This the fourth and final show (at least for now) in our new mini-series of talking with local lenders around Denver. If you've listened to a few of our podcasts, you know the importance of financing for real estate investing. We wanted to do a series of interviews with lenders that we regularly recommend and work with. Today, I sit down with Jon Wilms of FirstBank. I asked Jon to come on the show to discuss the various lending products that FirstBank offers. Jon is a bank officer and can underwrite various types of loans at FirstBank. I picked his brain about various products that Colorado real estate investors can use. FirstBank offers both conventional and portfolio loan products. I learned a lot from talking with Jon. Hopefully our conversation gives you insight into more lending options for you. Topics: FirstBank's underwriting guidelines for their portfolio products (and how they compare to conventional) Their guidelines for funding non-warrantable loans Getting loans as a LLC or self directed IRA The sliding scale First Bank uses for debt-to-income (DTI) ratios. Numerous investing scenarios that I threw at Jon! Contact Jon at Jon.wilms@efirstbank.com or 303-456-2356

Early in the history of Agile, most descriptions of Agile included the need to define a central metaphor to help guide the work. Somewhere over time, the idea of a central metaphor has disappeared as Agile thought leaders have focused on more tactical facets of Agile methods and frameworks. It’s time to reconsider the big picture story! We will also have columns from Gene Hughson (Form Follows Function) and Jeremy Berriault (QA Corner). Shameless Ad for my book! #195. Jon Amtrup is a Norwegian sailor who spends a large portion of his time above the Arctic Circle. In fact, when I spoke to him back in January at the Oslo Central Train Station, he had just returned from Tromso after a winter sailing expedition with a group of Russians who wanted to see the northern lights! So Jon’s pretty hard-core to say the least. He’s also an avid single-handed sailor, and is helping another Norwegian sailor put together a campaign for next year’s Golden Globe Race. Jon & I spoke at length about his career and his & our future Arctic plans. Contact Jon at explorenorth.no -- On the Wind is presented by Weems & Plath. Visit weems-plath.com to see their line of fine nautical and weather instruments. Since 1928. -- Come ocean sailing on Andy & Mia's Swan 48 Isbjorn at 59-north.com/offshore.

We will also have columns from Kim Pries with his Software Sensei column and Gene Hughson with an entry from his Form Follows Function column. Shameless Ad for my book!
