Welcome to Episode 1656 on Italian Wine Podcast, Wine, Food & Travel With Marc Millon. Today, he will be interviewing Jacopo Maniaci More about today's winery The Tenuta di Fessina project was born in 2007, when after a series of trips aimed at studying and discovering the Etna terroir, Silvia Maestrelli, late Tuscan producer and pioneer on the volcano, decided to stop in Rovittello, on the northern side, where today the beating heart of Fessina resides. Here she was captivated by the uniqueness of the place, the very particular position of the soil, gathered between two volcanic slopes dating back to 1809 and 1911. From here it all begins, first in the North, precisely in 2007, then to the South West, one of the bets initials made in 2009, and finally to the East, in the municipality of Milo, starting from 2012. The philosophy of TDF project, is to collect and vinify different snapshots, all taken from different sides and only in historical reference areas. Jacopo Maniaci takes place at the winery in 2014 as winery director and in 2021 as CEO, he graduated Economics and communication at UNI of Messina, Sicily, and took a Master Degree at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Cuneo. His family is in restaurants and breeding in the mountains of Nebrodi, but he lives at the winery since 2017, taking care of the whole TF project. Fessina in particular rests on an alluvial residual, pyroclastic, a sandy and fine deposit, made of volcanic sand and pumice, dating back between 5,000 and 15,000 years old, draining and capable of guarantee elegance and verticality. Today the winery sells in 20 countries, with average 80.000 bottles of DOC Etna wines. A. Helwa on How to Embark on Your Spiritual Journey, and “Secrets of Divine Love.” A. Helwa is a writer, poet, and has a Master Degree in Divinity. Helwa is the *anonymous* author of the brilliant book, Secrets of Divine Love: A Journey into the Heart of Islam. One night, I proposed on Instagram a potential Secrets of Divine Love book club. I read the first few pages of the book years prior, and I knew I couldn't read this deeply spiritual book alone. My DMs were flooded with the sentiment of people who were also waiting for the right time and group to read the book with. So, a couple days before Ramadan began, we shared a sign up for the first AYS book club and 1100+ people signed up!! This book club has become a loving and curious community, with A. Helwa's words bringing us all together — Helwa even joined the book club herself! This storytelling session digs into questions to ask and tools to use when embarking on your own spiritual quest. May this conversation serve as a gift and companion to you, wherever you may be. In this episode, I ask all my curious questions, and we even took questions from, YOU! So look out for those around the 1:00:00 mark! Themes and Questions Include: How is Your Heart? What does it feel like, look like, to embark on a spiritual journey? How does your family, community react to embarking on your own journey? How do we navigate disconnection and absolutism that my truth is the Only Truth? A spiritual journey while getting lost in a desert, literally. What is a question you're asking yourself these days? What is book is currently serving as your companion? Her Nourished Motherhood Program has helped many homeschooling mamas to beat burn-out with a holistic approach to wellbeing, motherhood and homeschooling.  In This Episode Often, my podcast interviews offer perspective into different points of view, circumstances and the rest of the world. It can be easy to live our life and assume that everyone shares similar thoughts, ideals and circumstances. But that is not always the case. I personally enjoy hearing the stories from others that have grown up and lived a learning life quite different from my own, or the one that I know. It gives me a better understanding of the world.  In this episode Evgenia shares about life growing up in the Soviet Union and how that reflects on childhood and parenting. What does a life shaped by living behind the Iron Curtain look like? We talked about: The school system (a day in the life of the school day, and class in the Soviet Union) Raising children (the expectations on both kids and parents)  Family and community purpose (How differently they varied from life in the western world today) Homeschooling  This was a wonderful discussion on not only how we are shaped, but the changes that we go through in our lives that begin to change our world, values and parenting. And of course...lead us to homeschooling. Research has shown, over and over, how communities that are more connected fare much better doing periods of acute disaster. The more robust relationships and networks of solidarity that exist within communities, the more likely they are to weather the figurative and literal storms that are only increasing in frequency and severity with climate change. In other words, one of the best strategies for climate resilience is social resilience.   Rev. Vernon K. Walker is the program director for Climate CREW and was originally born and raised in Philadelphia. Rev. Various psychedelic drugs have been used for thousands of years by people all over the world, primarily in spiritual ceremonies and for medicinal purposes. In 1938 Albert Hoffman discovered LSD, and it served as the Western world's introduction to this type of drug. Psychedelics came to define the counterculture generation of the 1960s, and there was a parallel movement in research science for their potential use in mental health.  In 1970, President Nixon introduced the Controlled Substances Act, and research came to a grinding halt. Today, there is a push to decriminalize medical and even recreational use for many - if not all - psychedelics, and this is both interesting and terrifying. On this week's podcast, we'll explore the modern landscape of psychedelic drugs and mental health.  Listen and learn: How ketamine is legally used for clinical depression How magic mushrooms and MDMA show promise for treating PTSD The risk vs reward of the legalization movement Why spirituality and mysticism seem forever coupled to this class of drugs  Links Matt's Site ABOUT OUR GUEST Matt is the author of Psychedelics for Everyone.
