On this episode I dish on the power of CARRYOVER to make your training more effective, time efficient, and frankly fun (who DOESN'T like getting more gains for their efforts?) Tune in and enjoy. On that note, if you like training that: · Gives you more strength than it takes from you · Improves your stamina and resilience simultaneously · Powers-up every nook, cranny, crevice, and corner of your Soft Machine Then you just might like my 9-Minute Kettlebell and Bodyweight Challenge. As the name indicates, it's just 9 minutes long, and it's designed to be done WITH your current workouts – NOT instead of them. Even cooler: Many find that it actually amplifies their strength in their favorite kettlebell and bodyweight moves, like presses, squats, pullups, and more. And best of all, it's free. How free? I'm talkin' freer than the 4th of July, my friend. Get thee thine own copy here: http://www.9MinuteChallenge.com Have fun and happy training! Aleks Salkin

Ruthie and Clay break down what needs to carry over from the Cowboys game, how the offense is finding its rhythm, and why this matchup could be all about protecting the QB, running the ball, and winning on special teams. Plus, how the defense can keep building momentum and why 2–2 at the bye would flip the whole narrative.

Dr. Ian Burke is a weed scientist at Washington State University. His work focuses on weed biology and ecology, and he does a lot of work with herbicides. Dr. Burke discusses his research evaluating herbicides for use in peas, lentils and chickpeas and how to manage herbicide carry over issues that can impact these crops. This is the deep dive into herbicide carry over that you might not have even realized you needed.“ We have not enough moisture during the summer to break down the herbicides and not enough heat units during the winter to break down the herbicides. So we really have sort of a perfect storm, a very unique situation, in the United States where herbicides applied in our important rotational crop like wheat persists for far longer than than anywhere else.” - Ian Burke, Ph.D.This Week on Growing Pulse Crops:Meet Ian Burke, Ph.D. and learn about cropping systems in his area of the Pacific NorthwestUnderstand herbicide carryover and the factors that causes herbicide persistence like the characteristics of the products themselves, environmental conditions, and soil propertiesDiscover how farmers can manage herbicide carryover while still maintaining the efficacy of their herbicide program. Growing Pulse Crops is produced by Dr. Audrey Kalil and hosted by Tim Hammerich of the Future of Agriculture Podcast.

On deck: (6:42) I'm pumped to share and remind everyone about the seventh anniversary of the podcast this Saturday, which will be a LIVESTREAM on YouTube. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information as we get closer to March 1st. (7:12) It was a big week for the NHL with the success of the 4 Nations Face-Off I'm sure it was more than what the commissioner could've ever expected. Will there be any carryover as the season has resumed? Alex Ovechkin is now a bakers dozen away from passing Wayne Gretzky on the all time goal scoring list. Will he do it before the season is over? It's time to dissect the Wild Card races in both the East and West. And with the trade deadline just ten days away, it should be a busy week as teams will look for reinforcements as we get to the final third of the season. (28:19) On the hardwood, you have to be heavily concerned about the NY Knicks. They not only lost, but they were destroyed out of the All-Star Break losing big to Cleveland and Boston on the road. Are they missing a certain ingredient? Are they title worthy? Things aren't looking up in San Antonio as phenom Victor Wembanyama will sit out the rest of the season with a blood clot, while coach Gregg Popovich won't return as he's recovering from a stroke. What will the Sixers do with Joel Embiid? Surgery on his knee? Just rest? The conundrum is that they are STILL in the playoff mix even though they're 14 games under .500. I'll see what else is popping in the Association (Luka Doncic ready to take off after his biggest game as a Laker on Saturday night) as things seem to be quiet overall. (49:06) College basketball is waiting to bask in the month of March, because things have been rather low key over the past few days. Although there were a few upsets (Miss St., Missouri, Texas A&M) and St. John's win vs. UConn, there isn't much to discuss. (52:05) MLB Spring Training has begun. Juan Soto hits a HR in his first at-bat. A sign of things to come for the new Met right fielder? Yankees extend Aaron Boone for two more years, and have also raised the ban on facial hair, but what about hair length? Then you have MLB & ESPN mutually agreeing to part ways after the '25 season, with three years left on their deal. Where will MLB go next? (1:00:23) Lastly, the NFL had some news where there was a retirement (Cowboys Zach Martin) and two hirings of note (JAX GM James Gladstone and NO DC Brandon Staley, who reconnects with Kellen Moore) Please subscribe, leave a rating and post a review on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Audacy, Amazon Music and iHeartRadio or wherever you get your podcasts.
