This week's episode starts off with a wardrobe change, rumors of Sony working on a new PlayStation handheld, and more "hints" of Final Fantasy VII Remake maybe coming to Xbox who the hell knows when, before getting to what we've been playing with Farming Simulator 25, Cultist Simulator, White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies, Glitch Hero, MetroLand, Spellagis. Anyway and as always, thank you for watching or listening, I hope you enjoy this here episode, and I hope you have a wonderful wonderful rest of your day. (And if you haven't already, or are a listener and not a watcher, please like, subscribe, hit the bell, and all that jazz; it may not seem like much, but it goes a long way in helping support the show and site in general. I would appreciate it greatly.)

Sobre los juegos, analizamos The Case of the Golden Idol, Bayonetta 3 y The Legend of Tianding. Hello Cubies! This week we dive into the world of cult games. And we are not talking about cult classics, we are discussing the games that have cults as their central theme. Each one of the games we discuss take this theme and present it in a very different way. From roguelikes like Cult Of The Lamb, to card games like Cultist Simulator themes can be presented in some amazing ways. So, sit back and listen to our sermon on cult games! -------- Follow the link bellow to go to our various socials and be sure to join the Discord to talk with us and the community directly. Thank you all for the love and support! https://linktr.ee/glitchcube Also we have a website now! Where you can find our show, more about us and even blog posts that we have written! glitchcubepod.com
Tyler, Austin, and Mox struggle to keep a grip on their sanity in 2018's card-driven Cultist Simulator! Like most any great Lovecraftian adventure, despair is always close at hand... Note: Audio quality may waver as it was live-streamed over Discord and Twitch.
"I don't want to be Elfstar anymore! I want to be Debbie!"Join us for a romp through tabletop gaming's earliest origins and the effect its had on modern video games. Well, that was the intention. We actually stop around the 1980s with fundamental Christianity and a woman called Janine who is bad at charades. But we talk about the defining characteristic of nerdery, Star Wars vs Star Trek, Boris Johnson and the Devil's testicles in between. Real talk: APOPHENIA. Alexis and Lottie discuss subliminal pattern-seeking from its coinage by a Nazi psychologist to its use by modern indie game developers to cover up the fact we don't have any budget. Wait! This episode is about sex and games and the libertine novels of eighteenth-century France. From Talleyrand, the Napoleonic clergyman and diplomat, through to Cindy Crawford, Peter Bradshaw and Amouranth, the Twitch streamer scandal du jour, we talk erotica, porn and those anime sex games you see all the time on Steam. Listen for the power of 'not for me', the uselessness of banning things, and Alexis's really bizarre description of one of Lottie's favourite games.Games / books mentioned in this episode, for your gaming / reading pleasure:- Cultist Simulator, by us- 'The Law of Boob', by Lottie - Fallout 4, by Bethesda - Far Cry 5, by Ubisoft - PUBG, by KRAFTON - Horizon Zeo Dawn, by Guerilla - DEEP SPACE WAIFU: NEKOMIMI, by Neko Climax Studios- LOVE³ -Love Cube-, by Neko Work H - The Ditzy Demons Are in Love With Me, by SMILE - Being a DIK, by Dr PinkCake - VA-11 Hall-A, by Sukeban Games - Subverse, by Studio FOW - Thérèse Philosophe, by Jean-Baptiste de BoyerFollow us on Twitter and sign up to the mailing list to make sure you don't miss the next episode! ♥Support the show (http://bit.ly/2JCKVEH)
What's the connection between the Labyrinths of Night and the Bright Ditches? This question and many more we don't really answer in this episode on mazes, labyrinths and game design.Meet labrys, the lesbianic double-headed axe. Leave kittens in mazes and form human chains in swampy MUDs. Learn Alexis Kennedy's First Law of Narrative. Cake. Also, Lottie gets cross about a pretend man 'buggering off with a sex witch and having a baby'.
This week's episode features two fascinating games. First it's a recommendation for the experiential origami nature odyssey Paper Beast – released in 2020 for Oculus and PSVR – followed by a critique of the bafflingly designed Cultist Simulator, which was recently ported to Switch. This week Lochie manages to successfully describe the mechanics of a game, which is especially impressive as said games mechanics are intentionally obscure. And Louis literally scratches an itch on his back.
Ragnarok! Gotterdammerung! Armageddon outta here! In the final episode of season one, we talk eschatology, chocolate, fake news and the bloody gothness of Old Germanic literature. Sexy zombie apocalypses and millennial doomsday cults make an appearance too, because of course they do. And even though we say 'everyone's gonna die' a lot in this episode, we realise it's small acts of everyday niceness that really save us.
Madness, blood and ladies! We talk all things bloody, from Freud to Pliny to the Red Grail to Queen Elizabeth the First to murdering an entire hive of bees. The Madonna / whore complex? Check. From the burning of the marijuana fields in Far Cry 3 to downing some skooma in Skyrim, we talk about the surpisingly few games that have actual drug use in them. Later on we of course cover Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Corey relates his experiences with Cultist Simulator and SteamWorld Dig 2.

Beides will das neue Videospiel „The Sinking City“ thematisieren. Das klappt leider nur teilweise. Zeitmarken: 00:00:00 Anfang 00:01:30 Christians neuer PC: Sekiro, Dark Souls 3 + Gris 00:11:50 Hellblade 00:14:59 Gato Roboto, Time Spinner, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Moon 00:18:12 Cadence of Hyrule 00:24:30 The Sinking City 00:41:20 Interview mit Marco Frenschkowski 00:52:30 The Sinking City 01:18:52 Rassismus in The Sinking City "Lovecrafts Thema ist der Mensch im Kosmos.

We bring out the calipers to talk about the problematic legacy of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, and how games such as Bloodborne, Cultist Simulator, Sunless Sea, and Garfield Kart make a case for cosmic horror to leave the author behind. We Play: Call of Cthulhu, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Death Mark.Music this week is “Imps of the Perverse” and “The Evil Clergyman” by Rudimentary Peni
I'm extremely proud of this episode title, honestly. Anyway, this week we're discussing a bunch of stuff. Machine Head falling apart, Sigh collaborating with an unsavory character, Spotify wanting your DNA, Siriusm XM wanting Pandora (and Eden wanting Sirius XM's CEO, apparently), new stuff by Unearth, Promethean, Darkaeon, Abstract Void, "Germany's Latest Black Metal Rapper" Grafi (thanks Axl), and the 10th anniversary of what is objectively the greatest album of all time, Trivium's Shogun. Then, cool people time with Cultist Simulator, Maniac, and Mandy (both of those previous titles would apply to Mandy as well, by the way). Enjoy!
The chopping block: Beckett on Film: Endgame (2002); Cultist Simulator (2018) Jacob needs to learn Greek, Sam doesn't want to, and the podcast completes the hero's journey. Theme by Irritating Rainbow (website) Produced by Sam Young

Cultist Simulator is a game - maybe - that revels in its own vagueness. Not knowing what it's about or what you're supposed to be doing at a given time seems to be the point. There's a story in there somewhere, but will you be able to find it? Rob, Cassandra Khaw, James Persaud, and Troy "A hedonist club is a good place to spend money and meet people, but the bookstore is better" Goodfellow dive into the eldritch horrors of neatly arranging cards on a table and wondering what it's all about.

It seems to have been a while (almost 2 months to be exact) but the next episode of the podcast has arrived. We talk about a few too many apocalyptic style games, and pick some stuff out of our curator connect list that we *hopefully* would have played by the next one.
WE ARE BACK brahs!! This episode, we're talking about hella games, dude! Grab your surfboard and chill with us as we slip slide into conversation about Yoku's island express and the use of genre in games, then some discussion of Mario Tennis Aces, which is very much a tennis game that feels good to play. Then we talk about Cultist Simulator and ~~diversity in games, thanks to some good-vibe reader mail. 7:30 - Yoku's Island Express 37:55 - Mario Tennis Aces 53:00 - Cultist Simulator 1:07:53 - Reader Mail - Diversity in Games Intro/Outro music is TABOO by Seiho Break music is 3 31 from the Persona 3 OST
Let's talk about the naughty games we weren’t allowed to play as youngsters (but did anyway). Alice suffered strict rationing of The Sims 2, and Dave was scolded about Silent Hill. Although, Brendan’s parents didn’t seem to care about GTA 2. And we’re still sneaking games today. Alice has been kidnapping policemen in Cultist Simulator, while Dave has been scurrying around in Ghost of a Tale. Also, keep your earholes primed for some bonus facts about axolotls. This week Dan and Dudley are talking about the big news of Fallout 76 and Pokemon Let’s Go. Dan rambles and mutters incoherently about something called Cultist Simulator. Diplomacy is still ongoing. Dan broke Objects in Space and also is trying out Pokemon Quest.
Welcome to a jam packed episode of Video Games Were a Mistake! It's that time of year where a lot of major E3 announcements get leaked out and this week was no exception. The crew talks about the new Fallout trailer, the plethora of Pokemon titles Nintendo is preparing to drop, and the new Team Sonic Racing game. We also dive into the inevitable suing of Epic by PUBG over intellectual property in Fortnite and show some love to the Killer 7 port that is headed to PC. Ian shares his thoughts on State of Decay 2, Jermaine finally rips off the digital plastic for Metal Gear Solid 5, and Benson almost soils himself playing The Forest in VR. Detroit: Becoming Human gets time to shine as Benson shares his thoughts with his time with the game and we also find out just how much he loved Fallout 4. This and more can be heard on this week's show. Also, Cultist Simulator comes out this week so be sure to check it out and let them know that VGWAM sent you! Come join us and chat in our Discord!
Cultist Simulator is a difficult game to classify - it’s a card-based strategy game, but also a Lovecraftian weird fiction engine that focuses on discovery through exploration and dreaming. Ian spoke with creators Alexis Kennedy and Lottie Bevan, who collaborated on games like Sunless Sea and Fallen London prior to founding their own studio to make experimental games like Cultist Simulator. They discuss their literary influences, game design goals, and what they’ve learned over the course of the game’s development. Cultist Simulator will launch on Steam May 31.
We are back at it again! Fishing Strike for iOS consumed two-thirds of the cast this week, Jermaine finally started playing Darkest Dungeon, and Ian opened our eyes to an Android game called Guild of Dungeoneering. Benson goes deep on Fishing Strike and explaining why it's so amazing. Ian shared his thoughts on Total Warhammer 2, detailed why ARMA 3 was interesting, and finally dipped his toes in the Radical Heights pool. We ponder on what PUBG is doing with all of their new random modes and what the future looks like for Bluehole. Benson recommend a new story driven game called Marie's Room and talked about his time with Cultist Simulator. We end the cast with goofing on Billy Mitchell for a bit. Man...Billy Mitchell. Come join us and chat in our Discord!
