The guys wax poetic after another history-making night for Charlotte FC, and break some new ground of their own, recording an episode right after attending the game for the first time this season. It's joyful exuberance hot off the presses as the club stays very hot on the pitch and provide yet another endearing night for supporters on a beautiful Spring evening in the one (and only) Queen City.
Make no mistake - Union Berlin are among the most defensively solid sides in the Bundesliga. In fact, they were ranked 4th best among all BuLi sides in the defensive aspects of football heading into this tie. Bayern Munich had other ideas. Nagelsmann's choices seemed near-perfect in what was an absolute tactical masterclass and a dominant performance from the Bavarians. Union Berlin pressed ferociously and defended with everything they had in the early minutes, but quickly fell prey to the mean Bavarian attacking machine, getting hammered 4-0 in the process. Here are the talking points from the game: Union Berlin's style of play, and how Nagelsmann countered it Nianzou with a great performance... Stanisic quite solid, but still quite raw Bayern's brilliant attack, Lewandowski is unstoppable A very good defensive effort (and a CLEAN SHEET!!!!) Neuer's underrated contributions Midfield looking in control... Musiala growing into the 8 role? Overall assessment + looking forward Learn more about your ad choices. At the third time of asking, Watford got to play Burnley at Turf Moor, this season. It was wet, windy but Jon, Mike and Jason gathered at Mike's warm house for an evening where Watford achieved a 0-0 draw, yes a clean sheet, and a performance that didn't blow our minds but showed some signs of improvement. No one is getting carried away, well apart from about retro and classic football shirts, but the season isn't over yet. This is From The Rookery End... COME ON YOU ORNS
In this edition of the Football Daily pod Jeanette Kwakye and Ben Haines are joined by The Telegraph's Luke Edwards and special guest, former West Ham and Aston Villa midfielder, Nigel Reo-Coker. The guys hear from Ralf Rangnick, after the interim manager got his first win in his opening game in the dugout at the club. They also get a United fan perspective after that 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. They also debate what next for Everton after the news that the club's director of football, Marcel Brands has left the club. Ben witnessed Tottenham's win over Norwich and gives his highlights – which includes a spectacular Lucas Moura wonder goal and Nigel gives his reaction to a “crazy” game between Aston Villa and Leicester, which saw Steven Gerrard get one over his former Liverpool boss. And that's not all - as Luke details his trip to Wembley after he watching Chelsea dominate Arsenal to win the women's FA Cup final – and Emma Hayes makes an appearance too! Topics: 1'28 – Nigel basking in West Ham's glory after beating Chelsea on Saturday, and how they are better than Spurs at the moment. 5'26 – Manchester United section – Nigel does not understand the hype surrounding United's win over a Palace side that were less than perfect. 10'00 – Ralf Rangnick interview with Gary Flintoff. 13'40 – Joe Smith from the Stretford Paddock on Manchester United's first win under Rangnick and what next for the club. 22'30 – Reaction to the news that Everton's club director, Marcel Brands is set to leave the club. 30'00 – Ben attended the Tottenham v Norwich game and gives his match highlights. 35'15 – Review of Aston Villa v Leicester, a game which Nigel described as “crazy” and the guys debate ‘that' disallowed goal. 41'00 – Praise for Patrick Bamford after he rescues a point for Leeds v Brentford. 43'27 - Luke's analysis of Chelsea's dominant win over Arsenal in the women's FA Cup final. 45'00 – Emma Hayes interview.

RAND researchers Cynthia Cook and William Shelton joined me on the Acquisition Talk podcast to discuss their new paper which takes a fresh look at the space acquisition enterprise. Not only is the US Space Force much smaller than its sister services (just 16,000 compared more than 10x that number in the Marines), it is also much more reliant on technology. They argue that the nation's newest military service has a huge opportunity to shape a more agile process and flatter organization. This includes: - Creating a culture of "warrior engineers" - Embracing funding flexibility and portfolio management - Empowering a single space acquisition decisionmaker - Coordinating enterprise architectures and capability roadmaps - Increasing cross-pollination between government and industry In the episode, Cynthia and Bill emphasize the need for the Space Force to think differently about program management. Often, managers are incentivized to deliver on their baseline program instead of taking responsibility for broader integration issues. For example, the GPS capability set was broken out into separate programs for space vehicle, ground, user equipment, and launch, causing synchronization issues. Bill explained how "As a program manager, I had the iron triangle. Don't mess with my cost-schedule-performance. Anybody comes with a new idea, if it's going to make me slip or cost money, thanks for your interest in national defense but I'm going to do what I got to do to meet my APB." Changing this system of incentives requires a different personnel structure, system of promotion, dedicated contracting officers, and methods of accountability. This is particularly true as space systems rely more on commercial, proliferation, and "good enough" solutions rather than exquisite systems that take more than a decade to field. Ny uke, ny podcast. God lytt!

Chris Gasper is talking with New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner. The Revs are enjoying one of the best starts in franchise history, maintaining the momentum they built with their run to the Eastern Conference Finals last year. Is this the best Revs team Turner has played on, and can they finally bring home an MLS Cup? Turner explains what kind of coach Bruce Arena is and how he has impacted the Revolution, on and off the pitch. Also, Turner addresses the dream of the Revs finally having their own stadium and what it would mean for the franchise and its fans. Lastly, we learn that producer Ellen Fleming has a distinct, and somewhat frightening memory of Revolution midfielder Scott Caldwell, who turns out to be Turner's old roommate.
