This hidden gem of an ‘80s sci-fi film has everything you want: practical effects, elaborate sets, miniature spaceships, matte paintings, and incredible makeup. Even more impressive is the performance of Louis Gossett Jr. underneath the intricate alien makeup. He and Dennis Quaid (a human) get stranded on a planet together; their species hate each other more than anything else… but somehow, they'll need to learn to get along if they want to survive this. Teamediting - Zusammen! Schneiden!

An allen Episoden. Wahrgewordenes Team-Editing sozusagen. 62:47 - Abmoderation   Links Caro Biesenbach Lucas Seeberger

Read below for all you need to know about Abridgd Too Far! Fast, furious, funny and frequently infuriating to the aficionado, we present the literature's most renowned and best-loved books in just 1,337 seconds. Missing a hell of a lot out, making stark narrative choices, chucking in a fair amount of jokes and using audio to its maximum potential, this is a breakneck comic canter through the classics. The programme is introduced and narrated by Professor Ullard. They claim to be a professor of English Literature who has abridged these timeless works for the edification of a busy world that doesn't have the time to read. However, in reality they are a pompous, philistine fool with a low opinion of dead authors and classic writing, an obsession with inconsequential details like word counts and anagrams and who just wants to get the whole thing over with as swiftly as possible. Ullard's versions of these masterpieces are acted out for us by their Twenty-Two Minute and Seventeen Second Classic Armchair Audio Theatre Company, which consists of a small (and madly versatile) regular cast of 6 actors, who play all the parts without stopping to take a breath. Because, in spite of the inherent comedy of the pace and haste, this absurd abridgement is a (more or less) faithful retelling of the book, in all its madly dramatic glory. ABRIDGED - TOO FAR So...like an Afternoon Play running to catch a train, The Great Gatsby, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, Lady Chatterley's Lover, The War of the Worlds and The Scarlet Letter will be boiled down, stripped back and sped up for the enjoyment of those listeners who may know the book but will enjoy a speedy re- acquaintance with it – or (far more likely) it will be for those of us who don't know it because we've never had time in our busy lives to sit down and read it but sort of feel we should. David Spicer (Writer / Co-Director) is an award-winning comedy writer whose work for BBC Radio 4 includes the sitcoms Double Income No Kids Yet, Three Off the Tee and Hennikay and the plays Kind Hearts & Coronets (Like Father Like Daughter), Kempton and the Duke and Munchausen. He has written for countless British TV shows and his stage plays have been performed in London and all over the UK. During the pandemic he wrote an acclaimed series of live streamed comedies, performed by socially distanced actors during lockdown John Schwab (Producer / Co-Director) is an award-winning actor, director and producer. It's time for a deep dive – literally – as we plunge into the abyss on this aquatic edition of Bad Dads Film Review.First up, let's submerge ourselves in the world of submarines! Over the years, there have been so many iconic submarines that have graced the big screen, haven't there? Remember The Nautilus from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea"? A true marvel of underwater engineering! Then, of course, there's The Red October from "The Hunt for Red October" – Sean Connery's Russian accent and a game of underwater cat-and-mouse? Classic! And how can we forget U-96 from "Das Boot", giving us an unflinching look at life aboard a German U-boat during WWII. We also have The USS Alabama from "Crimson Tide", where Denzel and Gene Hackman go head-to-head in a battle of wills. And, to round off our list, there's the USS Dallas from "The Hunt for Red October" – a fine piece of American craftsmanship involved in the hunt for its Russian counterpart. With our heads still submerged, our Movie of the Week is "Submarine". Richard Ayoade's directorial debut, this coming-of-age film is dry, witty, and beautifully shot. It's not about submarines in the way you might think, but it's a deep dive into the complexities of adolescence, family dynamics, and the ever-challenging journey of growing up.Then, for a trip down nostalgia lane, let's journey into the depths with "Stingray". It's a blast from the past for some of us! This marionette-filled adventure was a staple of kids' TV back in the day. "Anything can happen in the next half hour" was the promise, and boy, did it deliver! Aquatic adventures, villains, and of course, Marina, the mute mermaid. It might be a little cheesy by today's standards, but it's got a charm that's undeniable. So whether you're all about the deep-sea adventures, navigating the tumultuous waters of teenage life, or just in the mood for some retro TV memories, we've got you covered. Make sure your periscope's up, and let's set sail on another episode of Bad Dads Film Review!
