Is the episode chock full of Bat-goodness and fun? Definitely. So listen away, Bat-Fanatics, as we discuss such lurid topics as: would polar repulsion actually break a clocktower? The Fat Man based on a character created by Dashiel Hammett (1946 - 51)There he goes into that drugstore … he's stepping on the scale. Weight? …two hundred thirty-seven pounds ... fortune - DANGER! Whooooooo is it?The Fat Mannnnn ….The Fat Man character was Brad Runyan, played by Jack Scott Smart who gave an excellent lighthearted performance. The series made good use of author Dashiel Hammett's name, although the author had little to do with the radio series. The name The Fat Man was the title of a chapter in the book A Maltese Falcon.

Freedom! What does that mean to you? What does that freedom look like? What is freedom from? In a world of great diversity, there is a diversity of answers to those questions. God has given us a free will in order that we may have a relationship with Him based upon the choice of mutual love. People, in general, have taken that free will and have convinced themselves that they can attain their own freedom by exercising that free will. What a fine web of corruption we have weaved! With everyone exercising their freedom of choice, speech, and distorted view of who they are and how they want to live is it any wonder we find ourselves heading over the cliff of distorted freedom. Jesus said that if we abide in Him we can know the truth and that truth will make us free! It was for freedom that Christ died and we are warned not to turn our freedom into an opportunity for our flesh. Our flesh will corrupt anything it touches. We are called to die to ourselves that we may live in the freedom that Christ died for. Let's open up the gospel and discover the freedom that Christ died for!

Part of Adam West’s renaissance as a performer, once his fans were old enough to cast him in stuff, was voicing various versions of himself in cartoons. One of these was in Nickelodeon show The Fairly OddParents, in which “TV’s Adam West” was the famous actor who had played the hero “Catman” — but thought he really was Catman! This time we take a look at Adam’s appearances on the show. Also: The 7th issue of the Batman ’66 comic book, featuring False Face! Art by past Deconstructing Comics interviewee Christopher Jones. One of the weirdest Batman theme versions we’ve found yet: Celio Balona's "Tema de Batman". Proverbs In 365 Devotions For more go to braggingonjesus.com Proverbs 14:5 A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies. People bear some kind of witness with their life. They proclaim something about who they are to others. We could even think about satan himself. He proclaims his own glory… He says his way is best for us. He says sin satisfies. In the Garden of Eden he told Eve God was a liar… and that the fruit of the tree God said would bring death would actually make her like God. But satan is a false witness. Solomon says that a false witness breathes out lies. In John 8:44, speaking of satan Jesus said this: …When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. That’s who satan is… even when he tried his hand at quoting scripture when he tempted Jesus in the wilderness his intent was deceit and he came to Jesus as a liar. What about us? Are we a faithful witness or a false witness? Of course a witness is someone who has actually saw something. They were there and can testify because they experienced something. But as broken people in a broken world… and speaking practically that includes Christians because although we are 100% righteous positionally… practically we are still a work in progress as the Lord is conforming us to his image… As broken people then… we have to fight against the temptation to say we are more than we are. I mean, no one wants to be thought of as less than others… not smart, not clever… We rather want to be looked up to and sought out for council… We even want to look good while we stand in the spotlight. But we have to fight against that because it is a false witness of who we really are. Even in the church there are so many I fear that claim to walk close to the Lord and want to be seen as leaders or role models… The Apostle John talks about this very thing: 1st John 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. So if we stray from walking close to the Lord, (which we all do in some fashion from time to time) we are tempted to put on a self righteous front instead of humbling ourselves to the Lord in repentance. Not only are we tempted to bear a false witness to others but we can lie to ourselves also. 1st John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. All this lying is something we should flee from… If we truly know the Lord… and we do not call our sin what it is… rebellion against our Creator and Lord… our hearts can be seared hard like a stone so that our sweet fellowship with the Lord disappears… And that is a scary place to be… It is a red flag as to whether we have ever turned away from sin towards Jesus in the first place. But for those who will turn… there is some amazing good news. John continues: 1st John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So in closing… #1; don’t trust the lies of satan. Dont believe the promises for satisfaction and life he spurts out of his mouth. And #2; don’t live your life bearing a false witness of who your are. Even as believers we must humble ourselves instead of seeking our own false exaltation. James 5:16 says: …confess your sins to one another… #3; don’t rationalize your own sin… call it what it is. #4 Always keep returning to the Lord… Confess your sin to him and trust him for 100% forgiveness because of Jesus. Finally #5; get up and walk in the sweet joy of the Lord as a faithful witness on the mission of sharing not our own glory; but the glory of God in Jesus to a broken world.

Batman 66 #7"The Fiend is False!" & "The Joker's Layoff Riot!"Published: January, 2014 False Face gets the return engagement many fans of the 66 series have always wanted and this is a story that could easily play out on the 66 seres with one exception (based on budget, that is). Plus, the Joker is the backup story in a tale that is a comedic take on our employment system. John and Dan Greenfield of 13th Dimension get together in the Batcave to review DC Comics' seventh issue of the 66 series run. Join them every Wednesday for a new review as they go through every issue of the run and every special edition story as well. John and Dan talk about how Christopher Jones' artwork nicely reproduces the backlots of the Warner Bros. Studios, how not only the heroes, but the villains are nicely captured in this issue, and the humorous look at how our economic and employment system works in the United States as told through a clever Joker story. Dan Greenfield is the editor and co-creator of 13thDimension.com, a website devoted primarily to comics and pop culture, past and present. To him, the basic food groups are Batman, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek (the Original Series), James Bond, the Beatles and the Stones. But if he had to he'd be able to subsist on Batman alone. Channel 11 in New York was his favorite syndicated channel as a kid -- you can guess why -- followed closely by Channel 5. Channel 9 didn't really enter into it unless he was home sick and there wasn't much else on. He's married to his remarkably patient wife Wendy and his best sidekick is his son, Sam. They have two cats,Lex and Zod. Links 13th Dimension Website Facebook page Twitter
A sermon for June 10, 2018, the third Sunday after Pentecost at Oxford Baptist Church. Of note, we had no power in the sanctuary due to a fallen tree and broken power line on Main Street. The laughing at the beginning of the service is in reference to that. If the sound is different, that is also why it is a little different. I actually think it is a little better.

Malachi Throne's turn as False Face was one of the oddest villain appearances in the history of the show. Throne was only credited as "?" until the closing credits of part two -- why? Throne gave at least two different stories about this; which should we believe? While William Dozier thought the arc was a failure, and False Face never appeared again, some now regard this one as their favorite. Why? We discuss this question, as well as the mysterious cameo by two people on a subway, how TV False Face differed from False Face in the comics, reflections of '60s America in "Batman", and much more. But first, our somewhat belated farewell to Yvonne Craig...
