Sam Clements is curating a fictional film festival. He'll accept almost anything, but the movie must not be longer than 90 minutes. This is the 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest podcast. In episode 25 Sam is joined by Liam Dempsey, co-host of Spocklight: A Star Trek Podcast, a show that explores the Star Trek franchise from a non-Trekkie perspective.Liam has chosen Shane Meadows's 2004 revenge drama Dead Man's Shoes (86 minutes) starring Paddy Considine, Gary Stretch and Toby Kebbell. Liam and Sam talk about Shane Meadows's use of violence on screen, Toby Kebbell's impressive big screen debut and the film's experimental origins. We unfortunately experienced some technical issues whilst recording this episode, you may notice a drop in audio quality towards the end of the show. Thank you for downloading. Director Neil Huxley joins MG to talk about a personal favorite: the powerful under-the-radar indie Dead Man's Shoes, written and starring Paddy Considine from The World's End and Peaky Blinders, and directed by Shane Meadows of This is England. Family, regret, violence, and brotherhood are all examined in this story of a military man who has returned home to confront the crew of low-rent criminals who abused his brother -Â but while the setup may seem familiar, nothing plays out the way you expect it to, and what at first seems like straightforward vengeance plotline slowly evolves something much deeper and more meaningful!

Episode eighteen, so the podcast has finally come of age! Nick also completes a major rite of passage as he finally finishes Twin Peaks, while Alastair is out partying at the London Film Festival. After that, it's a game of two halves as we check out two new American TV shows: the opening seven episodes of Luke Cage, the new Marvel Netflix series (5:36 WITH SPOILERS), and the pilot of Westworld, a new sci-fi series from HBO (24:32). In the latter stage, it's all about British cinema with Spaceship (38:53), a spacey teenage drama we saw at London Film Festival, and Alastair's recommendation from last week, the East Midlands revenge thriller Dead Man's Shoes (49:41).

Look, I know we promised that today we'd be unleashing our Mega-Franklins that awarded the best and worst episodes for the entire run of the series, but we needed a little more time to make it the greatest podcast in recorded history. Instead, we decided to give you this fun bonus episode. After recording The Franklins for the fifth season, I kept the mics rolling as I surprised Jeff Cork with a pop quiz. I read off the title for all 156 episodes of The Twilight Zone to test how well we remember this show that we've devoted so much time to studying and debating. You can listen to the podcast below or subscribe to us on iTunes. Stay tuned next week for our ultimate awards show, it'll be fun. I hope this episode serves as a nice reminder of some episodes you might have forgotten. This week our request comes from Wyatt via our Facebook page! (http://www.facebook.com/MassMoviecide) Sometimes you gotta take matters into your own hands, Movieciders. At least, that's what our flicks this week preach. We're watching some good old fashioned vigilante gore! First, we're watching DEAD MAN'S SHOES directed by Shane Meadows, starring Paddy Considine, Gary Stretch, and Toby Kebbell. After that, we move on to THE BOONDOCK SAINTS directed by Troy Duffy, starring Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus (currently of THE WALKING DEAD fame. ...sorry, shameless use of good search-engine-words), and Willem Dafoe! Get out your silencers, gas masks, and Irish accents, ladies and gentlemen! It's time to commit Mass Moviecide!
