Students exhibit awe, joy, and 100% engagement during nature-based activities, which positively impacts their overall well-being and readiness to engage in classroom learning. The program emphasizes learning outdoors, and its benefits are evident as students transition back into the classroom environment. Outcomes of the ProgramThe implementation of NBL has led to a noticeable culture shift within the school. Behavior referrals have decreased, and there are initial findings of academic growth. The school has also established an outdoor classroom and developed lessons that integrate with the district's curriculum, enhancing the learning experience. Goals for the FutureKyra is currently awaiting final approval to conduct research on the impact of NBL at her school in collaboration with a professor from SUNY Brockport. The program aims to meet the needs defined within the City of Rochester's Children and Outdoor Bill of Rights. Future goals include incorporating more teacher preparation programs with local universities, expanding the NBL program to other schools within the district and beyond, and creating a generation of Nature Ambassadors. One of my favourite suggestions from Kyra can be found around minute 37 when she talks about Nature Portraits and Nature Names! Social Emotional Learning (SEL) isn't what its promoters represent, but serves as a Trojan Horse for WOKE indoctrination. It's a kind of replacement parenting, where the government, operating through the public school counseling system, assumes the role of parent to teach values, ethics, decision making, and self‐management. SEL is to serve as a carefully disguised delivery vehicle for Marxist inspired Critical Theory. This can lead to stress and burnout. Imposter syndrome is common among entrepreneurial moms. Self-care is crucial - you can't pour from an empty cup. Balance is key but it ebbs and flows, so you have to find what works for you. Delegate tasks when possible to free up time and energy. Be fully present with family by disconnecting from devices. Topics: Challenges for Entrepreneurial Moms Common struggles are mom guilt and imposter syndrome. Moms want to be present for kids but also need to work. This causes stress and second-guessing abilities. The pandemic added challenges - moms juggling work while kids were home from school. Caused very long days and prolonged stress. Support is crucial but often lacking. Importance of Self-Care Can't pour from an empty cup - need to take care of yourself before others. Prolonged stress leads to burnout and chronic health issues. Approach yourself with curiosity instead of criticism. The world criticizes enough already. Achieving Balance Balance ebbs and flows, so find what works for you. Capitalize on strengths and passions. Prioritize and delegate. Ask for help when needed. Disconnect from devices to be fully present with family. Kids notice if you're distracted. Well-rounded self-care is key: care for family, care for work, care for self. You spend the most time with yourself.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is so important for all of us, especially young kids and adding music into the equation makes it more fun, engaging and memorable. I love the music that my guests today are sharing with kids, teachers, parents and caretakers. “Acoustic Kindie Rock band “Narwhals and Waterfalls” consists of Singer-Songwriters Paige Bell and Adrien Palmer. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, they have both taught music to children ages 0 to 5th grade. In 2018, they connected over their passion to write creative, original songs for kids, that would be enjoyable for both kids and grown-ups alike. N&W strives to write simple SEL that align with children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. So whether you're a professional educator, a stay-at-home parent, a family friend or any other kind of teacher, N&W's music promotes learning and movement, and will enhance your “student's” life.In this conversation we talk about how Paige & Adrien met, what got them into making Children's music, how being a parent has changed how they create and teach and how they're helping other parents and educators through their music and SEL resources. This isn't just another episode about education and parenting. We expose the hidden agenda behind SEL and its occult roots. You'll be astounded to learn how it's being used not just as a teaching tool, but as an indoctrination system, replacing the teachings of the church and parents with a New World interfaith religion. New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 65 One of the hottest topics in education (and beyond) right now is "resilience." Youth mental health initiatives are being launched and entrenched all over the country, not just through school counseling but also through Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives, and their goal almost always includes "fostering emotional resilience." What is meant by "resilience" in the Woke Marxist context, though? We know it must mean something. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay draws from a UNESCO source (https://mgiep.unesco.org/article/sel-for-sdgs-why-social-and-emotional-learning-is-necessary-to-achieve-the-sustainable-development-goals) and explains that "resilience" refers to the opposite of "fragility," which means taking your brainwashing well. The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Episode 112 Like virtually everything in Woke Marxism, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is sold through lies and deception. The packaging is always pretty. What's in the box is always a catastrophe. While this rule is consistent across everything Woke, it reaches something of a staggering peak where it comes to SEL. "It's just about teaching kids to manage their emotions and develop the social skills necessary to succeed in the workplace of the future and to get along with people in a diverse world." No, it isn't. In this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay goes through a recent low-quality article (https://iowastartingline.com/2023/02/13/explainer-what-sel-really-is-and-why-this-senator-wants-to-ban-it) defending Social-Emotional Learning in Iowa after state Senator Sandy Salmon introduced a bill to ban it from the state Department of Education. His purpose is to expose the lies and damned lies constantly used to defend and promote SEL in a real-world example. New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 39 Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is a dangerous scam being forced into our education system at every level and in every possible way. How are they doing it, though? Among the techniques they're using to ram SEL deeper and deeper into school districts against all sense and without real evidence is what might be called the "SEL Cycle." What happens in this fraudulent circular approach is that SEL is used as a justification to gather survey data from students in their schools. That survey data is then massaged and interpreted through equity, inclusion, and sustainability lenses to identify shortcomings in what's happening in the schools according to those ideological interpretations. Those "shortcomings" are then leveraged to demand more SEL, more DEI training, and more Woke Marxism. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay breaks down the way this fraudulent scam operates so that we can put a stop to it.
