Christine Lakin is a Director, Actor, Producer and a Choregrapher. Christine is probably best known for her role as “Al” in the 90's sit-com Step By Step. More recently, she was one of three Hollywood Darlings on the Pop Network alongside Jodie Sweetin (Fuller House) and Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven). These three women produced the highly improvised comedy loosely based on their real lives and friendship. Christine has also appeared in dozens of films and TV shows such as Modern Family, The Rookie, Station 19, American Housewife, Mothers Day, CSI, The League, Melissa and Joey, Valentines Day, Veronica Mars and You Again. She's voiced multiple roles on FOX's Family Guy, Cartoon Network's Clarence and is known as Jane from The Walking Dead game, Seasons 1 and 2. She is the voice behind PeeBee in EA's Mass Effect: Andromeda. She also narrates numerous audio book  - in fact over 150, including the best selling Bosch/Ballard detective series by Michael Connelly, in which she voiced Renee Ballard. Christine has also performed in several acclaimed theater productions, notably as Clarice Starling in the cult-hit Silence, The Musical LADCC award and dozens with LA favorite, The Troubadour Theater Company. Christine Lakin was the first child star I met as an adult. Like a lot of kids of the 90's, I spent every Friday watching ABC's TGIF lineup including Step By Step, the show that launched her career. When we first met about 15 years ago, I remember being surprised by how NOT crazy she was (and is). Christine is instantly likable and self-aware. She knows what you think of child stars, and she's happy to help you get over it. In her new show, Hollywood Darlings, she teams up with Jodie Sweetin (Full/Fuller House), and Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven) to both mock and celebrate this season of their lives. One of the best parts of my podcasting experience so far has been bonding with other moms over their birth story. It's like veterans coming back from the war and swapping battle stories. Each one is unique, hard-fought and nostalgic for mothers. So when my new friend (I can call her that right?) Christine Lakin stopped by I was so honored that she shared such a personal moment in her life.                   Her daughter Georgia just turned one (today as a matter of fact!) and she was deep in party planning mode when we had this interview. She told me the surprising ways becoming a mom has changed her outlook on this industry and her career. Christine has been a star since she was a kid and I immediately felt like I was talking to an old friend. Her birth story is raw, relatable and moving. Honestly it made me cry which I wasn't expecting. A wonderful side effect of being a mom now is that I cry at the drop of a hat. Good times.   She's grown up in the business and continues to work to this day. Most people would recognize her from her breakout role as "Al" in the 90's sitcom Step by Step. She's also been on a slew of TV shows like 7th Heaven, Veronica Mars and even created her own docu-series Lovin Lakin. And now she's jumped into an exciting new project with fellow 90's TV stars Jodie Sweetin and Beverley Mitchell called Hollywood Darlings. She says the show is a somewhat exaggerated version of their real lives as friends. It's lightly scripted and some of the situations are based on things that have really happened to them. You can expect to see some of your favorite TV stars from the 90's to make appearances as well. Yay cameos! She explains how the show came about and how each of them fill their own natural archetypes that will be fun for viewers to watch. Personally I'm pumped to see it for several reasons. First, I'm a fan of all of these women. Second, they're all executive producing it because they wanted to be in the drivers' seat of their career. Woo hoo lady power! And third, it just looks freakin' funny. Watch the preview below and you'll see what I mean. I'm a fan of anything that skewers Hollywood and the ridiculous world we all live in. Episode 217 of 7th Heaven has the Camdens dealing with grief once more. Brenda Hampton introduces a character into Lucy's life simply to take said character away within the first twenty minutes of the episode. Erin and Tanvee ponder whether or not this episode really was the best way to incorporate Beverley Mitchell's real life experience of losing a friend into the show.

Crow-tober gets slightly better as Ivan, Michael and Katie the Undertaker indulge in the 1996 sequel, The Crow: City of Angels. Starring Vincent Parez, Mia Kirshner, Beverley Mitchell, Thuy Trang: The Yellow Ranger, Thomas Jane: The Punisher, and Iggy Pop as Ricardo Montalban.
