These publications are also written by academic professors who have not been out into the practical coaching environment. We dissect and transfer this complex information in to a practical coaching setting so that the masses can make sense, and apply it. Each day we strive to challenge the way things are in the coaching world by seeking expert advice, trialing new strategies, and conducting research on human performance. This week on Breaking Par with Bernard Sheridan we interview Monte Scheinblum the son of a Major League Baseball player, Monte aspired to follow in his father’s footsteps, until a major elbow injury and reconstruction at age fifteen forced him to give up baseball for golf. Monte’s early success in the game eventually led him to UCLA, where he played golf for the Bruins before turning professional. After an impressive career as a long drive champion and trick shot exhibitionist, Monte became a full-time professional tournament player, with the goal of eventually playing on the PGA Tour. He played on the Web.com (then Nike) tour for a number of years, and suffered through several close calls at the second stage of PGA Qualifying School. These disappointments led Monte on a quest to perfect his swing mechanics, enlisting many famous instructors and methods along the way. Monte’s quest for perfect swing mechanics failed to produce the results he wanted on tour, but it led to some critical realizations regarding the golf swing. After fifteen years as a full-time professional golfer, Monte began teaching to share what he learned and prevent others from making the mistakes he made. Today, Monte teaches golfers of all ability levels, from the earliest beginners to top juniors, college players and PGA Tour players, and has given more than 2,500 online lessons. He remains highly competitive in both long drive and tournament golf to this day. Monte's website - http://montescheinblum.com/ View Breaking Par website- http://www.breakingparpodcast.com

While many successful instructors have developed a methodology for the golf swing, not all students may be able to move in a way that suits the instructor's method and therefore the student is left with a severe misunderstanding of what will allow them to play their best golf. Jason is committed to a 4 spoke system of Assessment, Comprehension, Training, and Application. By teaching in fours, Jason is able to keep his instruction clear and memorable, allowing for the student to see instant as well as long lasting improvement. This personalized and thorough approach is unlike anything offered in today's market of coaching services and is guaranteed to help you achieve successes you never thought possible. Fore Door Golf begins with prioritizing the learning process. At a fundamental level, all golfers must learn what is required to gain 1) Contact 2) Direction 3) Distance & 4) Control of a golf shot. Along the way, there is room for many principles and preferences of how to achieve these parameters. Fore Door Golf encompasses an infinite amount of patterns to accomplish the goal of enjoying the game. Contact - http://jasonsedan.com/

This week our guest is Nick Tumminello fitness expert from Fort Lauderdale Florida. Nick is not a golfer but understands what it takes to train golfers to play their best. Here is a little bit about Nick. Nick’s hybrid approach to training allows him to leverage the tools, knowledge and skills of many disciplines and methods to help his clients and to educate other trainers how to deliver results. As early as his teenage years Nick knew that he wanted to be a trainer. His early influence came from his mother, growing up in a gym watching her prepare for bodybuilding competitions. She’ll tell you that “Nick grew up on iron and sweat.” As a way to connect Nick and his mother attended fitness events and conferences from the time he was 16 years old. Personal training is the only ‘real job’ nick’s ever known. But, his story isn’t common. Not being one to fall in line with the crowd Nick never attended college or got a degree. He graduated high school as an average student. He worked hard to accumulate a lot of on the job experience and despite his distaste for structured education Nick was very interested in learning. After being fired from his first two personal training jobs due to his independent thinking and lack of needing to ‘fit in’ he went off on his own to start a business. Training and fitness aren’t a hobby to Nick. This is a profession that he’s very passionate about. It would be easy to confuse Nick as a ‘science guy’ due to his ability to challenge thoughts and ideas, the way he respects the scientific process and critical thinking. However, he’s most excited by the application and end results that the information he learns and the ideas he creates can produce. “Studies and research are great, but if there is no practical application there is no need” Nick’s approach to many things can be described in three words… Hustle and Muscle. This is applied in training, business and intellectually for Nick. Training: Nick’s hybrid, mixed approach to training allows for the possibility that you can look great and perform great at the same time with a calculated and specific approach to training.
