1988's The Blob is one of the better remakes in the annals of horror filmdom. We enjoyed talking about this movie with our friend Garret.

Beware of The Blob, it creeps And leaps and glides and slides Across the floor Right through the door And all around the wall A splotch, a blotch Be careful of The Blob! So warns the theme song to the 1958 original film, The Blob, starring Steve McQueen...and the same can be said of the 1988 remake starring Shawnee Smith and Kevin Dillon. Tonight, we're going to be taking a look at both films where terror has no shape! Listen in and find out what we thought!
Digital and graphic designer Catalina Olvera has not only seen Saw once, but she's also gone back to it time and time again, having been fascinated with it since age 8. A big fan of true crime stories, she explains why the first Saw holds up. Sure, designers will appreciate Jigsaw's crafty "measure twice and cut once" methodology, but it's the story and set pieces that leave an impression. In addition to Saw, we also discuss Saw X and Shawnee Smith who portrays Amanda, aka Mandy, plus we get into 2024's Longlegs and 2022's Smile, as well as Guillermo del Toro. We conclude with a discussion about the movie-watching experience, theaters or streaming and the right time for each, and why trailers should be avoided due to their very spoilery content.

Okay, for real this time, the story of Saw III has reached its conclusion…three movies later. Mark Hoffman continues the legacy of John Kramer by putting the insurance agent who wronged him through a bloody game of choice. Meanwhile, a nosey reporter tries to dig deeper into Kramer's past by getting close to Jill Tuck. And a mother and son wait in fear while a barrel of acid clings to the wall. Everyone is connected…somehow. Can you tell I'm tired? Because what was that? This week, we're reviewing the sixth installment of the Saw franchise directed by Kevin Greutert and starring Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Mark Rolston, Peter Outerbridge, and Shawnee Smith. We also discuss the antichrist. Box Office Pulp | Film Analysis, Movie Retrospectives, Commentary Tracks, Comedy, and More
With the Oscars behind us, many are taking a second look at the remarkable stories from last year that have been tragically overlooked by the academy. Tonight, Box Office Pulp would like to spotlight one such story, that of a humble engineer who forgot to cherish the little things, until a surprise diagnosis introduced him to a new hobby, a new gal, and a new lease on life. Before he can finish his life's work, though, he must rail against an uncaring medical system and stop the exploitative business practices of a corrupt institution, or else this will be one jigsaw puzzle left unsolved! In their final BOP n' A Movie audio commentary track on the series-- until next year, sat least-- the crew have finally reached Saw X, the John/Amanda reunion America didn't know it wanted. Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith are back in the playhouse, the script is free to set up absolutely nothing for a sequel, and there's an actual budget this time around, so does the THIRD return of a franchise that doesn't believe in letting itself die finally recapture the gruesome magic fans have been longing for since the original trilogy? If the words "we have a rope" mean anything to you, then you already know the answer!JOIN HOFFMAN'S EPIC BACON PIRATE NINJA MEME PAGE BY DOWNLOADING HERE. Saw III marks a major shift in the Saw franchise as we see Jigsaw die at the hands of his greatest enemy...Jeff? This week in our retrospective we're tackling the third installment of the Saw franchise. Starring Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Angus Macfadyen, Bahar Soomekh, and Dina Meyer. We start this film right where the last one left off with Jigsaw now on his deathbed and Amanda trying to do everything to keep him on this Earth…while being terrible at the one thing he asked her to do. Saw II was a crowd favorite, so will Saw III live up to the hype? We also talk about Terrifier 2, our cats, and the mysterious stomach bug working through everyone you know and love. We'd like to play a game… called “why are we the way that we are?” (Spoiler: No one wins) Saw X (2023) was such a fun time to watch and talk about. Are we nerds for liking this stupid franchise so much? Yes. Does Casey still get pumped every time Costas Mandylor comes on screen (or is mentioned)? Also yes. Do Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith both look incredible? ABSOLUTELY. Lets all thank the creators for not using deaging CGI. And for that stinger scene of course. What are your all time favorite saw traps?? Any news favs from this movie? Let us know in the comments! PS. Sorry for always having some video issues of some kind. Editor's Note: Mike's audio was borked and did our best to do a Lazarus on it and save the commentary. Will be jarring at first but hope we got it listenable for you. Our apologies! With Saw X currently gouging up the theaters, we continue our ongoing social experiment against the moral integrity of Cody's liver, BOP n' A Movie! This edition's reading from The Book of BOP brings us to Saw III, Darren Lynn Bousman's sophomore turn in the director's chair and Leigh Whannell's final word on Jigsaw and all his animal friends. Avoiding the franchise's most miscast leading man at all costs, the crew discuss the surprising tenderness and hilarious cruelty of Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith as horror's homicidal Batman & Robin. Containing perhaps the highest quantity of actors too good for the third entry in a Lionsgate franchise, does this end of the original era work as the finale to a trilogy, or is it just another link in the chain? And just how much footage did they shoot of Amanda wrecking people's shit? Swallow this tiny cassette drowned in Malort and find out!SAVE A LIFE (YOUR OWN, FROM LACK OF SAW III-RELATED MATERIAL) BY DOWNLOADING HERE.
