Matt Kemp comes on and opens up about K-4 and Buma
Just saying.

Stefanie Buma is a Perth based Editorial Wedding Photographer. Establishing her brand in 2012, she is one of the West-Coast's best photographers. Stefanie's work is featured in Vogue and The Wed and she is known for her signature style; she mixes day-dreams and nostalgia, shooting in a reportage style and on film. Stefanie is also a Mumma-to-be, business owner, entrepreneur and passionate advocate for nurturing your creativity and bringing love to our work as photographers. In this podcast (Part 1) we go deep on ‘creativity' as a concept and construct in our daily practice. It was an insightful convo, full of tips and tricks to implement in your business as well as 3 Tips on how to master intimate and relaxed couple portraits. In Part 2, where Stef goes into her experience navigating the last two years of shooting weddings while going through multiple pregnancies and recurrent miscarriage. Stef speaks candidly about her experiences in hope to bring awareness to the topic and we hope that by sharing this episode during Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month that we can have a positive impact on a conversation that impacts our community. The episode includes sensitive topics which may not be right for you at this time including miscarriage and pregnancy loss. I hope you enjoy this Part 1 episode of Life & Lens with guest interviewee, Stefanie Buma. Lei xTIPS FOR HELPING YOUR COUPLES SLOW-DOWN AND BE INTIMATE DURING COUPLE PORTRAITS:Establish early on that your couple portraits are not a photoshoot; remove all expectations that you provide direction so the portraits are authentic to them. Have a few go-to prompts to bring the couple's faces closer together and capture their reaction, such as ‘whisper something into the groom's ear', ‘stiff the bride's ear' or ‘think about the favourite part of your partner's face and touch it'.Acknowledge that being in front of the camera can feel awkward; there is no world where it's not awkward to be in front of the camera at least for a few moments and if it is, encourage them to turn toward each other and feel that awkwardness together. Step back and walk away so they're tiny in the frame; let your couple have this private moment and by the time you return they're more relaxed. By setting up this environment, they're able to be more intimate with each other. Deel, like en abonneer!

Frank tells us his perspective of Roadrunner, through the eyes of a Dutch Music television professional.
Hello my little belly buttons and welcome to the Better Each Day podcast with me, Bruce Hilliard, the best looking face you'll ever hear. This is the podcast where musicians talk about their music and backstories. But due to the influx of comments and suggestions for more tales with tunes and not so many interviews with top notch celebrity rock stars, here's a story about the 60s and 70s dance scene in small town America, Aberdeen and Hoquiam Washington. But this could be anywhere there are boys, girls and rock'n'roll. It started with lame school dances, followed by the necktie ones where the girl asks the boy and without warning she does something weird with her hair and you're forced to have your picture taken with them. There I was, in the prime of my teenage hormonal train wreck, checking out the girls' bums…I was known in medical circles as the gluteus to their maximus. Now, this coming from a dude that was too shy to ask anyone to dance. I used to go to these events solely to see the band. We all were heading into those formative teenage years and joining the rest of the teenage “cloud”...teenage cloud, the place where knowledge and pertinent information is stored, in the teenage brain. The brain, according to modern science, through magnetic resonance imaging, has determined that it won't be fully functional until the little zit factories are 25. So, it turns out that most people get married before their brains are fully developed…makes sense. According to what I've read, after the dramatic growth spurts of your childhood and teenage years, by the age of 25 your brain has hit peak performance. So there you are, surrounded by hundreds of young girls with 86 billion neurons telling you “let us dance like children of the night.” The brain uses over 20% of a human's caloric intake per day. That part we had covered with the calories of about a half triple cheeseburger. Not a challenge for a teen. For some reason, at that age it's not only okay among peers to be socially awkward but drunk and or stoned was not uncommon at parties or dances. In fact worthy of weird respect. One of my formal tolo “girls ask boy” dates was Bumajean Scleavage, she put the “ugh” in ugly. She was so ugly she had, and this was something we said in high school, marks on her body from people touching her with ten foot poles. She was so ugly her mother had to breastfeed her through straw. Bumajean and I dropped a party before the dance, well a quick get together at one of her buddy's up in Bel Air aka snob hill. We weren't there for more than 20 minutes when we headed across town in my mom's yellow submarine mobile to the dance. In true fashion, we never danced but not because of me. She spewed in my mom's car. On the floor, down the door inside and down the window, and of course all over her. It appeared to be a vintage Boones Farm or Annie Green Springs fortified wine. Her formal doo was smashed up, her masquara was bordering racoon. Once I got used to the smell I asked her “Well, Buma. Should we get our picture taken now? I found this paragraph on a website called http://pnwbands.com/ (Pacific Northwest Bands). It says: I was about 16. I had just played at the Harborena with my high school band. I was driving my girlfriend's Mustang and I backed into the brown Ford LTD Hoquiam Police car parked in front. Being young and dumb and I think somewhat high, I drove away at a brisk rate, thinking no one had witnessed it. I was arrested in Aberdeen about 15 minutes later (Duh!) and spent one of many nights in a juvenile hall. My dad was thrilled, as was my girlfriend's dad. I had to work off the community damages to the dented door…$225. I acquired a new nickname that I can't mention here. I was banished from the Harborena. Signed Maitland Ward, March 2006 But the real happening scene for the 21 and older group and holders of fake I.D, The Rocker. The Rocker was anything but...
Erick Buma has been a huge part of Noosa Church over the years, leading worship and raising his four children who not only love God but love His house. Hear some great wisdom from someone who has walked the journey well.

Brian Buma - The Atlas of a Changing Climate... with TRE´s Hannah Murray
The world is a pretty big place and it’s the size of the planet that can sometimes make climate change a difficult concept for a lot of people to wrap their heads around. A new book is trying to knock that concept down to size. It’s called “The Atlas of a Changing Climate,” and it’s beautifully illustrated with contemporary and historic maps and images from around the world. It’s the work of Brian Buma. Dr. Buma is an assistant professor of Quantitative Biology at the University of Colorado; and an affiliate professor at the University of Alaska. His explorations and wanderings around the globe have been featured in National Geographic. We’ll also spend an Academic Minute with life in a warming sea.

Kathryn interviews Author, Professor Brian Buma PhD.Climate change, shrinking wildlife habitats, rising sea levels, and vanishing species. These are big, important ideas that deserve a proper exploration. National Geographic Explorer Brian Buma PhD lucidly pairs the science of climate change with maps, infographics, and charts that make the complex information not only comprehensible, but compelling. This approach illustrates multifaceted ecological change with scientific clarity and aesthetic appeal in equal measure. Nature itself charts the course, with chapters devoted to atmosphere, water, land, wildlife, and urban ecology. Buma tells a larger story about what drives environmental change, outlining the historical developments behind each topic and detailing their current state and possible future. Take this incredible journey and be inspired to act as an environmental steward in your everyday life. Buma is an Assistant Professor of Integrative Biology, University of Colorado Denver.Kathryn also interviews Author Norman E. Rosenthal MD. Many people find poetry delightful, interesting and thought-provoking. According to Author Norman E. Rosenthal MD, poetry can also have the power to soothe, inspire, comfort and yes, even heal. In addition, poetry can act as a lens through which we can gaze into the parallel processes of the mind and brain and experience treasures that might otherwise be entirely hidden. He shares 50 inspiring poems designed to heal as well as bring joy into your life. Dr. Rosenthal is the world-renowned psychiatrist, researcher and NY Times best-selling author, who first described seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and pioneered the use of light therapy as a treatment during his twenty years at the National Institute of Mental Health. His work has been featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, NPR and other national media.

Listen Now to Dr.Mrs. Future Show with Dr. Brian Buma Our news this week includes the crazy anti-satellite missile test by Russia, viewing of this week’s Beaver Moon lunar eclipse, the latest theories about that galactic traveler, Oumuamua. Dr. Brian Buma, Disturbance EcologistWe have a very engaging and fun interview this week with Dr. Brian Buma, a ‘Disturbance Ecologist,’ and author of the new book, “An Atlas of the Changing Climate.” The book is a beautiful collection of maps of the planet, many from National Geographic, giving you a global view of the planet and its complex ecosystems. Dr. Buma shares with us his adventures to the tip of South America, studying the southern most trees in the world, and Alaska, looking at how the northern treeline is changing. He speaks to many of our listeners about their concerns and beliefs about climate change, and has great way of translating scientific information into something the lay public can grok. Enjoy!

Disturbance is an integral part of any ecosystem, but as the human presence on this planet continues to grow, disturbances are becoming more frequent and more severe. In this episode, Dr. Brian Buma joins us to discuss his research on disturbance ecology. His work has taken him all over the globe with the aim of understanding how disturbances lead to rapid changes in slow growing ecosystems like forests. From climate change and tree death to edge of range dynamics among myriad plants, Dr. Buma and his colleagues are helping us understand ecosystem resilience and change. We also discuss and exciting community science project that you can get involved with in your own neighborhood.
