In this conversation, David Bryan speaks with author and scholar Omar Imady, who shares his insights on the complex history of Syria, the impact of the Assad regime, and the effects of the Arab Spring. Imady discusses the shift in power dynamics during the Syrian civil war, the rise of rebel groups, and their governance. He expresses cautious optimism about Syria's future, highlighting the need for economic recovery and the importance of international relations. The conversation concludes with Imady's personal reflections and aspirations for returning to Syria.Omar Imady is an uncommon collection of many things – Syrian, American, exile, javaphile, gastronome, and aerophobe – all of which find expression in his growing repertoire of eclectic fiction. He is the author of multiple books, including Erasures (Literary Titan Gold Award), Catfishing Caitlyn, The Celeste Experiment (both recipients of the Literary Titan Silver Award), Transference (nominated for the Pushcart Prize by Litro Magazine), When Her Hand Moves, a collection of three controversial, thought-provoking novellas, and The Gospel of Damascus, a 2012 Book of the Year Award finalist. His forthcoming novels dig ever deeper into the human experience of alienation and the quest for meaning in a world increasingly hostile to answers.Born in Damascus to an American mother and Syrian father, Omar grew up in a world of constant and vibrant contrasts. Omar has lived in America, the Middle East, and now resides in the UK in the company of his cat, Sabrina. He loves to walk in remote and unexplored places, traveling by trains and boats (he does everything he can to avoid planes!), and is addicted to genealogy research. He writes daily as he listens to jazz and overdoses on coffee.

On the 59th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, Steve Wright from the Podder Than Hell Podcast, review the 1985 album from Bon Jovi, "7800 Fahrenheit." 7800 Fahrenheit is Bon Jovi's second studio album. The young band continued the same basic formula as their debut album. The band was led by charismatic frontman Jon Bon Jovi who was the primary songwriter. Richie Sambora the guitarist also helped write songs with Jon and you could see the beginnings of this legendary duo. David Bryan on keyboards also helped with a few songs. Alec John Such and Tico Torres rounded out the rhythm section. The album was produced by Lance Quinn. The album continued where their debut left off, with some rockers, mid-tempo songs and a ballad. Jon continued his hard working ways to craft an album in between consecutive non stop tours. 7800 Fahrenheit is a polarizing album often panned by Jon, but loved by the fans, especially songs like, In And Out Of Love & Tokyo Road. The album did go platinum and features 3 MTV Videos. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This was Zeus' pick. About David BryanThrough a decades-long career in the trade, business, and education spaces, Dr. David Bryan has garnered the skills to be a curious and eager student of many fields. Having taught at middle school, high school, and university levels throughout the United States, Dr. Bryan gained the experience to spearhead his own venture, co-founding New Roads School, a unique independent school in Southern California that devoted between 40 to 50 percent of its annual budget to need-based financial aid. That allowed New Roads to create a private school population that was ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse.Bryan served as a faculty member, Founding Head of School, and President from 1995 until his departure in 2013. Following this, he founded his own consulting business and lectured in economics at UC Santa Cruz.In 2020, Dr. Bryan relocated to rural Wyoming, and for the first time in years found himself outside of the classroom. The podcasting space has been steadily growing, allowing people all over the world to connect. Leveraging the podcasting format and fortified by his “enduring belief that a person can learn a great deal about the world and other people by simply being curious about what folks do”, Dr. Bryan launched his largest “classroom” yet, the CURIOSITY INVITED podcast. Between the podcast, participating on several boards, and spending time with his wife, Shelly Graham, exploring the many splendors of Wyoming terrain, his calendar and inbox are both pretty full.
We had the pleasure of interviewing GXTP over Zoom video!GXTP — comprised of multi-platinum and GRAMMY nominated producers Jason Paul and Sasha Sirota, along with Triple Sixx — who have released their debut album Smoke & Mirrors! The collection of catchy hooks and heavy beats was conceptualized during the pandemic and allows the group of creatives to tap into a genre they had not previously explored. On Smoke & Mirrors, GXTP hone in on their motto as “the greatest f*cking rock band of all time,” spotlighting various rock elements with the perfect amount of comedic relief. The project — led by multi-platinum and GRAMMY nominated producers Jason Paul and Sasha Sirota, along with Triple Sixx — provided the group of creatives an opportunity to tap into the rock world in a way they had not yet explored. The result is an anthemic collection of catchy hooks and heavy beats including “Lust & Purity” and explosive track “Contraband” featuring the legendary Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe which was praised as a “rock and roll banger” by V Magazine and quickly climbed up the Top 40 Mediabase Active Rock chart. Also on the album is the energetic “Quiet Riot” featuring iconic keyboardist and Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan, debut single “Foresight,” and the adrenaline-fueled “Accusation,” which have been quickly adding to the band's over 7.5 million global streams and media support from the likes of E!, Forbes, Loudwire, Blabbermouth, and Spindle Magazine, among others. The record was produced by the band with all members contributing vocals and Sasha performing guitar, bass, drums, and keys throughout. Smoke & Mirrors features additional production on select tracks from Brent Kolatalo (Kendrick Lamar, Drake) and was mixed by Tom Lord-Alge (Blink-182, The Rolling Stones) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Green Day, Metallica) at Sterling Sound Studios.Formed to not only provide audiences with unparalleled writing and musicianship, but to be an almost reflection of society unto itself, GXTP was conceptualized during the pandemic when the nation fought and scrambled for supplies and is an abbreviation for what the news and communities placed the most importance on: guns and toilet paper. The project features two powerhouse songwriters and producers who have both previously held top spots on Billboard's R&B Producers charts with Jason being known for having penned and produced some of the biggest hits by Justin Bieber, Maluma, and J Balvin among others while Sasha has worked with the likes of Justin Bieber, Zac Brown Band, and Drake. Applying the same rules and quality standards they hold for their own various projects, GXTP's debut album is yet another masterpiece to add to their growing catalogs. We want to hear from you!
