Valerie Voner has been in the field of integrative practices for most of her life, and is the founder and principal of New England Institute of Reflexology and Universal Studies. She teaches continuing education in massage, reflexology, reiki, and yoga. Betsy Duncan is a Florida native and grew up in Fort Myers. Her passion for massage was discovered in High School Theater where she would give shoulder massages to classmates. Wanting to learn more, she attended Heritage Institute for 1,000 hours, becoming a nationally certified massage therapist in 2005. She then worked with chiropractors and physical therapist for several years, focusing on helping people with injuries. From 2007 to the present Betsy has worked for the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs and the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach catering to our welcomed beach guests! From 2010-2012 Betsy taught massage therapy at Cortiva Institute where she enjoyed teaching Swedish, Hot Stones and Hydrotherapy. She has worked on several movie and commercial sets massaging cast and crew. Her detail to service has awarded her the recognition of several celebrity clients, and her nickname “Mighty Mouse” from an NFL player. Her favorite modalities are Swedish, Therapeutic, Hot Stone, Warm Shell and Aromatherapy. Paul Howey is the Atlanta Braves AAA strength and conditioning coach and is currently in his second season with the Braves organization. He spent the 2018 season with Atlanta’s AA team, the Mississippi Braves, and was voted the 2018 Southern League Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. Prior to joining the Braves, he was the Low A strength and conditioning coach in the Seattle Mariners organization from 2015-2017. Paul is a 2005 graduate of Abilene Christian University where he played baseball and earned a degree in Exercise Science. He holds a Master’s Degree in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from the University of California Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Cortiva Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. He’s a Certified and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a licensed massage therapist. He desires to provide a holistic strength and conditioning approach to the athletes he works with through integrating player specific strength and conditioning programming while including individually specific manual therapy and soft tissue modalities. Working primarily with in-season professional baseball players, he believes that the relationship and communication built with each athlete is key to being successful and that everything done in the weight room should complement what the player’s demands and needs are on the field. Paul’s wife Liz is currently studying Osteopathic medicine at AT Still University where she is a third-year student. She was my head coach when I intern at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning back in 2009 and someone who I have always considered as a mentor and close friend. To me, Nicole is one of the finest coaches I have ever worked with within physical preparation profession. Nicole is a Human Performance Coach who serves American and International teams/organizations. She is currently living and consulting in Central Europe, building developmental programs and infrastructure for professional football (soccer) clubs and community-based football clubs. In 2018, she consulted for the Dutch National Volleyball Team in preparation for the 2018 World Championships. From 2012-2017, Nicole joined EXOS, formerly Athletes’ Performance, as a Human Performance Coach and education specialist. She served as the Education Department Head for Team EXOS, a Human Performance Company in Phoenix, AZ who serves the world’s elite athletic populations. Starting in 2012, she supported International Football organizations, Rugby organizations, International Cycling and various American sports. Prior to EXOS, she worked alongside Michael Boyle in 2006-2012.
