Heute ist André Eichbauer mein Gast. Früher Projektmanager in Werbe-, Marketing und Designagenturen – heute Kunsttherapeut, Familienvater, Hundebesitzer, Gründer und Betreiber von The Elephant Room – ein virtueller Ort, an dem André Menschen hilft, die ein Burnout haben oder gerade kurz davor sind, in ein solches hinein zu schliddern. So wie er selbst – vor einigen Jahren. Und da sind wir auch schon beim Thema dieser Folge: Es geht um das Burnout-Syndrom. Und dementsprechend hört ihr heute mal keine Geschichte, in der Angst die Hauptrolle spielt. Ich fand es trotzdem wichtig, einen Abstecher in diese Richtung zu machen. Und zwar aus folgenden Gründen: Zum Einen steigt die Zahl der diagnostizierten Burnouts seit Jahren. Und zwar vor allem bei den unter 55-Jährigen. Zum Anderen treten Angst und eine chronische Erschöpfung oft zusammen auf. Manchmal bedingen sie sich sogar. Denn wer jahrelang eine Angststörung hat und diese vielleicht im Job auch noch versteckt oder kompensiert…durch extra viel Arbeit, der oder die ist gefährdeter, irgendwann nicht mehr zu können. ODER: Die Angst tritt als Folge eines Burnouts auf, besonders häufig in Form von Panikattacken übrigens. Außerdem ist mir nach dieser Folge noch etwas aufgefallen: Und zwar, was Angststörungen und ein Burnout gemeinsam haben – es geht in beiden Fällen meistens auch darum, was für eine Beziehung wir zu uns selbst und unseren Gefühlen haben. Darum geht's! Immer wieder…Das kann man auch den Schilderungen von André entnehmen. Er erzählt, wie es ist, wenn von heute auf morgen gar nichts mehr geht, wie ihm stationäre Klinikaufenthalte halfen, wieder auf die Beine zu kommen, und er dennoch in ein zweites Burnout rutschte. Erst, als er verstand, dass es nicht darum geht, im Außen etwas zu verändern, sondern im Innen, in ihm selber, ging es wirklich wieder aufwärts. Und da sind wir wieder bei einer sehr wichtigen Frage in diesem Zusammenhang: Wie gehe ich eigentlich mit mir um?
