Today I'm thrilled to introduce you to a very special guest: mother, wife, whistleblower, school teacher of neurodevelopmental, severely autistic and non-verbal children, and a woman who is quite literally giving a voice to the voiceless: CaseyCasey's story is unlike anything else you've heard on ‘The Imagination' and I'm so inspired by her courage to come talk about some amazing revelations she's discovered in her work with neurodevelopmental children. The story you are about to hear today begins a few years back when her whole life changed. A woman of faith, Casey found her passion serving God through taking care of children who considered ‘injured' - such as severely autistic and minimally verbal and non-verbal kids and young adults who need care and support for the rest of their lives. What she discovered by a miracle from God was that these kids and young adults she has been serving actually aren't voiceless at all despite being labeled as non-verbal. In fact  - these children that are labeled as ‘injured' and are looked down on in society actually possess quite incredible spiritual gifts and sophisticated methods of communication that Casey discovered by accident through pursuing an unrelenting journey of caring to get to know these children she works with the same passion that she serves God with. Casey's story gives a new meaning to the nomenclature associated with children who are commonly referred to as ‘special' in the education systems. Among the amazing revelations you are about to hear today about this underestimated demographic of children and young adults, Casey is also going to discuss why and how these children are being injured in the first place and things we need to consider - as a society - if we are going to be inclusive of the fact that EVERY child's life matters. As Casey states: There are a growing number of children that are being harmed by systems of power - intentionally and brutally changing many of these children's lives for the worse. So many families need help and there are so few people helping. There are even fewer people willing to acknowledge the spiritual side of autism. And this is why Casey is here. She isn't speaking on behalf of herself, but on behalf of a growing number of children and young adults who are losing their physical voices in droves due to a broken system that seeks to exploit and profit off of children and parents and abandons them after they have been broken. Casey's story today leads us into discovering an intelligent network of communication happening right beneath our noses by children written off as ‘injured' and ‘disabled' and that these voices are in indeed ‘special' and deserve our eyes, ears and heart just as much as every other abuse survivor does. And after getting to know Casey, I couldn't think of a better person to speak on behalf of this growing group of unrepresented children who are not added into the ‘save the children' conversation. The first in a new project on The Innovation Show. Hire For Neurosignature, Train for Skill: The Brain is Like a Waterbed "Autists are not just square pegs in the round hole of society. The real problem isn't the challenge of fitting them in, it's that in trying to do so we risk destroying their unique shape." — Paul Collins  The parents of an autistic young man approached a local convenience store, hoping to secure a job for their son. The retail chain manager, hesitant due to his team's lack of experience with special needs, said he would give the kid a chance. On his inaugural day, the manager tasked the young man with organizing food items by their expiration dates on a single shelf. He figured it would take him at least the whole day. To the manager's astonishment, the young man had meticulously arranged every shelf in the store in just three hours.  This young man, perceived as disabled, viewed sorting produce by date as a delightful puzzle. His neurodiversity brought joy to the task and put him in a flow state. But the story doesn't end there.  Harnessing the youngster's unique ability, the retailer employed him to travel between stores, solving his 'puzzles' and sorting food items. This valuable skill saved the retailer a significant amount of wastage and helped them to achieve their sustainability goals. Today, this young man earns so much that his father left his previous job to chauffeur his son (who cannot drive) around the country, solving puzzles for the retail chain.  “We all have a calling. Each one of us has a role to play on this planet. When we play the instrument that is meant for us in the orchestra of life, we will be in a constant state of bliss” - Joe Vitale  The moral of the story? Everyone has a unique place if the world gives them a chance. Unfortunately, a story like this is scarce. The unfortunate reality was recognised best by one of the great geniuses of our times, Albert Einstein, who said, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by Its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid”. Because the work system is set up for efficiency, it caters for the majority. It is a drain on resources to cater to everyone. It is even more challenging to interview "everyone", so we hire for homogeneity. And somewhat understandably, as human resources, people officers and hiring executives are already stretched to the maximum. Companies are dealing with a tumultuous business environment. They are preoccupied with quenching multiple fires: AI, digitalisation, remote work, supply chain volatility, business model shifts, data, GDPR, inflation, housing crises, pandemics and even wars. The modern workplace is structured like a fine-cut diamond—rigid, linear, and sparkling with hierarchy. This construct, drawn from centuries of church and military organisation, may bring a semblance of order, but it simultaneously smothers the potential of those who don't fit the mould.  Neurodiverse individuals can struggle in these traditional environments. Executives often overlook them (or ignore them outright) due to their distinctive ways of processing information, unique patterns of thought and behaviour, and distinctive communication styles. To ensure that these square pegs aren't shoehorned into round holes, we need to rethink the design of our workplaces. We must build environments that foster neurodiversity rather than suppress it. The modern workplace is more like a network of networks, teams of teams, nuanced and complex. The brain works similarly; the brain is more about connection than calculation. Understanding this can help executives update the workplace. Imagine a world where everyone got to use their talents and didn't have to shore up their weaknesses and, in many cases, disguise those weaknesses. That is the focus of this week's Thursday Thought. https://astralcodexten.substack.com/p/blindness-schizophrenia-and-autism   Some weird psychiatric trivia: no congenitally blind person ever gets schizophrenia (journal article, popular article). “Trivia” is exactly the right word for this fact; it's undeniably interesting, but what do you do with it? So far nobody has done anything, other than remark “hmm, that's funny”. I was thinking about this recently in the context of the diametrical model of autism vs. schizophrenia. This is itself pretty close to psychiatric trivia - a lot of features of schizophrenia and autism seem to be opposites of each other. As I put it here: Many of the genes that increase risk of autism decrease risk of schizophrenia, and vice versa. Autists have a smaller-than-normal corpus callosum; schizophrenics have a larger-than-normal one. Schizophrenics smoke so often that some researchers believe they have some kind of nicotine deficiency; autists have unusually low smoking rates. Schizophrenics are more susceptible to the rubber hand illusion and have weaker self-other boundaries in general; autists seem less susceptible and have stronger self-other boundaries. Autists can be pathologically rational but tend to be uncreative; schizophrenics can be pathologically creative but tend to be irrational. The list goes on.

June 21, 2020. Happy Father's Day in the US! Father's are very special to a child's development. For our unique Autists, dads play a vital role and especially so in the adult years. Listen in on my conversation with Sammie's dad and Daniel's dad. They love their children and ride the ups and downs of parenting and caring for these high vibrational beings. For Sammie and I, we could not do what we do without her dad. Daniel, too, has a very special relationship with his spiritual dad who cares for him 24 hours a day. Today, we honor all dads but acknowledge the strength that these unique dad's exhibit. Honesty, courage, commitment, and love exude from these dads. You'll be inspired.This special Father's Day happens to fall on a solar eclipse. And it's no accident that this angelic being came through for this particular Father's Day. The image attached is of an angel that felt very much like a divine masculine presence. This energetic presence signals the return of the true divine masculine that is part of our avatar light body. The aggressive, conquering masculine that has permeated the planet is not representative of the Holy Father. Consequently, this Father's Day is indeed a very special day. We will watch how the world transforms from this Divine Masculine presence on the earth. There has been much about the Divine Feminine in the last twenty years or so but humanity is also sorely in need of the Divine Masculine. May the relationship of father and children transform to support our evolution.Love and honor to all you father's out there doing the best you can.

This is a special episode for the U.S. Mother’s Day celebrated on May 10, 2020. It is dedicated to all mothers, but especially those on this journey raising Autist souls. It has not been an easy journey but is enriched when we meet other moms in a similar situation. I felt healed within when I met these moms and began talking to them. In 2018, we had ventured into starting an online support group, Supporting Autism Consciousness Evolution (SACE) but got sidetracked as life took each of us in different directions at different times. Our conversations while planning our meetings were so valuable and enriching so for this Mother’s Day, we came together to share our stories. Consent and Consensus; do these words make you cringe? These days, it seems we are asked for our consent for just about everything. If we want to use an app, software, social media platform, contracts, agreements with schools, etc... we're asked for our consent. It implies we understand that we're giving permission for some action to be done to us or to engage in activities on a platform and much more. It says that both parties are agreeing to some type of exchange for something and that we understand the terms and risks. However, these agreements at subtle levels can be very confusing because there are other agendas buried in these consent agreements. Even in consensus agreements when others come together to make decisions for another or for a group, there's this feeling that someone may lose out in the decision. This is common in policy making - or seems anyway. Complex systems and language have been created so that it has become a confusing process to just "consent" to something. But in this world of bi-wave or distorted polarity systems we exist in, it feels just about impossible to engage in pure untainted systems and agreements.This is a complex topic. In this episode, one of our Autists, Lucy, takes us back to the nuts and bolts of what it means to consent from our core intentions and the energetic matrices that we are creating in these "consent agreements" and when we're co-creating for consensus. She showed me a visual using the Tri-wave Infinity symbol to add a third principle, Abundance and Flourish, to the intentions of our exchanges because in consenting and coming together for consensus, there are energetic chords being created which connects you to that other entity, institution, structure... It may seem as though 'abundance' and 'flourish' are implied but by actually being conscious of it, we can truly begin to manifest based on the tri-wave.The Autists are showing us a different perspective of moving from a bi-wave system of polarity to a tri-wave system of balance. Time from a third dimensional perspective seems pretty straight forward. We’re taught in elementary school how to tell time. We’re taught that it is a way of dividing up our day into hours, minutes, seconds, our days into weeks, months, and years. It can seem useful to have a collective reference point to mark seasons and cycles. In this third dimensional experience, however, it has come to feel restrictive and that we have become slaves to time. As adults we come to experience time in different ways which is more about our experience of moments. In these states, there are periods in our life when time seems to be going excruciatingly slow or other periods when it seems to be racing by. As we awaken to our Soul nature of being, many of us are experiencing time very differently. From a multidimensional perspective, the Autists share that time is connected to the experience of manifesting, and the higher the dimension where frequencies vibrate very quickly, the “faster” the manifestation. They also say that we activate time in a sense when the soul engages the dimensionalized system. Those of us experiencing the deep changes underway are also finding that our inner experience of moment to moment is not feeling so comfortable having to navigate this world based on time which dictates where we have to be and when. The spiritually awakening human can get to a point in their awakening that time does not exist and that time is an illusion. This perhaps is true from a “higher perspective” but it is also not helpful in navigating our world by simply stating it does not exist. In this episode, the Autists, and specifically a young man I’ll just call Carlos, shares a perspective to look at our lives as an Alpha&Omega cycle which is more in alignment as a soul being. Listen in and feel what arises in you.

Compassion is a concept or energetic principle that we acknowledge to be of the heart which connects us to one another. It gives us the ability to feel the experience of another usually when one is in suffering or pain. It is the seed of empathy and an expression of Love. In this episode, the Autists of the 7 Higher Heavens, and particularly one young autist boy, Bakti Roma (as he calls himself to me) transmits a beautiful message about what compassion is from the perspective of the Human Avatar template. There are chords as in tones of sound, but also cords as in energetic ropes or threads which connect us to the Source Creator to experience what we as expressions of the Creator experience. The image accompanying with this message is Sammie’s hands. It is part of the energy work I was guided to do on her to open channels so that she can continue to stream in the information coming through from the 7 higher heavens. The open hands denote the service that she and this collective are here to do. Sammie’s Treasures: Episode 1Step into an interdimensional field that Sammie, the Autist Collective of the 7 higher heavens, and I co-created. One interesting thing I took from Evolutionary Psychopathology was a better understanding of the diametrical theory of the social brain. There’s been a lot of discussion over whether schizophrenia is somehow the “opposite” of autism. Many of the genes that increase risk of autism decrease risk of schizophrenia, and vice versa. Autists have a smaller-than-normal corpus callosum; schizophrenics have a larger-than-normal one. Schizophrenics smoke so often that some researchers believe they have some kind of nicotine deficiency; autists have unusually low smoking rates. Schizophrenics are more susceptible to the rubber hand illusion and have weaker self-other boundaries in general; autists seem less susceptible and have stronger self-other boundaries. Autists can be pathologically rational but tend to be uncreative; schizophrenics can be pathologically creative but tend to be irrational. The list goes on. I’ve previously been skeptical of this kind of thinking because there are many things that autists and schizophrenics have in common, many autistics who seem a bit schizophrenic, many schizophrenics who seem a bit autistic, and many risk factors shared by both conditions. But Del Giudice, building on work by Badcock and Crespipresents the “diametrical model”: schizophrenia and autism are the failure modes of opposing sides of a spectrum from high functioning schizotypy to high functioning autism, ie from overly mentalistic cognition to overly mechanistic cognition. Schizotypy is a combination of traits that psychologists have discovered often go together. It’s classified as a personality disorder in the DSM. But don’t get too caught up on that term – it’s a disorder in the same sense as narcissistic or antisocial tendencies, and like those conditions, some schizotypals do very well for themselves. Classic schizotypal traits include tendency toward superstition, disorganized communication, and nonconformity (if it sounds kind of like “schizophrenia lite”, that’s not really a coincidence).

Autists assemble!

The aim of this paper is to provide some concrete guidelines for understanding and measuring the well-being of individuals affected by autism. I discuss the use of psychometric tests to understand and measure the well-being of autists. There is an astounding lack of both empirical and philosophical research on well-being for individuals with autism. Certainly, the heterogeneity of this population makes it difficult to say something univocal. This, however, is not enough of a reason not to try to make at least some progress in this area. The ultimate aim of this paper is to provide some concrete guidelines for understanding and measuring the well-being of individuals affected by autism. This will be accomplished in large part by considering the applicability to individuals affected by autism of psychometric tools such as the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) and other affective measures of well-being currently applied to normal populations. This task will in turn take us into a quick discussion of the philosophical significance and general limitations of these psychometric tools, and a more detailed discussion of the specific limitations that arise when these tools are applied to autistic populations. As part of the latter discussion, I examine a number of classes of cases, going from the class of individuals on the spectrum that are similar in many key respects to individuals outside the spectrum, to the class of individuals on the spectrum that are not able to understand and-or answer any of the questions involved by these tools. I conclude with a discussion of how to understand and measure the well-being of individuals in the latter class.

Autism is quite extreme: affected people shrink into theirselfs, live complicated rituals and have trouble understanding emotions. But out of autism can arise a real wonder: the savant syndrome, showing the real possibilities of the brain.
