Mon dieu! Sacré bleu! Sunderland AFC have a head coach, as Kyril has exploited his French connection and appointed a French lad! Gav and Martin got together today to react to it all, trying to avoid lazy stereotypes and occasionally failing. What's le crack? Welcome Reg! He hasn't actually arrived at the academy yet but he'll be there imminently. So has everyone calmed down a bit? It's been a bit of a month for a few, so does this settle the nerves ahead of preseason? Who is Régis Le Bris? The French footy analysts and pundits seem to think highly of him; Is this a distinctly KLD appointment? It certainly feels like one; Are the lads excited by the possibilities or more cautious? What does he need to do first? Can he have a real impact on the players (and the fans) this summer? All this and more! Ha'way the Lads! #SAFC #EFL #RegisLeBris #Championship Hosted on Acast. On this week's episode of the Empire Podcast, the doctor is in. Doctor George Miller, that is, as the MD turned visionary director returns to the big screen with his latest slice of post-apocalyptic madness, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. So, naturally, our Chris Hewitt went along and had a big old chat with Dr. George, as we're reliably informed they call him in Australia, and we bring you the full version of that engrossing interview. [46:15 - 1:14:25 approx) Then, Chris is joined in the podbooth by Helen O'Hara, John Nugent, and James Dyer for a fun episode in which they review Furiosa, Jennifer Lopez' Atlas, Richard Linklater's Hit Man, and The Garfield Movie; discuss the week's movie news, including X-Men, Star Trek and Godzilla developments (but not, crucially, the third Benoit Blanc film, which will be discussed next week); and, in a spoilerific listener question section, talk about their favourite movie farewells (this episode is dedicated to Jürgen Norbert Klopp). Hope you guys have seen noted 'Allo 'Allo prequel, Casablanca! Enjoy.

After years of being a support studio on Pixar games, and dabbling in new technology like the Kinect and HoloLens, French developer Asobo Studio got to work on the game that would be their breakout hit. We're going back to 2019 to take a look at a stealthy, puzzly action-adventure game. We're talking A Plague Tale: Innocence. On this episode of Stealth Boom Boom, we take a look at the big The Last of Us vibes this game was giving off pre-release. We also talk about why Sean Bean is in one of the trailers, the fact they employed kids to voice the characters, and the fact this game is not completely based on fact.In our review, you'll hear some chat on no frills stealth that some think is fine, some think is boring, but everyone thinks works; a tension that never lessens; curated scenarios that don't allow for a ton of experimentation; flinging rocks, sneakily, at the heads of The Inquisition guards with your sling; the glorious filth bag rats that are sometimes your enemy, sometimes your friend, sometimes something that can change a physical space, and just how good they are; spiders in Uncharted 3; trying to aim a headshot while an enemy is rushing you; upgrading your equipment vs being an alchemist; Naughty Dog-style chase sequences; the mental lightbulb being separate to the physical graft in puzzles; Ghost Recon: Rodrik; the ludicrous BioShock-esque final boss that fires rat tornados at you and might be called Life Benevolent; the relationship of Hugo and Amicia de Rune; 'Allo 'Allo! accents; you only understand child characters after you have a real child or something; a manky and swanky score; incredbile environments (plus a Ghost of a Tale shout out); and a celebration of AA. After all that, we take you through what some of the critics were saying about the game around the time it came out, and then we give you our final verdicts on whether A Plague Tale: Innocence is a Pass, a Play, or an Espionage Explosion. For those who would like to play along at home, we'll be discussing, reviewing and dissecting Watch Dogs on the next episode of Stealth Boom Boom.IMPORTANT LINKS TO THINGS

La music story du jour c'est celle de Martin Solveig… D'un extrême à l'autre ! Après des années de silence radio à concevoir des livres audio, le DJ français Martin Solveig est désormais omniprésent, déjà sur les routes des clubs & festivals. After a two-day military operation, Israeli forces have tonight begun withdrawing from a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. We get the latest from Jenin. China has accused the UK of sheltering fugitives - after Hong Kong put bounties on the heads of eight exiled pro-democracy activists. We get the response of a senior MP. And is there a link between 'Allo 'Allo! and our Au Revoir to the European Union? We speak to a history professor who thinks sitcoms predicted Brexit - and to one of the regulars at Cafe Rene.
Allo Allo! C'est Le Chris Moyles Show sur Radio X Podcast. Oui, nous avions un fully loaded week (excuse our french), filled with a Hollywood superstar, a Michelin Star chef, an England International Footballer, and a lad from Leeds on his first tour. C'est spectaculaire! Leigh Francis (not Keith Lemon) treated us to a taste of his repertoire of characters - but did he really though? He's young, he's fun, and he's got a massive tongue, Peter Crouch came by and spilled the beans on whether he would sign for Leeds next season. Thanks to a cheeky little mix up of schedules, chef Michel Roux Jr came in twice* to talk about his hunt for Britain's Next Great Chef (*we must clarify that the first visit was actually French James). Ahead of the blockbuster premiere of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One, Simon Pegg gave us the behind the scenes scoop on Tom Cruise's motorcycle stunts and ‘Paul 2'. Oh, and we also had a mysterious appearance from Ellie Goulding… C'est non spectaculaire. We also review the latest offering from the DC Extended Universe - The Flash - and the first two episodes of Season 6 of Charlie Brooker's anthology series Black Mirror. Slightly different set up to this show. We start with spoiler-free thoughts on The Flash (6:40) and Black Mirror S6 Eps 1 & 2 (23:18). Then, for those of you who want to listen to an in-depth, very spoilerific discussion, we finish with a spoiler section. Huge Spoilers for Black Mirror S6 Eps 1 & 2 from 36:02.
Yet again we have been dropping distinctly British, distinctly men-of-a-certain-age, cultural references into TCD.We do try and be more 'global', but the fact remains that you can take the boys out of Yorkshire (though I am not sure why you would want to...) but you can't take Yorkshire out of the boys.Which means you are going to get references to Only Fools & Horses, Allo-Allo and The Two Ronnies this week - so for those of you operating slightly in the dark feel free to click through to a bit more information about each.Actually whilst we are on that subject, it turns out I was mistaken about which vocal take for STCBM I was recording when, in the diary this week. Zdravo. Tokrat začnemo debato z zaspanostjo in dobimo idejo o referendumu o obveznem popoldanskem počitku in referendumu o univerzalnem temeljnem dohodku (UTD).

The Prince of Egypt has been lauded as one of the best told animated biblical stories - and rightly so. Heavy subject matter has to be sensitively portrayed, which can be a big ask in a medium primarily geared toward children. It takes a rare movie to balance biblical accuracy with enough gentleness not to stress younger viewers, all while still managing to be entertaining. With all that and a surprise appearance of Jeff Goldblum, this film delivered us to the promised land of holiday-related animation. * Love Letter * Khopesh * 'There goes the neighborhood' * Homer Simpson goes through DABDA at breakneck speed * The Dawn of Everything * Why did God blow into Adam's nostrils? * Could the Ten Plagues have happened? * The Megafrog interpretation of passover * ‘Allo ‘Allo!

It's 2018. It's Elne in Southern France, and the Mayor has just cut the ribbon on one of the the most worthless art collections since they closed the last Athena. In what the Policeman from ‘Allo ‘Allo would have called “Zee dirty-tree epi-sod of the CB Wallop podcast Reneeeé” join Phil Jerrod and Phil Lucas as they discuss The Musee Etienne Terrus - the newly renovated French art museum, that was built to honour the great artist Etienne Terrus, then unwittingly filled with fake paintings. Should you buy your art from a man in a brown mac calling himself Monsieur X ... no... no best not. Trigger warning: This one's ART. So you know - painting, brushes, the quality of light ‘pon the water - that sort of thing. There is some gratuitous chat about Hitler - right from the start, and some very extreme French accents, for which, as always, we make no apology.
