstrom and look at all the listings that are showing up on page what you're probably going to see you know a lot of listings at 4 and 1/2 stars or 4 stars or if you're in a really tough Market you might even see some listings in there were three and a half.

The Amazon TOS updates on emails mean a change in emailing habits to avoid being suspended. Listen to Henson Wu on how Feedback Whiz can help. Henson Wu co-founder and CEO of Feedback Whiz, which helps manage and enhance the brand reputation for Amazon sellers, through email automation and monitoring.  USA “Your account has been temporarily restricted from seeing messages”  - anything from 72 hours to 30 days.  So you can't proactively message buyers you can respond to inbound messages. A lot of people have been sending coupons codes etc via buyer-seller messaging with the Amazon TOS updates on emails. Now there is a lot of news about Amazon's practices. So Amazon is now trying to enforce TOS. Amazon has sent out emails saying “can't use links” etc - conflicting messages.  They actually sent out a message saying there is confusion and there is no big TOS change. It's about enforcing existing TOS.  However, there is a NEW change: you can only send out 1 review request email per product sale per order.  Common TOS mistakes About 10-15 % of sellers are violating something in the TOS. Just ask for a review - don't tie in with if/then statements.  No incentivised reviews.  Avoid keywords like “good experience” or “positive experience” Or any words like “Bad experience”  Staying safe If you have a review request link, you need to leave out any “suggestive” language.  No conditions, keep it short with the new Amazon TOS updates on emails. Feedbackwhiz has the ready-made template made by Amazon.  New algorithm They are now programmatically suspending sellers. No huge danger If they flag your account, you don't need to worry about account suspension.  Sellers get this shut down for 30 days.  If you don't fix it, they get the campaigns shut down for another 30 days.  This could however change! Feedbackwhiz blog article about this - direct you to Amazon TOS (7 different pages)  The language is very vague! The team at Amazon Direct communication with Henson.  Making it clear that email automation IS still okay.  And requesting reviews as such IS okay.  “Review request button” What is the review request button? About mid-November 2019, Amazon launched it inside the orders page   - automated review requests.  Amazon will automatically send out a generic email to the customer.  What does it do? Probably because in the TOS update, buyers don't understand what to write.  Amazon wants to make it simple for sellers. It's a convenience.  Drawbacks Everyone gets the same generic email from Amazon.  Five stars unfulfilled, name of the product, simple  Many people selling on Amazon have been sending out feedback requests - most people don't respond.  Does it lead to a better conversion rate? NO: No subject line You can't customise the subject line When you get the same exact email, buyers stop even opening them.  A lot of sellers are excited about it.  When to us it? when not? Welcome To Episode #125 of the Amazon FBA Private Label Show Podcast! In this episode I share my opinions and thoughts on some of the recent Amazon seller account suspensions and the use of Amazon launch services.  Listen to this Amazon FBA Podcast! [powerpress] My Thoughts on the Amazon Account Suspensions and Launch Services - EP125 Recently you may have heard of some reports going around about sellers getting their Amazon accounts suspended by Amazon. It appears that some of these violations were from rank manipulation from the use of Amazon launch services. In this podcast I share my thoughts and opinions on the subject and I also share my advice on launching products on Amazon in the current climate.  WHAT I THINK: I think Amazon is looking to detect larger scale manipulation and sometimes smaller sellers get caught up in the web. I would however make sure you aren't doing anything at scale to show up on Amazon's radar. If your product has tons of deeply discounted sales attached to it now I think that sends up red flags to Amazon. It's best if things appear natural to Amazon so suddenly getting 100 reviews on a brand new product may not look natural to Amazon and could lead to issues with your ASIN and account.  If you are using an Amazon launch service and are still having great results with getting your product rank then proceed with caution going forward. Ultimately just be safe so you can protect your account from any issues.  IF YOU WANT TO USE AMAZON LAUNCH SERVICES:  Contact the site or service and ask them about their process for launching products Who are their buyers? How do they distribute your links? How do they distribute your codes? If the Amazon launch service says they are within Amazon TOS then take that with a grain of salt.  They may have been compliant in the past but not anymore as Amazon changes their system and guidelines.  Try to avoid launching to professional freebie deal seekers. Ultimately you are responsible for your account activity  MY ADVICE:  I think the best route forward for any Amazon seller is to build your own audience that you can launch product to. That way you control everything and you are building a real asset that you can keep using again and again.  You should either be building your own e-mail list or ManyChat list. On Podcast EP 191, host Manny Coats talks about how the recent Amazon TOS relate to reviews and even answers a few personal questions! A few weeks ago, we talked about sneaky ways to gain Amazon reviews that may get you banned so you know which tactics to AVOID. If you missed that episode, check it out here. Since then, a lot of you have asked for clarification on Amazon’s TOS surrounding reviews and email follow-up so you can gain reviews fast without getting your account banned. So what’s Amazon’s stance on reviews nowadays? “After an order is completed, Amazon automatically sends an email to buyers asking them to leave a review and provide feedback. Additionally, you are allowed to send 1 email per order to request a customer review.” If you send out more than 1 email to elicit a customer review, it may be time to reconsider your email follow up strategy and change it to be more compliant with the current verbiage in Amazon’s Customer review guidelines. “If you decide to ask a buyer to provide a customer review, you cannot ask only for a positive review, nor can you request reviews solely from buyers who have had a positive experience.” If you use tricky wording to segment your customers into reviews and customer feedback, it’s important to note that you’re blatantly violating Amazon’s TOS. You also cannot contact Amazon customers and request that they remove a review. Maybe you’re asking yourself, “but what if I solve their problem or send them a replacement following a negative review?” If you do so, you STILL cannot follow back up to ask them to change their review.
