As novas normas da política de Desconto Social de Energia do governo federal, que ampliam a faixa de renda dos beneficiários, passaram a valer no dia 1° de janeiro. No Espírito Santo, a EDP, distribuidora de energia elétrica do Estado, tem orientado seus clientes sobre o Desconto Social. O benefício é destinado às famílias inscritas no Cadastro Único para Programas Sociais (CadÚnico), com renda familiar entre meio e um salário-mínimo por pessoa, e complementa a Tarifa Social de Energia Elétrica já existentes.Na nova modalidade, explica a concessionária, o cliente tem direito a desconto no consumo mensal de até 120 kWh por meio da isenção da cobrança da Conta de Desenvolvimento Energético (CDE). O consumo que exceder esse limite será faturado pela tarifa regular. O desconto se aplica exclusivamente ao valor da tarifa de energia, permanecendo a cobrança de impostos, taxas e demais encargos."Caso o cliente atenda aos critérios do programa, o desconto será aplicado automaticamente na fatura, sem necessidade de solicitação. Para ter direito ao benefício, a conta de energia deve estar em nome de um dos membros da família cadastrados no CadÚnico. Caso contrário, é necessário realizar a Troca de Titularidade".
