The Edmonton Oilers go head-to-head with the Vancouver Canucks tonight for game 2 of there seven game series. The Oilers dropped game 1 despite leading 4-2 in the third period. The Canucks scored three unanswered goals and the Oilers had no response. As we head into game 2, the Oilers need more from there star players across the board. The Oilers are making one lineup adjustment heading into tonight. Warren Foegele practiced yesterday on the top line next to Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman replacing Mattias Janmark. That decision came after McDavid was held without a shot for the first time in his playoff career. What do you make of the decision to put Foegele on the first line? Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will discuss that and more on Oilersnation Everyday live at noon only on the Oilersnation YouTube channel. Want your thoughts on the show? During the second hour, Luke Gazdic joins the show as the 'Pro Am Sports Big Guest of the Day.' He breaks down the game saying that the Canucks were over-respecting the Edmonton Oilers and that the Canucks progressed throughout the game to shut down McDavid and the rest of their top players. Gaz then takes a look at Stuart Skinner and his poor start in game one. He says that some of the goals against Skinner weren't completely his fault besides Connor Garland. Besides that, he didn't look too much into it but eludes to the fact that teams aren't going to win if they let in 5 goals.   After having Mattias Janmark on the top line, Gazdic thinks that the Oilers should have Foegele on the third line, Holloway on the first line and keep Janmark as a depth player. Luke Gazdic thinks the third line isn't the best and that Holloway is one of the only players on the Oilers who can match McDavid's speed.   After wrapping up with the Oilers, Gaz shares his thoughts on the Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins series. Tons of hits in that game and highlights the physicality and playstyle of the Panthers. They shoot, finish checks and play a different brand of hockey. Gaz thinks the Panthers will take the series.   He then moves on to the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche series saying that this next game is a huge one for the Stars. Gaz didn't make a specific pick but he thinks that the Avalanche are insanely quick and only getting better.   He finishes up by sharing his enjoyment of being on Sportsnet and how it doesn't feel like a job.   Afterwards, the boys head into 'The Paris Jewellers Inbox' for some texts from fans.   Dusty then makes his play for the 'Coolbet Hotline of the Day' going to the Dallas Stars at +128!    We hear this year's playoff song to try and hype people up for a game 2 bounce back.   Oh boy, Lt. Eric and Dusty cook during 'I Got Beef' for the ACME Meats where Dusty touches on the fact that people truly think the Canucks vs Oilers series is over after game one and also the fact that Matthew Iwanyk STOLE a cheese curd from Dusty's poutine.

Luke Gazdic joins the show as the 'Pro Am Sports Big Guest of the Day' to talk about the loss. He talks about a team getting four goals and how a team should get the win if they're able to put up a four spot. He shares what he thinks of Stuart Skinner and how long his leash is. Gazdic highlights the amazing playing of Adrian Kempe against the Oilers before shifting to talk about Dylan Holloway and how he fits in the lineup with his recent game. Gazdic shares that he thinks Janmark and Holloway both look great and that Holloway is fighting up the lineup. He does say that even though he adds a scoring option on the fourth line to maybe bump him up to the top line and bring down Foegele. Gaz then talks about Nurse during the OT winner from Kempe. He wraps up his Oilers talk by stating that high scoring games are only in the Oilers favour and can outscore the Kings. After Gaz leaves the boys talk about lineups, involving Corey Perry and his play in last night's game.   Dustin and Eric also talk about goaltending and what Skinner and the rest of the crew have to do to win Game 3.   Dusty lays down 'The Coolbet Hotline of the Day.' After that, the boys go into 'I've Got Beef' for the ACME Meat Market!   We also give away another key word for 'The Fly Away with EST and YEG!'   The boys then take a minute to chat about Stuart Skinner and how fans could be more connected into the game. Oilersnation Radio is your favourite twice-weekly podcast, and that makes today a great day because we've got a fresh episode of the show wrapped up and ready to get you through the week.Kicking off the Tuesday podcast, we started the podcast with a delicious debate about whether or not we would play Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl over the last couple of games, given that there's not a whole lot left to play for in the regular season. Seeing as the Oilers are unlikely to kick off their playoff run until Monday, would you want the Dynamic Duo on the shelf for that much time?Changing gears, we looked at Warren Foegele's time with the Oilers and whether or not this run will come to an end after he put up a hell of a season in his contract year. After putting up career bests in goals, assists, and points, is it realistic for Foegele to stick around Edmonton, or is it more likely that he chases the bag somewhere else? While Baggedmilk thinks Foegele is as good as gone, Rick thinks McLovin will be back with the Oilers when all is said and done. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Can You Clear That Up for Me before wrapping up the podcast with some score predictions ahead of tomorrow's matchup with the Coyotes. The Edmonton Oilers went toe-to-toe with the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night; however, a piece of magic from Nathan MacKinnon late into the overtime period proved to be the difference. Edmonton lost 3-2 but still hold firmly onto second in the Pacific Division and even tightened the gap over the Vancouver Canucks to six points with three games in hand. Also, Warren Foegele is having a fantastic year as he heads into unrestricted free agency. He has found a groove with Leon Draisaitl on the second line, which few have been able to do. With that said, should the Oilers consider bringing him back? The market for players in his position is not great and you know what you have in Foegele. The big question is how much will he demand. Tyler and Liam will debate Foegele's future later on in the show.

The Edmonton Oilers extended their win streak to 12 last night with a 4-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken. However, they didn't make it easy on themselves allowing the Kraken get ahead 2-0 after 20 minutes of play. The fight back started with a timely goal from Warren Foegele scoring less than 30 seconds into the second period. Later on, Foegele scored again this time on a breakaway for his 9th of the season. Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman got in on the action, too, giving the Oilers a 4-2 victory and their 12th win in a row.Beside the come back, the other headline came late in the game. After getting frustrated from a miscall, Yanni Gourde let emotions get the best of him and laid a huge hit on Mattias Ekholm, making contact with the head. In replays, you could see Gourde left his feet to make the hit which resulted in a five-minute major for charging. Tuesday afternoon means another episode of Oilersnation Radio is all set and ready to massage your eardrums with all of the Oilers news and info you could ever hope to have. This week, we're discussing the Oilers' five-game win streak, the second line's success, what they need to do to keep it rolling, and a whole lot more.Kicking off this Tuesday episode of ONR, we got started with a delicious debate about the Oilers' second line and whether or not that trio can keep the good times rolling. Right now, the trio of McLeod, Draisaitl, and Foegele are playing very well as a unit right now, but the question we had was whether or not they can keep playing effectively. Given that the Oilers probably don't have an internal option to fill in at the 3C spot, would it make sense to leave that line together while going to fish for more depth? Changing gears, we looked at the wins over LA and Anaheim to wrap up the road trip and how those two wins were fantastic displays of skill and resilience for an Oilers team that desperately needs points in the standings. Whether it was strong goaltending performances from Skinner and Pickard or the depth scoring coming up with key moments, the Oilers are getting some fantastic performances throughout the lineup, and it's been fun to see who's next up to contribute. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Can You Clear That Up For Me, Woz's signature segment that's definitely not a game. Hosted on Acast. The Edmonton Oilers have returned from their short Christmas break with a purpose and that was on full display over the weekend. On Saturday despite a slow start, Edmonton fought back from 2-0 to tie game with two goals in the second period. With no goals in the third or overtime, a shootout was the only way to decide the difference between the two teams. An unlikely hero in Derek Ryan stepped up to give the Oilers two points. The following night, the Oilers crushed the Anaheim Ducks 7-2 with five even strength points coming from Warren Foegele. Foegele became the first player to do that since Sam Gagner's famous eight point game versus the Chicago Blackhawks in 2012.It's safe to say things are going much better now for the Oilers. The Edmonton Oilers were back on the ice last night in what was an exciting matchup versus the Detroit Red Wings, at the Little Caesars Arena. The Oilers found themselves down 1-0 after the first period; however, two quick goals from Ryan McLeod and Warren Foegele helped them gain their first lead of the game. From there, the copper and blue never looked back getting more goals from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Evander Kane and Foegele, again. On today's show, Tyler Yaremchuk will recap last night's game from the opening puck drop to Brett Kulak's "scrap" with Robby Fabbri. The Oilers just split a very difficult road trip with two wins and two losses, which means we had plenty to talk about on the brand new Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On today's show, we're talkin' about what's happening in the Pacific Division, takeaways from the road trip, Evander Kane's injury, and a whole lot more.To kick off this week's Tuesday podcast, we got started with a conversation about the Pacific Division and how likely it is that the current standings will stay the same as the year progresses. While Vegas isn't necessarily a surprise to see atop the Pacific Division, does anyone really think that the Seattle Kraken will be able to stick around? From there, we looked at the Oilers' road trip and what takeaways we had after the Oilers skated through a tough stretch with a .500 record. One guy that did stick out in a positive way on that trip was Warren Foegele who registered two goals in a span of only three games after going 31 straight contests without one running back to last season. Sticking with the lineup, we looked at Stuart Skinner deservedly getting the start against Los Angeles and maybe even Vegas, but also wondered when Jack Campbell will get his chance to rebound after a brutal loss against Carolina. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another scintillating round of Word Association that had Tyler so excited he could barely focus on the rest of the show. Hosted on Acast. It's Friday afternoon and that means we just wrapped up a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you get through what's left of your day with a full hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today's show, we looked at dynasties in the NHL, arbitration cases, the Calgary Flames, and a whole lot more.Kicking off this week's podcast, we got started with a debate about NHL dynasties and specifically which teams we would consider being a dynasty. While I'm not sure why Liam was thinking about this all morning, we all thought that nothing sets the tone for the podcast quite like a few minutes spent arguing with each other. Getting back to the Oilers, we spent a few minutes talking about Mattias Janmark and whether or not it was important to bring the guy in as a depth signing. Could he be a Foegele replacement if Ken Holland decides to move on? From there we looked at the upcoming arbitration hearings for Kailer Yamamoto and Jesse Puljujarvi, and whether either guy will actually make it through the process before having a contract signed. We also looked through a couple of Oilers rumours that are circling right now, and whether we have the creativity around here to make some of these deals work. Lastly, we wrapped up the podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap the week that was. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
