For decades, the Majestic Bass Tournament on Lake Darbonne has been more than just a fishing event, it's been a family tradition for some, a cornerstone of the local community, and the one bragging right that everyone who fishes it, wants. On this episode, Nolan brought back your favorite guest, Greg Hicks, and they sat down with Dale Taylor, the man who started it all, and his grandson Daniel Taylor who's helping carry the legacy forward. Together, they talk about the roots of the tournament, unforgettable stories from the water, what makes Lake Darbonne special, and how a shared love of fishing is passed from one generation to the next. This one's full of heart, history, and the hometown pride carried outside the banks of Farmerville Louisiana.https://www.spotteddogsportinggoods.com/
Our main segment in this episode is an interview with Daniel Taylor, an anti-Zionist Jewish socialist and regular contributor to Red Flag newspaper. Daniel and Emma talk about why the mainstream media are so aggressively pro-Israel. From the Murdoch press to the state-run ABC, the mainstream media dehumanises the Palestinians and helps cover up Israeli war crimes. We go through all their tricks, double standards and hypocrisies, and try to explain why the media landscape is so homogenous when it comes to Israel. But first up, Chloe and Emma discuss the recent resurgence of anti-refugee rhetoric in Australia. With the High Court overturning a decade-old legal precedent which held that refugees could be detained indefinitely - Australian politics has once more descended into a hysterical anti-refugee race to the bottom. -------------------------------- Further reading "The mainstream media are pro-Israel propaganda" by Daniel Taylor in Red Flag "Why journalists must speak out about Gaza" in Red Flag

“Sober energy man, it's just a different deal. And I think that was one of the biggest things and it took a couple of months for this to really kick in you know, but you start to get better sleep and you're like, “Hey, all of a sudden, I'm a morning person”. There's no better way to start your day.”Episode #82 of The Hope Initiative with Daniel Taylor. How do you define a shitty day?
