Here's a summary of the survey comments on how knitters use patterns and track their progress: People have a preference for paper but lots use digital tools. A recurring theme was the desire to keep knitting as an analog, screen-free hobby. There are lots of creative tools for counting rows. People use highlighter tape, rulers, sticky notes, hand-drawn grid boxes, safety pin chains, a 10-sided die, and even moving a stitch marker along keyboard number keys. We also seem to realize that our systems are imperfect. We don't keep enough or the right kind of notes. We have unsorted stacks of printed patterns, notes we struggle to decode later, or no real system at all. Ravelry is a partial solution to this but doesn't work for everyone. Color Work Along Prizes Listen to the episode to see if you are a winner! Marsha's Projects Trillium Lake by Kay Hopkins: Using Queensland Collection Coastal Cotton Fine. Knit about 8" of the body and completed the increases. Wabi Sabi Tee by Katia: Using Concept by Katia Wabi Sabi. Knit about 12" of the body. Another ½ inch and I'll start ribbing. Patio Furniture Pads: I have finished four round cushions for metal chairs. I think the mis-matched fabric looks good. Next is to sew the cover for the chaise lounge. I have two wooden folding chairs that belonged to my parents. I plan to paint in the same dark green as the table and chairs and recover in the large yellow and white striped fabric. Also have materials to make cushions for chairs. Sewing Class: Attended part two. Garden Redesign: I've created a project page. Kelly's Projects Continuing on my second Boxy with spirit yarn (Shibui Pebble). I have the fronts redone and connected. I'm just knitting stockinette for several inches before I join the front and back under the arms. Tablet (card) weaving for Pride Month: This band will become a dog collar and two key chains for my sisters-in-law. Continuing with spinning the naturally dyed wool from last fall: Dyed the last batches of the CA Red fleece with fig leaves and with ceanothus leaves trying to get a green. The fig gave a slightly green tinted yellow. I had used this before on a skein of polwarth but even quadrupling the grams of fig leaves didn't make the color more saturated. The ceanothus ended up giving another tan color. Natural dyeing can be disappointing. Fleece washing: About 2 lbs of Corriedale came out of the suint bath and is ready for a hot wash. About 3.5 lbs of light silver Romney went into the suint bath and has been there for about a week. I also spent a day washing about 3 lbs of Jazzman that had come out of the suint bath. There was a white section, a light gray section, and a darker gray section. The darker gray is still a little greasy so I may end up soaking it one more time to get more of the lanolin out. Events Summer Spin In: now through September 7th (Labor Day) Tour de Fleece: July 4th- July 26th Newbury School of Weaving: July 18-31, 2026

Te Puke has its kiwifruit. Ohakune, the giant carrot. Given the extent to which I've droned on and on and on and on about it this year, you'd barely bat an eyelid if you were to pull up at my place sometime soon, only to discover I'd erected an ostentatious 7-metre high fibreglass pomegranate in my front yard. It's been a journey for all of us, this pomegranate. Truth be told, when my mates bought me a pomegranate shrub as a housewarming gift three years ago, I didn't really expect it would ever have fruit. I'm not a very handy gardener. The soil at my place is the gluggiest clay. And besides, I've never seen a fruiting pomegranate tree in my life, let alone in New Zealand. But the pomegranate didn't just take. It flowered in its first summer. And the next. Just one or two bright-red, delicate, pear-shaped little flowers at the end of its spindly branches. It grew taller, more confident and established. And when my wife asked that I move the tree to make way for a new gate, I waited until late Autumn to give it the best chance of surviving, carefully dug up its root ball and found a spot in the northern-most corner of our property. I thought that'd be it. The move would put it back for a few years. But I returned from a week away over summer and could barely suppress my delight. The pomegranate had flowered and the flower had been pollinated. Like a green little tomato perched right at the very top of the tree, my pomegranate had its first fruit. Since then, it has been a fastidious operation. Every Monday morning, I've fed my plant a combination of citrus fertiliser and worm juice. I've fought off ants and other insects whom I worried might be burrowing in and ransacking its lustrous little pearls. As summer has passed and the single fruit has grown weightier, I've become increasingly concerned about the structural stability of the whole affair. Imagine an orange hanging off one of the weaker parts of a Christmas tree. It felt almost like it might snap off. With the help of our nine-year-old, I took some twine and jerry-rigged a make-shift support. The pomegranate kept growing. Having the nine-year-old involved has been a big part of my fun. After all, the reason my friends bought us a pomegranate shrub and not a feijoa or a lemon tree is that my wife is Persian. Pomegranates originate on the Iranian plateau. As much as molasses might be a staple in Ottolenghi recipes, pomegranates will have been a treasured fruit for generations of our children's ancestors. As our single red globe has grown larger over the last few months, the nine-year-old has begun touring visiting friends and family through the northern corner of our property. Here is the basil. Here is the spinach. Here is our family's pomegranate. Outside of the kids' ancestry and the exoticism of its origin, the simplest justification for our pomegranate obsession is that gardening is fun. Or if not fun, relaxing. I've really come to savour it. Even if I'm just weeding or cleaning up dead leaves and scraps, I find if surprisingly nourishing to go outside, chuck on a podcast, and potter about with my hands in the dirt. One thing I've learnt though is it's hard to know when to pick a pomegranate. There are YouTube clips and various online explainers, but colour isn't the only indicator. Shape is even more important. Boxy is good. You can flick it and try to judge the sound. Several listeners have emailed me to warn that although pomegranate plants at their places did manage to grow fruit, the fruit never fully ripened. They couldn't get it sweet. On Monday I finally pulled the trigger. One swift cut, through the stem. The family gathered around the dining table for the moment of truth. I sliced through the membrane and oxblood-coloured juice spilled out over the bench. I pulled apart the fruit and scooped the little rubies into a bowl. Together we each took a spoonful. “Whatever this tastes like,” I said. “I don't think we've yet got a commercially viable crop.” We drew the spoons to our lips. It was tart. It was tangy. It was sweet. It was delicious. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Interview with Thomas Lamb, CEO of Myriad Uranium Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/myriad-uranium-csem-60-boost-to-potential-100-mlbs-wyoming-project-7466Recording date: 4th September 2025Myriad Uranium (CSE:M) represents a compelling investment opportunity in the rapidly evolving uranium sector, where technological advancement and market dynamics have created significant value creation potential. The company's flagship Copper Mountain project in Wyoming has undergone a transformative resource upgrade through modern measurement techniques, with CEO Thomas Lamb reporting that advanced gamma probe technology and laboratory assaying have delivered 50-60% grade improvements over historical estimates established in the 1970s.The technological advantage stems from replacing outdated Delayed Fission Neutron probes with modern gamma probe technology, revealing substantially higher uranium concentrations than previously recognized. Laboratory assays have confirmed these improvements, with grades above 1,000 ppm showing 60% boosts and those above 500 ppm demonstrating 50% increases. This upgrade positions the project's resource estimate significantly above the historical 15-30 million pound baseline, with expansion potential to 65 million pounds through surrounding prospects and ultimate potential of 200 million pounds according to US Department of Energy assessments.Market dynamics have shifted decisively in Myriad's favor as operational challenges at high-profile ISR projects have created investor skepticism toward in-situ recovery methods. Fund managers are now explicitly seeking conventional mining projects, with Lamb noting that sentiment has transformed from questioning conventional approaches to actively pursuing them. This preference shift provides Myriad with a significant competitive advantage, as the Copper Mountain project's geology supports conventional mining in the northern section while maintaining ISR optionality in the southern portion. The company's strategic consolidation through its planned merger with Rush Rare Metals will eliminate joint venture complexity while adding complementary assets. Currently holding an option to earn 75% of Copper Mountain, the merger will provide 100% ownership while incorporating Rush's high-grade Boxy project in Quebec, which contains 11% uranium and up to 27% niobium grades. This transaction exemplifies the "1 plus 1 equals three" value creation potential in the current uranium market.Myriad's Red Basin project in New Mexico has emerged as an unexpected value creator following the state's emergence as a nuclear technology hub. Acquired for just $525,000 Canadian, the project now attracts significant attention from major technology companies including Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, which are pursuing uranium supply partnerships to support data center and AI computing infrastructure. The convergence of Los Alamos National Laboratory expertise, state-level funding initiatives, and private technology investment is creating a unique development ecosystem. With $2.5 million in cash, Myriad maintains sufficient capital for immediate strategic objectives through a capital-efficient validation strategy. The company plans to conduct approximately eight targeted infill holes in Copper Mountain's central pit area to establish grade upgrades definitively before expanding to peripheral prospects. This methodology provides maximum leverage from limited drilling while building investor confidence in broader resource potential. The company's positioning as a US-focused uranium producer with assets in Wyoming and New Mexico aligns with domestic supply chain security objectives, positioning for potential strategic partnerships or acquisition scenarios. Management's plan to migrate toward US exchange listings could unlock significant valuation multiples while providing enhanced liquidity for investors seeking exposure to the uranium sector recovery.View Myriad Uranium's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/myriad-uraniumSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

The guys open the show talking about the plane crash in Brooklyn Park over the weekend, and other things going on. Then it's on to the nights beers, and a dive into the Loons victory over RSL. They discuss the lineup, Boxy on the bench due to exhaustion, the conditions on the pitch, a great goal by Tani, Pereyra finally in the right position, booing RSL players, Tani get's a brace, and holding on for the shutout. They then make their predictions regarding the upcoming match versus NYCFC, which is followed by some MN soccer history. They end the podcast with a story about a church who thought their communion bread might be sacred, but it turned out to be just bacteria & fungus.
Rok 2024 bol pre spoločnosť Packeta rekordný. Nielenže zaznamenala významný nárast tržieb, ale tiež upevnila svoju pozíciu lídra v doručovaní zásielok mimo domova. Trend rastu kapacít a samoobslužných Z-BOXov pritom ešte zďaleka nekončí, zaznieva z podastu, ktorý vznikol v spolupráci s komerčným partnerom v rámci seriálu We Know How

You know the saying: They don't build them like they used to. When it comes to homes and buildings, that's usually said like it's a bad thing. But with a changing climate and changing marketplace, building things like we used to — brick by brick, nail by nail — just doesn't cut it any more. Enter modular construction. The idea isn't totally unheard of. Prefabricated buildings have been around for decades. But New Iberia's Tiago Atwi and his brother have brought a new twist on the concept with their comany, Boxy Construction. Boxy designs and delivers steel framed, modular structures for residential and commercial construction. Think of it like real-life legos. Boxy ships all the parts you need, pre-fabricated with the fastenings and holes you need to set up the building quickly. Tiago is a mechanical engineer by trade and worked on wind turbines out of college, getting his start on modular construction for a company based in Atlanta. He decided to bring the concept home to New Iberia where he grew up. And Boxy was born. It's not just building standards that have changed. They don't make soap like they used to either. Ebony Robert figured that out when her son had a stubborn case of eczema. On a trip back home to visit family in Orlando, her great grandmother encouraged her to make him some old fashioned lye soap. It worked. And suddenly, Ebony had a good problem on her hands: she needed to make a lot more soap. That journey led her to founding Ebony's Beauty Hair and Skin Care. By 2015, she was selling her products in stores and online. In 2018, she opened a storefront in Lafayette's Northgate mall. The brand has grown tremendously. Ebony's products are sold by Amazon, Walmart and carried by Doordash. Her shop carries about 3,000 different beauty and wellness products. But her handmade soaps are still the star of the show — and Ebony still mixes, labels and ships them all herself. In 2020, Ebony opened the Entrepreneurship Learning Academy to help others learn how to run businesses. Out to Lunch Acadiana was recorded live over lunch at Tsunami Sushi in downtown Lafayette.
