In this episode the boys are just about on the edge of control as they take a in depth look at Remedy's newest title Control as well as wonder just how erotic a floor plan can truly be? They also catch up on the hottest news from this year's Gamescom event in Germany plus take a look at some good old analogue gameing fun with Tiny Epic Zombies. There's also tonnes of chat about Radiant Historia, Destiny, Gears POP, Bloodstain, Man of Medan as well as maybe the fastest review of Vigor ever! And if that's not enough fun our old friend OG Pikachu drops by to say hello too all of this and much much more in this bumper episode of the Dark Insight podcast
Hello listeners! It's me, Jeremy, returning from my retirement to host a very special episode of Dark Insight. This week me, Charles, Bryan, and Cliff (yes Cliff!) are joined by special guests Dianna and Suvesh to talk about From's latest game, Sekiro. This is a spoilercast, so we talk about late game bosses, areas, endings, and everything in between. It was a great time and I'm happy Dark Insight let me come back and hang out for awhile. Be sure to check the links so you can follow everyone! Enjoyed those dope Sekiro raps at the front and back of the cast? Well good news, that's our friend Jake Lionheart, and you can get both of those songs, and several more, RIGHT HERE (https://jakelionheart.bandcamp.com/album/sekiro-way-of-the-wolf). Share it with your friends! Special Guests: Dianna and Suvesh.
This week's guest is Rach, who I met from my friends over at Dark Insight (http://www.darkinsight.net). She guested over there for an episode and started talking about Souls, so of course they pointed her my way and I got her on the show. We take a meandering path down her Souls journey, really getting into Bloodborne (of course) but talking about all the games. Thanks for listening! Don't Give Up, Skeleton is on Patreon (https://patreon.com/dontgiveupskeleton), which is a great way to support the show if you can. Donations go to keeping the podcast bills paid, as well as my ever growing collection of Souls games. You can also support the show by leaving an iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/dont-give-up-skeleton/id1106166382?mt=2) review, or by sharing the podcast with your friends. Merch! Who's that on the podcast? Why it's our old pal Trent Reznor, the lead singer of Korn? Tool? No, I think it's Nine Inch Nails. Anyway, actually it's Jeremy Greer! Former host, current guest, forever friend. We spend most of this podcast talking about Dark Souls y'all.
The most erotic episode of Dark Insight yet.
Welcome to another episode of Dark Insight. In this episode we talk about Jeff Gerstmann's status as a fashion icon, if it's the best time to be a gamer, and who witnessed the most powerful console of all time. Also, Vita means life! Sea of Thieves sucks, and everyone knows the Gamecube > Xbox One X. Special Guest: Kassandra.
It's been a little while, but here we are with another episode of Dark Insight! First off, we planned to release 2 episodes this week, but technical issues resulted in one of those episodes being postponed until the near future. Unfortunately, at the time of this particular recording, everything was still full steam ahead, and thus Josh does mention the aforementioned second episode during this recording...to discover after the fact that this was not the case. Please bear with us, in this grand old age of communication we are still finding the odds stack against us occasionally. What can we say? You've gotta love it, eh? Anyway! Due to the aforementioned scheduling, it's just Josh and Vader this week. Vader was even on holiday, proving once again, beyond a shadow of doubt, that he is the most professional out of the whole team! Part of Vader's holiday included a visit to Pax, and he shares tales of games including, but not limited to Code Vein, Sinner, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Dumb Ways To Die VR (yes, that's apparently a thing), and more that I cannot remember for the life of me. Trust me, it's a great chat! Josh also has plenty to say, including a TONNE of love for Blade Runner 2049 due to his obsession having reached fever pitch. There's also a quick mention of the beautiful, yet unforgiving Cuphead, an incredibly brief tip of the hat to the opening section of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, a scenic route journey around South Park: The Stick of Truth and the many controversies that come with it, and a bit of a rant about the train wreck that was The Evil Within 2. Well that's how Josh feels about it, anyway. Thanks for listening, apologies for the episode that was made out of invisible ink, and we'll be back with you in the near future! @darkinsightpod @vadervanodin @MorbidBeard Outro music: Chinese Restaurant from Timespliiters. Remember Timesplitters? Game was badass!
It is time for another episode of Dark Insight. This time, we are joined by Cameron Swarbrick and we go on roughly one million tangents. I hope that you like this, the episode of Dark Insight I am presenting you with today. We discuss the origins and various incarnations of The Thing. On this episode we are joined by Josh Crowe, one of the hosts from the podcast Dark Insight. Links of Note: @Ninjabadger7 @Nighttwitten @SentionautPlus @Morbidbeard Darkinsight.net The Things by Peter Watts Special Guest: Josh Crowe.
Welcome to another episode of Dark Insight! This week Jeremy and Vader are joined by Dylan, who you might know by his electronic musician project: bansheebeat. They talk about gross movies, weird fetishes caused by Pixar movies, sexy golf games, and of course, the weather. Thanks to Dylan for guesting, and if you like the song at the end of the show, go check out the rest of Dylan's music. Special Guest: bansheebeat.
Welcome back to another episode of Dark Insight! This week, join a solo hosting Vader and special guest Dave from the Monster Dear Monster and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Podcast shows! I didn't listen to this episode but based on the cover art and show notes it looks like they talked about Destiny 2, Knack 2, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Whatever, Warframe, and Jeremy as Gambit. I hope to enjoy this episode along with all of you! As always, you can find the show at https://darkinsight.net, and we're on Twitter at https://twitter.com/darkinsightpod. Dave can be found at https://twitter.com/SentionautPlus, and his shows at https://twitter.com/mondmonster and https://twitter.com/CTHPod. Give him a follow and give the shows a listen, they're outstanding. Special Guest: Dave Cox.
Hello and welcome to the biggest Dark Insight ever. Not in terms of length, but in terms of girth. We have FIVE people on this week's podcast. Jeremy hosts this week along with podcast regulars Josh and Bryan, along with two special guests: Rachel and Alex from the Rachel and Alex vs the Whoniverse podcast! We all sit down for a long chat about video games and movies. Just a taste: Overwatch, Observer, Persona 5, Cultist Simulator, Hellblade, Get Even, Rainbow Six Siege, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, Absolver, the Dark Souls Board Game, McPixel, and Pyre. On top of all those games, we also talk about It Follows, Death Note (the new one), and Baby Driver! Thanks for listening everyone! Be sure to check out Rachel and Alex vs the Whoniverse: https://vsthewhoniverse.fireside.fm/ Special Guests: Alex and Rachel.
Hurricanes, road trips, new jobs, old jobs...lots of things conspired to keeping most of the Dark Insight hosts off the podcast this week. Luckily, Vader stepped up with a great idea: he would record himself interviewing his son, Odin! The result is an absolute delight of an episode. Vader and Odin talks about the weather, the news, and the games they've been playing before sli-sli-sli-slipping into the DMs to answer some listener questions. Thanks for listening everyone!
The podcast slingshot is primed and ready to fire another episode of Dark Insight at ya! After the break last week we return for another show, where an exhausted Cliff returns and is joined by a knackered Josh and a groggy Vader (who'd only just got out of bed, like a champ) to discuss some vidya gaems. There's a brief discussion regarding the travesty that was the Mighty No. 9 physical Kickstarter mix up, how the Switch appears to be out-doing everybody's expectations by selling a ridiculous amount of units, Josh details his trip to London Comic Con and Cliff was lucky enough to be given the first 2 episodes of the new Little Nightmares comic. There's also a quick bit of follow up regarding Jalaid and the, frankly, heart warming response to that. Thank you to each and every person who was involved, even to the most minute degree. Just a tiny amount of effort and make the world of difference. We then get into the game chat, where we talk about Destiny 2, The Sexy Brutale, Late Shift, Splatoon 2, Thumper and Batman: The Telltale series. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the listener feedback so we're planning on bundling what we already have with what we get next week, don't you worry! Thank you for listening, be sure to check out darkinsight.net for all of our episodes; as well as links to all hosts and every guest thus far. If you like what you hear and you have time, why not leave us an iTunes review? Every single review helps us get just a little bit closer to being noticed by more people and we appreciate every one we get! See you next week for another episode! We're back with another Dark Insight, so pull up a chair in front of this lovely fire, grab yourself a biscuit, maybe give the lovely dog a pat on the head to reassure it that it's in good company...and relax! This week, Josh and Vader are joined by the fantastic Matt from Monster Dear Monster! Together, the 3 of them discuss the weather, and how an 800 watt microwave is enough to shrivel the U.K. to a blubbering mess, then it's onto the news! A smattering of topics are talked about, including but not limited to the new Castlevania Netflix series, some juicy deets on Nintendo's online service proposal, and how a honeymoon ruined somebody's gamer score. I know, imagine that, digital achievements being upset by a truly wonderful event! You just couldn't write it! Then it's onto the game chat, where they talk about MGSV (surprising no-one, this was Josh's doing, he couldn't help himself) as well as TrackMania Turbo, Diablo 3, Killer Instinct, Injustice 2, Berserk and the Band of the Hawk, Eternal, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Oceanhorn, Nier Automata, Ancient Amuletor VR..then they finally round off with a little game called Shadow of the Colossus! It's a fun packed show! Thank you everybody for listening, please seek us out on Twitter, at darkinsight.net and iTunes or your podcast app of choice to subscribe and leave us a rating. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's Superma...no wait, that's not quite right. It is, however, a new episode of Dark Insight! This week, hosts Josh and Bryan are joined by friend of the show and debut guest, Dave Cox, who hosts the Monster Dear Monster and Crouching Tiger Hidden Podcast shows, both of which are very much worth listening to! After the customary weather report, we discuss the (unsurprising, yet still bold) news that Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered is getting a stand alone release, the fact that Atari is due to be releasing a brand new piece of hardware, Josh flies off the handle about Hitman, YET AGAIN, and urges people to play it because he's a broken record. Please play it. We also mention the Steam sale and how nobody has any money left now. After a quick check in with Josh's thoughts on E3, we get into what we've been playing which includes The Surge, Black, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Monolith, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Friday the 13th and last, but not least, Sine Mora. Breathe! Then it's onto listener feedback where lovely members of our community tell us what their favourite monsters in games are. It's an action packed show and we think you'll enjoy it! Thanks to everyone for listening, please be sure to subscribe and leave us a rating on iTunes as it really helps us out, and you can find all of our social media stuff, as well as links to all the guests we've had on thus far, at darkinsight.net and we'll see you with a new episode next week! Also, if you've read this far, it's worth noting that Jeremy usually writes these up but this time it's Josh doing it. As a direct consequence of this, there's no spelling mistakes present hahahaha. Special Guest: Dave Cox.
Oh my lord this is the third Dark Insight this week! On this episode special guest Jala Prendes (from The Level (http://www.thelevelpodcast.com/)!) joins Bryan and Jeremy to talk about some dang video games. No E3 chat, though, since we already did that. Instead we talk about the future of Hitman, Bryan's obsession with roguelikes, and Jeremy's progression through Nier Automata. Plus, TONS OF OTHER GAMES. It's like gaming Christmas over here. Check the links below for everything we chat about! Special Guest: Jala Prendes.
Standing at the shore, you look around, devastated. There's no gaming news on this island. No IGN, no polygon...god, there isn't even any Kotaku. Just you and your frankly depressing lack of insight into games. If you had known this was going to happen, you would have held onto that WSJ article about Nintendo's earnings while the ship was crashing into this godforsaken place....but wait. What's that? Over there, under the conch shell? Is that...my god, it's a podcast. Even better: it's a gaming podcast. It's episode mother%^&*ing 60 of the Dark Insight podcast! Dang! Even better, it has three main hosts: Josh, the beardiest guy in gaming. Vader, the nicest guy in gaming. Bryan. Wait? Who's Bryan? Forget that, though, your favorite guest, Stephen, is back! You quickly remove the post it note from the back of the podcast to read the notes: holy *&$% this is going to be good. Your boix talk about all sorts of stuff this episode: Far Cry 5, Dragon's Dogma, Castlevania, The Surge...your eyes glaze over as you read through the topics, but focus again on the last bit: LISTENER FEEDBACK. "Stupid crashed ship," you think, "I could have responded to this if I wasn't on this stupid island." You sit down, nestle the podcast behind your ears so you can hear it clearly, and wait for the inevitable rescue boat to appear. Special Guest: Stephen Veilleux.
Who's that doing the intro? Why, it's Bryan Wade. That's right, frequent guest and all around cool guy Bwade has become a full time member of Dark Insight. What does that mean for you, the listener? Not much! You'll still get the same great show, week after week, weather update after weather update. This week Bryan, Cliff, and Jeremy (who is FINALLY back this week!) talk about some news, including the Destiny 2 and Life is Strange 2 announcements. Then it's on to video games, and-you know what, I'll just let you be surprised when you get there. Enjoy the episode everyone. Dark Insight (http://www.darkinsight.net) is your home for all the previous episodes, links to our social media, and our blog, which has reviews and articles from friends of the show.
Welcome back to Dark Insight! This week, VaderVanOdin and Josh (the moribidest of beards) are joined with frequent guest and noted Space Wizard Bryan Wade to talk about the things they love: VIDEO GAMES. First up is the news, which is mostly about Hitman going away (aw, man), Alan Wake disappearing (aw, man) and Mass Effect possibly not getting more games (oh well). Then it's right into games, including but not limited to: Mario Kart, Little Nightmares, Outlast 2, Flinthook, and Prey. Finally, we round the episode with a bunch of YOUR FEEDBACK. Thanks everyone for listening, everyone! Be sure to check out Dark Insight (http://www.darkinsight.net) for links to previous episodes, profiles on our hosts and guests, and our blog full of interesting and entertaining articles. Special Guest: Bryan Wade.
A new podcast is here. It's been given to you, the subscriber to the RSS feed. You read the notes, and aren't surprised: another quality episode from the Dark Insight crew. This episode is full of goodness, some talk about the news ("why the heck does Microsoft need to put a FPS counter on the front of it's new console?" you wonder), some chat about games ("alright, more Nier chat, Cliff chats about his review of Outlast 2, and Vader is heavy on the switch!"). What's this? There's a new guest? You smile. Guests are sometimes the best parts of the show. This week it's NinjaBadger7 (https://twitter.com/NinjaBadger7), a fan of the show for quite some time, and all around cool guy. "Damn," you think, "this is a cool podcast." Be sure to check out Dark Insight (https://www.darkinsight.net) for previous episodes, profiles on our hosts and guests, plus blog articles from our friends. It's GREAT. Special Guest: Matt.
Ah, here it is. Another Dark Insight episode. A smooth, two hour ear refreshment to get you through your workday, your jog, or maybe even just to lay on the couch and forget about the world for awhile. Let the soothing tones of Josh Crowe, VaderVanOdin, and returning guest James Carter take you on a magical journey. It's going to be a long and interesting trip this week, since there's a new Nintendo console AND a new Call of Duty game to talk about. "What about things I can play now?" you ask, and I understand, you need some peace in this crazy world. Our hosts are here for you as well, chatting about games like Killer is Dead, Kamiko, Graceful Explosion Machine, Full Throttle HD, Mr. Shifty, Mario Kart, (takes deep breath), Condemned, Skulls of the Shogun, and Yooka Laylee. That's right, folks, we have enough games chat on this episode to let you ignore reality for a good, long time. Please enjoy. Be sure to check out James' twitter (https://twitter.com/CarterCommaJ), and the two podcasts he hosts: the incredible Cane and Rinse (https://caneandrinse.com/) and Retrofit (http://retrofitpod.net/). Dark Insight (http://darkinsight.net) is your place to find previous episodes, social media links for hosts and guests, plus great articles about video games you won't find anywhere else. Special Guest: James Carter.
Finally! Dark Insight is covering Persona 5. We had to bring on a special guest to do it, but we did it. Jessica walks us through the basics of the game, but don't worry, we don't really get into spoiler territory. Cliff is back to talk about Nier, Josh swoops in to talk about Killer 7 (warning: he sort of hates it), and Jeremy bemoans the fact that he doesn't have time to play games anymore. We also talk about Nintendo's success with the Switch, Remedy developing games for PS4, that dumb #PrepareToDine trailer, and of course, the weather. Special Guest: Jessica.
This week's Dark Insight features an old school lineup, with Cliff, Vader, and Jeremy sit down and talk about some video games. Mostly Zelda, to be fair. First up: we announce the results of our photoshop contest to win the Zelda: Art and Artifacts book, then we talk about some news, then we talk about Splatoon 2, then we FINALLY talk about some Zelda. WHEW. Enjoy the episode, and we'll be back next week to talk about the new Dark Souls 3 DLC.
This week is the 50th episode of Dark Insight, so we had our listeners send in a BUNCH of questions for us to answer. Vader, Josh, and special guest Suvesh also talk about the Switch, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch, Horizon Zero Dawn, and MORE. Thanks to everyone who wrote in, and double-thanks to every one for listening. We love you! Suvesh on Twitter: https://twitter.com/mysticreferee86 Special Guest: Suvesh.
Everyone but Vader took the week off, but Vader decided to bring on two guests and do a dang podcast anyway. He's joined by frequent guest of the show Stephen, and a brand new guest to Dark Insight, Chris Mosher. You may know Chris from things like "anime" and "final fantasy 8 message boards. The boys sit down and chat about a BUNCH of video games. We get our usual checkins on Nioh and Stardew Valley, but they also discuss Beserk, Breath of the Wild, Resident Evil 7 DLC, and a LOT LOT more. Thanks for listening everyone! Links! This week on Dark Insight, our good friend Sean (aka TheLoreHunter) stops by to talk about Nioh with Vader and Josh. Where's Cliff and Jeremy? Who cares?! You don't need those guys on the show every week. Sean also keeps up with the Stardew Valley chat, on top of stuff the new Zelda DLC announcement, the Surge, Crash Bandicoot, and of course, listener feedback. Did Sean continually bring up Dark Souls lore during the Nioh discussion? I don't know! I haven't listened yet! Thanks to everyone who wrote in! We love reading and discussing your responses on the show. Sean's links: https://twitter.com/TheLoreHunter https://t.co/8Wlv2THCFV Check out www.darkinsight.net for all the links and info you'd ever need. Special Guest: The Lore Hunter.
Dark Insight is here to talk about the latest "Soulslike" taking the gaming world by storm: Nioh! Josh, Vader, Jeremy, and returning guest Katherine sit down and talk about games, and not just Ni-oh either. We also chat Watch_Dogs 2, Shadow Tactics, Hitman, Day of the Tentacle, Resident Evil 7, Fire Emblem Heroes, Stardew Valley (take a drink!), For Honor, and oh yeah, lots and lots about Nioh. Don't worry spoiler-phobes, we make sure not to really get into the plot too much, and the Ni-oh segment is after a music break you can't miss. On this week's Dark Insight, things get DIFFICULT. Cliff, Vader, and Jeremy sit down to talk about the usual stuff: the weather, Cliff's wife having a baby during the podcast, games we've been playing, and finally: why are games so freakin' HARD nowadays? Inspired by his frustration at Resident Evil 7, Cliff took to twitter to do what he does best: Angry Rants on the Internet. We decided to turn that into something more productive, and talk about what makes a game difficult, and how we respond to games that don't give you many difficulty options. We asked our listeners for their thoughts, and BOY did they come through. Lots of listener emails in this one. www.darkinsight.net for all the links to the show you can shake a stick at
Join us for Dark Insight 42, hosted by Josh Crowe aka Moribdbeard aka Your Majesty Beard. Jeremy joins Josh and pulled in special guest Stephen Veilleux for a long conversation about our favorite topic: VIDEO GAMES. Josh and Stephen talk about a bunch of FPS games they've been playing (like Doom, Call of Duty, Dishonored, Titanfall 2, etc), and Jeremy just talks about the only thing he's been playing for the last week: Stardew Valley. If you've been watching our twitter account, you already know this, but here's a heads up: we've moved! Episodes will no longer be available via SoundCloud, but don't worry, you can still stream and download them all from our website: https://www.darkinsight.net. We’re back! This week’s guest is VaderVanOdin, my podcast buddy from Dark Insight. We get all into Vader’s Souls history, including his brother being a bit of a back seat driver on Demon’s Souls. It’s always a blast sitting down and talking to Vader; he’s literally the nicest man in podcasting. Fair warning: when this was recorded I was still using Zencastr, and there are a few parts where the VOIP connection broke down and Vader turns into a robot (queue all of your funny Star Wars jokes). It’s not terrible, but it wasn’t something I could edit around. Sorry about that! Join your intrepid host, Bryan Wade, and special guest Jeremy Greer as they read and discuss the 1991 Timothy Zahn classic, Heir to the Empire. Will Jeremy make it through the entire book? Can he pronounce ysalamiri? How big is his crush on Grand Admiral Thrawn? All this and more awaits you on this episode of Expanded Universe! Jeremy's podcasts are Dark Insight, Days of Future Cast, Don't Give Up, Skeleton, and Monster of the Week. You can find links to all of his shows on his Twitter account, https://twitter.com/jggreer. It’s time for a new episode of Dark Insight! Once again Cliff and Jeremy have abandoned the podcast, so Vader has to step up and host this week. He’s joined by frequent guest hosts Bryan and Kyle, and they have what sounds like a delightful time. I don’t know, I haven’t listened yet. Hopefully they don’t just call me the Worst for 2 hours. According to their notes, though, they talked about the Nintendo Switch, Zelda BOTW, tons of VR games, Mario Run, Let it Die, FFXV, and LOTS more. Plus: listener questions! Special Guests: Bryan Wade and Kyle Cerk.
Hello there! We have another fun packed episode of Dark Insight for you lovely people! This week we are joined by Jala Prendes from The Level podcast, a show that’s part of the well loved Duckfeed.tv network! Jala was a great guest, and an all round lovely person to chat to, we had a lot of fun nattering away! PLEASE BE AWARE, THERE IS A SLIGHT UNCHARTED 4 SPOILER AT ABOUT 19:37* This week we talked about The Game Awards, PSX, and the announcements that came with both of those; as well as a little bit of Nintendo Switch news, along with a somewhat lengthy discussion about games we’ve played which includes the following: Let It Die, Final Fantasy XV, Dishonored 2, Hatoful Boyfriend Holiday Star, followed by a rather hyperbolic rant about Bloodborne, and rounded off with some fantastic responses from our wonderful community! As always we appreciate any and all love from all of you, so please rate and subscribe to us on any podcast feed you happen to use, find us on our website, darkinsight.net, Soundcloud, Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter, search for @darkinsightpod. It’s a week of firsts here at Dark Insight. Episode 36 is the first episode Josh has ever hosted, and the first time we have had Katherine (@HumanityUpgrade on Twitter) on the show! Bear with us through some audio difficulties, and you’ll get to hear us chat about the weather, No Man’s Sky, FFXV, Dishonored (1 AND 2!), Call of Duty, and a bunch of retro/horror games on top of that. We’ll be back next week with more Dark Insight! There’s big news for Dark Insight this week as we are joined by our new host (!), Mr. Josh Crowe, aka Morbid Beard. You know Josh, he’s been on this show a number of times and he’s probably the most delightful man on Twitter. With Josh as a host we are moving the show to a WEEKLY format! That’s right, you’ll have a brand spanking new episode of Dark Insight each week, with a wide range of guests and topics. Don’t worry, though, Cliff, Jeremy, and Vader will always be around. None of that stuff matters, though, because we talked about GAMES this week: Titanfall 2, Destiny, Dark Souls 1, Dungeon Warfare, Batman Return to Arkham Asylum/City, Tomb Raider, Dishonored 2, I Am Alive, Unworthy, Super Dungeon Bros, Playstation VR, and probably even more stuff I’m forgetting. Thanks for listening, and if you have the time, a review on iTunes would be MASSIVELY appreciated. Find out all about our hosts www.darkinsight.net
It’s another episode of Dark Insight! This week we delve deep into new DLC for Dark Souls 3, Ashes of Ariandel. We even brought a lore expert to help us out: Leonard aka DrFaustIsDead. We chat about FFXV, Nintendo Switch, Red Dead Redemption 2, Until Dawn, Transformers, Dragon Quest Builders, Word of Final Fantasy, Battlefield 1, Thumper, and Bloodborne. In case you haven’t heard, Bloodborne is the greatest game ever. Special Guest: Dr Faust.
Who’s that with the strange voice at the beginning of the show? Why, it’s none other than the founder of Dark Insight, Clifford Goldsmith! That’s right he’s back, and he brought a friend: Josh Crowe is here! Josh’s birthday was this week, so we got some of our friends in the podcasting community to give him a shoutout. See the list below on where to find those charming gentlemen (in order of appearance). From there we get into the bulk of our show: video games! This week we talk about Destiny, Darkest Dungeon, Deus Ex, Mafia 3, Uncharted 4, Rocket League, The Bunker, Virginia, and the Bioshock Collection! Cliff gives us his first hand report on the PSVR, there’s something wrong with Sony’s recommendation engine, and listener responses at the end. Enjoy! Dark Insight 31 is here! Just for you! Yes, you there, with the headphones. Cliff is unable to join us this week, so we invited friend of the show Bryan Wade to join Jeremy and Vader this week. We talk about Destiny, Destiny 2, shitheads, Alone With You, Virginia, Darkest Dungeon, Earthlock, Spelunky, Rocket League, Slayer Shock, and probably at least 10 other things I’m forgetting. As always, your responses are at the end. Thanks so much for listening, folks, it means a lot. Welcome back to Dark Insight! Cliff is on holiday this week, so we invited friend of the show Kyle (aka Lurker Zero) to come onto the show. Kyle has recently retired from the Halo community, effectively shutting down his YouTube channel and giving up on the game. We discuss why in detail at the end of the episode, and also hear from our listeners about why they’ve given up on games. Before the main topic, we also cover the Playstation 4 Pro, The Last Guardian delay, and various stories coming out of the Tokyo Game Show. Oh yeah, we also talk GAMES! Finally, Dark Insight takes a break from hating on Overwatch to actually playing it! Plus: ReCore, retro games, Dues Ex, and MORE. Shoutout to Jake Lionheart on Twitter for the Overwatch rap you’ll hear in the podcast. Check out his YT for more: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCO0FyYHwdvmxS38XFDqb33Q Special Guest: Kyle Cerk.
For our next Friends of the Show Episode, we are joined by Jeremy Greer. Jeremy runs his own podcast Don't Give Up Skeleton, which is based on the stories of fans of the Dark Souls series of games, as well as co-hosting the Dark Insight Podcast, which is a videogame related podcast. Jeremy is new to the boardgaming hobby, so we talk a few games he should consider picking up as a new player including Love Letter, Hive and Survive! Escape from Atlantis. He tells us about his experiences with Marrying Mister Darcy and how he dealt with being thrown into his first ever Dungeons and Dragons game. In short - he loved it. We also have a good old chat about the Dark Souls Boardgame Kickstarter, and what our thoughts are on it. It’s Saturday morning here in the US, so that means: another Dark Insight episode for YOU! This week Cliff is on vacation (or is he…) so Stephen from the Platformers podcast joins us to talk about games. And woah, did we talk about games. Topics include: Nintendo DX, No Man’s Sky, Hyper Light Drifter, MGSV, ALL of the Souls games (that’s right!), Hearthstone, Titanfall, Project Cars, Unravel, Telltale’s Batman, ABZU, Inside, Max and the Curse of the Brotherhood, and probably some that I’m forgetting. Jeremy talks about meeting internet people in the real world, Vader is really cold, and Stephen talks about how long games should be. PLUS! Listener emails. It’s a full episode this week ladies and skeletons, so sit back, relax, load up iTunes, leave us a review, and let the chat flow.
