Send us a textThere is a quiet exhaustion that comes from caring deeply — especially when you're the one others lean on.In this episode, I explore what it truly means to hold space for pain without losing yourself in it.Many of us are empaths, caregivers, parents, therapists, leaders, or simply deeply compassionate human beings. And while our capacity to care is a gift, it can also become a source of burnout, emotional fatigue, and self-abandonment when we don't know where we end and others begin. In this conversation, I gently unpack the difference between empathy and over-identification, why the urge to fix often comes from our own discomfort with pain, and how presence can be far more healing than solutions. We also explore the importance of emotional boundaries — not as walls, but as a way to stay connected without breaking. This episode includes a grounding, restorative meditation to help you reconnect with your center, replenish your nervous system, and remember that you are allowed to care without collapsing. You don't have to carry what was never yours. You are allowed to be present and protected at the same time. With love,Dr. Evette Rose

For centuries, a woman’s voice has been met with suspicion. Her pain questioned. Her memory picked apart. Her credibility always on trial. In this episode, Dr. Pat and I dive deep into the legacy of disbelief that women carry in their bones — and the emotional, spiritual, and societal cost of constantly having to prove our truth. We’re pulling back the curtain on the systems that trained us to mistrust women — and even to mistrust ourselves. From historical witch trials to modern-day courtrooms and comment sections, the message has been loud and clear: "Your word is not enough." But what if it is? Together, we explore: Why women’s credibility is still questioned in 2025 — and what that says about the world The spiritual wound of being dismissed or disbelieved How internalized doubt keeps women small, silent, and unsure Why holding space without judgment is one of the most radical things we can do And how using our platforms — from podcasts to kitchen tables — can become acts of truth-telling, witnessing, and collective healing Because sometimes, the most powerful thing you can say to another woman is: “I believe you.” And sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do — is pass the mic. Have you ever given or received advice, only to realise it didn't land the way you hoped? This week I explore the common (and sometimes uncomfortable) experience of unsolicited advice—when someone offers suggestions or solutions without being asked. I reflect on how this type of advice, even when well-intentioned, can feel dismissive, create disconnection, and even lead to codependency. Support doesn't always mean solving. Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can offer is our full, caring attention. In this episode you will learn: Why unsolicited advice can feel invalidating or emotionally disconnecting What some of the internal motivators are behind giving advice The importance of presence and co-regulation over rushing to fix someone's feelings Helpful alternatives to unsolicited advice Reflective journal prompts to consider - How do you feel when someone gives you unsolicited advice? Episode Description In this enlightening episode, Scott Smith dives deep into what truly creates happiness in our everyday lives. Drawing from decades of coaching experience with thousands of clients, Scott reveals that behind every goal and aspiration lies one fundamental desire: to be happy. Scott shares personal insights about a middle-of-the-night revelation that prompted him to make changes in his own life, demonstrating how we sometimes need a gentle nudge (or divine intervention) to get back on track. Through practical wisdom and actionable advice, Scott outlines simple mindset shifts that can transform your daily experience into one filled with genuine happiness and fulfillment, regardless of your circumstances. Featured Story After a 3 AM wake-up call where Scott humorously describes God calling him a "dummy" for not listening to his audience, he returns to the show's original theme music by popular demand. This lighthearted story illustrates how sometimes we need to stop second-guessing ourselves and just make the changes we know are right, both in podcasting and in life. Key Takeaways Happiness is the ultimate goal behind every other goal we pursue Being grateful for what you have creates an immediate shift in perspective and reduces anxiety Aligning your daily actions with your core values and beliefs is essential for authentic happiness Making someone else's day better creates a remarkable "happiness payback" for yourself Asking "What can I do?" when faced with challenges keeps you from feeling stuck Holding space for your dreams is crucial - busy lives require intentional time for what matters Regular self-reflection through tools like the Perfect Week Planner helps identify what's working and what needs adjustment Memorable Quotes "Align your actions with your values and beliefs - when your day-to-day actions match who you are on the inside, you'll be a happy person." "We thrive in growth, not by being stuck. Whenever anything challenging happens, ask yourself 'What can I do?' There's always something you can do." "When you hold space for your dreams, it's amazing what happens - those dreams tend to come true." Scott's Three-Step Approach Practice Daily Gratitude: Take a moment each day to pause and identify specific things you're grateful for to shift your perspective and reduce stress. Align Actions with Values: Evaluate whether your daily activities reflect your true inner values and beliefs, then make small adjustments to bring them into alignment. Hold Space for Your Dreams: Intentionally carve out time in your schedule for the things that matter most to you, allowing your dreams to develop and manifest. I don't know who needs to hear this, but the stories you've been telling yourself about who you are and what you're capable of aren't even true. In this episode, we dive deep into the narratives that limit us, questioning the doubts and fears that shape our lives. The good news is you have the power to rewrite them—and I'm hoping this episode helps you begin to do just that.I'm sharing a personal story about how I once believed my voice didn't matter and how I finally broke free from that limiting belief. We'll also reflect on how these stories often stem from childhood or societal conditioning, and why they don't have to define you. It's time to challenge the narratives that hold you back and step into the truth of who you really are, friend. If you're ready to rewrite your own story, there's also a guided exercise in here to help you identify and reframe the beliefs that are no longer serving you. This episode is all about shifting your mindset and embracing the belief that you are more than enough—and always have been. You'll wanna grab a journal for this one.Reflection prompts from this episode:• What is a belief that has been limiting you? • Where did this belief come from? • Is this an absolute truth? Is there any evidence that contradicts this belief? Challenge the belief with facts and experiences that prove it wrong.• Rewrite this belief into one that empowers you.• Now that you've reframed the belief, it's time to breathe life into it. Speak it out loud.• Close your eyes and imagine yourself fully embodying this new belief. Visualize what your life would look like if you truly believed this story, then write down what you see.Credits:Music - "I Enjoy My Space" by Sarah, The Illstrumentalist (via Epidemic Sound)Other episodes that may resonate:Hold Space for Self-Doubt, but Don't Stay for TeaAffirmations to Fill Your CupTransforming Pain into PurposeSupport the showHosted by Steph R. The Mindful Healers Podcast with Dr. Jessie Mahoney and Dr. Ni-Cheng Liang
Learning to Hold Space and Compassion for Yourself In this episode, Dr. Yvonne Juarez, a pediatrician and physician leader at TPMG, shares her transformative journey of self-compassion, personal growth, and professional renewal. Yvonne and Jessie's friendship spans decades—they completed their pediatric residency together from 1999-2002 and both built their medical and leadership careers at TPMG. After years apart, they reconnected when Yvonne attended a Pause & Presence Coaching, Yoga, Mindfulness & Culinary Medicine CME Retreat at Sagrada. At a time when she felt depleted—after enduring the pandemic, personal losses, family transitions, and professional shifts—Yvonne found exactly what she needed. The retreat offered her a profound reset, blending nature, yoga, nourishment, and self-care in a way that helped her be kinder to herself, her patients, and her loved ones. It was a “Game-Changer” Yvonne came to the retreat at a pivotal moment. She had long admired Jessie's energy, communication, and approach to creating possibilities. She arrived exhausted and left transformed. The experience provided her: A community of sisters in medicine Deep self-care through nature, nourishment, and mindfulness The ability to set boundaries and hold space for herself A renewed ability to be fully present with her patients and family Greater clarity and deeper, more fulfilling relationships She learned to let go and embrace self-care Before the retreat, Yvonne carried guilt about prioritizing her well-being—whether it was scheduling health appointments, taking time off, or even getting sick. Now, she understands the fundamental truth: she must put on her own oxygen mask before she can help others with theirs. Yvonne also brought healing home. Not only does she now encourage her colleagues to invest in their well-being, but she also invited her husband to the Connect in Nature Mindful Healers Retreat in 2024. He had witnessed how transformative the first retreat was for her, so he eagerly joined. The impact? They now share a common language of connection, which has enriched their marriage and strengthened their relationship with their teenage daughter. They were so moved by the experience that they will be returning for the first-ever couples retreat over Memorial Day Weekend at Nicasio Creek Farm. Healthy Reminders from This Episode: Hold space and compassion for yourself—as a caregiver, professional, and human. Personal growth retreats help prevent and heal burnout by fostering self-care and mindfulness. Relationships thrive through shared personal growth experiences. Prioritizing your own needs isn't selfish—it's necessary. If you've been feeling drained, overwhelmed, or simply ready for a reset, this episode is your invitation to step into renewal. #SelfCompassion #Burnout #Healing #Medicine #Marriage #Family #MentalHealth #Retreat #PersonalGrowth Move beyond consuming this amazing podcast. And if you're calling in more of what you desire this year – whether it's more clients, abundance, or opportunities – then it's time to focus on expanding your capacity to hold more. This isn't about doing more. It's about leading with intention, upgrading your energy, and stepping into your next-level identity as a space holder. So if you closed out 2024 feeling depleted, but you want big things in 2025 and you want to do it in a way that doesn't burn you out – this episode is for you.Want more?Instagram: @bec_cuzzilloDownload The ChatGPT Prompts To Create Your Body Of Work To Stand Out AND Sell Out for FREE at https://www.beccuzzillo.com/aiSpiritual Business Mistressmind – Apply to work with me in 2025 hereDevoted Priestess Day Retreat & Training – Find out more and book your spot hereFind out more at https://www.beccuzzillo.com

Lesley Logan 0:01 Fuck yeah. Lesley Logan 0:02 Get ready for some wins. Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Lesley Logan 0:48 Hello. Be It babe. Welcome back to another Friday. Oh my God, we're already in the second Friday of this year. And you know what I'm gonna say? I'm gonna say what everyone's saying, the year is flying by. Thank God. You know what? Whether it's good or it's bad, sometimes it's good that we're just flying through it, as long as you're taking time for yourself. And I will say you should celebrate listening to this episode as a win, because this episode is the time where we celebrate people's wins. When we celebrate people's wins, we are being present. We are taking time to hold space for the work and effort that other people have done, including ourselves. Because sometimes you'll hear your own FYF, and it's inspiring to hear what people are doing, which is why we added a new segment in because I want to just shout out like women who've inspired me on the internet, including yourself. It could be you one day, it could be you, who knows. So don't worry, these will stay short, but this one is 23-year-old Adriana Brownlee becomes the youngest woman to scale the world's 14 highest peaks. So we've actually interviewed the first woman to ever scale this top seven K2s. But this woman scaled the 14 highest peak, which is like not even one per continent. It probably could be multiple in a continent. So Adriana Brownlee quit university and decided to climb mountains instead, big mountains. And she has ticked off the boxes as in the world's tallest mountains. The 23-year-old eventually became the youngest woman to climb the world's 14 highest peaks. Let this be a reminder, all paths are different. Choose yours, trust it and work hard. Yes, yes, I'm into that. Yes, I love that so much. I mean, my goodness, university is great for people it's great for. And whatever you are out there doing on this earth, whatever you're trying to educate yourself for, whatever you're working on, is great. We all get to have different paths. And we can be inspired by others. And sometimes you can be so inspired you're like, why that sounds cool. I want to do that. And if Adriana does that for you, fabulous. And if not, freak, that's so cool. 23 years old, and she did that. I mean, may we all do something that challenges us in a great way. And if school isn't challenging for you, you can do something else. Lesley Logan 2:45 All right, so today's win of yours, this one I'm really excited about. We haven't heard from this person in a bit, which you'll hear why, and I want you to see yourself in this win, because I know that many of you listening are dealing with things at home that we know nothing about, and they're not taking a few days, they could be taking a few years. So Joanne Sutton, she's an Agency member for many years. She lives in Australia, and she said, for the past three and a half years, I've been caring for my mom, who has serious health issues. This year, she has been hospitalized five times in seven months, and her last day was seven weeks when I visited her twice daily and took her food. After an amazing call with LL, I'm celebrating what I have still been able to achieve in my business during this very stressful and exhausting time, including being woken up multiple times during the night. If you have a lot going on in your life, hopefully you can see what is still possible. Many times, I wanted to give up, but I've still managed to write a fortnightly blog post and newsletter, keep teaching my one-on-one clients virtually via Skype. And last week, I taught 29 clients, the most I've ever taught for many, many months, had the second largest quarter financially in July, August and September, since I started teaching virtually four and a half years ago, and my mom was in the hospital during this quarter. Wrote a book about becoming pain-free through Pilates that launched on Amazon in February of this year and became a bestseller. Filmed two videos per month for my on demand library. I'm so grateful to be an agency member. I know I couldn't have continued to all of this without the support of LL, Brad and the Agency team. Joanne, you have freaking done a lot. And yes, she has a bestselling book, and it's really, really amazing. You should check her out. It's hard when things are going on that are outside of your thing that you're working on, you're like, come on, I'm working on this thing over here. And then we can feel bad about feeling resentful, and we can feel exhausted and we can wonder, but you know what, what's kind of crazy is when you're really busy and you have goals, you still manage to get things done. You just don't always have a time to celebrate it. So I just want to say, Joanne, thank you for taking time to celebrate with us so that we can all go, Oh my God. I have had some crappy shit going on the last seven months, and I still managed to do that. That's what this episode is for. That's what it's for. So thank you. Lesley Logan 4:45 All right, quick win of mine, I have been home for not even 24 hours by the time that this actually releases, maybe just 24 hours, and I'm so proud. The first thing I'm doing is getting a Pilates session in. I did that today. Getting my hair done. Yes, a win can be just self-care. It can actually just be showing up, because, you know what? I have a million things to do, so much to catch up on. I could tell you, when I'm on tour, I can barely keep up with a lot of the work that I normally do. I can only basically do the promo of the tour, teach the tour, and then sleep and hopefully get my workout in right. There's not a lot I could do outside of that, because it's just really hard to take calls. There's no signal. Sometimes internet doesn't work. Everything takes a little longer than you want, and so when I come back, I could literally go through the 17 million packages that showed up while we were gone, but we're not instead, I did my Pilates session, getting my hair done. Win, win, win. That's me. So you guys, it is my birthday month. I will have more wins coming up as I celebrate 42 but we're not there yet. Lesley Logan 5:44 So today I'm going to end this with your affirmation, keep moving forward. Keep moving forward. I don't know where this deck is. This one was gifted to me by Monica Linda, one of my dearest friends, and it's just keep moving forward. So, thank you all so much. You know what to do until next time, Be It Till You See It. Lesley Logan 6:06 That's all I got for this episode of the Be It Till You See It Podcast. Cait Maddan's free downloadable guide called “How to Hold Space for Suicide Talk” is just one key part of all the work that she does. As a doula with a focus on suicide, suicide ideation and the grievers who are left in the wake of a death, Cait does work that matters to us all. Where can we go to talk, in addition to 988 the suicide hotline? Why does it matter to make space for this topic and for chronic ideation? How can grievers be supported? We're talking about holding space for the “ugly” days—the ones where life just feels messy and whether we do the exact same thing as the day before, it's just one of those days. And if we need space for having an ugly day, so do our kids. Let's normalize the fact that you don't have to love everything, every single day. We need to stop fighting this feeling, there is always tomorrow or this afternoon. It's ok if it doesn't change. You can have bad days. Episode Summary: In today's episode, we're diving into the concept of holding space—what it means to be present for others and ourselves in moments of intense emotion without judgment, interruption, or the urge to fix. This is a core element of emotionally strong leadership, and it's foundational for creating authentic, lasting connections. Inspired by a powerful video of a dad holding space for his daughter's big emotions, we'll explore how this simple act can transform relationships and deepen our own emotional resilience. Holding space isn't just for others; it's also a skill we can cultivate to better support ourselves. Tune in to discover how to embrace this transformative practice in your own life. Topics Covered: What Does It Mean to Hold Space? We define what holding space truly means and why it's more than just being physically present. Learn why this practice involves active patience, empathy, and the ability to stay grounded. Why Holding Space Matters: Holding space creates a safe environment where people feel seen, accepted, and free to be themselves. For us, it's an opportunity to grow our own emotional resilience and practice deeper empathy and connection. Examples of Holding Space in Different Scenarios: Holding Space for Others' Emotions: How to be there for someone without jumping in to fix or solve. Holding Space for Ourselves: Learning how to be there for ourselves during difficult emotions without rushing to change or judge what we're feeling. Practical Tips to Start Holding Space Today: Discover simple techniques for cultivating this skill in your life, including grounding yourself, practicing non-judgmental listening, making room for silence, and fostering self-compassion. Key Takeaways: Holding space is an active choice to allow others (and ourselves) to experience emotions fully, without judgment or the need to fix. Emotionally strong leadership requires presence, patience, and stability. By practicing this with others, we create a space for genuine connection and trust. Holding space for ourselves can be deeply transformative, helping us embrace all parts of ourselves with compassion and acceptance. Action Steps: Reflect on how you currently respond to others' emotions. Are you quick to give advice or fix? Practice simply listening without needing to solve. Try holding space for yourself by setting aside time to sit with your emotions without judgment. Start with just a few minutes, acknowledging what you're feeling and allowing it to be there. Ground yourself with a few deep breaths next time someone shares something emotional. It will help you stay present and supportive without absorbing their energy. Quotes: “Holding space isn't passive—it's an active choice to set aside your own discomfort, your need to fix, and allow others to be as they are.” “Emotionally strong leadership begins with the willingness to hold space, both for ourselves and those we lead.” Show Notes: Here Connect with Me: Email: chantel@chantelallencoaching.com Website: www.chantelallencoaching.com Instagram:@chantelallencoaching If you're wanting to grab a 1:1 spot to learn how to connect more to yourself- sign up with this link here.

Do you like the idea of having a creative hobby but don't feel like you'd be good at it? I don't consider myself to be an artistic person, but the truth is, I never even attempt art, so how would I know? We live in a society that is obsessed with productivity and excellence, so we often don't give ourselves permission to try a new creative hobby just because we want to or because it feels relaxing or fun. This week hosts Tiffany Cross, Angela Rye, and Andrew Gillum ask themselves, is this show a safe space? This is a follow up from last week's MiniPod that got a liiittle heated. Welcome home y'all! —--------- We want to hear from you! Send us a video @nativelandpod and we may feature you on the podcast.
